Files Don't Close when Project is Closed

Hi,
When I close an open project in the IDE, not all the files get closed. Some of them remain open in the JSC IDE, even though the project has been closed.
Would appreciate if the JSC team can acknowledge and fix the issue.
Regards
Haroon

Hi HaroonA,
In order to file a bug, I need a reproducible case. Is this consistently happening to you? How many projects are you working with when this happens? What files don't close (JSP/Java/Navigation.xml/etc.,)? If you can give me a scenario where this fails, I'll escalate the issue.
Thanks!
Sandeep

  • Vivado hardware server "hw_server" process doesn't close when server is closed

Vivado hardware server "hw_server" process doesn't close when server is closed.
Also, the connecting to the server hangs if a device is physically disconnected and reconnected (usually).
The "hw_server" process continually has to be killed via Task Manager, Vivado has to be closed and reopened sometimes as well.
    Using Vivado 2014.1
    Please fix this.

I'm on 2014.1 as well (Win7-64).  I have a similar problem with 2 different PCs running the same setup.  The Hardware Manager hangs while attempting some activity (usually reconfig).  I click "Cancel" to dismiss the activity, which causes all of Vivado to hang.  Seeing no other option, I kill Vivado in the Task Manager.  However, this has the unfortunate side effect of leaving an orphaned hw_server process that can't be killed by any means, thus requiring a reboot of the PC.
    This is monumentally annoying.
Can someone comment on whether this is due to a known issue, and if it's fixed in 2014.2?

  • Npviewer.bin (on linux) eats lots of CPU and doesn't even close when firefox is closed.

npviewer.bin (on linux) eats lots of CPU and doesn't even close when firefox is closed.

I've begun having this problem as well. Reviewing the above, I seen no errors that I' making. A few weeks ago, without being aware of an update to Firefox, it began behaving differently than it has for years. I've always had it set to open to an empty tab, now it often opens to the 'Firefox Home Page' (which I've never used)... this despite resetting my opening page to "Show my windows and tabs from last time" (upon troubleshooting the 'home page issue' I found that the opening page had reset to FF Home somehow. I store a lot of pages in tab groups and having them disappear is a major bummer since they're news articles I'm waiting to copy.
Also... I run CCleaner weekly and I know that will erase the group tabs I've stored so before running it I have to store those URL's another way. Does anyone know what I can uncheck in CCleaner to keep those tabs?
    Thanks.

  • Tabs don't close when I click more then 10 links

After updating to Firefox 11 a strange problem occurs when I click more then 10 links and try to close them: the links don't close and I have to close the window. This never happend before. I do some paid to click programs and have to click many links, so this is not very nice... Does anyone recognise this and is there already a fix for it?

  • File handles don't close when the pdf is closed?

Using Acrobat X on Windows 7 Pro in a networked environment.
Once I open a PDF file in Acrobat, as long as I have acrobat running, (even after I have closed the file and moved on) I cannot change/move/rename the file. Since I spend a lot of time reviewing information that comes to me in a pdf, I usually have multiple PDFs open, so to shut them all, rename/move/delete one file and then go back to find all the the items I was working with is an enormous hassle. I had this problem before, than it disappeared, now it has returned. Is this normal Acrobat behavior?  Or do I need to dig into network settings?

I tried what you suggested Matt G. and it didn't work. I googled my problem and it seems that other users of 10.0 have had the same problem. Basically, when a PDF is opened it "steals" the scroll function. The scroll function then only works in the PDF doc and nowhere else. As soon as the PDF is closed, the scroll function works again.
I have tried updating my plugins, have updated Adobe Reader, and tried your suggestion. I also tried a couple of other options suggested in the link you sent. No help.
    Any other ideas? Thank you.

