Filename changed on import

a new problem tonight: I was importing the photoshop-edited version of some images back to the original iPhoto library (to have them all in one place for burning to CD), but the imported versions now all have different filenames.
Normally I can tell them apart (aside from obvious cropping and editing differences) by their filenames: the original looks like "DSC_1234.jpg" and the imported edited version looks like "DSC_1234" minus the .jpg.
Tonight, DSC_2956.jpg was opened and edited in photoshop, saved to a different folder as "DSC_2956.jpg", then imported back to iPhoto as "DSC_2958".
Anyone ever had this problem?

BTW, I am using iPhoto 2.0.1.

How do I change the import point?

I'm a B-4.1 user, and have moved the root of my LR Database successfully. My 2007 database root shows as "2007 on Photodb2 (L:)" with a date directory structure ...\01\01 through ...\01\27 and ...\02\01 through \02\20. My problem is that all imports are now done at ...\2007\02\20, so the files get added with the directory structure of ...\2007\02\20\ filename. The import dialog has:
"Copy to: L:\2007db\Managed Photos\2007\02\20"
Any suggestions on how to change the "copy to" to L:\2007db\Managed Photos\?

I imported an existing form but I do not want to save it to the cloud but save locally. How do I change the imported file that is saved on the Cloud to storing locally?

I have imported a PDF document and it automatically saves it to the cloud. I want the imported form to save locally? Is there a way to change an imported document from cloud to local?

Files are automatically saved to your online account when you use the Acrobat.com online services. However, you can most certainly download the files to your computer, by selecting them at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files, and then clicking the Download icon.

Using Field-Symbols in a user exit to change the importing parameter

Please don't ask why but I need to use a user exit, changing the importing parameter. I decided that I could do this using field-symbols.
Please excuse my ignorance but I have never used field symbols for something such as this.
Here is my goal: Loop through an internal table (im_document-item). When I find what I need I want to make a change to this line (not so hard if I am looping into a field symbol) and also append a line to the end of the table im_document-item.
I have the following so far:
DATA: wa_item TYPE accit,
wa_item_out type ACCIT_SUB.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <document> type acc_document,
<accit> TYPE ACCIT.
LOOP AT im_document-item ASSIGNING <accit> where saknr = '0000211000'.
* Modify the curent line
wa_item = <accit>
* Append a new line into table im_document-item.
ENDLOOP.
How can I use field-symbols to append a line to this table? Please note that the table in question (im_document-item) is an importing only parameter.

that will allow me to append an initial line with <accit> pointing to the line. Therefore I just have to modify <accit> and the new line will then have my changes?
Yep, that is exactly it. So after the APPEND statement, simply fill the fields of the <accit>.
append initial line to im_document-item ASSIGNING <accit>.
<accit>-field1 = 'Blah'.
<accit>-field2 = 'Blah'.

Filename change history available

Does OS X store a list of modifications done to the filename of a specific file ?
For example I created a file named "myfile.ext" (regardless by which application), then change the original name to "myfile2.ext", "differentname.ext" and so on.
Is there a way to track such filename changes in something like a history view or stored in an attribute (chmod file modes, ACL, whatever) ?

How can I change the import options for an Excel table in InDesign CS5.5?

I have a problem with an InDesign script that works this way in ID CS4 and ID CS5, but stops working in ID CS5.5.
What the script should do, is to change the import preferences for a table saved in an Excel file so that I can place an unformatted table into a new textFrame in my InDesign document. The Excel document is an .xlsx-File.

What the script does (or at least seems to do) is: nothing. The table that is placed into the textFrame by the script is always formatted, as this seems to be the standard preference of InDesign CS5.5 for importing tables out of excel files.
Does anybody have a hint for me how to make the script work in ID CS5.5?

Okay, now it is working. I had to save the XLSX-file into the older XLS format, but that seems to work quite well.
But I won't ever understand why InDesign loses its backward compatibility from one version to the other.

No. iTunes Store music downloads always come as AAC, except for podcast episodes, which are in the format chosen by their creator.

Trouble changing the importing prefence of my itunes.

I cannot change my importing preference in iTunes. I can change to:
Import using: AAC
Setting: High Quality 128 kpbs
When i try and change the settings to Custom (192 kpbs, the iTunes prefernce window that is opens goes behind the main iTunes window and I am unable to save the new settings, I have to go to my task manager to close itunes.
I have Quicktime 7 and itunes 6.
Any one else have this problem?

same problem here except for the window stays in front.I did find out that if I shut down my antivirus and uninstall quicktime then itunes and leave my anti virus off and reinstall itunes , I am able to change the import quality settings and itunes will remember them BUT as soon as I turn on my antivirus, Itunes reverts back to the 160mbps settings and all other defaults, and if I try to change anything Itunes won't remember any changes. I am running Trend Micro PCillininternet security suite. Let us know if you find a fix because apple doesn't seem to be addressing anyones problems here.

