Filename options

Hi,
Question about Filename options.
It is now crayed out, what is the best thing to do.. Leaf it like it is.
Or disable it. for what?
Ton

Are you trying to change the filename? If yes, then you need to deselect the "Same as page Name" option and you should be able to setup a new Filename.
This option doesn't apply to Home page i.e. index.html.
Thanks,
Vinayak

  • Where is the display filenames option in web gallery export?

    adobe bridge CS4, as i'm understanding this feature went away in later versions.
    Just trying to export a web gallery that will include the file name beneath of it.
    I thought the feature was non-existnant so I have spent a couple hunded bucks and about two years trying third party options, I prefer that the web gallery export look exactly like bridge.
    in reading through these forums again, i see mention of to simply check "Show File Names" when I create a Web Gallery.
    I cannot find this option anywhere.
    just want to have web gallery with the names of the files beneath the images, if it were searchable, and could be organized by alpha-numerical order just like bridge, that would be what I wish.

    adobe bridge CS4, as i'm understanding this feature went away in later versions.
    In CS6 it is still there, only under the Template 'HTML Gallery'
    Don't have experience myself with Web Gallery so no idea if this has changed but believe it has always been this way, maybe they changed the order of the templates?

  • Organizer does not show filename and extension viewing photo

    Windows 7
    Photoshop Elements 8
    I previously had Photoshop Elements 8 on a computer with Windows XP that died. My photos, thankfully, were on an external hard drive. My new computer has Windows 7. I installed Photoshop Elements 8 on it and imported my photos.
    Previously when viewing a photo in Organizer in the largest size obtainable by clicking on the thumbnail, the photo would show tags and the filename with extension. Now, It does not show the filename and I have to click properties and get the little window that opens to show me the name. I couldn't find anything in preferences to set the filename option. Can someone please tell me how to do it?
    Thanks, Eva

    Hi,
    Under the View menu, ensure that Details & Show file names are both checked

  • Can I batch change titles within iPhoto while keeping the original IMG_(4digit) filename/title as PART of the new title?

    Using iPhoto '09/8.1.2 on a MacBookPro, with 40,000+ photo library, having the (apparently common) problem of CD burn errors (with Toast and with Disk Utility) when 2 photos end up having the same underlying filename assigned by the camera.  To try to avoid this, I want to retitle pictures within iPhoto so I can utilize the "use title as filename" option when exporting (because I guess I can't burn CDs from WITHIN iPhoto because of this problem, right?).  I was hoping to create new titles that were a combination of the existing 4 digit filename assigned by the camera, combined with new descriptive text (either date, or event title would be fine), and hoping to save time by using Batch Change (which I've never tried - just seen it mentioned here in perusing discussions).  I've also seen reference to "Automator" (which may be over my head), but again not sure if that can be used within iPhoto to combine existing/new title text.  (Also, I saw mention of a script written by Toad at Toad Hall site, but the link to it was bad - may be over my head, also: never tried a "script" before...)  Thanks in advance!

    No.  Coming out of iPhoto you're limitied to the Title, real file name, Album name or (in the Export window) Text  with or without sequential number.
    However, if you export out with the orignal file name to a folder you can use a file renaming app to add whatever common text to the beginning of the file name so you would get XXXX XXX-IMG 1234.jpg.  Some renamers can remove the IMG bore adding the text at the beginning.
    The app that I use and like best is Name Mangler.  Very powerfull.

  • Export from iPhoto 08 with sequential filenames retaining iPhoto order?

    Is there some way to export photos from iPhoto 08 with filenames that will be seen by the Finder (or a PC) as having the same order as the photos in iPhoto? I used the Sequential Filenames option in the Export pane to export a 1790 image album, but the sequence numbers were assigned as 1,2, 3, .... , 1790. That is ordered in the Finder, or on a PC, as 1, 10, 100, 1000, 1001, etc., and when my son displayed them using his Play Station 3, that is the order in which they came up. If the sequence numbers were assigned as 0001, 0002, 0003, ... , 1790, I would expect the files to retain the desired order, but I can't find a way to accomplish this.

    Is there some way to export photos from iPhoto 08 with filenames that will be seen by the Finder (or a PC) as having the same order as the photos in iPhoto
    Yes there is. Put the photos in an album, sort them as desired, go to the Photos->Batch Change->Title to Text with the checkbox ticked to add a sequential number.
    Next, export those sequentially retitled photos using the File->Export->File Export menu option with the format set to JPG and theFile Name set to Title. This will give you what you want.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • FileName Dynamically Changed

    Hi guys,
    I've a simple question....something that it's bothering me for a while.
    In a scenario where I've got a file receiver, and where I want to build the filename based on the content of a field from my message, isn't it as simple as:
    1. Enable Variable substitution on the sender channel
    2. Create a variable and place it the reference to the message payload.
    3. Define the filename as %variable%.xml
    If this is the procedure, than I get the error on the adapter engine:
    MP: exception caught with cause com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: The Adapter Message Property 'FileName' was configured as mandatory element, but there is no 'DynamicConfiguration' element in the XI Message header.
    Well, if I mark the FILENAME option on the adapter specific properties from the sender channel, I don't get the upper error. This gets me really confused...Why isn't enough to mark on the receiver channel?  But then, if the sender is marked, I get the sender filename on the receiver filename... weird.... :S
    Related to the UDF, it's not necessary to create any, since I don't need to access the filename from the original message, right?
    Can you guys explain me this awkward situation?