  • Firefox don't close when "browsing and Download History" is deleted on exit

Firefox doesn't close properly in about 50 % of cases. When closing FF, the window closes but the process firefox.exe isn't terminated. When trying to open FF again you got the error message "Firefox is already running, but not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." After terminating the process firefox.exe in the windows task manager, FF can be started again.
Error only occurs when under "Options/Privacy/Use custom settings for history" at "Clear History when Firefox closes" the option "Browsing and Download History" is selected.
All other options selected or not don't cause the issue.
I switched this option it several times. When "Browsing and Download History" at "Clear History when Firefox closes" isn't selected, the error doesn't appear.
Reproducible regardless if "Remember my browsing history" and "Remember download history" are selected or not.
    Reproducible:
    - after new installation of Firefox (Firefox 29.0.1 german, Windows7 64-bit)
    - with different profiles, even with all addons disabled or running in safe mode
    - with new profile with no addons or dictionaries installed
    - with windows firewall turned off and deactivated antivirus program
    - with hardware accellaration on and off
I know the issue has already reported at bugzilla.mozilla.org and described at
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997918
    https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/997670
I want to describe the problem more precisely:
It only occurs when "Browsing and Download History" is delete on exit. The other option at "Clear History when Firefox closes" don't cause this issue.
Is there any other solution then to turn "Browsing and Download History" off?

From what I have been reading from other posts on this forum, the issue may
be caused by the clear history settings.
Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar.
Then '''Tools > Options > Privacy'''.
The button next to '''History''', select '''Use Custom Settings'''.
At the bottom of the page, turn on '''Clear History When Firefox Closes.'''
At the far right, press the '''Settings''' button. Turn on ONLY '''Cache''' and
'''Form And Search History''' leaving the others off.
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up.

  • 8th Core High even when Project is closed Logic X

I have a session were the 8th core is very high on the CPU meter. But when I close the session. I am auditioning sounds on the desktop via quicklook or Snapper. I see the 8th core on the CPU meter in logic is still high or peaking.
Is this normal. Is there a way to reset this without quiting logic and restarting it?
    thanks

This has been something of a thorny bone of contention in several discussions Pancenter.. I believe you are correct.. but, if a core is being used outside of Logic.. then does Logic's own meters take that into account or do they ignore it? If it ignores it then what is the real load on that core.. and would it overload even if Logics CPU meter wouldn't show it doing so?
I have never found anyone who really knew one way or the other.... and could prove it
This is why i don't trust Logic's CPU meters... I just don't think they accurately reflect true usage at times... which is why i suggest ignoring them unless you get a CPU overload message or you can actually hear audio issues etc...
Also, as i have come to realize since posting that.. certain plugins (when loaded) can do strange things in the background that can affect LPX's CPU meters.. like Massive for example, when it decides to reindex it's 'presets' after you save one new preset you create yourself.. LPX shows that activity in it's meters...
Much like mdworker/spotlight in the OS X Activity Monitor... Massive can run 'wild' for a while pushing up the CPU usage on one core.. and then it just stops again... The more presets in the database, the longer it takes and the more load it places on the CPU!
One last thing however with LPX... I've noticed some strange behaviour with Core load sharing.. On occasion the load sharing is just plain wrong/screwed up with loads being placed on only a couple of cores no matter how you try and manually spread the load yourself. Restarting CoreAudio usualy resolves this... and the same project will then playback showing loads spread across the various cores as you would normally expect them to do so.
I suspect there is still something screwy with LPX/CoreAudio/OS X in regards to this whole issue.

  • Can I set a preference so that files don't open when downloaded?

I'm downloading a series of video files.  I click on each link and they start downloading.  I might have several that are all downloading at once.  While they download I go on to work on something else.  However, when each file finishes downloading, the program I use to view the video opens and I have to take time to close it and go back to work.  Any suggestions?  I'm sure there is a simple solution.  Thanks.

Safari Preferences>General: at the bottom of the pane uncheck 'Open "Safe" files after downloading'.

  • Imported PSD files "jumping" on screen when project is exported

I created some graphics in Photoshop CS3 (version 10.0) and imported them as PSD files into my Premiere project (Premiere CS3 version 3.0.0 (374). These are simple photos with text overlays. I am importing the PSDs into Premiere as footage with merged layers.
When I render the video and watch it in Premiere, these graphics look fine. But when I export the project, the graphics "flicker"...appear to be slightly jumping up and down on screen. I have tried exporting as MPEG2 and as .wmv with the same results. I also tried replacing one of the PSDs with a JPEG but got the same result.
I tried using the anti-flicker settings in Premiere and that helps, but there is still flickering at the top of the screen and the anti-flicker settings also degrade image quality. Is there a better way to create a text-over-photo graphic with stroke and drop shadow other than doing it in Photoshop before importing to Premiere?
I am running Windows XP Professional on a Dell Optiplex 755.
I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

