File Tabs in Illustrator

Hello,
Files open up in tabs within Illustrator. Is there a SDK API to change the order of the file tabs?

I don't think so. If it was going to be anywhere I'd assume it'd be in AIDocumentList.h and I don't see anything helpful there.

Where did Close Tab and Close Window under the File tab go? I end up with all these open windows or exiting altogether.

Under the File tab, I no longer see Close Tab or Close Window. Thus, I end up with a lot of open windows, because if I click File Exit, I'm logged out.

You need to create a file userChrome.css in the chrome folder in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and paste the above posted code in the file.<br />
You can use the ChromEdit Plus extension to make it easier to edit the file.
You can access the profile folder via this button:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
That code will cause all hidden menu entries to get visible all the time, so you can use the mouse to open the menus and do not need to use the keyboard.

I can no longer close one tab at a time from the file tab. It is no longer an option

The file tab used to have an option to close one tab at a time. It is no longer available in file. If i close using the "X" it closes all of the tabs out.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).<br />

How do I find a file location of a file used by Illustrator?

I am trying to load a keyboard shortcut file in Adobe Illustrator it should go in: Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_US but I cannot find the directory. If I save a kb file from inside Illustrator the file saves but I cannot find the location. Spotlight search retuens nothing?
I saved a manualy modified kb shortcut file and saved the changes with a new name. I cannot find the new file that will have an extension of .kys but I have not been able to find it. I am using OS X Lion 10.7.2 What am I doing wrong?

Highlight the file in the search results and press the Command and Option keys down. The location will appear at the bottom of the preview screen.

Steps to recreate
(i) Create new user account and add to any group ( do not log on using this
account)
(ii) runas /user:<new user account> <fullpath>\excel.exe
it will ask password so enter on command prompt
(iii) open any excel document and click File->Print
(iv) verify result (it is failing) it pop ups below error

I have a default set excel is still throwing error. Interestingly winword , powerpoint and publisher are working fine. I am able to print from all office applications except Excel.
Probably excel behaves differently from other office applications.
Probably it is a bug in excel
Workaround : Log on to a system once using newly created account then runas excel using this account then print works fine.
It means something in user profile should be configure to run excel print operation. Could you please somebody help what I need to configure in user profile that makes print operation success?

I have read the sdk doc and API and opened the sample in vs2010,but no idea about how to operate the pdf doc in illustrator with api.

Why is the import tab missing under the file tab?

Why is import missing under the file tab? I want to import bookmarks etc. from Safari into Firefox.

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

File tabs in DW CS6 do not display text correctly

I recently purchased DW CS6, not the cloud version. When I open the program I cannot read the text on the file tabs in the program The text is distorted and barely legible. I run windows XP professional with SP3. Any ideas?

Are you sure you are using CHM? From what you have described, I might expect something browser based. (WebHelp, FlashHelp, Browser Based AIR Help).

If you were able to do it on the Mini you should be able to on an iMac, they use the same versions of OS X. You just have to recall how you set it up.

Unable to save a 'smallest size file' pdf from illustrator 5.5

We recently insalled Adobe Standard 5.5
I often save PDF files from Illustrator using the built in PDF options available from the PDF drop down menu bar when saving files. Usually I will save a visual as a 'smallest file size' or make use of the 'high quality print' option for other files etc.
Why cant I do this on CS5.5?
In addition, the colour is not acurate at all!
Please help

Hi Scott - I found the following thread on the net. So I had a look on my time machine back-ups and copied the files from there, which I then pasted into my Settings folder as you suggested.
Ta da!! All working again!
Any idea how I could restore these settings from a backup?

The PDF presets reside in Root/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings/
After I had installed 10.6.5, 6 preset files were removed from the Settings folder. The folder tree itself remained, it was just that some of the contents of "Settings" were deleted. I have fixed the problem by copying the deleted settings files from a backup.
These are the files which were deleted:
Smallest File Size.joboptions
Press Quality.joboptions
PDFX4 2008.joboptions
PDFX3 2002.joboptions
PDFX1 2001.joboptions
High Quality Print.joboptions
These files were not deleted:
Standard.joboptions
PDFA1b 2005 RGB.joboptions
PDFA1b 2005 CMYK.joboptions
Oversized Pages.joboptions
Somebody at Adobe community support for Indesign directed me to restore these files from a backup, which solved the problem.
