Files on SD card

How do you move them to the Phone memory? I have pics and vids I'd like to save from my old phone and can't , for the life of me, figure out how to movw them off of the SD card and onto the phone. Either all at once or individually. Then I can move them to the card that came with it.

MAC address has nothing to do with your SD Card so I am unclear why you are thinking you are needing one to access it.. Like originally posted this is a network protocal so I dont get what you are accessing that would ask for this that is related to the SD card.
Also for the record, the command to move to SD Card isnt for all files but for the application and this is only supported if the programmer added the feature into the application to accept that option, if you want to move a app to the SD Card all you have to do is go into the Setting/Applications/Manage Application menu and when then click on the app you want to move and you will see the option under the storage list for device, there will be a button that says "Move to SD Card" or "Move to Phone" depending on where it is already located.

  • Is the AirPort Time Capsule only for backing up Macs or can I back up additional files from SD cards too as if it were an external hard drive?

I'm a professional photographer and I'm interested in the most recent features of the AirPort Time Capsule. I process a lot of data and much of it never hits my Mac hard drive. Currently I back up to external hard drives, but is it possible to back up files from SD cards mounted on my desktop on to the AirPort Time Capsule for instant access in the future as if the drive were an external hard drive (in addition to being a back up server)?
    I appreciate input!

If your question is whether Time Machine can back up the data on the SD drives, the answer would be no.
The reason for this is that SD drives are formatted in Windows FAT16, which is not compatible with Time Machine, the backup application included with Macs.

  • Digital Camera Manually Transfer Files on Memory Card

I have a Canon Powershot Pro1 digital camera that I am able to connect to my MBP. My question is whether or not there is a way to manually move files onto the memory card in the camera. I have my camera connected via a USB2.0 cord and a 1GB CF Card inside the camera. I know there is a way to automatically transfer all photos and I know all about ImageCapture, iPhoto and Aperture. I was wondering if there was a way to make OSX recognize the camera as a external drive and manually move files back and forth because on my PC I have edited some photos and saved them as .PSD (Photoshop Files) which surely would not be transferred or recognized. For arguments sake assume I have other files other than JPG or other image files and I need to access them through a USB cord connected to the camera with a CF card inside. Thanks in advance.

Your camera should appear as a USB disk drive on your desktop as soon as you plug it in. If not, buy a USB card reader and plug the memory card into it and the card reader into your Mac's USB port. You can then drag files onto the card.
If all you want to do is transfer files between a Windows computer and your Mac, there are lots of ways to do it. An easier way is to simply buy a USB jump drive, or if both computers are near to each other, get a network hub, plug them both in via a cat5 ethernet cable and set up file sharing.

  • Files on memory card invisible!

    Hai friends,
I am using N73 ME with 1 GB memory card. Today when I am trying to save a MP3 file to memory card the phone hang and I restarted it. After that all the folders in the card are doubled except sound and video as

    data
    documents
    documents
    games
    games
    images
    images
    sound
    video
The files in the sound folder are not visible now. I have 200 MP3 files.I am using X-plore as file manager. Even music player shows no songs. This is the third time I am facing the same situation. In former situations I had formatted the memory card. But now I wont want to lose my data. Please help me..

This has been happening to me too with my E71 - 8gb card.
th original memory card that came witht he pone had to be repaced because of this problem.
what does seem to work is when i move my music files from the music folder into the root diectory - the music player seems to find them. is slow as a wet week to move though, particularly when i am connecting via bluetooth - any more palatable solutions would be appreciated

  • How can I access video file from sd card on ipad2?

How can I access video file from sd card on ipad2?

Your iPad 2 will see the video if:
It's in a DCIM folder on the top level of the card (which is how most cameras do it)
It's name is 8 characters, no more, no less (CKDI9483 for example)
It's a format that the iPad will play
I've made mp4's of things, folderized them right and named them 'right' and can transfer them to my iPad, so you can use a computer to make the files conform to what the iPad will see.

  • HT1379 Summary: how to transfer files from SD card when the system (Mac OS X v 10.7.5) will NOT recognize SD cards.

How to transfer files from SD card when the system (Mac OS X v 10.7.5) will NOT recognize SD cards?
    Insert the SD card.
System opens iPhoto with SD contents.
Want to transfer files from SD card to system drive.  iPhoto closes
SD card directory removed from the Finder window and is not available again.
I don't want to have to reboot the system every time I want to perform this option.
    What's wrong here.
The support columns show this isn't an isolated incident with all sorts of solutions possible.
This is a simple task - there should be a simple method for the system to recognize SD cards.
    What's the answer?
I've reviewed a recommendation to reset the SMC.

and another thread that says, basically, you must buy extra hardware to perform this simple task,

another one that has the same problem with OS Mountian Lion,
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/21919740#21919740
another one with the problem that says SD cards can't be read by Apple unless the card is formatted specifically for Apple, ie. that Apple is not compatible with other cards, but the problem maybe something else that requires Apple service - (bad SD card reader?).

there are probably more discussions, but I dont' want to spend my entire sunny in Seattle day working this.
    thanks for the help!

