Files won't delete from desktop with folder redirection

I have folder direction set up with a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard x64 Primary Domain Controller and a 2012R2Stdx64 File and Print Server that is the backup domain controller. 1 single user out of 20 can't delete files from his desktop.
Folder redirection is configured via GPO and offline files are enabled.
When you go to delete a file it says "Item Not Found" "This is no longer located in \\HSI-FPS01\Users\My Documents\Desktop Verify the item's location and try again."
However, the item still persists in showing, both in the server folder and the desktop however you can't open it.
There are no sync errors, I've done re-syncs. I've also rebooted, refreshed the desktop, etc.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
Only one user have this issue?
I suggest you create a new user account to test folder redirection.
Please refer to this artcile about folder redirection:

  • File cannot be deleted from desktop?

    I have an excel file on my desktop named "77B72200" that will not move to the trash! It's driving me nuts and it won't even move into another folder or anything, it is completely unresponsive. I am almost positive that it appeared there when I downloaded the Solver Premium for Mac 15 day trial... however I deleted the program... HOW do I get this file off of my desk top???
    Thanks!

    You can probably delete it from the terminal. Open one and type the following:
    cd ~/Desktop
    ls
    You should see the file listed here. Note the full name with its extension. e.g., 77B72200.xls or 77B72200.xlsx or something. Make sure you only reference this file in the following. Now type:
    rm -rf 77B72200.xls
    Or whatever the file name is.
    If that fails because, "permission denied," do:
    sudo rm -rf 77B72200.xls
    It'll ask for your password, so type that in.
    I think people blow the terminal and sudo'ing little tasks way out of proportion around here, but for the record: Please make sure you really want to get rid of this file, and that you are only rm -rf'ing the file you want to get rid of. Removing something this way is for the most part not recoverable. The file doesn't go to the trash, it just goes away.

  • ICloud can't sign in on Domain desktop with Folder Redirection

    I've been struggling with this issue since the day that the version of iCloud came out for Windows; I just upgraded to iCloud 4.0 and no improvement.
    I am trying to use iCloud on my Windows 7 Professional 64bit domain joined desktop.  Unfortunately the control panel login screen pinwheel keeps spinning and never succeeds.   Months of researching on the Internet suggests that the cause is the GPO settings for folder redirection (see below), specifically Application Data (see below); i have confirmed it.  I have tried a new account on the same computer that does not have this policy applied and was successful logging in.
    Does anyone know of a workaround for this?  I can't seem to get Apple's attention.

    I am having a simlar problem with my iphone6. It refuses to recognise skype name or password. I can log in fine on my desktop but not on my phone. I have tired several password changes and still it will not work on my iphone6. Any ideas?

    Thanks a lot! Finally got it removed because I'm using this custom Desktop software and it has the HD on it so I didn't want two to show up.

  • File won't delete from WIndows XP BootCamp

    It's late so I'm going to keep it simple:
    I found 2 files in My Documents today, that just sorta appeared there in my Windows XP volume. They don't have an extension, and when I try to delete them with Windows, I get an error, "Windows could not delete these files. The files cannot be found." So I booted into Mac, and went into my Windows volume, then proceeded to try to delete the files. I high-lighted both, and hit "Command+Delete" and clicked yes on the delete dialog. Everything seemed to work, then about 3 seconds later, one of the files reappeared, so I tried deleting it again, and everything seemed to work. I received no errors, however, the file keeps reappearing.
    How do I get rid of it permanently?
    Get Info says it is taking up 0kb and it has no extension. I just don't want it on my computer. I enjoy order, and this is messing the crapping **** out of that order.
    Thanks in advance.

    Get Info says it is taking up 0kb and it has no extension.
    That sounds a bit more like a stuck registry key for an icon than a file.
    Just doublechecking before we proceed ... what are those two files called? (Precise spelling please.)

  • I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help

    I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help

    I experienced this issue as well.
    Background:
    I had opened an ICS attachment for a repeating event on my iPhone, which added the item to my phone's calendar. I did not have the option to delete the calendar entry from my phone, and the item did not appear on the calendar on my Mac. My phone is currently running iOS 7 (but the problem began quite awhile ago; I don't recall which version of iOS was installed when it started).
    Solution (summary):
    Create a new calendar, move the items that you wish to delete to the new calendar, then delete the new calendar
    Solution (detailed steps):
    Create a new calendar
    On your phone, open the calendar app
    Tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
    Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
    Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap the "Add Calendar..." option
    Give your new calendar a good name, such as "Delete me"
    Tap "Done" in the top right corner to save the new calendar
    Tap "Done" in the top left corner to finish editing the list of calendars
    Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars
    Assign all calendar entries that you wish to delete to the calendar you created in step 1
    Tap a calendar entry that you wish to delete
    Tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner
    Scroll down until you see the Calendar field (on an iPhone or iPod it's usually just below the bottom of the screen), then tap the Calendar field to bring up the list of available calendars
    Tap the name of the calendar that you created in step 1 (e.g. "Delete me"); the screen should return to the main calendar entry page
    Tap "Done" in the top right corner of the screen. You may need to then tap the "< Day" button on the top left of the screen to return to the main calendar view
    Repeat the instructions in step 2 for each of the calendar entries that you wish to delete
    Delete the calendar that you created in step 2 (this will delete all calendar entries assigned to this calendar)
    From the main screen in the calendar app, tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
    Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
    Tap the entry for the calendar that you created in step 2 (e.g. "Delete me")
    Scroll to the bottom of the scren and tap the "Delete Calendar" option. You should be prompted with a warning that explains that "All events associated with this calendar will also be deleted."
    If you're sure that the only items on this calendar are items that you wish to delete, tap the "Delete Calendar" button
    Tap "Done" in the top right corner to exit the Edit Calendars screen
    Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars. You should now be back at the main view of the calendars app
    Rejoice, your pesky repeating calendar events have been deleted
    At this point all of the items that you assigned to the deleted calendar should be gone
    Repeat the steps above for any entries that you missed
    Post another message to this thread if this did not resolve your problem