    >>1. Enable Variable substitution on the sender channel
    you need to enable Variable substitution on receiver side not on sender side.
    you are mixing up Adapter specific message attributes and variable substitution.
    though both server pretty much the same purpose,ASMA can be considered as an advanced form of Variable substitution and it gives you better control over adapter attributes.
    to name your files based upon some value of the payload simply use variable substitution and don't do anything with ASMA.
    1. Enable Variable substitution on the <b>Receiver</b> channel
    2. Create a variable and place it the reference to the message payload.
    3. Define the filename as %variable%.xml

  • Feature Request : Export (3rd Option)

    When I re-export from a catalogue I am working on, sometimes I am exporting images I have exported before.
    So . . . Lightroom asks me: Do you want to
    a. Overwrite exixting files or
    B. Create unique filenames.
    . . . which, BTW -in my humble opinion, is flawed anyway since the unique filenames do not appear in the file listing anywhere near their companion.
    Example: Img008 does not get a uniquely named copy like Img008-b, but instead gets something like copy-Img008 - which does not allow for quick side-by-side comparisons in an image browser.
    (SO: Unique filename option should be fixed!)
    But there should also be a third option: (the real reason I write)
    C. Ignore duplicates (Do not overwrite or create new file when there is already an existing file.) This will save my computer lots of processing time trying to re-export over existing files.
    Now for arguments sake, you could tell me just to not select the pre-existing exported files when I export, but in my particular case, that would involved nearly as much brain power as not doing it consumes computer time, since I have already exported selected non-sequential files for my first export, and I'll be damned if I can remember which ones they were until the export "expert" tells me which files are about to be duplicated.

  • Sort by filename?

    Hi, I've just started using PSE and I'm in need of a little help. I'm trying to print off over 2000 photos in a certain order, but I've found that there doesn't seem to be any order by filename option? Putting the photo's into filename order is critical, going into folder location does not help and the prospect of sorting >2000 photos into albums doesn't seem like an enticing prospect.
    Does the 'Organizer" honestly not have this simple feature? Won't be buying after trial ends if this is the case.

    Taking a shot at answering your inquiry. Answer may not be what you want.

    I have many picture files scanned & digitized from old slides, and in Windows 7, they show up as depicted in the print screen in Details View. If you right click, it brings up a context menu from which you can rename. This function may be restricted as to numbers that one can rename.

  • Losing filename on export

    OK, so using LR 2.4 and in my workflow I renamed my photos earlier than normal in an effort to better organize. Now everything is done and I am ready to export to a "finished folder" but lightroom is trying to export based on the original filename and I want to use the current filename. The file is currently named correctly when I go into the folder but on export LR wants to use the original name and I cannot find a way to change any of the presets in the export dialogue to allow me to use the CURRENT filename on export not the original
    Any ideas, other than renaming after export next time?

    Ed.Macke wrote:
    LR wants to use the original name
    What makes you say this? Are you exporting the files and looking at the names in Explorer/Finder? Or is there something in the Export window that says this?
    For this reason. I have renamed the file using F2 as visible in this image.
    however when I go to export to a finished folder t save all my changes and post to web/send some for printing I get this
    I won't allow me to use the CURRENT filename. If I open the actual Windows folder where the file sits on the PC it is named correctly but on export LR wanst to use the OLD filename. If I go into this dialog further I get oprions to add #s and special text but nothing that allows me to use the current filename. If I choose filename options I get "filename" with several variations and I get "Orginalfilename". In my case functionally they are the same, they only allow the original filename

  • InfoSpoke fails with message "Could not open file on application server"

    BW Experts,
    I created an InfoSpoke that is configured to extract to a flat file. The name of the file is specified using a logical filename. During extraction, the infospoke reports the error message "Could not open file on application server" adnd  marks the extraction process as red(failed). I have tried to run the InfoSpoke in background mode and in dialog mode and the same error appears. After i run in dialog mode, i checked SU53 for authorization errors and did not find any. I also tried changing the Logical filename setup in transaction FILE to a more "friendly" directory in which i'm sure i have authorizations (e.g. my UNIX home directory) and im still getting errors.
    Can you please share your thoughts on this? Any help will greatly appreciated. I also promise to award points.

