Files and Desktop Shortcut gone??

I seem to have lost all of the forms I created in the Adobe FormsCentral File and the desktop shortcut is missing. Any ideas what could have happened? Additionally, all of the forms I created and saved at *.pdfs using FormsCentral created forms are missing from folders. ????

Hi;
Did you resolve this or do you still not see your shortcut and PDFs?  FormsCentral doesn't have any control over those PDFs you saved after you save them and could not remove them, the desktop shortcut could have been deleted on accident and could be restored easily.
Are you still able to launch the FormsCentral desktop application?
Thanks,
Josh

  • Quick Launch and Desktop Shortcuts

    Every time I upgrade Safari it installs new quick launch and desktop shortcuts - why?
    Can this avoided... Obsolete ones stop working, new ones link to exactly the same place (often) and really Apple should be asking if we 'want' these short cuts in the first place... it a pain to keep deleting and swapping them about just because Apple decide to upgrade.
    I have no other software that does this.
    Does anyone have a work around?

    The LabVIEW installer itself cannot create shortcuts on the desktop or remove older versions of itself. You can create an executable to create shortcuts and have your installer launch that executable. But for more complicated things like uninstalling previous versions, you might want to look into a third party installer like Wise or InstallShield.
    LabVIEW 6.1 does not really have any installer features that 6.0 did not. 6.1 does use an MSI installer instead of the previously used Wise installer. Theoretically, one might be able to use a utility like Orca from Microsoft to customize the MSI installer, but editing MSI files will not be supported by National Instruments.

  • ALL DOWNLOADS DISTORT ALL FILES AND DESKTOP

    WINDOWS XP PRO 32. internet explorer 8. I HAVE INSTALLED AND UNINSTALLED READER AND FLASH PLAYER SEVERAL TIMES, WITH SAME RESULTS, WITH AND WITHOUT GOOGLE CHROME SELECTED.
    ALL Files and desktop  are so large they can not be navigated.

    A screen shot might be better, but try this anyway.
    If you haven't already rebooted, do so.
    Right click an empty bit of the desktop.
    Choose Properties
    Click Appearance
    Look under Font Size: make sure it is NORMAL.

  • Lightroom crashed EVERY SINGLE file and photograph is gone! There is a file on my screen bearing the title of what I was looking at prior to the crash, but says, "DATA". What IS that and where did all of my stuuf go??

    A few nights ago a message appeared in Lightroom, but before I could read it, it shut down. Yesterday, I opened it up again to resume with my assignment and it said my files were damaged. On the third try I got my work and all went well. Today as I was looking at my newest images and flagging them, Lightroom shut down 'again'. This time it took every saved file and photograph. I noticed a weird file on my monitor screen thereafter, "DATA........Irdata. What is that? If this is where everything is, how do I get it back....and into Lightroom? What is happening?

    Could you post a screen capture of your (User name)> My Pictures> Lightroom folder. Like the posted screen capture.

  • Finder is seemingly empty and files on Desktop are gone?

    I have no idea why this happened but now when I open Finder, my desktop, documents, applications and everything else don't show the files I know are there. I also had several files on my desktop that are no longer showing. This is really annoying because I can't access my documents and downloads which I really need to get to right now. I can't think of anything I did to have triggered this but its been like this for at least a few days.
    I have a Macbook Pro and Lion.
    Thanks for your help!

    If all else fails you can reinstall the operating system. That's what Apple told me to do when I accidently deleted my "All my files" folder in Finder. I don't know if it works for older operating systems. But it definitely works in 10.7.3. You turn your computer off. When you turn it back on, hold down the Command, Option and R keys together. The computer will automatically download the operating system and reinstall.

  • Temps Files and Desktop Clutter

    This is my first Mac and learning the quirks can be challenging at times.
    I would like to stop the temp files from saving to my desktop, as I am getting really tired of having to delete 10-15 files every single day (help for this on the Windows side under Parallels would be appreciated too, as it is doing the same thing there.)
    As found on several sites when searching the internet, I changed Safari and Firefox-Mac version- to /tmp, as that should have stopped files from saving to the desktop. It hasn't.
    So I am appealing for help as it is really driving me nuts having all that clutter on my desktop for no reason and they don't go away when you shut down and reboot and having to delete each one is a pain.

    I am having the same problem. Whenever I download a file from a website, open an attachment in my email, or open a file on a USB stick, it gets saved to my desktop. I have been through every preferences menu I can find for the Mac and in each application, and I cannot seem to stop this happening. It's really annoying! I also don't want all this clutter saved in my Downloads folder. What I would like is the usual "TEMP" folder which gets cleared out when I shut down.
    Anyway, I am a new Mac user; this problem has stumped other experienced Mac users I know and the IT support people at my work. So if anyone out there knows a solution to this problem, please pass it on to me.

