Files in Router's Flash

Hello Everyone,
I am having Cisco2951 router. There are lot of files in the routers flash which is consuming memory. If I delete these files is it going to affect my routers performance?

Lots of the files in your router are for "Cisco Configuration Professional Express"

In case you are not using this tool to manager your router config, you can definitely go ahead and delete the files pertaining to folder "ccpexp". Below link will help you in removing the ccpexp from your router flash:

Apart from that under the GUI folder, the files belong to CME GUI , incase you are using GUI to manage your CME. Then there are few files for 8831, in case you are using your router to provide firmware to the 8831 phones. These you can choose to delete if the phones are not fetching the firmware from the router.

You can just copy the file into the running config, and it will be merged. Assuming the file on flash is called routes.txt, just make sure it ends with the word "end", and do:
copy flash:routes.txt runn
You can do this manually or from an EEM action line.

Copying file from a Compact Flash Card or Epson Picture Viewer issues

I am a photographer and have been experiencing issues when trying to copy or move files from my compact flash cards or my viewer HD device. Both my Sandisk reader and the epson connect to my iMac through USB (rear ports) and during the copy process, I get messages that one of the files are in use, and the rest of the copy is aborted. Since the copy process doesn't work in a numerical or filename fashion, I have to look through each file that has been copied and try to identify which files were missed. The weird thing is that if I try to copy the file that was mentioned in use, it works fine
I am copying to a USB External drive, connected to my Airport Extreme. I've encountered the same things when the HD was connected directly to the iMac.
I am getting very frustrated with this process, and am looking for insight on how to make this go away, or at the very least, is there an application that will copy/move and verify the files before exiting? I can't help but think that I may have missed files here and there, and those files could be now lost memories.

They'll record either while simutaniously recording to tape. I believe the HDV is in a .M2t format but I'm not sure about the DV file format. As for quality, your guess is as good as mine, I haven't had the chance to play with one yet.

How to read .xml file from embedded .swf(flash output) in captivate

I have been trying to read .xml file from the .swf (Flash output) that is embedded within the captivate file but no luck yet . Please if anyone got any clue on how get this thing done using Action script 3.0 then let me know. I am using Adobe Captivate 5.5 at present and Flash CS 5.5.
I am well aware about how to read .xml file through action script 3.0 in flash but when insert the same flash in captivate and publish nothing comes in captivate output. I would higly appreciate if anyone could help me out with that.

Moving files doesn't update Flash Skins in DW CS 4?

Hello,
on a page I've got a flash movie (.swf with skin (via
importing/converting a qt in adobe media encoder, then importing
video into flash, adding a skin, them exporting to site folder an
opening in DW CS4).
it works fine in the browsers.
now when I want to change the position of the page in my site
folder (move it into different folder) DW asks me if to update
links, I click okay, but it doesn't update the code/links whatever
(to show me the skin for controlling the movie). What have I
forgotten to consider? Maybe alsready at exporting the file(s) from
Flash?

The .swf that holds the url of the flv (let's call that
player.swf for
now) uses whatever link you give it. You can give it a root
relative
location so it will work from anywhere on your site.
/videos/flvs/film1.flv for example.
And, depending on the object/embed code generated, you should
be able
to edit that in the code view in DW. Something like
&streamname=/videos/flvs/film1
And you can then store player.swf in a different location.
/media/swfs/player.swf for example.
I think DW will update links to player.swf if you move
player.swf to a
different location, but I don't know if it will update
object/embed
code.
However, it seems that .swf files created with the
FLVPlayback
component are hard-coded to look for the skin file in the
current
location - that is, the location of the html file with the
object/embed
code.

Oops. I think I answered this above. I think it is the
FLVPlayback
component that creates a hard-coded path to the current
directory.

Again, you can store the player .swf files anywhere, and the
.flv files
anywhere, but AFAIK, the skin .swf files must be in the same
folders as
the .html files that reference them.
There's a chance that somebody in the Flash forums has
created a work-
around, but I haven't been there in a while.
I haven't tested, but you /might/ be able to set a BASE href
element to
get around it. Of course, all other links in that page would
need to be
root relative after doing so.
Another method (if supported by your host) might be using
.htaccess
with a rewrite directive.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can edit (a copy of) the
FLVPlayback
component or one or more of its actionscript files found in
the
Flash configuration folder.

Obtaining the full file path specification from Flash Movie and QuickTime icons?

How do you obtain the full file path specification from Flash
Movie and QuickTime icons? I want the path and the file name that
is contained in these icons. I am using a "dive" to run through the
icons of a file, and when I come upon these two types of icons, I
want to obtain the above information that is contained in them. I
certainly can look in the property dialog box to get this info, but
there are many icons in these files, and I want to generate a list
of info based upon the various types of icons that I am processing.

