File with clear background places with white background

Hi,
I upgraded to PS10 and when try to place a saved pdf in IDCS2 the background changes from clear to white.
Is there a way to place it so the background doesn't show? Am I mixing up Illustrator and PS10 functions?

It functions to my Phaser fine out of PS CS3 in any version 1.3+
Transparency works out of PS PDF (CS 1, 2[?] and 3). I'm looking at it right now. What the heck am I missing? It doesn't "retain" transparency? -- I can see it in my IND file. In PS: Layer 1 is type. Works fine, retains vector. Layer 2 is soft brush stokes. Work fine, retain transparency in soft areas. Layer three is color fill set to 50% trans. Works fine, overlays a color element in IND great.
And MO, it doesn't matter if it's 1.3 or 1.7 (out of PS CS3). What's up with that? Is this a lo-res output only thing that will crash on any good RIP? Will I not be able to blend reliably when trying to flatten (and does that matter)?
Set me right. What's going on!

the trick is the following: it's a daily rewritten menu card, that's published in 2 directions:
1. we print it on preprinted cardbords (therefore we need no background in the pages document) (30 times every day)
2. we load it on the webserver, to make it available on the website and to send it out via newsletter. (technically i have a automator printplugin created which does the job of inserting the same backgroundimage as on the preprinted cards and then uploading it to the server)
Well, I guess it does not look to shabby
any ideas?

F-30: posting with clearing a document with special G/L indicator and tax

Hi All,
by t.code F-02 I've posted a document with the follow items:
PK     SG      Account Description
40                Bank G/L Account   u20AC 1200,00
19      A       Customer code         u20AC 1000,00- (1000,00 amount and 200,00 tax amount)
50                Tax G/L Account     u20AC 200,00-
If I launch the t.code F-30 (post with clearing), choose that customer and select the special G/L indicator "A", SAP displays
the document I've posted with an amount equal to 1.200,00- instead of 1000,00.
This does't allow me to clear the open Item....
Could anyone hel me?

Hi
A   payment recorded with   special GL indicator is automatically set as locked. This is sap program and cant be changed. When the related invoice is recorded , the   down payment can be cleared with it using F-39, provided the down payment relates to the same sales / purchase order.
For the difference in customer amount, its difficult to answer as    it may be due to wrong account selection or wrong amount entered in customer.

but it seems that the function is only for Post with Clearing-Standard Screen, how to use that function to post with clearing - partial pymnt or Res. Items???

If you post partiall payment you don't clear the invoice. Just post a normal item and fill the connection with the invoice, filling fields rebzg, rebzj, rebzz.
PERFORM fill_ftpost using:

When I place a white background PSD on my Indesign file I get a black stroke around the edge?

The stroke only shows up when I save the file as a pdf as I zoom in the line gets smaller and smaller but never goes a away. In InDesign and on the PSD file the edges look fine just all white around the "horsefly" any help would be great. Thanks

PDF files can contain transparency so a white background might be a modification that can only be done after the file is opened.

Hello, I have a simple clothing pattern I want to make a 3d Texture from which I can do however what I would like to do is make a layer out of the white background around the template with the marked pattern areas as transparents so after I paint the main template clothing ares, I can place the white background with transparent areas back in as a layer to cover where I paint or fill over the marked template area. Is this possible, if so, how?
I am working in CS5 Extended.

Kimberly, here is a simple method to make the cutouts slightly large so that white seams don't appear on the textured model. Make sure to use the settings that are highlighted in the screenshots.
Open the t-shirt template file
Magic Wand Tool
Click anywhere in the big white area surrounding the t-shirt pieces.
Select > Modify > Contract… try 2 pixels at first
Press Cmd+J (Ctrl+J on Windows) to copy the selection to a new layer.
Hide or remove the original layer.

White background of image created in Photoshop prints as grey through iPhoto postal ordering service.

I have created an image in Photoshop with a white background (I stuck with the default white background that the new image gave me). Over the top of this, I placed some images, saved it as a JPG, imported it into iPhoto and ordered it as a postcard-sized picture.
When I received it in the post, the whole image had printed with a grey overtone: the white background was in fact grey, and the pictures over the top were darker.
How can I resolve this to print my image with a truly white background through iPhoto's ordering service?