Frame Rate change when importing video into FCP 5

I am importing an HD h264 file into FCP 5. The video when opened in QT shows that it's frame rate is 30fps, what I exported it at. When I Import the file into FCP 5 it changes the frame rate to 29.97fps, which is causing major video/audio syncing issues. Any thoughts on how to stop the frame rate change when importing? I tried changing my system settings and audio/video settings before the import to match the file and it is still picking it up at 29.97, major headache especially since I'm cutting industrial.

yeah I'm kinda limited, working with video for the web and I'm making revisions as to what has been already posted. The H264s are the originals per say as we are using a screen capturing program to obtain the video, I could re export the originals at a truer format, but with the resources I'm given, its not truly the option I can afford to take. I've found a workaround through using imovie of all things, but I rather be in FCP. I've done some editing with h264s before and this is the first time I've seen this happen, it kind of reminds me of when I had an editor a few years back digitize video that was drop frame as non-drop.

Filename doesn't get changed when importing (sometimes)

I have the following Problem:
When I import a directory of mp3 files (an album), then some filenames (1-2) don't get changed (there are correct id3 tags). Lets say I have the first song called first song, the original filename is first_song.mp3. After importing the song is in the correct directory but not changed. It should be something like: 01 first song.mp3. When I edid the id3 tag to lets say first songe the file gets changed.
What could be the problem? Itunes bug?

Original video file date changes when imported

When I import video files, the date of the original source file gets changed to the date of my importing it.
Premiere Pro CS4 never did that. Why is CS5.5 changing the date of the source file ??

I think you are saying my 'write xmp id to files on import' must be turned ON somehow. I did not do that, so if it is turned ON, it must be ON by default ?
It was both 'date created' AND 'date modified' that were being changed to the date of import.
Ok, I found that. It is turned ON by default, I turned it OFF. I also turned OFF the next one too - 'enable clip and xmp metadata linking'.
I just did a test import, and the 'date modified' of the video files on the hard drive has not changed. Thank you. VERY MUCH.
But, I have other problems too, with PP, and video file dates.
There's a 'date created' and a 'date modified' for video files. Plus, with Windows 7, there's a few more dates - 'date of content' etc.
My original untouched video file dates do not make any sense. 'Date Modified' is showing the date the video files were recorded. 'Date Created' is showing the date I copied the video files from the camera stick to the hard drive.
That makes no sense. They should be the reverse.
Why why why after 30 some odd years have the computer engineers NEVER made video files dates the same as digital photo files, with 'Date Taken'.
Also,
I have multiple cameras. For each event or trip or whatever I often take several 1,000 photos and videos. It's an absolute necessity to be able to mass import chronologically. The only way I can integrate / import them all in chronological order is by Date originally Taken, and then immediately drag all the files to the timeline while they are still all collectively highlighted in the order I just imported them all by date.
PP only allows for imports by 'date taken' for photos and 'date modified' for video files. And, if I don't immediately drag the imported files to the timeline while they are all still highlighted without doing anything else first, the bin window re-arranges them all by filename, and there is no way to later re-arrange them by dates.
This is extremely aggravating and impossible to work with for my need to import then later work with multiple-source recorded files chronologically.
All these 'date' problems for video files really totally screws that.

Exporting catalog, making changes, then importing catalog does not update file movements and deletions

I export part of my master catalog to a laptop. I include the image files so I can edit the files at full res. After managing and editing files I import the catalog back into the master catalog. When importing I check to replace metadata, develop settings and negative files. I have been running some tests to be sure all my work is being captured in the master catalog by this process. I find that if I change develop settings or photo ratings this is detected when the file is imported and the data in the master catalog is updated properly. The surprise is that if I delete files or move files among folders in the exported catalog these changes are not detected and these changes are not updated inthe master catalog. It seems bizarre to me that such changes are not detected but I do not see how to get LR to recognize these changes and include them in the catalog update. Without this capability I don't see how to use catalogs to move part of a catalog to another computer for edits and file management and then move back to the master catalog.

There are various reasons why Lightroom works this way, but you'll need use pick flags to indicate photos to be deleted, and other metadata like colours or collections.

FTP filename changes

In a FILE to FILE scenario we would like to change the name of the file.
let's say filename on the sender side is 'datafile' and we would like it to be 'infodatafile' on the receiver side.
So add the 'info' string to the filename.

I guess ur just doing File to File scenario without IR configuartion..in that case ID when u r creating communication channel for File receiver there itself in file name scheme u need to put "infodatafile"
and in sender file communication channel put file name scheme as "datafile"
so file with datafile is picked up and file with infodatafile is created.

CVD condition change in import PO

Dear Experts,
There is a requirement to change CVD condition percentage for lot of import PO's which have partial GR. If we change condition records thru MEK1 tcode it is not effective since we have to go & update each & every line item conditions by clicking update procedure. It is also practically difficult to do for lot of PO's. Please let me know what needs to be done.

i think manually also not posible if GR have been done aginst that PO line item. as those are time independent conditions
cond record will be effective for new po only
either u will have to shot close all the PO and creat new line ite in same po or creat new one.
or
Any ways value of CVD flows for MIRO it has nothing to do with PO value in CVD , so i think it will not make much diffrence.
