File transfer errors between WP8.1 and W8.1

This is probably in the wrong forum. But I cannot find anything which this falls under.
Also please forgive my lack of competence in filing an issue like this.
I own a Lumia 1020 and was trying to move photos off my phone to laptop. More specifically was trying to move the DNGs. I had already moved the jpegs. When it came to cutting or copying the DNGs I keep getting an unknown error saying that the operation would
not work. (sorry I don't have a screenshot of the prompt)
Now, I decided to restart my phone and lo and behold that batch of DNGs are now lost. Which I must say is quite a bad thing given that those photos were rather important.
Since that cannot be undone, I decided to move the other DNGs which to my surprise actually did start the transfer process without any hiccup. But, when my phone went to sleep it seemed to sever the connection between my laptop and phone thus killing the
file transfer process and generally 'unplugging' itself from my laptop until I unlocked it again.
Again I'm not sure how to submit this or under what category it falls. But this is an issue which shouldn't be happening with the finalised version of WP8.1

File Transfer Error Between Ichat 2.1 and Ichat 3

I am trying to send my brother some files. He has an Ibook G4 and so do I. He is running Ichat 3 on Tiger and I am running Ichat 2.1. Both of us are using a wireless connection through our own personal cable modems. He can send me files and I can accept them and get them without problems. Every time I try to send him a file, before it starts, we get an error 'File Transfer Error' file name not transferred.
He says he has no problems receiving files from other buddies of all different types of operating systems.
I don't recall having any problems sending or receiving from any of my other buddies either.
Is this just an OS X.3 vs OS X.4 issue? Or is there something weird with my Ibook?

Can your brother send files to other people.
It sounds like it might be his end.
File Transfers happen on Port 5190 on the UDP protocol.
Some modems and router have problems if they have to list Protocols when Port Forwading.
Is this the case for him ?

File transfer problem between Host OS and Guest OS

Hi,
I have WIndows7 32 bit as a host OS in C drive. and i have installed the Virtualbox in D drive and installed CentOS 6 in virtual box as a guest OS.
After installing the Guest Additions in CentOS and set the Drg n Drop-Bidirectional. it permits to create shared folder in CentOS but i am not able to drag n drop to any file from host to guest and vice versa.
Also when i plug the pendrive it copy the partially data in guest OS then it show unpluggeed automatically in guest OS. It copy only .rpm file in guest OS (CentOS)
please suggest how to copy the file from Host OS to guest OS and vice versa.
I have installed VirtualBox-4.3.20-96997. i have installed also Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.3.20-96996.vbox-extpack on windows ( on host OS).

The following is from the virtualbox user manual:
Drag’n’Drop This setting allows to enable Drag and Drop: Select a file on the desktop, click the left mouse button, move the mouse to the VM window and release the mouse button. The file is copied from the host to the guest. This feature is currently only implemented for Linux guests and only for copying files from the host to the guest.
I guess that explains your experience with Drag'n Drop.
Regarding USB and the pen drive, you cannot access a USB device in the host and guest OS at the same time. The technology does not support this. You will either have to capture the device to be used/mounted in the host or guest OS. Unless you configure the USB device in the virtual machine settings, the device will normally be captured by the host OS and become inaccessible by the guest OS.
To copy files between Windows and a VirtualBox Linux guest you can use Putty and it's pscp.exe to copy files from Windows to Linux and vise versa. You may have o enable SSH on your Linux side. There was a post here yesterday, please check the last forum discussions. Alternatively you can also use WinSCP if you want a GUI tool.

File Transfer Error / Checked out access

I am getting a file transfer error when trying to upload a revised file to the Remote Server. I think it may be related to the file being checked out by another team member who no longer has access to Dreamweaver. How can this be resolved? This is on a PC - I have CS6, the team member was using CS4.

Zen micro file transfer error and playing mista

My Zen Micro 5GB had some problems wih the sound:sometimes, listening to a song, I heard (more orless) a second of another song but after that isreturned to the selected one. all the songs are mp3 format
the transfer window pops up, the status will say writing for about 5sec. then the error comes up and says unable to create file - restart player and try again.
but then the player has the acti've docked logo on, which you aren't supposed to unplug from the computer when that's on, but it will not go off. I've left it for hours and ended up unplugging it anyway. So I've restarted it, pulled the batter and retried that a few times too.
Any ideas?

Remote Execute and File Transfer Error

Whenever we try to do a Remote Execute of File Transfer, we get an 1899
error. Here's the strange thing, we can RE and FT to desktops that are
still running the ZfD 4.x client. Seems to be only happening on the latest
(ZfD 6.5sp2). Any ideas? Also, remote control and remote view still work
w/o problem.

File transfer error 36

Trying to transfer files between iMac and iPod classic 60GB (model circa 2005). The file transfer process begins without problem until I get the following error for a file. When I open the source document(s) they display just fine.
In researching this issue, I disk repaired both the iPod (no errors), and the iMac (error found and repaired). Still no joy in transferring files.
Another issue is that if I remove the 'corrupt' file it is necessary to start the file transfer process from scratch . . . until the next 'corrupt' file hits. Any way to have the system not transfer the 'corrupt' files and have them listed in a transfer log so I can manually tinker with them since they do open and display properly on my iMac.
Appreciate any help with this issue.
ERROR MESSAGE:
The finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "<file name> could not be read or written. (Error Code - 36).

