Files were not received

Damnit, this is frustrating! I just had a customer write to say they did not receive the six files I sent yesterday, so I sent them again, then I sent them one by one. I did have Send Now and have only recently switched to sending my files via Adobe Send (because you've left me no alternative). I had no problems before, ever, and these files are showing up as "sent" on Adobe Send Now, but apparently they have not been sent! I need real help--now. I guess I will have to call tomorrow.

If the files are appearing in your Sent Files view, then I'm very confident that the emails were sent. It's possible that they got trapped by the recipient's spam/junk filter.
This problem seems to be on the increase -- it happened to me over the weekend when purchasing theater tickets with e-mail delivery. When I didn't get the e-mail within an hour, I called the box office and they suggested I look in my spam folder (gmail). There they were.
One thing you mentioned is puzzling, though. You're saying that the files are showing as "sent" on Adobe Send Now? Did you mean Adobe Send?

Migration Assistant - All of the files were not transferred

I transferred all the user files, settings and applications using migration assistant. I went from an intel iMac to a newer intel iMac. Snow Leopard to Lion. I checked everything in the migration assistant except for the iPhoto library of one of the users because it was too big for the main hard drive of the new computer. I copied it manually to the secondary hard drive.
At the end of the migration a window said that not all of the files were transferred and I should check to make sure I have everything I need. (I'm not sure the exact wording). Below that it said that a static IP was transferred and I should not have both the old computer and the new one on the network with the same IP.
Do you think it's just referring to the iPhoto library when it says all files were not transferred? Or could there be something else. Is there a log that I can look at that will tell me what might not have transferred?
As far at the IP thing, I changed the static IP on the new computer so that's fine.

Hard to say. I suggest that you peruse Pondini's Setup New Mac guide and determine if you did things the right way.

The error message is misleading, the problem is that you need WRITE privileges added to the destination directory tree.
Assuming you are using the "date" structure that LR defaults to, find the directory that contains the 2014 folder (the one that works) and add WRITE rights to the parent of "2014".
While you are there, if you want, add "2015" folder to beside "2014" and add READ and WRITE rights to that new directory.

Lightroom 4.2. unable to import. message files were not imported because they cannot be read

Lightroom crisis:
suddenly, unable to import images into lightroom - A window comes up that says ""Following files were not imported because they cannot be read". I was in the process of importing images - 10 images were imported from the shoot then the import stopped.
I tested the card and the card readers by using cards from different cameras and using different card readers. I was able to import the images into a folder on my desktop so know nothing is corrupted.. The memory cards are good, my card readers are good. no setting have changed in my camera. Nothing has changed in my routine. Have been using lightroom for several years.
I import through a card reader, convert to DNG and save on an external hard drive. All very ordinary.
No one I have contacted has had nor knows of anyone who has had this problem.
Unable to get in touch with anyone at Adobe.

On a quick read, it sounds like the same issue that had me dead in the water for 7 days. (LR 4.2) I tested everything - my card readers are good, the memory cards are not corrupted, tried different cards from different cameras,etc. Working my way through all my tech savvy friends and professionals, I was lucky to connect with a great sr. tech person at Adobe. After trouble shooting all lightroom possibilities (3 hours on the phone) we checked my external hard drive where all the images are stored. Even tho the external hard drive had plenty of space and "told me" that it was healthy and functioning well, Adobe had me go into the external hard drive's properties/tools and do a "check for errors. 12 hours later after the program went though the drive one file at a time, it found errors, moved them to a separate folder, and now all is functioning OK. The hard drive had not crashed nor were any images lost. As can happen after some time there must have been a scratch or similar that prevented more images from being written (or read) to the drive. Even though all is working OK at this time, I will replace my external hard drive (and it's back up external drive).just in case there are more "bumps" on the external hard drive.
My tech knowledge is limited, and I am not intuitive about anything digital, so can't add any more information then the experience I had.

Purchased items were not received

I have purchased items that were not received.
I also was unable to update or even use several of my Apps. I read that I should delete these Apps and then reinstall them. I did this and was able to use the Apps again HOWEVER the additional enhancements that I had also purchase were no longer included with the Apps.
I had read that any purchased through iTunes were to be handled through iTunes.
Please return the items that I have purchased, tell me how to retrieve these purchased additions and how I can download upgrades and not lock-up the Apps.
Please send me a copy of my iTune purchases so that I can cross reference them or tell me how I can access a list of my purchases...especially for App enhancements.

