FileAccess-related error upon clicking "open an existing report" BPC Excel

Hi,
We am getting a strange popup with BPC NW 7.5 patch level 3 and are wondering if anyone may shed some light as to why we are getting this popup.
We have not found a way to resolve this yet. It seems to be security related and seems to be File Access related.
Sorry for the long rest of this message but the popup has quite a lot of text, which I have included here but not the full error.
We can still access the report, but the popup is causing a lot of questions from the users.

Hi ferro,
I've Admin rights in the system and am facing this issue since long but couldn't solve it.
It've become a road stopper for reporting to my users.
Kindly advice on this....does re-installing the client help in any way?
I've tried restarting the IIS several times, but it didn't work. The problem seems to be with "Web service"..

Can i open a existing report using a report generation toolkit

Hello All,
Suppose I create a new excel report today and close the program, Tomorrow I open the same program and instead of creating a new excel file, i need to update the test results data into the excel file which was created yesterday, is this possible.
I am confused because there is no option called Open report in report generation toolkit, it just has create new report option.
Probably NI Guys can work on this...sorry if it is a;lready existing?
Is there any method to open a existing report?

I have a similar problem. I'd like to use Report Generation Toolkit to enter data into some cells in the active worksheet of the active workbook but it seems impossible?! The user has in beforehand opened the desireed workbook and activated the desired worksheet. I use the 'New Report' VI with the template input set as the path of the active workbook (some self-made ActiveX calls to get the path). When this VI is run, howevere, the excel file is sort of re-opened and another worksheet becomes the active one.
I tried to make a customized copy of New Report.vi, New Report subVI.vi and Excel_Open_Workbook.vi so that the Report object works with the currently active workbook and worksheet, but I failed due to my lack of knowledge in LV classes and such things. It would've been an ugly solution anyway to have custom low-level VIs that does not follow when the RepGen Toolkit develops in the future.

Error while opening an existing report

Hi all,
I'm working with Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on Windows XP.
My XP user account has no administration capbilities and when I run reports builder I get the following errors:
REP-0118: Unable to create temporary filethen as soon as i try to open an existing jsp report file I get the following
REP-0069: Internal error
REP-0: Row : n 1, <% @ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/lib/reports_tld.jar" prefix="rw" %>
Error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: c:\docume~1\admini~1\impost~1\temp\docroot\WEB-INF\lib\reports_tld.jar (Access denied)This is (as I guess) because Reports Builder tries to write the temporary files in the administrator's "documents and settings" folder. Where should I specify a different path for my user?

Ceating a desktop shortcut for a URL gives an error upon click

After I drag to the desktop a shortcut appears. In properties it lists the correct URL. When I click to open the error "Unable to open this internet shortcut. The protocol "http" does not have a registered program.
This happens with IE as well as Firefiox. FF is my goto browser. Win 7, FF 18.
Any ideas?

Make sure that you have set Firefox as the default browser.

Error when opening an existing report from BW system

Hi All,
I have Crystal Reports 2008.
Service Pack 2.
Fix Pack 2.2 (I also tried with fix pack 2.7)
When I try to open a crystal report from a bw system it gives me error message : " An error occured while updating the report's parameter pick list. " ..
Do you have any idea how can I fix this ?

Popup blocker issue when trying to open XML publisher report in Excel forma

Hello
I am having the XML report in excel format, when i click on output it was blocking by popup blocker i think and when i click 'Control' button on my keyboard and then press the output it will show the window to save or open the excel. I have added my instance name in the popup blocker setting in the 'Allowed' list but still having the isseu... Anybody have any comments on this...

I do not think TestStand ships with a stylesheet to do any such conversion, so I am assuming this is a custom stylesheet that you have either written or gotten from a 3rd party. It's possible something is formatted differently in the xml in TestStand 2012 that your stylesheet is not expecting. You might need to debug and modify your stylesheet to make it work with TestStand 2012.
There should be a TestStand folder. Perhaps you are on a 64-bit OS in which case the folder would be located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\TestStand xxx

Repersentation of #error in HFR while exporting the report in Excel

Hi All,
We are working on Hyperion Financial Report 9.3.1 with Essbase as a data source.
We are replacing the #error with 'NA', which is working fine when we are viewing the FR reports in workspace.
But when we export this report in Excel, word "NA" is changed by 0 (zero), which is misleading the user.
How can we stop this conversion (NA to 0)?
Any suggestion and help will be appreciated.

