FILES IN BOUNCES FOLDER IS AUTOMATICALLY MOVED TO AUDIO FILES

EVERYTIME I QUIT LOGIC 8, ALL THE FILES IN MY BOUNCES FOLDER IS AUTOMATICALLY MOVED TO AUDIO FILES FOLDER. THIS DO NOT HAPPEN WHEN I'M USING LOGIC 7. WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM?IT'S A LITTLE BIT CONFUSING....WHEN YOU SAY BOUNCE, IT SHOULD BE IN THE BOUNCES FOLDER. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHILE YOU'RE STILL WORKING ON A PROJECT, YOU'LL STILL SEE THE FILES THAT YOU BOUNCED IN THE BOUNCES FOLDER. BUT WHEN YOU QUIT, MY BOUNCES FOLDER WILL BE EMPTY. IS THIS A BUG OR DO I HAVE TO ADJUST SOMETHING IN THE PREFERENCE OR SETTING?

Just another annoying, useless change from the way it's been up till now, AFAIC. In L6/7, bounces went and stayed in the bounces folder. Why is Logic taking it upon itself to move your files to a place other than the one you specified? I agree with Mr. ShoutMyHeadOff, put it back the way it was. And Jay, sorry to take issue with you twice in 3 days, but it's not the expected behaviour at all. Ever since bouncing was included in Logic, bounces have gone in the bounces folder (seems pretty logical) and stayed there unless you choose to move them. I have years upon years of projects where, if i want to find the final mixes or any rough mix i did at any point during the project, i look in the bounces folder - it was really simple. Now all those files get thrown in and mixed up with every other audio file? Tell me, who exactly does that benefit?

The files in download folder keeps adding _b to the file name

I have a strange problem when downloading files on my Macbook Pro(running Mavericks). The name of the files being downloaded or already downloaded to the Download folder keep growing like this:
Say for a file called My_file_name.zip, the system keeps adding _b to the name, it becomes
My_file_name_b_b_b_b...._b.zip.
And for big files, frequently I get the error message saying the file could not be downloaded due because there is no enough disk space. However the file is infact downloaded. I just need to highlight the .download and select Show Package Content, and copy the real file out of it. Howerer this is very annoying.
This problems seems only happens when download files to the default Downoad folder. When downloading to other user selected folders, everything works fine, Please help if you know how to fix this issue.

Audio bug with WAV files: use mp3, not wav for syncing long audio files

Just a tip:
I've noticed another audio bug in Presenter (including 7.05) but there is a workaround. I often export the audio as a single, long clip from pre-recorded lecture videos, and sync it with the powerpoint slides in Presenter. I've found it easiest to import the long audio file into the first slide, then sync using the Edit Audio window. I find that much easier to use than the Sync audio window.
However, If you use WAV format for the imported audio file, sometimes Presenter will simply refuse to play back anything beyond about 5 minutes into the timeline in the Edit Audio window. Nothing fixes it - restarting, re-importing, etc. However the problem goes away if you save the audio as mp3.

In new version of Thunderbird it's not possible to define file types to be recognized automatic - because of this files are automatically opened while sending

When I send attachments - for example graphic file (.mi extension from CoCreate's Designer drafting program) Thunderbird "opens" it (while sending it) as it is text file and thus makes teh message long (thousands of rows). I'm now solving this so that I make zip file. Also, there is no problems with Word's, Excel's, Adobe's files which are recognized automatically by Thunderbird.
In old versions of Thunderbird I've just defined the type of each file extension (which was not recognized automatically by Thunderbird) and Thunderbird didn't open an attachment while sending the mail. In last version there is no such possibility and this is a step back.

I can understand that its a bit iritating, but I dont think your email is larger than if it wasnt showing. look at "show code" and compare. Your .mi-file has to be sent within the email, either in plain view or hidden.

How can I get my published files in a folder back to Iweb? Iweb files deltd

I have accidentally deleted the original files in Iweb for a site I have created and ftp up to a host, so they don't even exist in the domain.sites folder location it seems now and they were never uploaded to .mac.
I have published them to a folder on desktop and was wondering if anyone knows how I can get those files back into Iweb for editing?

Moving audio files into Itunes Folder

I have files in my Itunes folder. I also have music files in other folders scattered throughout my computer. All these songs are in my Itunes library.
How can i move all the songs that aren't in my Itunes folder into my Itunes folder? When I consolidate the music tt only lets me copy. Is there a way to just move them without creating double copies?

With the more recent version of iTunes, it automatically stores converted audio files into Artist\Album folder, and re-names the audio track to the the track number plus the title of the track.
It's not the"more recent version of iTunes". It's all versions iof iTunes.
Is there anyway to store the converted audio files in one folder, and keep the same name as the original file name?
No.
If you are RIPping from CD, iTunes will put them into the iTunes music folder by Artist/Album name.
If you are adding songs to iTunes, it does not convert them unless they are WM and then it puts them into Artist/Album folders.
If you want your own Folder/File names, RIP the CD using a different application and put the files into your own folders.
Then iTunes prefs -> Advanced and uncheck *Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library*.
Then add the files to iTunes.