If unchecking the scene-referred profiles box clears the display problem in Photoshop, you most likely have hit a known bug with defective monitor profiling packages building defective monitor profiles that affect Photoshop and After Effects — specifically, the defective profile is erroneously marked as "scene referred."
Version 4 ICC Profiles: If your are using v4 printing profiles, try Googling for more information...some symptoms of this bug are Photoshop prints a light cyan or blue in the page white areas. The Fix is to use Version 2 printer profiles.
there is another old known issue that has to do with trying to Hard Proof simulate press conditions (printing cyan in whites) but i am not sure what you are trying and i can't recall it right now

Unwanted black or white background when replacing icons

I like to replace the icons of my hard drives according to the purpose for which they are used. (At http://www.iconarchive.com many icons are available.) This works fine when I'm running OS 10.5. I find an icon I want to use, copy the image, use the finder to Get Info of the drive whose icon I want to replace, and then paste into the icon in the Get Info window. However, when I do that in OS 10.4, everything works except that the icon appears with either a black or white background.
How can I replace my icons in OS 10.4 and not have a black or white background?

Yup! It's a few extra steps, not too many and nothing tricky, and the result is perfect.
none of those icons work here at all for me!?
In what operating system(s) do they not work for you? And what do you mean by "do not work"?

F-04 post with clearing

Hi,
I have made 2 jv transaction posting in fb50 those are reflecting in fbl3n as open items but if i want to clear it through F-04 post with clearing those line items are not appearing pls suggest the solution what might be reason for the same.

ever doc. have 2 ways to clear
1) post with clearing
2)post with out clearing
post with clearning : if u have a invocie and u r passing the payment for that invoice if u chose post with clearning system clear the invoice against that payment.
2)post with out clearning: if u have a invoice and ur passing gthe payment for that invoice if u chose post with out clearning that time system is not clearing the invoice amount
and its showing as 2 line item one is invoice and 2nd is payment line item, after that u can clear both line item against each other

White background in iTunes 9

Wish we were given a choice I hate the white it's way to harsh so I left feedback asking nicely for my dark background back please do the same if you feel as I do,and lets hope some one's looking

They changed the icons on the side a bit. Not too bad, they look good. They made the menu bar a little shinier. Not bad, but a little odd since it doesn't match any of the other iLife programs, or the finder, or the look of anything else in Apples interface.
*I love all things apple. But really a white background without anyway to change it?* Just to make iTunes 9 look different from 8? They should take a page from their own play book. Snow Leopard minor visual changes, major changes under the hood. *It doesn't have to look different to tell us that it is different.*
iTunes and iPhoto had a similar appearance. I like the way they went together. Like a good belt and shoes. *But why couldn't they or why doesn't apple give us an Appearance option in preferences like they do in iPhoto?* I can have a black background or a white background or anything in between. I mean they have the code already written for iPhoto, just cut and paste. (ok I know it's not that simple, but I know they can do it.)

White background appears grey

Still trying to learn my D7000 and still have lots of questions!!!!!
Yesterday, I took a number of experimental shots (a red phone cord lying on a white background). The white background (an artists white canvas lying on the floor) was well lit from above using 5600K lights.
The shots were all taken using auto focus, auto exposure, etc and in the view finder everything appeared to be correct, but on later viewing the photos, the white background appears to be grey.
I have attached a sample image to show the grey colour.
Can anyone explain why the background is grey --- especially when using the auto mode when taking the photos.
I am not concerned about the picture quality only the grey background and I did not undertake a WB as I thought that this was part of the auto mode when taking the photo. the shot was taken by half pressing the shutter release butto to ensure that everything was OK then continuing to fully press the button.

In the viewfinder while taking the photos the background appeared to be fully white and when looking at the canvas, there was no obvious sign of any colour variation.
Also, I was under the impression that when using auto mode, that everything (including automatic white balancing) was done for you by the camera.
This camera is sure different to my trusty old Nikon F3 ---- looks like I will have to go back to the book and undertake a lot more reading (only up to page 50 so far!!!!!!!).

Every time I download a PSD file, it shows up as a white file and I can't open it up in Photoshop itself. What do I do?

The PSD file downloads fine, and when I go to open, the file picture shows up as a white background and Photoshop doesn't seem to open the file in the software.

Where are you "downloading" this PSD from?
Which ver of Photoshop are you using?
Is the file you're downloading created with a compatible ver of Photoshop?
Is the file zipped by any chance? Did you use your decompression utility to unzip it?

jpg and pdf formats don't support transparency. You need to use a format such as tif, png or psd that does.

WORD doc x files show lettering changed from black to white with black background, colors have black background

WORD doc x files received open with black lettering changed to white with black backgrounds. Color images have black backgrounds. There is no issue for non MAC users. How can I open the document as sent? Thank you.

Pages (any version) is not a word clone, and may not digest Word documents as accurately as their native Microsoft application. Pages v5 is also far from feature/functionality complete, and that only compounds this issue.
Suggest you download/install the free LibreOffice and open the Word documents with it. Do the artifacts persist in LibreOffice?