Can't open documents - File select screen just flashes and then disappears

In Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard - When I open Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. and then try to open a document from one of these programs, the screen where you would select the file to open just flashes and then disappears. This locks me out of the program because it is waiting for a response from me - I can't even exit the program. I have to go to the Task List and close the program from there. This is a new issue - Have had Creative Suite for a while. Does not happen in Word, Excel, etc. I have already tried removing and reinstalling the software - No change. I have minimized all other windows - Still cannot access the file selection screen.

If you have an LCD monitor, make sure it is running at its maximum resolution. After the dialog disappears, try pressing Alt + Spacebar, then M and see if you can find it on the edge of the screen and move it in by pressing arrow keys, press one a few times, then the opposite to bring it back if it didn't show up.

Thanks for your suggestions. I checked to see if the options you suggested were set incorrectly but they were set to sync all. This led me to think the problem was actually in the iphone. I re-initialized the iphone and did not allow the system to restore any of the previous settings. In essence, I forced the phone to reset to factory settings. Then my video podcasts started syncing. All is well now. I did notice that I had seven podcasts selected that were "HD" presentations, and as such, are not compatible with the iphone. I don't know if this had anything to do with my earlier situation, but now I'm getting the video podcasts automatically. I'm happy. It wasn't much fun forcing the iphone to forget all of my preferences and I'm still customizing the phone now several days later. I think I have everything working and back to normal except I haven't identified any of my email accounts as of yet. Thanks for your help.

I had the same problems with the samples. But I got different message. but, instead of typing "ant build", I entered only "ant" on the prompt and I was able to built it.
So, in the comamnd prompt goto your example directory and enter only ant .
The ant will read the build.xml file and you should be able to get it.

Problem exporting FXG file for use in Flash

I have a simple rectangle with a 3D-bevel effect built in Illustrator that I need to export as an FXG file for use in Flash.
When I export from Illustrator to an FXG format, it creates bitmaps and embeds those in the FXG file.
if i import directly into Flash CS5 there are transparent gaps (and the symbols created are very complex), and it warns me that the objects aren't compatible with flash and they should be converted to bitmaps first.
Is there a way to export the object to an FXG file and keep it in a vector format?
if not, and this may be an Illustrator question, is there a way to create the same kind of effect so that I can get an end FXG object that will work in Flash?

Create the bevel edges as separate objects with gradient fills. not sure why you need AI, though. You can do that jsut the same directly in Flash...

Flashresource file missing. Mac flash pro cs5. I have reinstalled 3 times, same message each time

Hey guys, can't find help anywhere so I am asking here. I work for a small tv station who recently purchased Flash Professional to learn. They want me to learn it and create some animation for bumpers yadda yadda. Anyways here's the problem. Every time I install it it seems fine and works for a couple of days. Suddenly one day it won't open and all it says in the message is "flashresource file missing. please reinstall flash " So I say uh oh and reinstall. Works great so I think ok problem solved. Then a couple of days later it does it again. I have gone through this 5 times, each time reinstalling works for a few days or week then blammo suddenly "flashresourcefile is missing. please reinstall flash" I am completely stumped. After effects, premiere pro, soundbooth, all work great. Flash professiional is the only one doing this. HELP!!

Hi there, do you happen to have CleanMyMac installed on your machine? I had same issue with my Flash CS5, problem was CleanMyMac was cleaning few extra things that require for flash to run.

Creating a file on server, using Flash AS3 + PHP

I have a very simple PHP script that creates a new file on my server using a random number for the file name (e.g., 412561.txt). When I load the script directly from a browser, it works. But when I load the script from a very simple Flash (AS3) script, it does not work (i.e., doesn't create a file). The Flash script and PHP script are both in the same directory. Permissions on the directory and its content are 755. Temporarily setting those permissions to 777 does not solve the problem (i.e., PHP still doesn't create file when called via Flash).

#1, Yes that is a security risk, please disable directory index viewing.
#2, Always validate. I see no issue with the code you're using but clearly it's not working. The way you find out is your trusty errors.

I get a Event.COMPLETE for mine, so the PHP script is definitely firing. Change the URL to something invalid and you'll see the IOErrorEvent fire off right away.
That leaves you to diagnose the PHP script. Check your error_log and see what is going wrong. You're suppressing errors on your file write which doesn't help you locate the issue saving the file. If you want to handle errors yourself you should do the usual try/catch and handle the error yourself (write a debug log file, anything).
