Filename variable without .fm extension?

I would like to create a filename variable, but without the .fm suffix. Could those of you more experienced than I let me know if this is possible?
Any help would be really appreciated.

Initial guesses:
don't use an extension on the actual file
hand-typed variable

Interestingly, using a link ("shortcut" on Windows) that lacks and extension, still ends up with the full original file name expressed by the system vars.

  • Web pages without file extensions

    Hi All
    I have Mac OS X Server 10.5 running on a mac mini, i have set up my own single web page through server admin and i am able to access it perfectly by typing in safari http://intranet.
    but the question i have is whenever i click on any link's on my page it will bring that page up but in the address bar have for eg http://intranet/blog/index.html
    is there anyway to have it so it just says http://intranet/blog/
    I am pretty new to this and am totally confused, i am not sure if i need to alter the code of the web pages. i have looked in the code and it is all href to a page but without the extension on it.
    Please could someone help
    Thanks

    It's not entirely clear what it is you're asking.
    Are you saying you never want to see the filename in the address bar and that you want the address bar to always show http://intranet/blog/ ?
    If so the simple answer is no - at least not with standard web programming. The only way you could is by using advanced techniques using DHTML/AJAX or something similar where you load content in the background and change the display rather than loading a whole new page. This is truly an advanced technique.
    If my understanding of what you're trying to do is wrong, please post more details of what it is you're trying to do.

  • Serving Text files without html extension as html pages

    I have a large site that has a number of legacy html files with no extensions. The site was running under 10.3 just fine. Just reinstalled 10.4 and now these pages are rendered as plain text in the browser.
    I've tried adding a blank entry in the extensions under the text/html mime/type setting but doing so creates an error which stops the server. I've got hundreds of these files stored for several years that I don't want to go back through and add a .html on the end of.
    How can I get the web server to treat a file without an extension as an html file?

    I know this isn't an answer to the question you're asking, but are you sure you want that behavior? There might be times where you want an extensionless file to be loaded as a plain text file. At the very least, it will help make your site more compatible.
    If all these files are collected in the same area on your system, it might be best to give them the .html extension.
    You can do this relatively painlessly with virtually any scripting language. I know I've even seen an AppleScript that will go through a batch and change the extension for you. You might want a modified one that will first check for the start/end HTML tags in the file first to make sure you're only changing HTML files. A quick Google search for scripting a filename change will probably yield lots of results (check Perl and PHP resource sites as well).

  • How to use single ant build script to package the application with and without native extensions

    Hi,
    I am using iOS native extensions for Adobe air. For this I am listing the extensions in the application descriptor file. Since the package with native extensions are meant to run only on device, I want my build script to work without native extensions too to be able to run on simulator. Is this manadatory that I need two separate application descriptors/basically two build scripts to compile and package them? Please suggest and let me know if more explanation is needed.
    Thanks,
    Swathi.

    Hi
    This is a known issue addressed by CR205204
    As you said, IBM actually does not have rt.jar in its JDK - they have moved contents of rt.jar into various jars.
    IBM is not using org/apache/crimson/tree/ in their JDK at all.So the error shows up in the end of build even if it succeeds
    You may need to add crimson.jar to wlwBuild classpath, since it is not part of IBMs JDK.
    Note: the build will work even w/o crimson.jar giving a non build related IDE exception in the very end.
    Thanks

    why are you wanting to use single frames?
    They allow having the initial frame address stay in the
    address bar, and not
    show the linked page's address. The problems they cause
    usually override any
    value.
    Or- if we aren't using the same words the same way, please
    give an example

  • How do I print to a postscript file with InDesign CS6 without both extensions, .indd.ps?

    How do I print to a postscript file without an .indd extension in InDesign CS6? I choose Print, choose a print preset from my print shop and Save. The first time I tried it was blank (the Hide Extension was checked), so I tried to save and got a dialog box that said it cannot be saved as an .indd file (duh), to choose both or .ps. I chose .ps and it was fine, but every time I postscripted it gave me this dialog box until I unchecked Hide Extension. After I did that, every time I postscript it automatically saves both extensions. Not a big deal but it is annoying. I just want it to end with .ps like it used to. Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks!!

    I have no idea but I am incredibly curious...why are you doing this?
    Printing to postscript is a completely archaic workflow. Export to PDF
    instead.

  • Transport  of BPS planning area (variables) without transp. all pl. levels

    Hi!
    Can anybody advice me, how to transport new variables which I have created to a planning area, without transporting all planning levels which belong to it?
    I transported a few planning levels that include the new variables I created to the planning area. As a result, the planning levels are transported but the new variables are missing. I don´t want to transport the whole planning area, since it contains a development which is not ready yet. Can I transport the missing variables with SE15 (how?) or is there some other way to do it?
    Grateful for any help,
    Sari

    Sari,
       Please execute program UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL and transport your variables without transporting any level or area.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

    Thanks,

    Thanks. My file was not proper. I am able to open the file without the extension.