It seems to be a problem between LR and Yosemite.

The permissions have been changed on the destination folder where the photos are to be copied into.
You must make sure that the permissions are set to Read and Write.
Or perhaps the destination folder has been changed accidentally to something else, and you need to change it back to whatever it used to be.

Leanne, check the write pernissions on the folder/drive you are attempting to import into on your desktop. The message usually means "cannot be written" - a not so clear message.

I am a beginner. I put the memory card in the card reader. I went to Organizer. I went to "File" -- "Get Photos" -- "From camera or card reader". I could see all the photos from the memory card on the computer screen in the Photo Downloader. In the Photo Downloader, I clicked on "Get Photos". Then I got a message that said "Files were not obtained from device." Then I created a new folder and browsed to it in the Photo Downloader. This time it worked. Was the original problem that I didn't have a folder selected?

Well, I'm guessing here, but many odd things in Elements get cleared up when you reset the preferences. This involces holding down Ctrl+shft+alt when you launch the program and then saying yes at the prompt. It's a bit tricky to get it just right if you have a fast PC but it may be worth a try.

I'm getting this message in my compile log for one of our smaller projects after compiling the project to an HTMLHelp (.chm) output:
The following files were not compiled:
Images\example_scan_mode_1.bmp

Images\example_scan_mode_3.bmp
Finished compiling HTMLHELP in 26 sec(s)
Compilation complete.
But the files exist in the appropriate directory and are listed in the project manager under Images. Anyone have an easy way to resolve this?

Hi all
Something else that may be at play here is the file format involved. Generally speaking, "web friendly" image formats are .GIF, .JPG and .PNG. .BMP isn't really considered to be a "web friendly" image format.

Files were not compiled message

Whenever I compile my HTML Help project, I get the following
message:
"The following files were not compiled:
http:\www.aldon.com"
I have searched the entire project folder for this string of
characters with both the RH Multi-file Search tool and with Windows
search. Neither tool found such a string. The string also does not
appear in the list of URLs.
Any suggestions?

Hi, Bob,
Is that URL the target of a "Jump" button that you added to
the toolbar of a help window? If so, the error message is nothing
to worry about. It just signifies that the compiler, which normally
only pulls local source files into the help file, was incapable of
fetching a remotely-held one.

Import iTunes Media Library, some files were not found problem

Hi guys,
I am trying to restore my music library info via importing from iTunes Media Library xml file I backed up. During import, iTunes gave me error message box saying that some files were not found and therefore won't get imported. After it's done, I checked the iTune and I noticed many of the music files did not get imported at all, even their locations are correct. Is it because iTunes stopped importing at the first entry that it found its location not existed and therefore skipped the rest all along? Even later ones might be valid. Is this the case?
Is there an easy way to find out what those entries are? So perhaps I could go and edit them directly in the xml file. The message box did not give much information
Any help would be really appreciated,

I have now experimented a little more and discovered that although Time Capsule (TC) is showing in Finder as a Shared Drive at laptop startup (and showing a status of a connected user, me) it is not actually 'mounted' in the true sense of the word i.e. the unmount/eject symbol is not showing next to it nor either of the drives connected to the TC. By clicking on either of the 2 drives (i.e. the TC 'Data' disk or the TC USB-connected drive) the status changes to show the dismount symbol on both the selected drive and the TC in the Finder side bar. Launching iTunes after this intervention works every time as per your advice. Not the Apple 'it just works' that I have come to expect and appreciate but at least I now understand how to make it work reliably..........many thanks and I hope Apple just makes it work sometine in the future

In order to see the windows that show sharing and permissions I gave you above, you have to right click on the the item, e.g. folder, HD, etc., and this window comes up. Then you right click on "Get Info" and the windows with S/P pop up. In LR%, if I right click on Destinations folder, this is what comes up:

Still no "Get Info". If I click on the specific file (in this case "2015), this is all I get: Last thought, yesterday out of desperation, I called the Apple store. I am operating on Mountain Lion operating system, and Yosemite is the latest (as of 10/14). The manager suggested that if there had been an update in LR5 that was now only compatible with this later system, maybe that was the issue and I should consider updating to Yosemite. I had no problem downloading photos as of 9/14, but don't think I've done anymore since their update….when was the last LR5 (I'm using LR5.7 currently)? Do you think this might be the problem with permissions?
