Files won't save to remote in CS4.

I started this website in CS3 and right before my upgrade, the "Save to Remote" stopped saving.  I have upgraded to CS4 and still on this one website, I can not "Save to Remote".  Nothing changes on the remote end after my save.
Any ideas on what to check out?
I created a new site and started from scratch copying the files from the remote to my new local folder and still it won't save to remote.  Not sure what to check but there must be a setting wrong somewhere.
Thanks.

You may want to look at the dates and times for both the files on your computer and those on your server.  They should be the same but for some reason the ones on the server are not being updated.  After identifying the ones that are "out of sync" then deleted the old ones from your server manually and "put" the ones on your computer.  try with one file first.
Hope it helps

  • CS4 Photoshop - saving on NAS storage - open file won't save without renaming it.

open file won't save without renaming it.  If you try to save a file that you have adjusted in CS4 Photoshop on a networked drive, it won't save it.  If you rename it, sure.  If you are working on the local drive it is not a problem.
By the way, we have 2 users in house.  Both on Mac systems and both are using CS4 Creative Suite.  One Mac is OSX 10.6.8 - the other is Mac OSX 10.8.3.  The older Mac system does not have a problem.
Is this a Mac operating system problem?  would upgrading to CS6 solve the issue for our Mac OSX 10.8 ?

  • Files won't save in folders

I just purchased Final Cut Studio today. I'm going through the tutorial and my files won't save in the folders created for the tutorial on my HD. I go to "send to" for Motion and Motion opens and asks for a data rate. Then when i choose one Motion opens it's window but there is no project. Any clue?

If you copied the files to your hard drive before working with them, make sure you have permission to both READ and WRITE to all the files involved. Highlight a file and hit Command i (Get Info) to see how the permissions are set. You can change them there if needed.

  • Watermark source file won't save in settings

I have successfully created several watermark images that have source files (both in PDF format and JPG format). But there is one that I cannot get to save. I have tried the image in both JPG and PDF formats, but for whatever reason, when I try to save the settings, the source file is not saved and it just comes up as blank text when I select it for use. I have tried over and over again to save this watermark.
As a result, whenever I want to apply this particular watermark, I have to go and browse for and find the file time and time again.
?? Any clue as to why this one won't save? Is there a maximum number of watermarks that can be saved?

You can look at the place where the settings are saved.
For Acrobat 8 and MS Vista the place is:
    X:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\Preferences\Watermark

File will not save or 'save as'  - error message is: "...could not be saved. No such file or directory." File has been save previously. Is this a preference issue or perhaps a permissions issue?

I repeat that everything dedicated to the save process is different.
The app contain two sets of code, one used under 10.6.8, an other one used under Lion.
Here are the two states of the File Menu under Lion.
Compare them to what you get under 10.6.8.
State #1 when the frontmost document was never saved :
The menu item Save is replaced by Save…
No longer Save As… menu item replaced by Duplicate
New item : Revert Document… (disabled)
State #2 : when the frontmost document was saved at least once.
Save… is replaced by Save a Version
    Duplicate is always here
    Revert Document… is now enabled.
There is an important change in the title bar too.
When a file was edited we get the word Edited on the right of the doc's name. This word is the title of a local menu :

  • CS4 files won't save in CS5

    I did some illustrations in CS4 (v11.0.2) on a PC and now the client is having a problem working with them in CS5 on his Mac. I did seven illustrations for a book our church is publishing. I provided the illustrations to the graphic designer who is using CS5 and Indesign. He transferred the illustrations to his computer and opened them in CS5 but after making adjustments to them when he attempts to save them he gets a box saying;
“the file is locked or you don't have access privileges to the file or folder”
He also tried saving them BEFORE he made adjustments and has the same problem.
Upon hitting “command i” it shows the file is NOT locked. He tried saving them to PSD, EPS and Layered Tifs and got the same message as above.
I went back to my studio and re-saved the files making sure “maximum compatibility” was checked. Then I saved them again as layered tifs in the Mac byte order. I even took them to an older computer and saved them using Photoshop 7. Still, the designer gets the same message and is unable to save them.
I'm an illustrator and have worked exclusively digitally for ten years and have never had this problem before. The files are layered files and are about 25mb each. There are two things that are different about these files than other files I've created in the past.
I changed the color profile to      Adobe RGB (1998). This was so the image looked the same in CS4 and      in Painter 11. I use both programs to do my painting. Again, this      has never caused a problem and I always do the final save in CS4.
I deleted the “background”      layer before saving the file. This was because the client wanted a      “ragged” edge to the illustration and wanted to drop the image      onto a toned background paper.
I don't see why these things would effect the ability to save the file in CS5, but maybe someone else does.
I'd really appreciate any help on this. The deadline date when the book has to go to the publisher is very close.