    Heather,
Ruud's links will probably answer most of your questions - great links BTW.
However, back in Photoshop, when you chose File>New (or Ctrl-n), you are presented with a dialog box, called "untitled... " Look slightly to the left and above the center and you'll see a drop-down. Most likely it'll say "Clipboard," or "Custom." Twirl it down and near the bottom you'll see NTSC presets and PAL presets. Choose the correct one for your Project. Basically 4:3 PAR 0.9 or 16:9 PAR 1.6. I use the preset with "Guides" so I have the Title Safe Area and the Motion Safe Area shown with Guides. Load up any background image that you might want, and size (Ctrl-t works great for this), and then create your Title with the Text Tool.
I Save_As to the required folder as .PSD and leave the Maximize Compatibility checked. Import this/these into PP. Unless you plan on doing some animation with the Layers, I just let PP Flatten the PSD.
    Hope this helps,
    Hunt

  • Keynote 3 files revert to Helvetica when Keynote is closed

I have a strange issue regarding Keynote.
When I create a new file, using for example the theme White I get a theme with the default font Gill Sans.
I then make some slides and save the files and close Keynote.
When I reopen the files, the font of all Master related objects has reverted to Helvetica, altough Gill Sans is perfectly nicely installed on my system.
I have deleted the prefs for Keynote, both in the system library and the user library, I have tested other themes than White, including Black, Gradient and
Does anyone of you have a clue what could be going on and how this can be solved?

    The last post was helpful.
The Icelandic Extras contains fonts that caused the problem.
The reason for Icelandic versions of the fonts is for Classic support. We have two super special charachters that cause us constant problems, not so much in Mac OS X, but they are a pain in the butt in OS 9 and the legacy Mac OS's.
I found a solution to this, with the help of the Apple Iceland specialist (actually the maker of the tiger extras package) and after investigating Font book, I noticed that I had 3 copies of Helvetica on the system. One on Classic, one in Library and the third and most recent one in System/Library.
Disabling the older versions of Helvetica solved the problem.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Why are .jpg files with text pixelated when projecting through Keynote?

I have a police report that I'm trying to project through Keynote as part of a larger presentation.  It projects beautifully if I just mirror the screen, but for purposes of the presentation I have to use Keynote and can't switch back and forth.  The text is so pixelated it's unusable and I've tried scanning at high resolution, but no luck.  I'm confused about it projecting fine when not going through Keynote, so I feel like there's maybe a setting in the software I'm missing.
    Any ideas?

The text is so pixelated it's unusable
The resolution of the projector will be much lower than the display connected to the Mac.
Therefore, with the projector connected and powered on, open System Preferences > Displays, in the settings window for the projector,  select scaled option and set to the highest pixel size listed.
I've tried scanning at high resolution, but no luck.
You have scanned a paper document?
Then scan to at least 1200 x 800 pixels, do not use a dpi or ppi setting in the scan software, use pixels, then save as a TIFF file.
I'm confused about it projecting fine when not going through Keynote, so I feel like there's maybe a setting in the software I'm missing.
Set the slide size in:   Inspector > Document > Document > Slide Size; use custom from the drop down menu and enter 1280 x 800
The inspector is the side panel on the right hand side

  • EMLX mail message files don't appear when I look at the folder in mail

I have a new imac. I am having troubles running mail.  I imported into mail mail folders ((on my mac)). When I open mail I can see some folders imported correctly with all messages within intact but some folders though appearing as mailbox folders are empty of messages.  I look in finder at the directory and can see emlx files in the folder.  I cannot get mail to recognise those messages.

Did you ever find an answer to this.  I just found the same problem.

  • Placed files don't update when changed

For some reason when I place PSD files into Illustrator, they no longer update when changed.
I've tried setting preferences to both 'Ask When Modified' and 'Automatically'...
It used to work OK, just in the past month or so it's stopped.
Also I notice that when I place a PSD file it is asking me if I want to flatten layers, which it didn't used to, as far as I remember.

    Right you iz.
You can always use the Place command to replace an embedded file with a linked one.
If you've got Shift or Shift Lock held down, files will embed when placed or dragged in from the finder, otherwise they'll be linked.
