Files Modified Multiple Times Suddenly Won't Print

I've now had this happen for the 2nd or 3rd time. Background: Have a file, might be a SS, might be WP, which is used over and over again. They will usually have graphics (photos) in them, which change, and the text in the WP will change month to month. The SS one is simply re-calced periodically with a new starting date, no other changes.
After some undetermined length of time, they will will no longer print. You get no response from the printer and, when investigated, you find 'All Jobs Stopped'. The stoppage occurs pretty much as soon as the printer (which never reacts in any way) is being accessed.
Printer works fine on other files, once jobs are started again. Things I've tried are logging out, restarting, using 'Save as:' on the failing file, removing the graphics and other elements, but nothing seems to work. Once they lose the ability to print I've never been able to regain it and have had to replace the file completely.
Is there something else I can/should be trying here? Have any ideas of why this seems to keep on happening?
BTW, it's 10.4.9 and AW 6.2.9.

Hello
This is a behaviour which was described several times.
My guess is that the "Print Record" saved in the file is corrupted.
As you wrote about WP and SS documents, there is a simple trick.
Open the document in AW6.
Use the "Save As…" menu item to save the doc as an AppleWorks 5 document.
Open the new doc with AW6.
I'm quite sure that the fresh doc will print without problem.
The explanation is simple.
When re-encoding the doc to save it as an AppleWorks 5 one, AW6 rebuilds the entire structure of the doc BUT drop the print record.
So, the new doc will start with a default clean new print record.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro L7590 suddenly won't print yellow ink.

My OfficeJet Pro L7590 suddenly won't print yellow ink.  The cartridge isn't empty.  It still prints everything else.  Things that require yellow ink come out a different color (ie: green comes out blue).  I've cleaned the printheads several times from the "tools" menu and the report says the printheads are in "good" condition.  I've also tried soaking the printheads in hot water for 5 min like was mentioned on here.  Still nothing.  Any suggestions?

Hi - you've worked through all the steps in the support document here? http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01957673&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc...
If you have, and still see bad red and green blocks on the PQ Diagnostic page (as described in the document), you may have to replace the black/yellow printhead (even if the printhead health is reported as 'good'). You can check your warranty on that printhead here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&docname=c00206040

  • Read LabVIEW Measurement File VI Multiple Times

I Get Error 4 When Calling the Read LabVIEW Measurement File VI Multiple Times. I've searched and found a paper on this issue. http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0576444C8FD4DC0F86256E83007FA540
So I have a question: Is there a way to fix this to I can still Calling the Read LabVIEW Measurement File VI Multiple Times?
    Thank you.

The paper you linked makes it very clear. The Read File Express VI cannot do what you want.  Either use the low level File VIs and functions or open the front panel of the Express VI and then modify it to do what you want. Most likely the Express VI uses the low level file functions internally, but it may have a lot of extra code to handle special cases. It is probably easier to use the low level functions and you learn how to use them.
Look at the Examples under Fundamentals >> File Input and Output. Something there may do most of what you want and even if it does not, the exampels will help you learn how to use the file resources in LV.

  • Canon PIXMA MX712 suddenly won't print or copy anything - no color, no B/W, not even with Deep Clean

Canon PIXMA MX712 worked great, no degradation in print quality (over last 1.5 years).  Suddenly won't print or copy anything.  Can't print wirelessly (from IPAd or computer) or plugged in with USB directly to laptop.  Can't copy.  Makes normal print head sounds and "prepares" to print.  Sounds like it is working and spits out nothing but blank pages.  Tried doing test print and nothing shows up on page.  Tried doing a deep clean and still nothing.  Tried unplugging and letting it reset and turn back on and still nothing.  Tried switching out printer cartridges and still nothing.  All lights are on for the print cartridges.  The printer says it is ready and never received a print error.  Please help me stop getting nothing but blank pages.  It would seem normal to start having streaking or blotchy prints, but not just to work great one day and then stop.

I have the exact same problem ... printer is about 18 mths old ... I have done what has been suggested ... any other ideas

  • Photosmart 7550 suddenly won't print anything but scanned images?

    Hi all,
I've had this printer for a while and have had zero problems with it, and I don't think there's one now. More likely a setting I can't find. I just scanned a bunch of stuff that printed up just fine, but text documents, (I use Open Office) and PDF docs will not. I've tested this out and haven't been able to discover what I've done wrong. I can print anything that I've scanned (scanned docs are displayed by Windows Photo Gallery), but no ODT (Open Office) or PDF (Adobe Acrobat). Won't print from e-mail, either. It was all working fine the last time I printed any ODT or PDF, but it has been a couple of months for those, though I was printing e-mails as recently as last week. Also, when I send the command to print, I see the status bar spooling the pages to print, but the printer never reacts. Then when I double click the printer icon in the toolbar, the printer status window that opens shows "printing", but then suddenly it says "deleting" and it disappears and there are no jobs pending.
I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit. Drivers are up-to-date.
    Can anyone help?

  • Same file opening multiple times in indesign cc

Hi - I'm getting the same file opening multiple (20-30 times)
try closing and it just keeps opening new copies
Have to force quit in the end
    Any idea's

    Hi Rob
    Thanks for getting back
From what I can see there are no links to other documents.
I often copy and paste elements like images from one document to the next
The multiple files that open - open as 'Untitled' indesign docs - almost like they're new documents or from a template.
They open very rapidly - around 10-20 - if you try to close them sometimes new ones open. This often repeats
I have to force quit indesign.
It doesn't happen all the time - so I think it may be to do with links somewhere along the line.
I've noticed when I work on DPS indesign docs - they often open the original 'source' for print design docs in the same way. The same multiple file opening of the same doc happens
Let me know if I should look anywhere in particular - I'll try and repeat the glitch and get more info
    Many Thanks

  • Jnlp file called multiple times

We're trying to pass HTTP parameters to our JNLP file (which is created by a .jsp file). When we run webstart from the command line (or a a web page), it seems like the JNLP file gets called multiple times. The first time our parameters are there, after that they are not. Why does webstart call the JNLP file multiple times? Has anyone else seen this.
We're running Tomcat 4.x on Linux.
From the command line we typed:
    javaws "http://localhost/helloWorld.jsp?hello=1&world=2"
    Tomcat Output:

I am seeing this exact same problem, also creating the JNLP via a JSP. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Same file opening multiple times

When I open a folio file in DPS, it opens the same file 100 times. I've tried reinstalling and force quitting InDesign but every time I reopen InDesign the file keeps opening multiple times. What can I do to stop this?

There are hyperlinks on all of the folio pages. I'm using InDesign CC and the error starts when I open the Folio Overlays panel. This panel is no longer included in the Digital Publishing interface.

  • Canon Printer suddenly won't print pdfs

All of sudden it won't print pdfs. It will print from Pages, Textedit etc but if I try and Print a PDF I get a Canon Error Number : 94 A paper size that cannot be fed from the cassette was selected. Load paper in the auto sheet feeder, and press the Paper Feed Switch on the printer. Printing will restart. That's as far as it goes. Tried reinstalling the drivers (last update from Canon was June 09). Also reinstalled Acrobat Reader with no luck.

Nothing changed. But since then using AppZapper I removed all the Adobe stuff I have. Then went into Libraries and removed Adobe folder. Then went to print and it works. So it must be an Adobe issue. Don't know what but if I can read and print pdfs without Adobe installed that will do me. Strange. Uses Preview of course.

  • Canon printer connected on Time Capsule won't print from the PC

    Hi all !!
I just bought a small printer, Canon MP250.
Connected it to my Time Capsule. Works fine on wifi with my Mac.
But with the PC (connected by ethernet).... it sees the printer, but won't print.
    Bonjour installed, firewall desactivated.
    Any tips/suggestion/link/idea ?
    Thanks for any help !

Here's the Canon's response (sorry, in French). I'm happy that Canon answered personnaly & very quickly to my questions. That's a great support.

  • Using Aurora 5.0a2 and is suddenly won't print or do print preview.

Says "printer can't be found" after Print Preview; and "do you want to install a printer" after Print. Clicking Yes I get Print Spooler service is not running, but checking that reveals it is. I recently installed a Java upgrade; tried uninstalling but it can't find the .msi file and fails.
I'm using Windows XP Professional; happens everytime I try to print. I've tried reinstalling 5.0a2 via update but still won't print; also tried stopping and starting Printer Spooler service and shutting down my computer, then restarting it and Aurora. Nada.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
It's all very mysterious but it seems to have corrected itself.  Eventually the error message "out of paper" appeared yesterday (it had plenty), I pushed in the paper and things started printing again.  I was also able to scan again.  Not sure if it was down to a Google glitch or what but we're up and running again.
    Merci beaucoup!

  • File opening multiple times in a book

    Hello.
Something has gone crazy in indesign for me. Not sure if its the recent update.
In osx if you open a book and double clikc one of the files, it opens, if you double click it again, it opens another copy, changes made in one reflect in the other. If you make lots of changes to the first document then open it again by accident it overwrites all the changes you made.
I can open many multiples of the same document and its totally confusing me!
    Anyone else spotting this bug?

  • Itunes file modified date/time

Ok, so I know for sure this is related to me travelling to Florida and back, and changing the timezone on my system (Windows 7).  So I started with all of the music in my itunes at MST, went to and changed to EST, then came back MST.  This is when the problem occurred:
On a playlist, if I sort by date modified, I'll see one date (Say its Sep 1 2011, 10:00 am).  If I double click the file it will appear as if it moved randomly, BUT the modified timestamp now says Sept 1 2011, 8:00 am.  What in the world is this behavior?  I don't much feel like double clicking every song to fix this... do I need to completely remove and readd all songs to fix?  And why did it happen in the first place; am I going to need to do this every time I change time zones?

    itunes 7.6.2
I had the same annoying problem: iTunes would hesitate at the beginning of a song and then resume playing it. This affected ALL tracks in my 17,000+ library. No quarter.
My fix was to uncheck crossfade playback in preferences. I have never used sound check nor sound enhancer so those boxes remained unchecked.
Worked for me and ALL tracks play now with no stutter.
    Hope this helps some.

  • My 5440 deskjet continually feeds in sheets of paper, one at a time and won't print

I have had a 5440 deskjet print which has worked well for years. This week it suddenly stopped working. When I go to print, it sucks a piece of paper in more than halfway and then says "paper jam or misfeed". If I hit the arrow key, the paper comes out with no issue, and then it sucks the next sheet in to the same point and errors again. The interesting thing is that it doesn't even try to print things at the top of the page (or anywhere).