I tested the case with the way you offered me. I can reproduce the problem. I think it should be a bug of the product.
I searched that on ML3. I found a bug which said that. This bug has been fixed in EPM 11.1.1.0.00. I tested that on my EPM 11.1.1.0.00 system. It works fine. The NA value can be exported in excel.
So would you like to upgrade to EPM 11.1.1.0.00 to fix the issue?

HTTP 500 - Internal server error - not able to Export BI report to Excel

Hi,
We just upgraded to HFM 9.3.1.4. Unfortunately we are not able to Export BI report to Excel (in Workspace and in BI Studio). We receive the error message "HTTP 500 - Internal server error" (this worked fine in 411).
We are able to preview in PDF and HTML, but not Export to Excel. We also just restarted the services for workspace and web analysis, but still the same issue.
Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

I tried looking at HELP...but because it isn't semantic
yet...whatever I am using to search on ISN'T finding a
solution...so...
I have created two HOTSPOTS I know how to link then to a
specific file ... I WANT THE LINK to open a pre-sized window. Are
there tools in FW that allow me to do this or do I have to pop into
DreamWeaver.
What I want to happen (but with an imagemap/hotspot)...go to

... then click on one of the image of the building (upper
right-hand corner image)...another pre-sized window should be
opening for you.
Again...I did it user HREF on a img src...how do I do it from
an imagemap/hotspot...are there tools inside of FW?

Use Dreamweaver. Fireworks = Image editor. Dreamweaver = HTML
editor.

Error message when opening a shared workbook with Excel 2007

Hello,
We would like to share a workbook outside BW (by saving into a serveur).Since we use Excel 2007, we can't anymore open this workbook.
We have a message error (see bellow).
For your information, it was ok with Excel 2003.
When whe save the workbook in local disk and then copy from local disk
to a serveur, it's ok.
We use SAPGUI 7.10 support package 8, patch 1 Revision 1443 & BI 7.0.

first of all, your error message is in French... not too many people out there will be able to understand. Eventhough I do understand French, it doesn't make much sense to me... BUT... in Excel2007 all macro's are by default disabled. When you enable them (you should get a "Security Warning" right under "the Ribbon"), your BI stuff should work again.
Just gave it a try, and it runs smoothly over here.

There is no too much difference in SSRS2008 comparing to SSRS2005, for detail steps, please refer to below:
1. Right-click the detail row on the Main report, and then select Insert Row->Inside Group-Below
2. Merge the new row, and the drap your subreport into this merged textbox.
3. Right-click the whole subreport row, then select Tablix Properties.
4. Move to Visibiblity tab, click the Hide option and the Checkbox of
Display can be toggled by this report Item
5. Select one toggle item based on your requirement. Such as we could select the datafield on the detail row.
6. Right-click the subreport control and then select Subreport Properties.
7. Select the subreport name in the drop-down list.
8. If the subreport contain parameters, you should move to the Parameter tab on the Subreport Properties dialog box, for this point you could refer to this link

Error when clicking on refresh all button in excell add in

Hi All
One of our users is facing an issue when clicked on the refresh all button on excel.
Below is the error she is getting.
"Request Definition has been changed on server since last download. Please use edit Prompts and levels to select new filters.tableView"
Sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesnt.
How can we rectify this issue? Please advice.

Itunes comes up with error message on opening "itunes has stopped working..

i have installed itunes onto my vista laptop and it stops working when opened, it comes up with an error message "itunes has stopped working microft is checking for a solution" and then closed itunes. I have followed apples advise and unistalled and installed it a few times, removed all unecessary files etc etc.

Fingers crossed, your Vista problem history may give us more information on what is going on.
Go into your Problem Reports and Solutions Control Panel, click on the Problem History, and look for iTunes problem reports that occur at the same time as those error messages. Open the problem reports. Do they all say the same thing? If so, paste the contents of a typical problem report into a reply here.

URGENT: Opening JInternalFrame upon click of a button

Hi can somebody help me, Im a newbie in JDeveloper IDE and have no proper training.
Im using Oracle Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0. My project is an ADF Swing Application.
Let me explain what I'm trying to do..
I like to open another JinternalFrame upon click of a button.
When I click the button. Im passing two parameters(bind variables) to filter the view object
of the class and displlay its result in JinternalFrame.
I have a ClassA that extends JinternalFrame, it contains components such as textbox, combo box etc. and a button labeled (Show ClassB).
I also have ClassB that extends JinternalFrame, its view object required two bind variables.
In ClassA, it has table and i will select one row and click on a button.
I will pass the value in the table to the bind variable of the view object of ClassB and open and display the result in JInternalFrame.
Im getting the parameters, but i cant pass it on the bind attribute of the view object.
How can I do this in my java class with the relation of its pagedef.
Im comfused..