  • Local variable without frontpanel object

    is there a possibility to create local variables without the need of a frontpanel object? I need zhem for program ccontrolontrol but don't want to show them to the user.
    Thanks a lot,
    greetings from Germany
    Karin

    Lynn, Marc, and "tbob",
    Thanks for your replies.  I detect the common theme of keeping my variables in bundles, but I'm not experienced enough to see how to apply this to my problem of communicating between parallel event handlers.  If you have the time and patience, I have attached a very simple example of what goes on in my program.
    I have three independent systems:  a motion system that carries around a microscope and digital camera.  Each system has its own event handler.  The motion system responds to user commands to move the microscope around, the microscope handler responds to changes in focus, zoom, etc, and the camera event handler continuously snaps pictures to provide a "live" image.
    But sometimes the loops need to talk to each other. For example, autofocusing is handled by the camera event handler, because it is based on image contrast, and that is the event handler that is acquiring the images.  So that means the camera event handler should take over the microscope during auto focus.  So the microscope event handler needs to be prevented from trying to get in on the act.
    So here is what the example illustrates:  some motion has just ended "normally".  The timeout event in the motion system signals the camera system to perform an auto focus (and waits for the focus to complete before allowing any movement).  The camera system signals the microscope system to perform a "stop" event, does the auto focus, releases the microscope from the stop event, and signals back to the motion loop that auto focus is done.
    I, of course, thought this kind of thing was very clever!  More experienced Labviewistas may have other opinions....

  • Proc*C/C++ suport for include files without .h extensions

    We have written code C++ code which is Standard C++ ver 5.0 compilant. In this version of C++ compiler the files are without .h extensions. For example <iostream.h> is now to be reffered as <iostream>. We are facing problems in compiling this code with PCC compiler
    Sample Code:
    File test1.h
    #ifndef TEST1H
    #define TEST1H
    #include<iostream>
    #include<list>
    class test
    private:
    int i;
    public:
    int k;
    #endif
    File test1.pc
    #include <iostream>
    #include<test1.h>
    int main()
    int i;
    std::cout << "Enter a value :";
    std::cin >> i;
    std::cout << std::endl;
    return 0;
    When this code is compiled with Code=cpp CPP_SUFFIX=cpp PARSE=PARTIAL options we get the following errors
    Pro*C/C++: Release 8.1.5.0.0 - Production on Fri Feb 1 12:46:00 2002

    Error at line 3, column 9 in file test1.h
    #include<iostream>

    Error at line 4, column 9 in file test1.h
    #include<list>
    ........1
    PCC-S-02015, unable to open include file
    I guess so PCC compiler does not identify include files without .h extension.

    Do you have the SUNWhea package on your system? This package contains the headers you seem to be missing. It's on the Solaris 8 CDROM 2 of 2. If you don't know how to add packages from the CDROM, look up "Adding and Removing Software After Installing Solaris 8" in the "Solaris 8 Advanced Installation Guide" on docs.sun.com.

  • How do we initialize DAL variables without making changes to INI files?

    We have an application which currently use only two DALs. We would like to add a DAL to popluate certain data on the form. We have encountered an issue with initialization of dal vairables.
    One of the solutionis that set FlushDalSymbo = Yes in the FSISYS file.
    However, this involves INI file change which we would like to avoid.
    So, is there a way to initialize dal variables, without making changes to INI files? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Bala

    Hi Bala,
    Initializing a variable is simple, you just need to set the value to blank or zero:
    Variable = ""
    #Variable =0
    $Variable = 0.00
    You can place the declaration at the beginning of your script, of course replacing "Variable" with the actual name of you variable.

  • Proc*C/C++ support for header files without .h extension.

    Does Pro*C/C++ compiler suppport include files without .h extensions.??
    The following code written in a .pc file, which is compilant to Standard C++ 5.0 standards when compiled with Pro*C/C++ compiler to generate a .cpp gives errors
    #include<isotream>
    int main()
    std::cout << "Test";
    return(1);
    On compilation it gives following problems:
    #include <iostream>
    .........1
    PCC-S-02015, unable to open include file
    Standard C++ version 5.0 has all the include files without .h extension. Does any version of Pro*C/C++ support that?
    Lata

    The normal way to handle this is with the -I option on the compile line:
    cc -I/usr/ucbinclude -c myprog.c ...
    Is there a reason you can't use the -I option?

  • How to swap two string variables without using a 3rd variable?

    How to swap two string variables without using a 3rd variable?
    ex.
    A = "aa"
    B = "bb"
    Result required
    A = "bb"
    B = "aa"
    Thanks

    How to swap two string variables without using a 3rd
    variable?
    Something like this.
    Append A with B (so A equals "aabb")
    Set B equal to a substring of A starting with the first character and ending at A's length minus B's length. (So B equals "aa")
    Set A equal to a substring of A starting from B's length and ending at the end of A. (So A equals "bb")

  • Define and change variables without redeploy

    Hello there,
    what i want to accomplish (and have tried in vain so far) is to define a variable 'jndi_url' for my web application and change the value for that variable without redeploying the application or restarting the weblogic server.
    When i set the variable for example in the web.xml everything works, but to change the value i would have to redeploy the application. :-(
    Then i experimented with a deployment plan, but that seems to configure only a predefined set of variables, like the session timeout, etc.
    I thought this should be a simple task and i hope somebody can help me out.
    Thanks for any answers to this!

    david,
    back to the root of my question:
    I do use an 10 years old low-end sql / plsql-tool where I can simple and fast do sql-things like that:
    select col1, col2 into :bind1, :bind2 from mybasictable_10 where col3 = 'for_example_ABCD':
    select * from mytable_b where b1 = :bind1 and b2 = :bind2 ;
    select * from mytable_c where c1 = :bind1 and c2 = :bind2 ;
    select * from mytable_d where d1 = :bind1 and d2 = :bind2 ;
    select * from mytable_e where e1 = :bind1 and e2 = :bind2 ;
    I would like to use oracles SQL-Developer instead of this 'old' tool,
    and want to use my 'old' sql / plsql scripts
    but the SQL-Developer in this matter seems is to much complicate to use,
    I can do complex and big things with sql-dev,
    but not simple using bind-variables ;-)( .
