Files have turned red

I've just upgraded to 09 and every page on iWeb has turned red, on both of my computers. I have tried uploading twice to MobileMe. Both times, after an hour or more, I'm told that the site can't be uploaded at this time.
Has this happened to others, I wonder? And does anyone have a solution please?

None of the suggestions offered here, while definitely worth trying, have helped me. Installing & launching iWeb 3/'09 instantly caused all pages and sites to go red, forcing me to re-publish everything.
Why a version upgrade would force a complete republishing of one's entire site seems odd, but the bigger problem for me is that MobileMe seems to refuse to take the re-pub attempt, failing with a different error message regarding a different file every time since Tuesday evening. Not a single one of these files, nor the site in general, gave me any problems under iWeb 2/'08 or prior to Tuesday evening.
The net effect is that my site has been dead for three days, and some part of this equation -- either MobileMe or iWeb 3/'09 -- is rendering it impossible for me to resurrect it.
I did get a small, 1-page, new site to publish last night, but the prospect of having to break down a previously trouble-free blog into tiny, bite-sized chunks is ridiculous. This is not a huge Domain file we're talking about, and no single file is over 2.4MB (an MP3).
I would welcome any suggestions that go beyond basic troubleshooting and address the real, persistent problems that many people here are seeing with iWeb 3/'09 and MobileMe since upgrading.

I have just made a small page to my site and attempted to load it to MM. It was taking a very long time, so I quit and opened iWeb again to load the page from fresh (this usually speeds up a slow load) only to find that every one of my files has suddenly turned red, which means that I have to load the whole lot - an even slower process, if it works (it doesn't always, I find).
Any idea why the files should go red, and has this happened to anyone else?

This seems to be "normal" behavior for '09 but not '08.
Because you quit during an upload, all the pages have not been transfered so iWeb is "seeing" them all as being new.
You'll just have to try to get them all to upload and then see if it will go back to "normal" behavior.

Images in my fla. have turned red

hi - i've just opened my fla file and most of the images have turned red. Any ideas?

Yes, Ned is correct. The original link to the image has been deleted.
@ Stubbed Toe, which version of Flash were you running? Did you rename the image, move folder with image inside, or rename folder?

You can undo the RAW Compatibilty Update 4.08 without a time machine backup!
In Finder go to MacIntosh HD > Systems > Library > Core Services
In that folder delete the following:
RawCamera.bundle
RawCameraSupport.Bundle
Then download Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.07 from the Apple suport pages. Here's the direct link:

The app store will then be telling you another update is available, meaning 4.08 which screwed us up in the frst place! Simply ignore the 4.08 update! Unless you are using one of the cameras listed as being added by 4.08:

By the way, I take no credit for this "solution" - I picked it up in another discussion thread on this subject.
However, I have been in voice contact with a Senior Support Specialist at Apple Care. The problem with Update 4.08 removing compatibilty for previously supported Nikon (and possibly other) files has been flagged to Apple's engineering.

My files have turned into Unix files!

I recently began transfering my sound libraries from a drive on my old G4 Dual 1.42Ghz to the drive on my "pre-owned" Dual 2.0Ghz G5.
I had a folder on my G4 with Rex files in them.
When I transfered them over to the G5, I noticed they had become Unix exec files? What are those? I think the files got swithced from Rex1 to Rex2 files, but I'm not 100% sure. How do I get my Rex files back for use in Logic and Reason etc....

I realize what it is. The Unix info is there until I install the application that created it. It shows the extention .rx2 but the file icon displays it an 'exec' file.
I've been switching everything over to my G5 and had not installed Recycle yet. Those Rex files were all created with Recycle. Once I installed Recycle and opened that folder again, they all had the blue Rex/Recycle icon. They were fine.
It would be great if Logic could read the exec/Unix/.Rx2 files, in case I didn't need or want to install Recycle? Which I didn't, cause I don't use it much anymore. I tried to drag the Unix/exec/.Rx2 file into Logic but it wasn't recognized. After all, Logic does play Rex files...

Some of my desktop icons have turned white

Some of my desktop icons(.docx and .json files) have turned white. They open alright, but the icons have turned white. I have Windows 8.1 OS. Please help me out.

This might be caused by service conflict, I suggest to perform a clean boot in this way:
1.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.
2.Type msconfig in the search box, and then tap or click msconfig.
3.On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
4.On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
5.On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.
6.Close Task Manager.
7.On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.

All roles suddently turned red!