    Thanks for the reply.
I called the designer and he's putting the files onto a local hard drive. He's running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and CS5 12.0.2.
My copy of CS4 is current (11.0.2).
I provided the files on a CD, DVD and flash drive.
Thanks again, any further help would be great.
He said he'd repaired the permissions but hasn't rebooted since doing it. He's in a large design department and are currently working on stuff that's keeping him from doing a reboot for a little while.

  • Files won't save or put

I recently had to replace my harddrive and therefore reloaded Dreamweaver CS3.  Everything looks fine when I open DW - and upon opening, it says I am connected with the server and I can see the files on the server.  I can even open the files, but there are few options available in the pull-downs, and "put" is not available.  Also, when I try to "save" the file, even if I try to save on the local computer, it will not save to the remote site (it says it is not connected) and the location on the local drive that it says it is saving to does not exist (to the best of my very limited knowledge). Another person on a different computer can access and work on the remote site with no problems, so it is not the server.  It must be something about how I set up Dreamweaver upon reinstallation.  Any ideas?  Many thanks, Sandy

Not sure which OS you're using, but if you use Vista or Win7, the first time you launch DW, right-click and run as Administrator.  Set-up your site definition settings, extensions, browsers and other preferences from this elevated mode.
    Hope this helps,
    Nancy O.

  • MSC files won't save PerfMon changes

I created several .msc files with Performance Monitor snap-ins. Some of them save my PerfMon settings, but others won't. There are no error messages. The last modified date/time on the .msc file updates to the time I saved, but when I open the file again,
there are no counters saved, just a blank PerfMon snap-in.
Tried it on 2 different Windows 7 computers, one 32-bit and one 64-bit, with the same results. I am connecting to Windows Server 2008 R2 servers in the PerfMon snap-ins.
Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

    Hi reprac,
If I understand correctly , the .msc file is a configuration file of MMC .
The Data file of performance monitor should be .log file .

  • Itunes won't download, binary file won't save to computer.

Every time I click on the "Download Now" button, I am able to select what folder I want to download the binary file to.
Once I click save, nothing else happens. I am taken to the "Thank you for downloading itunes" screen, but there is no record of my download anywhere, and the file is simply not saving.

So weird...I don't know why so many folks have this problem. Why won't the silly file download from Apple? When I click "save file" absolutely nothing happens. A dialogue box should pop up asking me where to save it.
My solution was to finally download it from one of the many file servers. I used one called "filehorse" and it downloaded right away.
How can one use their nifty iOS device if they can't install itunes on their computer?!
I tried the recommended "fixes", one of which included deleting the "temp" folder (which was not so easy to delete, required booting to safe mode command prompt) but made no difference. This was all using Firefox. IE is the only other browser on my computer, which seems to be permanently broken (most sites do not show properly even after using IE's "reset" feature).
I refuse to install Chrome, I tried it once and it sucked. Hopefully Apple will fix this silly issue so that next time I need to download iTunes, I can do it. Thank you!

  • Tiger to Leopard file won't save

    Hey folks,
    Any tips here?
I've just moved over to Leopard, and most of my Waves plugs won't validate at all, which is fine I guess. However, my biggest issue is saving my projects.
"File with specified name and version number already exists Result code = -48"
Anybody? I have projects to do, this is just killing me.

Trouble was with my Migration from my old system.
Logic wanted to save files in it's new location, but I was trying to save it in a previous folder that di not exist on my new machine.
Solution? Drag Logic over to the new system, save a session, and manually drag my old session from my ext.HD to my new machine.

  • My files won't save as a pdf. they only save as a .jps and .mpo. why ?

When I open CS6 I get an error message that  says "could not load the fastcore routines module because it does not work with this version of photoshop ".
THen another comes up saying "could not load the MMXCore routines module because it does not work with this version of photoshop ". The program opens and when I save my file as a .pdf it will only save as a jpeg but when Iook at the file extension It is a . jps and a .mpo . How do I correct this?

Which operating system are you using?
Did you copy/move some plugins from an older version of photoshop into the photoshop cs6 Plug-ins folder?
Or in the photoshop preferences, did you point the Additional plugins to an older version of photoshop?

Windows Explorer has Preview turned on in most cases. You can either close Windows Explorer or turn off the preview feature. Apparently windows is setting a flag with the preview that says the file is open and that is what Acrobat sees (or maybe it is something about Acrobat, don't know). In any case, the preview function usually causes this problem. You should still be able to save it to a new name, but that means an extra step.
Oh I didn't know what you meant by saying Windows Explorer at first, until I googled it and realized it's this window. Shame on me.
So yeah I started using the preview feature, it's really comfortable to use, and when I closed the feature it worked! No problems! ThanksBill@VT!
But is there any setting that I can change so I can leave the preview feature on and not having trouble with the saving thingy?

  • Files won't save since Maverick upgrade

I have a file that exist in a folder and would like to replace it with an updated version of the same file (example.xls with example.xls) it asks if I want to replace and I say yes but the original file remains. I must first delete the original then svae the new version. This is only since I did the Maverick upgrade. Is there a fix for this.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