  • Opened the pop up password recovery window and it said not responding and when started responding all my passwords from the laptop and desktop were gone

    I opened the options>>security>>saved passwords pop up and clicked on show passwords and it said *not responding* for a bit and when it started responding my 100+ passwords and user names were all gone and the window was totally clear....any idea how to recover all those passwords?

    You need a backup copy or previous versions of the key3.db and signons.sqlite files to restore the passwords stored via the Password Manager.

  • Tried playin my ipod nano 6th gen on my xbox 360. Everything was good till today when i was told how to get it  to work. Then all of a suden all the files and songs were gone on my ipod. now my network connection cant find my ipod.

    Does any body know how i possibly messed up my ipod. After i plugged it in today i think i uninstalled somthing i shouldnt have. None of the devices read it as an Ipod but a usb mass storage. Itunes cant even bring it up. Plz some help

    From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
    They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • How to restore file and folder labels

    Apple does it again. File and folder lables gone and little colored dots take their place. Apple at least give users the choice. That's choice, spelled C-H-O-I-C-E!!!

    http://www.trankynam.com/xtrafinder/
    Hopefully that may work on your Mac. NOW, This is a Design/Ease of Use as well as a Efficiency/Workflow issue. I am using an IMac, c 2012 recently upgraded from 10.8.6 to the current version of Mavericks. Please restore Finder labels. Give us a CHOICE. All your young eyes don't see things the way us folks who are 60-something do. I have been using a Mac for 20 years. You removed colored folders before & restored before. Do it AGAIN. This is terrible. & ALSO, why does TextEdit print SO LARGE? It used to reduce the doc to try to fit it in on the paper. Now it makes the same documents PAGES LONG. I can't seem to make it work as before. For God's sake, bring back colored folders. Its not just me. I have time to complain. EVERYBODY I know hates the little colored dots. They do not serve the same purpose as Tags.  Even the major professors at FIT NYC, the college I am an adjunct at, for the last 30 years. Why, for the FIRST time in my 18 year relationship to Macs, do I feel compelled to use plug in??? Is that the only way to get my colored folders again??? I hate the way the screen slips to the side also, and windows maximize with the slip of the mouse, also. Get it together Apple!

  • Desktop is Gone, Mail and Safari were reset and a host of other problems

    So, I opened my iMac G5 today and the first thing I noticed was that some of my widgets were gone, particularly all the ones that didn't come with the OS X installation (meaning the other ones I downloaded from different sites). And then I noticed that I couldn't access any of my mail when I looked at them in Mail. I was given an error message that read something like this: "you cannot view this message. it has not be downloaded from the server. you must go online". So anyway, I decided to shut down and turn my computer on again. And I was shocked to see that my desktop was gone, and my wallpaper had reverted back to the default wallpaper (but I was atleast able to find all the files that used to be on my desktop). And now, Mail has been reset (meaning, when I launch it, it asks me to set up a new account). iChat has been reset the same way as well. And for some very odd reason, my Safari browser has lost it's tabbed browsing ability, and I've lost all my bookmarks. I checked the version, and it says 2.0.4. Did I somehow revert back to on older version of Safari. So far, those are the only problems I've discovered. I'm terribly hesitant to turn my computer off again in fear that I might lose some more files for good.
    Anyway, I have an idea of what the culprit might be. I downloaded this program from VEOH.com and decided to uninstall it last night. It came with an "uninstall how to" that asked me to type some stuff in Terminal (I knew I should have just kept that **** program!). This is what it asked me to type:
    prompt> sudo /Applications/Veoh.app/Contents/Resources/uninstallveoh.sh
    And then Terminal asked for my admin password, and I hit the Return key. Would anyone know, if this is what could be causing me all these problems? I also recently installed Yahoo 3.0 Beta 1. It conflicts with Mail. I can't open Yahoo 3.0 when Mail is running.
    Also, I found the bookmarks.plist file for Safari. I'm wondering if I can somehow do something with this file so that I can get my old bookmarks back. Would really appreciate any help!
    Ugh! I feel like a such a Windows user right now.

    Hi, Barry.
    Thanks for the reply! I've found all of my files (the ones that used to be on my old desktop), and I've been able to restore my bookmarks and all my old mail. Also, I just had to recheck "enable tabbed browsing" in Safari Preferences. I think I just figured out what I did wrong: I renamed my "home" folder. I was gonna change it back to it's original name, but I forgot to. Stupid me. So after restarting, I think it just moved all of my files into a new folder which I can still access by going to Macintosh HD >>> Users. All the files are there, including the widgets that I thought were missing. So now, I essentially have 4 folders under users, but I only have 3 user accounts. You think I can restore everything back to normal by just copying all of the old files back into my home folder again? But at any rate, I think I can live with having all my files just living in another folder. I lost my old "music", "pictures" and "movies" icons though (the ones at the left sidebar of the Finder window). Those are the only things I can't seem to find. So I just downloaded new icons.
    What's a good brand of external firewire drives? I'm thinking of getting a Maxtor OneTouch III. Would you recommend that?

