Table name and filed name from a scrren fiels

I'm using Oracle Forms 10g
I have 2 screen fields named :TABLE_NAME & :COLUMN_NAME
I wrote a trigger 'SELECT :COLUMN_NAME INTO :F FROM :TABLE_NAME;'
and this syntax is not accepted; I'm trying to get the field name and the table name from the screen fields

This has more to do with SQL and PL/SQL than Forms.
You cannot use bind variables in FROM clause the way you are trying to use it, :TABLE_NAME.
If you must use a variable in constructing your query you are getting into Dynamic SQL , http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/dynamic.htm
Try using EXECUTE IMMEDIATE as given here. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14261/executeimmediate_statement.htm

Down Payment Table Name

Can any one tell me the table name for down payement.
The field is avl in PO (ME23N) view, Header Details, Status Tab..(the value filed).
We are developing a report, In this the down payment value to be flow from the PO.

CDHDR - Change document header
CDPOS - Change document items
Go to SE11 / SE16 / SE16N, here enter Object value as "PO No" in Table CDHDR and get the Document No and then input this in CDPOS and get the changes details. You can also enter EKKO and EKPO tables and see the whole list.

You can not find this information in one single table. Please try the below easiest method to get information:
Execute transaction SQVI
Give some name and create
Pop Up apprears, give titile and in Data Source select, table join
Press Shift+F1
Give table name BKPF
Press Shift+F1 again
Give table name as SBIS or BSAS depending upon the requirement to get clear item or open items
Press back butto
Expand the nodes in left side of screen
Select the items based on which you want to extract the data from table and select the filed for output which you wnat to see in ouput
Press execute button.
Belive me by this time you have already created a SAP quick viewer query and by executing you will have the required data.

QPCD-KURZTEXT or QPCD-LTEXTV
For text field fetch - go to table - QPCT

What program name and table name?

Assuming I am just a SAP user and not an ABAP programmer, how would I know the name of the program and the table/s being used by the report (like an ALV report) which I have on my screen.

Keep cursor on any filed and press F1 after that u need to press 'Technical Settings' in that window u can get Field name, Table name and Program name as well.

As suggested enter the values in ODSNAME_TECH filed of table RSTSODS in SE16.
From which you will find PSA table name in ODSNAME field which will guids you to see Info Source then the related cube.

From the payment document you have to link to the clearing document (Number BSEG-AUGBL, same Fiscal year and Company Code) in the clearing document the text entered in the transaction can be found on item text (BSEG-TEXT).

Ways of search table name

Hi abappers,
I want search a table name in SAP.
I have the description name but I don´t find the table.
I go to the se16 and in the table DD02T I search in description field a description.
I go to the se11, click in the match code of de field table name and click on the sistem information and on the filed description a description.
I need other way where I obtain the table taht I search, please?

I search with name of description and I found name of a view with the t-code se11 and select radio button view and put the name of this view, then on the tab table/join conditions I obtain the table name of this view.
I need found other name table of others descriptions, but this descriptions are the name of area menus (no descriptions name table)
some t-code or table where I search view or table of area menus Can you help me, please?

Hai Nilesh SB,
In general to find the Table for the filed detail, CLICK (F1) on the field and it open a Performance Assistant screen.
In that CLICK the Technical Information icon,
The Tech information gives the details of Table, field name.
And you can check in the se16 or se11.

Can't see data in data tab when there is a "." in table name

Hi,
I have a problem with SQL Developer 2.1 (this works with 1.5).
When there is a dot (".") in table name, we can't see data in data tab (we have no synonyms so it's not same bug).
If I try to export data on same table, in "WHERE" tab, I can see sample !
Any idea ?

Database "TABLE" name change is NOT reflecting on Designer Security

version: BOXI 3.1
I have change the table name in my Database for some particular reason.
After changing the name from "A_Table" to "B_Table" it is updating the objects "select" information correctly by itslef. BUT for security in (Manage Access Rights) old Table name is showing.
Manaul correction is the only way for it? Can this be updated automatically.
What is the way to achieve it through SDK.
Kindly any member guide me.
I have number of tables to change and each have number of securities applied in universe.

Crystal 2008 - Selected table names are blank or end in 1

I am creating a new report in Crystal 2008. I am connecting to a database using ODBC. The tables show up correctly in the available tables column of the Database Expert. Once I select a table the table shows up in the selected tables list as an icon only - no name or as an icon with a table name ending in 1. The table name that ends in 1 is not a duplicate.
Furthermore, in the field explorer the fields all show but I can not add any to the report.
Any ideas, this just started happening this week.

Which database you are reporting off?
You can try following workaround and create indirect ODBC connection.
Create a report using OLEDB connection and select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC drivers and then create a report .
This will point to your existing ODBC connection through OLEDB provider.
For the tables name that are blank do you have hyphen '-' in their names?
As advised by Jayendra you can try with Service Pack 1for Crysatl Reports 2008.