PI Control Error Between Process Variable and Set Point

I've developed a PI program that uses measurements from a pressure transducer as the process variable to control air pressure released from a motorized valve. The program works great at lower pressures, but as the set point pressure increases the error between the process variable and set point increases. I've tried several things....adjusting the P seems to initially increase the overshoot but the process variable always settles down below the set point....tried adjusting the EGU min and max values but no real pattern develops with this. It appears as the process variable get closer to the max EGU value of 70000 pascals the error increases.
I've attached three screen shots showing the process variable curve and setpoint value. The graph of interest is the one in the upper right hand corner.
Any recommendation or advice would be appreciated.

First off....I appreciate your comments. No...there is no value is system represented as U16.
Actually errors start to develop quite a bit before the maximum. If you look at the mid pressure.jpg file you'll notice that the set point (~28125 Pascals) and process variable (~25625 Pascals) are roughly off by about 2500 Pascals. Then if you look at the high pressure.jpg file you'll notice that the set point (~53000 Pascals) and process variable (~45500 Pascals) are roughly off by about 7500 Pascals. Therefore it appears as the setpoint pressure increases towards maximum the error tends to increase.
I was curious about something....the set point value I'm inputting into the PID.VI , shown in the high pressure.jpg file, is from EGU to percent.VI. It would look exactly like the EGU to percent VI feeding the process variable input of the PID.VI with the set point value feeding the EGU to percent.VI input. Would I be better off feeding the actual set point value to the PID.VI input instead of percentage?

I have two triple interface (FW400/FW800/USB2) 1000GB external hard drives. My 17inch Macbook Pro has 1xFW800 and 1xFW400. Please rank the following in terms of speed of transferring files directly between the external hard discs:
1. Connect one to FW400 and one to FW800.
2. Daisy chain FW800.
3. Buy a 2 slot FW800 express card and connect both via this card.
4. Buy a 2 slot FW800 express card and connect one drive to this card and the other to the inbuilt FW800 port on the Macbook Pro.

For things like file transfer with large files, the internal drive will be noticeably faster, because it is a single continuous action.
For booting and running a computer, there are many things happening at once, and disk access speed is only a small part of the overall process. Other factors related to the current status of the drives, such as amount of free space and fragmentation of system-related files will have an effect as well. If you perform a brand new system installation on a newly erased external drive, the system's files will be optimally placed with plenty of free space. Compare that to your internal drive, with the existing system's files somewhat more scattered over the drive (happens over time) and less contiguous free space (happens with ongoing adding and deleting of files)... The external drive may actually run faster.
I have Mac OS X systems on external FireWire (400) and USB 2.0 drives. The internal drive feels a bit faster, but it is not something that is too noticeable. The ideal setup to optimize disk access speed is a limited size internal drive volume (it can be a partition) with the OS and apps installed. This volume should be devoted mostly to the OS and apps and have a decent amount of free space. If the drive is partitioned, use the first partition. Your personal data is then stored mostly on your the other partition (if the internal drive is partitioned) or an external drive. This keeps the OS and application files confined in one fast portion of the drive, and reduces ongoing fragmentation of files and free space, because OS and app files do not change very often, compared to user data files.
However, for most users, the benefit gained is not enough to justify the added effort and complexity. One drive with everything bunched together is simple and easy, and works fine.

Slow transfer speeds between Mac Pro and Shared Drive on Windows Domain

Getting really slow transfer speeds when I try and transfer a file from a Mac Pro to a shared network drive on one of our Windows 2003 Servers.
The Mac Pro is logged on to windows domain. This data is transferring via our hard network, not via wireless. Not having any other transfer speed issues on any other PC's.
For example an 8mb file took around 45 mins.

I saw this at a site where they were using DFS with Server 2003. When the few Mac's they had connected to the actual server and uploaded the file it was okay. But when it was sending the file via the \\DFS_node\share_name the Mac took heaps longer for the same file. Watching the Activity Monitor > Network monitor you could see gaps with the data transfer, as if there was some pausing between packets. A pcap showed that there was constant DNS requests coming from the Mac, even after the connection to the share was made. The same wasn't happening when the connection via SMB was directly to the actual file server. As there was only a few Mac on site they left it with the direct connection but were getting an MS specialist in to look at it. Never heard what happened with that one but you may want to try monitoring the packet transfer to see if the data movement is contstant or breaking. I'd also recommend getting Wireshark to monitor the transfer. You can compare upload to download and maybe even the transfer from the Mac to an MS workgroup share.

File Transfer Error

1899. The connection with the Remote Management Agent is terminated.
File Transfer used to work just fine. Any ideas on why it broke and how to

File Transfer error - stops at 26280 bytes.

I am trying to make a little file transfer utility, and it works when I test the client and server sides on the same machine, but when I began to test the client and server on different machines it starts giving me problems. For files under 26280 bytes the file transfers completely, no problems. But for anything over that amount, the server stops the transfer and returns a bunch of errors on the server side. The client thinks the file is complete and quits. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the way I have set up the Streams. Here is the code snippit:

You have a buffered input stream hanging on a socket input stream. So what if the client gets ahead of the server? Answer: for a while, there is no data available.