  • Saved Digital ID to desktop, all desktop files and folders immediately vanished from computer

    I was signing a document in Abobe Reader, and instructed to create a new digital ID in order to do so.
    when I did this, I chose to save the digital ID to the desktop, replacing whatever its original destination to be saved to was.
    when I hit finish, every single file and folder on my desktop vanished from my laptop (Macbook air running OSX Yosemite) completely. I have searched everyone and gone through a live chat with an Apple specialist who has had access to my screen and cannot find anything. All files and folders, music and photos that were not on my desktop are still here. I have tried re-starting.
    Does anyone have any idea what has happened and how to fix it? I am a graduate student and part of my dissertation was on my desktop. I am an idiot for not having backed it up properly, and will be buying an external hard drive and using Time Machine immediately.

    Hello Elizabeth,

    I see that Adobe Support has contacted you directly and is working with you on this issue.

  • To create a desktop shortcut icon for the application for a jar file

    Hi
    I have created a jar file for my application. when i double click this jar file, the application opens.
    What i want is--
    Instead of user clicking on the jar file, my application also has to create a desktop shortcut icon.
    If the user clicks on the icon which is on the desktop the application should open.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks in advance.

    >
    Please suggest me.>Launch the application using java webstart. A webstart launch offers things like a splash screen, automatic updates, and desktop integration in the form of desktop shortcuts and program menu items. If the launch file specifies icons, they are used for the shortcuts, otherwise a generic icon is used.
    For a comparison between a sandboxed webstart launch and a plain app., try the [Text Width Checker|http://pscode.org/twc/].
    While the TWC can run OK within the security sandbox, many applications need to be digitally signed and request extended permissions, to do what they need to do.
    STBC is an all-permissions webstart launch.
    Edit 1:
    And for one that definitely suggests desktop shortcuts (I usually avoid them, in favor of a menu item only), try the sandboxed [demo of the PrintService|http://pscode.org/jws/api.html#prs], which prompts the user to choose.

  • Syntax of the JNLP file (web start) for JFX to allow desktop shortcut/icon?

    I'm having a hard time getting this to work. I'm using NetBeans v7.1.2. First of all - the resulting .jnlp file comes with the applet, as well as the application specification. The classloader is different in both of the cases from what I've seen.
    <applet-desc width="800" height="600" main-class="com.javafx.main.NoJavaFXFallback" name="jwsapp" >
    <param name="requiredFXVersion" value="2.0+"/>
    </applet>
    <jfx:javafx-desc width="800" height="600" main-class="jwsapp.Main" name="jwsapp" />
    What I did was edit out the applet part - now there is no entry in the "Type" of application in the javaws cache, it's simply blank. And it's still launched as an applet (judging by the console trace). Now we have "<jfx:javafx-desc", instead of application-desc? What does that affect? Is it safe to just fallback to 'application-desc' (then the type is properly detected)? I haven't been able to find any info on this whatsoever.
    Shortcuts.. I have Java 2.1.1 installed and this:
              <shortcut online="false">
                   <desktop/>
              </shortcut>
    does absolutely nothing for me. The shortcut never appears (even though this addition to .jnlp was designated by NetBeans). Moreover, how would I go about attaching icons to this shortcut?
    Does anyone have a working .jnlp example, that is actually able to allocate a shortcut with a predefined icon on the desktop? Thank you.

    It works fine for me.
    I'm using latest FX samples and latest 7u6 on Mac OS X.
    Tested with slightly modified version of BrickBreaker.jnlp that includes
    <shortcut online="false">
    <desktop/>
    </shortcut>
    and the shortcut is always created to me.
    Could you please try the latest 7u6 build?
    If it's still reproducible, please file a new bug at http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/
    and also could you please attach an example to reproduce the problem?

  • New create desktop shortcut GPO is causing 1030 and 1058 errors on a Windows 2003 terminal server

    Primary DC: Win2012.  BDC: Win2008. Clients: Win7, Win8.1.  Maintaining an old Win2003 terminal server to run legacy software.
    Everything works fine for a look time until I added a new GPO to create a desktop shortcut on the client machines, Windows 2003 runs into Error 1030 (Cannot query list of GPO) and Error 1058 (Cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO, The system cannot find
    the path specified) GP processing aborted).
    Tried changing the GPO to target Win7 and 8.1 only.  Tried creating shortcut using Computer Config settings only as well as User Config settings only.  Deleting the GPO and creating it from scratch.  Nothing works, as soon as GPO is in place,
    it disables the Win2003 from processing any other GPO.
    No issue with the client machines or other Windows servers.
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    Roget Luo

    Hi Roget,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Error 1030 and 1058 could be caused by many aspects.
    Firstly, please run the command dcdiag on the command prompt of a DC to check if there are any error.
    Secondly, make sure the DFS service is started on the domain controller, and set the Startup type to automatic.
    What's more, make sure the TCP/IP Helper service  is started on the domain co, set it to Automatic and started it.