When I plug in an SD card, the finder window shows it under the DEVICES section.  At this point, I can drag the contents to the hard drive.  However, when I screw up and click the character on the right side of the name - it apparently closes the SD card and I can't find any command to reload or re-recognize the card.  I have to remove and reinsert the card and then sometimes it recognizes the card.  Other times I reboot and it will recognize it.
What does that character on the right side of the SD card name do?  Is it an eject function - with no way to subsequently reread the drive?
It ejects or unmounts the card. When the SD card mounts click on it once to highlight it and then drag the files shown within it to the new folder.

  • Sony File Commander really doesn't save files on sd card - they vanished after restart

Like in the subject. I've Sony Xperia Z3 dual sim version - 16GB + 64GB Kingston SD card. I was recording very important meeting with my phone. But after a few hours the internal space was full and I moved all of the recordings to my sd card using Sony File Commander. The files where there. But I have to restart my phone and I was so surprised that after doing that all of my files on sd card that I've moved using SFC where gone. I've lost very important stuff.
I'm using Sony Audio Recorder and this program can save recordings only to internal storage. There is no option in settings to change that. Please help! Sony, help!
Going back to factory settings, uninstalling software updates and cleaning data of SFC didn't solve the problem. All versions of SFC have this problem.

    alexdon wrote:
I think this is something related to the microSD cards themselves. Have you tried others?
I'm using two Kingston 64 GB SD cards. The same issue is on my Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. When I remove my SD card and plug it directly through my SD/USB adapter to my computer I can easily cut and paste any files on it and there is no problem with them at all.

  • Cannot import .mts files from SD card. Never received an error message before, but now it is telling me that DVD content is protected, which it is not.

I always import video files, every week, from an SD card (.mts file) no problem. All of a sudden today I'm getting an error message about the content (says "DVD" contact) is likely protected, which it is not.

What happens if, instead of using your operating system to move the files from the card, you leave your card in the camcorder, attach the camcorder to your computer via USB, then use Add Media/From Flip or Camera to open the Video Importer to get the video from the camcorder to your computer (as teh computer's instructions suggest)?

  • Anyone else having issues with files on sd card???

For the last month or so, my files on SD card on my Classic keep "dissapearing" however when I plug the card on my computer everything is there....
Do we know how to avoid this? Is anyone else having the same issues? It can't even back them up unless I take the card out.
    Help!!!

    Hi @oorozcob
Thanks for reaching out! That's a pretty strange issue
To confirm, the contents of your media card accessible on your device but occasionally they don't appear?
If so, when this occurs does the Media Card option within File Manager disappear?
To remedy the situation you may to consider backing up the contents of your media card using your computer, followed by formatting the media card using your device. After doing this copy the content on your PC back onto the media card and monitor the situation to see if it disappears again?

  • Moving acc files to SD card

i would like to put my aac files on an SD card so i can load them into my car.  I understand that Match will provide access to my purchased music and my CD's loaded to itunes as AAC files.  Does iTunes let me put these files on SD card?
    Thanks

Yes.  Just drag them from your iTunes library to the SD card.
If they are not already in the library you are using, get new copies from the iCloud to put in the library, and then copy them to the SD card.

  • Open file using wild cards

does anyone know how to open a file using wild cards in the name.
For example, a certain folder will contain a number of files, with the name constructed as follows:
CALDB_ then a 6 digit serial number, and then 14 characters which could be ANYTHING.  so it might look like this
    CALDB_123456_33KA1234567890.txt
    or
    CALDB_123457_33KA1234567890.txt
The key part of the file name is the 6 digit serial number which is unique, and the CALDB_ which is always the same.
I would like to use a file open command with the file name something like  CALDB_123456_*.txt, but it doesn't appear to work.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Solved!

    Hi Dylan,
I have been searching along our forum, and found a similar question for using wildcards in selecting files. An active user (unclebump) replied on this request with a VI, with which you can select a folder on your computer which is scanned for certain files. I've adjusted this VI for selecting the CALDB_* files. Enclosed you will find this file (zipped) including my test folder.
Maybe this will be helpfull for your application.
    Best regards,