I need to open files in a folder within a photoshop action

I am writing an action (to be triggered by automator) to take three photos from a tethered camera and open, size, and crop them, and place them in specific locations on a template image to create two photo-booth strips side by side on a 4x6 print. It works perfectly, but when I write the "open" command into the action, it referenced the files by name. I need to find a way to have my action open the three files in a folder (the only three that will be there thanks to my automator action), but not reference them by name. Is there any way of opening images in an action without referencing them by name? Maybe some sort of open images in a folder type of thing? Any ideas are very much appreciated.

I have played with the >>Toggle dialogue on/off<< field and manually opened the files from their folder, but the action has the file's location written into it. I need it to open all files in a folder. As part of my Automator action, I am moving my photos (taken in batches of 3) into a workflow system of folders so the photos from the camera save to a "from camera" folder, and then move to a "for photoshop" folder, and those are the images that open into the ps action and get put into the template. The action saves the composite image to an archive folder, and deletes the image layers, and then the Automator action moves the originals to another archive folder. There shouldn't be issues as long as the actions keep running and I can figure out how to open files form a folder without referencing the specific images in the folder. Also please keep in mind that I am writing this as an action witihn Photoshop CS3, so basically clicking record, and letting the computer write the "code". Did that help?

Moving or Copying Files and Folders on the Desktop.

Hi All, I have come across this before and cannot recall how I got around it. I have copied some folders from an external FW drive onto the desktop of my iMac. I create a new folder on the desktop to move these folders into. Without holding down the option key or any key, the Finder copies them instead of what it should be doing by moving them. It is a pain!!! What is making the Finder copy rather than just move these folders even though they are on the same volume? The owner of the folders and the logged in user on the iMac is the same. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Let me clarify.....
I have copied a folder from my External Firewire drive to my desktop.
I have created a new folder on my desktop.
When I attempt to move the copied folder which is already on the desktop to the new folder which is also on the desktop, a + sign appears on my cursor. I don't want to copy it to the new folder, I just want to move it into it. This is all happening on the same volume and happens only with the folder. Any files inside this folder can be moved as per normal.

Help! Can't access any files in a folder to attach to email

This is such a random question and I'm sure it's just a matter of clicking the right button but I'm stumped.
When I am composing an email and I want to attach a document / file, etc. I click the folder to that the file is in. Previously it would give me a list of all the files in that folder and I could choose the file I wanted to attach. Now when I click the folder, it's attaching the entire folder to the email and I'm not able to see the files listed!
I can, of course view the folder contents when I am not composing /trying to attach something to an email. But...what am I doing wrong?
am running OS X Yosemite, -- recently downloaded this new OS but can't figure out if this problem came along with the new OS or if it's even newer than that.

Is it possible to batch bounce audio files from markers?

Archiving old DAT tapes, I'm wondering if it's possible to create and even name markers on the fly and later "batch bounce" the whole tape offline to audio files bearing the same name as the markers.
I'm aware that you can split regions & batch bounce them but AFAIK you can't split a region on the fly...
I'm using Logic 9 yet but if what I'm asking is only possible in X I'm ready to take the plunge, it would be a big time saver

Is there an add-in for FF that will direct files based on the type? i.e. put graphic files in a folder called graphics, program files in a folder called exe etc?

I would like FF to be able to sort my downloads into categories, to put program files into a folder called exe, to put graphic files into a folder called pics ,etc. Can this be done?

The Firefox download manager isn't set up to do that, but I understand there are a few external download managers that offer a feature like that.

The topic is actually the problem that I have.
I have bought music and it was downloaded successful (all of it) but iTunes had a strange freeze while converting the files into the right audio file. Some files were converted but after the freeze no more.
I'm now left with these .tmp folders in the downloads folder which have the download.m4a and Info.plist files.
My iTunes is able to play these download.m4a files, but they show no information and covers and this is really annoying. I could write and change it all by myself, but than I would still miss some information (and covers).
Is there any way for me to convert or combine these files?
Note: I'm not able to restart any downloads, because they were successful.

Thanks for the help, but this is not the problem.
It's hard to describe the problem, but I'll try it again, this time with pictures.
I was left with the following folders in the iTunes Downloads folder.

After moving the audio files in iTunes a bit I get this.

Distorted sound during audio file preview

When viewing file lists in the Finder in column view, there is that great, handy preview option which if it is a image file - shows the image thumbnail; a movie file - you can preview the movie; and an audio file - you can listen to the audio track.
Within the past couple months, when I try to preview an Audio File in the column list, it plays back at an extremely loud and very distorted level. I'm not sure what changed, but does anyone know a way to correct this issue? All of my other audio works fine, and if someone emails me an audio file, the preview in Mail works just fine. Any ideas would be super. It is not the end of the world (as I can just use Quicktime), but I had always enjoyed that feature before. It would be nice to get it working properly again.

Open the Script Editor in the /Applications/AppleScript/ folder and enter the following:

Don't press the Run button until instructed. Next, open the /Library/Preferences/ item of your home folder, and move the item com.apple.finder.plist to the desktop. Once this file has been moved, run the script, and then use the audio preview option again. If the sound is still distorted, move half of the plist files to the desktop, run the script again, and repeat the procedure until the item causing the problem is found. If nothing in the /Library/Preferences/ folder is causing the issue, continue with the other items in the home folder except for the desktop itself. If you determine that an item isn't causing the problem, you can put it back where it originally was.