    Hi Nagesh,
    Thanks for helping out.
    If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to a file using "File Name" option and also check the "Application server" checkbox, the extract works correctly (extraction to the defualt SAP path and filename=infospoke name). If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to the local workstation, the InfoSpoke also works correctly. It's only when i configure it to download to the application server and use the "Logical filename" option, that i encounter a failed extract.

  • I have a few hundred duplicates in my iPhoto library, but the file sizes are different.  So one is 1.3mb and one is 567kb.  I want to delete the smaller ones, but short of comparing each duplicate, is there a way to do this?

    I have a few hundred duplicates in my iPhoto library, but the file sizes are different.  So one is 1.3mb and one is 567kb.  I want to delete the smaller ones, but short of comparing each duplicate, is there a way to do this?  I've been looking at Duplicate Annhilator but I don't think it can do it.
    Thanks!

    I just ran a test with iPhoto Library Manager, Duplicate Annihilator, iPhoto Duplicate Cleaner, Duplifinder and Photodedupo.  I imported a folder of 5 photos into a test library 3 times, allowing iPhoto to import duplicates.  I then ran the 5 photos thru resizer to reduce their jpeg compression but all other aspects of the file the same.
    None of the duplicate removal apps found set that was reduced in the file resizer. That's probably due to the fact that the file creation date was being used as a criteria and the resized photo would have a different file creation date even though the Image Capture date was the same.
    They all found the 3 regular duplicates and some of them would mark two and leave the 3rd unmarked.  iPhoto Duplicate Cleaner can sort the found duplicates by file size but if the file was edited to get the reduced file size it might not be found as it would have a different file creation/modification date.
    iPhoto Library Manage was able to find all duplicates and mark them as such if the file names were the same the the filename option was selected.  Otherwise it also missed the modified, resized version.  It allowed one to select the one photo to save before going to work on the library.
    So if a photo has been reduced in image quality or pixel size it will not be considered a duplicate.

  • Java.io.File only returns similar file names

    I have written a bean which reads a directory and places the file names in an array, which can be accessed by a JSP page. At first, the files inside the directory were named wb_1.jsp, wb_2.jsp, wb_3.jsp and so on. When I change a filename to something like work.jsp, it still appears in the file list, but when I rename it to something like identify.jsp, it doesn't!
    If I count the array, it does read the correct number of files.
    Class FileHandler
    // Imports
    import java.io.File;
    // Class
    public class FileHandler
         // Constants and variables
         public File dir;
         public File[] files;
          * Returns the number of files found inside the given directory
         public int showFiles()
              try
                   setDir(getDir());     // Get file directory as set in the bean property
                   files = dir.listFiles();     // List the files found inside the directory
              catch (Exception e)
                   System.out.println(e + " : No files found to return a value");
              return files.length;      // Return the number of files
          * Returns the file name by using the in value in the files array
         public String returnFileName(int in)
              return files[in].getName();     // Return the name of the file
          * Sets dir file type to the setproperty value in
         public void setDir(File in)
              dir = in;     // Set class variable value for dir
          * Returns the dir value
         public File getDir()
              return dir;     // Return the setproperty value for dir
    }And the JSP code which reads the array
    out.println("<select onChange=\"jumpMenu('top',this,0)\" size=\"5\" style=\"width: 200\"");
    String fileName = new String();
    for(int x=0; x<file.showFiles(); x++)
         fileName = file.returnFileName(x);
         out.println("<option selected value=\"beheer.jsp?action=2&file=" +  fileName + "\">" +  fileName +"</option>");
    out.println("</select>");

    I forgot bean properties im the above code lines. Here it is, just in case.
    <jsp:useBean id="file" class="FileHandler" scope="page" />
    <jsp:setProperty name="file" property="dir" value="C:\\IBM Websphere workspace\\Project\\Web Content\\WEB-INF\\include" />

  • Variable substitution or dynamic configuration

    Hi,
       I am doing Proxy sender to File receiver scenario. I have message payload like,
    MTtest1..... 0..1
    date.... 0..1
    item....0...unbound
    I want to create a text file  with the name SAP<date>.
    I am using a variable substitution method, date: payload: MTtest1, 1, date, 1
    Target directory: SAP%date%
    I am getting the filename correctly, But this creates a blank line in the top of the file. Please suggest me how to overcome this issue.
    If a send the date at the end, how the it must be written in variable substitution method.
    If I need to use dynamic configuration, please tell me how to do that, i saw few blogs, but i am not able to get it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sri

    Dear Arunsri,
    Better to use Dynamic Confi method becs its recommended by SAP also.
    Please Follow the below steps.
    (1)Create the UDF and pass Filename as an Input parameter as shown here.
    public String Set_Output_File_Name(String var_Filename, String var_Directory, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
        .getTransformationParameters()
        .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    conf.put(key, var_Filename);
    return  "TRUE";
    (2)In File receiver adapter configuration, select the Adapter Specific message attributes and in that select the Filename Option.