    Hi,
    I just worked on same functionality where i used a button to create excel file with context data and save in local system.
    Use the following code under a button, So on click of button you can directly get the excel file saved in to your desktop without saving on the server
    String ordcaeno="000"sysdate".XLS";
    String str = "";
    for(int j = 0; j< wdContext.nodeZflash_File().size(); j++)
    str =str"\n" wdContext.node<<ABC_File().getABC_FileElementAt(j).getRecord();
    try
    IWDCachedWebResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource
      str.getBytes("UTF-8"), WDWebResourceType.UNKNOWN
    resource.setResourceName(ordcaeno);
    IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createNonModalExternalWindow(resource.getUrl(WDFileDownloadBehaviour.ALLOW_SAVE.ordinal()),
    resource.getResourceName());
    window.show();
    catch(Exception ex)
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException( new WDNonFatalException(ex), false );

  • Old podcasts completely deleted from system with no ability to recover them

    Actually, this isn't really a question, so much as a comment and a very upsetting situation I've found myself in. I updated my iTunes and the next thing I know, all of my old podcasts were completely wiped off of my computer. I had some very rare interviews....all gone now. Anytime a program is going to have a major change like that, there should be some sort of warning. I am deeply upset by this because some of these podcasts are no longer available which means that these interviews are gone. I will never be able to hear them again.
    Thank you iTunes.

    I was going to link directly to one of my earlier posts like this, but I've added in just a little more information...
    I'm fairly sure the reason for this is a due to a mismatch between options to Keep all episodes in iTunes and Keep all unplayed or some similar option on your device when the new option (introduced in iTunes 11.1) to Sync podcast subscriptions, settings and stations has been enabled. I lost all played episodes of all podcast series that I synced to my devices.
    Series that weren't synced were left untouched. iTunes still recorded both my default option and series specific options to Keep all episodes. iTunes doesn't manage my media folders. The deleted episodes were not sent to the recycle bin. Some people have said they found some episodes there so check.
    Here is the recovery process, assuming you have a backup of the deleted files...
    1. Restore copies of all the deleted podcasts to the Podcasts folders from your backup.
    2. Rename the current .itl file with the suffix (BAD), then move it into the Previous iTunes Libraries folder.
    3. Restore a copy of the pre-upgrade library from your backup or the Previous iTunes Libraries folder.
    4. If necessary, remove the trailing date from the library file restored in step 3.
    5. Start iTunes, go to the Podcasts section.
    6. Uncheck the option to Sync podcast subscriptions, settings and stations then click Continue. This should prevent a repeat of the deletions.
    If the above screen doesn't show go to Edit >Preferences > Store and uncheck Sync podcast subscriptions, settings and stations.
    7. On your devices you may also want to change the Episodes to keep to All in Settings > Podcasts and then again with the settings for each subscription in the app.
    8. If, like me, you updated a whole bunch of apps before realizing there was a problem, you may find the restored library has multiple broken links to any apps that you updated. Use File > Add Folder to Library and select your Mobile Applications folder. Accept the offer to replace older versions with the files you are adding. iTunes may prompt that certain files cannot be updated because it can't find the file to add. Keep a note of these as it looks like this happens when both the old & new versions would be given the same file name and iTunes unhelpfully erases the file that it is supposed to add. You can delete any remaining broken entries, close iTunes, then reopen and download from iTunes Store > Purchased > Apps > Not on this computer.
    If you don't have the episodes to restore then at least visit iTunes > Preferences > Store and Uncheck the option to Sync podcast subscriptions, settings and stations before attempting to redownload any older episodes.
    If you've lost episodes that cannot be redownloaded, and you've not done too much with the drive since, then an undelete tool might recover most of them. FreeRecover looks promising, Select the drive, use the options to get file paths and check file integrity, then, presumably, you can restore anything that has been deleted from the podcasts folder that has a good integrity score. The free version of Recuva might also work.

    Have a look at your import setting specifically Store Files:
    Make sure it is set to where you want the originals to go.

  • Datafiles, logfiles, control files, etc. not deleted from OS

    Hello,
    I used the Database Configuration Assistant to create a database(v9.2) and at a later time deleted the database also using the DBCA. Why aren't the datafiles, control files, logfiles, etc. deleted from the Windows OS files. Doesn't the DBCA delete most of the files associated with the database being deleted. Do I have to restart the Windows OS for the deletion of the OS files to take effect. Thank you in advance.

    in advance.Yes, the DBCA is supposed to remove the various files. It sounds like an ownership/permissions problem.

    You would have to rent it again.
    Once started the movie you have 24 hours to complete viewing.
    How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
    You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library.

    Try dragging and dropping the music on top of your iPad to sync the music over, also ensure that you are syncing the recently added tracks.