Please tell me what goes wrong... Today we found out that all our roles have turned red. The authorisation and user tabs have red light in all roles, and they are not generated. Alot of new values (with status "new") have come in, e.g. more than 20 new entries found under PLOG, P_ORGIN was brough in although we should be using the context solution. This gotta be something to do with some activation in SU24. User comparison doesn't help in this case. Do we need to manually go through each role to make the fixing, or is there a better way? What is the reason causing this?
Not sure I should call this a lucky thing still, it happens only in our test client.

User tab on red can be normal if there are no users assigned. The auth tab on red is definitely a bad thing. In the auth tab it should tell you who made the last update.
SU24 will not cause this problem. I update SU24 like white on rice but it will not make changes to any roles till I PFCG with expert gen.
Are your roles SAP delivered roles?

FCPX project turned red overnight. "Modified Files".

I spent three hours editing a talent show video for my school on my iMac. We used two Canon HFM41 cameras shooting in HD. I imported the clips and created a multicam clip and edited the clip with no problems. I stsrted uploading the project to YouTube before going to bed and woke up to a disaster. One of the camera angle clips and the multicam clip in the Event Browser had turned red with "Modified File". I have done this before many times successfully but not since upgrading to Mavericks. Please help me. Thank you.

You most likely have the clipping indicator on that shows you blown out areas. Click the little triangle in the upper right of the histogram to turn it on or off.

Please help!!! FCPx every time I import a video clip, it says that there is 1 file missing and it turns red.

I really need some help!!
I have started a new FCPx event (saved to my external hard drive) and every single time I upload video clips (.MOV) to Final Cut Pro, everything looks normal and great but within a minute or less, it says that there is a file missing (for each clip that i have imported) and the clip turns red. The clips still play fine and I can continue editing, but I don't understand why it keeps saying the file is missing??? I have tried relinking these clips with their originals found on my external harddrive, but again, after a few seconds, it says "1 file missing".
Am I importing these clips incorrectly? Are they corrupt files?
I appreciate any advice.

Preview files turn red

Hi all,
since yesterday after re-opening my Premiere Pro CC ( 2014.0.1) project some of my preview files in the project window turned red. I figured it must have been an render error with the preview files. So I deleted the cached rendered preview files. After the system rendered them again, they still turned red. So I deleted the presets( Shift + Command ) to see if that helps, but the files stayed red.
I work over a Thunderbolt hard drive that is connected, but it never had any problems like that before. It started pretty much erratic. Now it seems I can't get rid of it.
When I do the render in-out on the timeline, the red parts stay ( or flicker occasional into the video ) and the color bars stay the way they are ( don't turn into green ).
I worked fine with the project and the material for over a week now. Only yesterday it started to act up. The project itself and the render cache of the preview files are on a internal SSD drive. The video material is in MXF files shot by a PMW300.
Here is a screenshot of how it looks like.
MBP late 2011 i7 2.2 Ghz, Quad core, 16 gig ram.

Re: rendering issue: I'd blame the plug-ins before I blamed the software. It's up to the third-party manufacturer to make sure their software or hardware works with the platform it's running on, not the other way around.
Re: missing preview files: I'd guess that something changed enough "under the hood' with the upgrade that the previously-created preview files were no longer viable on the upgraded software. What it was, I couldn't say--but prudence suggests not upgrading in the midst of a project, especially one that's time-sensitive.
The only way I can imagine that you'd be able to recover the existing preview files is to uninstall Premiere and then apply the update that was "last good" (I'm guessing this means 4.0.1). Then, try opening a back-up of your project file (hopefully you have one), or if all else fails, an auto-saved version. Beyond that, your only hope is that the render goes smoothly with the last update; though as Jim suggested, there's no reason to render if you're planning to export to a file. Just set up the export, and cross your fingers.

Try updating iTunes on your PC. Hopefully it'll re-install or fix the Bonjour issue.

How many Liquid Indicators have to turn red/pink to loose the guarantee?

So my power button on my Iphone 4S is not working. I went to the official service point, and they said they cant change it even thou the guarantee is still on, because the jack Liquid Indicator it red/pink (while the dock connector one is white). So my question is: how many Liquid Indicators have to turn red/pink to loose the guarantee? Can i demand them to check all 4 sensors, and then give me a new phone?

And it's absolutely not true that all four indicatores have to be triggered. I don't work for Apple, but I used to work for a self-servicing account and had access to Apple's troubleshooting documentation for the iPhone and it clearly stated that any indicator being triggered was sufficient evidence for invalidating the warranty. And again, an Apple technician just has to see evidence of liquid infiltration; no indicator needs to be triggered at all, though such a trigger is considered absolute proof.

If it scare y ou then take the machien back and ask the Apple Store to do this for you. What has probably filled your computer is large libraries such as music, photos and movies. Apple explains how to move those libraries to an external HD. Please read:
