Files not seen by Windows 7

We are running a windows SBS 2011 Standard server. Sometimes when we scan a document from our Xerox 5755 scanner to a folder on the server we can't see it on the first Win 7 machine to open the file. You can go to another Win 7 machine and see the
files. If you change the name of the file on the second machine it shows up on the first machine. Any ideas?

Did you mean that you can access the folder, just can’t find that scanned file?

Would you please let me know which user account you used to logon the problematic Windows 7 client computer? Please use another user account (even domain administrator account) to logon this Windows 7, then check if the same issue still exists.
3. Would you remember whether there has any difference between the problematic Windows 7 and that good one? Such as: different updates, different settings (firewall and so
on)? Anything you can find, please feel free to let me know.
4. Please use following hotfix and monitor the result.
SMB2 directory cache is not updated correctly if a file is

EA4500 Windows 7 cannot index files so files not seen by Windows Media Player

I have setup a disk on the USB port of the EA4500 and have 4 folders. One being music. I want to access this folder via my Wireless laptop with Windows Media Player but I only get a handful of the 3000+ songs on the disk. A hard wired PC can access the files but not a wireless laptop. I'm not sure where the issue is. If I use the drive via //host/Music the Star ratings are not available but I get all music, if I map a drive then I get star rating but only a handful of songs. I have tried to change permission but I cannot change the file permissions on the Linksys.

You should be able to change the permissions in the router page. Are you using the Classic Firmware or the Linksys Smart Wifi? If you are using the Linksys Smart Wifi firmware, it is under USB Storage > Folder Access. If you are using the Classic Firmware, it is under Storage > Administration. The laptop should be able see all files just like the desktop.

In Mail, while composing a message, go to Mail's menu and click:
Edit > Attachments > Always send Windows-friendly attachments

Satellite A - DVD drive not seen by Windows Explorer

THe DVD deive on D is not seen by windows explorer. It used to work but has now disappeared. The dvd hardwars starts up at boot then ceases.

Try removing the CD/DVD Filters from the Registry.
When CD/DVD related software is installed (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), they install filters into the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.
1) Run Regedit (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3) In the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key, and delete the "LowerFilters" key.
4) Reboot.
If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

Ipod not seen by windows or itunes

Hello, I'm totally frustrated and have been searching for hours. Please someone help.
- Nano 8 gb
- Windows xp
Neither Windows (my computer) nor Itunes sees my ipod. Ipod is working fine: did the menu/select thing, cable is good.
When I plug the ipod in the usb port I hear a bleep and I get a message bottom right "new hardware found ipod"and the icon is a usb cable. Ipod is not in My computer window. Ipod is not seen by Itunes
Tried Device Manager/I see Ipod with a ? Yellow. If i right click on it and do update driver the ms computer management system crashes and sends error report.
I tried dowloading the USB driver and placing it in the directory, but I got stuck because there is no windows/inf directory. I tried to update the usb driver with the same ms crash.
I'm completely frustrated, please can someone help me.

I was having the same problem the other day. I'm not sure what it was but I think it has something to do with the i tunes and i pod 1.2 update.
What I did was:
1. Uninstall i tunes
2. Restart my computer
3. pluged my ipod in a slow usb line
4. waited until my pc recognized it in there. It took a little while.
5. re installed i tunes from apple.com
6. waited until i tunes recognized my ipod
7. updated my i pod with my library it took a long time because i was in the slow usb plug.
8. re plugged my ipod into a 2.0 usb line
9. i tunes recognized it.
10. I then updated my ipod to the new 1.2 version
11. The problem started happening again
12 I repeated what I did before and now it is working.
It was very frustrating! I hope it works for you.1

5th Gen IPOD - Won't Sync and Not Seen by Windows

Help!!!
Tried the 5 R's. I have the IPOD in Disk Mode but whilst it will happily charge, it still is not seen by ITunes or Windows Explorer (though is visible inDisk Defragmenter). I have already un-installed and re-installed ITunes etc.
Prior to putting it into Disk Mode the IPOD still had my library on it and owuld happily work.

JNLP file not opening in Windows 8 and IE 10

I am trying to launch the ROES ordering tool through WHCC prints and it has always worked on my other IE 10 through Windows 7 but on my new computer with Win 8 I cannot get it to launch because of the JNLP file not opening... and it won't work on desktop
mode either... What do I need to do??

Bluetooth not seen in Windows

I installed Windows 8.1 through BootCamp and Bluetooth device is not recognized by Windows. I am talking about the new 2015 12' macbook.
It is not seen in the device manager list.
Any Help?

Can you check the version of BC drivers in bootcamp.xml on your USB?

Safari 6 bug (Can't download software files) - file not in download window

Dear Everybody,
I insatlled Safari 6 and also afterwards ML, everything works fine on my macbook air but on my 2009 (early) iMac safari 6 has a severe problem. When I download software files such as a adove flash player dmg file, The file (link) loads in the browser bar until the blue bar reaches the right (not in download window) and then when it is done the browser window is black and the file is nowhere to be found?

Files not deleted on windows in MappedBufferManager

We are seeing a problem where the nio file-based scheme does not delete the mapped temporary files once they are inactive. This is related to the link below; however, this is not just a problem when the process exits.

The old files are not deleted once we cross the page limit boundary. So the directory will grow indefinitely large as the old files are not removed. We get this error:
MappedBufferManager: failed to remove <path to file>
Note, I added a note to the original posting, but was not sure if it was received since that post was so old. Lastly, this problem appears to be windows-only since the code works as expected on a linux distro using a sun jdk.
We are using JDK 5.0 (build 1.5.0_15-b04) and Coherence 3.2.

I had similar problems. I could always mount the directory but couldn't see any of the files. I finally tracked the problem down to the user name I was using to login from the Mac being in a different XP security group than I had assumed. Once I changed the group membership, it worked as it should.
The solution took awhile to find because my XP laptop is also used on my work LAN and therefore uses "professional" sharing not "simple" sharing. Professional sharing is much more complicated to troubleshoot. You have professional sharing on your XP machine if you see a "permissions" button on the share tab when you click properties on the file/directory.

Premiere Pro CS6 Project Files Not Recognised by Windows

Gidday, I hope someone can help with this problem. Premiere Pro(and After Effects) have worked perfectly on my laptop up until now. Saved PP projects are not recognised by Windows 7. I can open a new project but once I save it, it is not recognised and won't open and I can't reset either as the default programs for those files. The applications are visible in the start menu so it is very strange as all were working fine last week and nothing has been done to the laptop in the meantime.
Anyone else come up against this problem?

Steve, I just had this happen as well.
I used the Programs section of the Windows Control Panel to initiate an uninstall. On Adobe's Unistall setup screen (or whatever it may be called) I selected to uninstall PP only. When it was done I restarted and then installed PP only. And then it was back to "normal."

Can a quick time file be seen on windows?

Can it be seen on windows or do i need to get a quick time pro in order to convert my file so that window users can see it? I have just quick time but it won't let me export. Thanks.

If windows machine has Quicktime installed (can be downloaded free from Apple's Quicktime site), your quicktime movie will play fine.

E3000 Media Server not seen by Windows Media Player (v 12.0) on Win 7

I've enabled the Media Server on my E3000 router. My PS3 can see the server and play media from it by my PCs can't!
I'm using Windows Media Player v 12.0 on Windows 7 and some older version on Windows XP and it's my understanding that the Media Server should appear under the "Other Libraries" section but it does not.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bug in the E3000 firmware (I have the latest as of this date) or is the Media Server simply not compatible with Windows Media Player?
If it's an incompatibility issue, can someone please point me to a compatible media player for Windows 7?
I did read a post about a firmware upgrade on the 4200 that broke the media player, but I don't know if such a problem exists for the E3000.

This is what you can try in getting the Computer to see the media server on the E3000:
(Obviously make sure you have the media server enabled on the router and at least one folder shared....and make sure you have scanned the folder(s))
1) Turn your computer on.
2) Disconnect your external usb drive.
3) Pull the power on the E3000.
4) Connect the external usb drive.
5) Plug the power back into the E3000.
Then see if that works or not.
