Filing Bug Reports With Apple?

I SWEAR Apple is getting more and more like Microsoft.
Can some one PLEASE tell me how to file a BUG REPORT to Apple on the 10.5.3 update? I am getting graphic driver problems again like they were on 10.5.0 and 10.5.1.
Contacting Apple with a direct bug report seems near impossible and the website is of little help in finding this information. I am outside of Apple Care support.
10.5.3 graphic drivers are broken again on a "Dual 2HHz Power PC G5" with the following Graphics Card:

Bringing up the Save Dialog for e-mail attachments for Apple Mail 3.3 (924) cause the background to totally go wacko but it is restored when the save dialog disappears.

Then go to http://bugreporter.apple.com/ and login there to file your bug report. Note, any discoveries there you are under a non-disclosure agreement.

Filing Bug Reports in Configurator

I spend a lot of time looking at the logging in Console that comes from this app, and I have a few uncaught exceptions and Crash Reports that I can recreate consistently. Can I file bug reports with Apple? Where do I file bug reports? I have seen the Apple Bug Reporter, and there is no clear product type that matches Apple Configurator (iPad, iPad SDK, App Store, Other) and I am not sure if this is even seen as official. Anyone does this before?

Please do file bug reports using Apple Bug Reporter and they will be routed to the Configurator engineering team. Provide as much information as you can about the problem, what specific actions you take that cause it to occur, versions of all relevant software (Configurator, OS X, iOS, etc.), and anything else that seems relevant.

How do I send a bug report to Apple about iPhoto?

1) Okay this is probably very basic but I'm trying to find a way to send a bug report to Apple about the problems I'm having with iPhoto and PE since downloading Quicktime 7.1.3.
Can anyone help?
2) Is there any way of finding out if Apple are onto this problem with Quicktime 7.1.3?
3) I've also asked on another thread how I can uninstall Quicktime 7.1.3 and re-install 7.1.2. (the reinstaller for 7.0.4 doesn't work on my computer) but so far I haven't got a reply.

Bug (reported to Apple) - Slide to unlock occasionally fails!

Below is a copy of my bug report, I just missed an urgent call (with no call back number)... so I was prompted to finally report this problem!
Has anyone experienced this (I noticed some similar reports but none that exactly match my description).
NOTE: Please do not suggest that I turn off the "Slide to unlock" feature. I need to engage it, otherwise I will lose access to my corporate email.

I am experiencing a problem with the Slide to Unlock feature.
It is an inconsistent problem which is hard to repeat intentionally. However, it seems to occur randomly, about every 1 in 15 calls.
I believe the conditions related to the problem are as follows:
- Phone enters Auto-Lock mode (5 minutes)
Password Lock is engaged
- Screen off (phone not in use for more than 5 minutes)
Problem description:
When I receive phone call, I attempt to slide the "Slide to unlock" slider to the right. The slider does move to the right as intended, however, it has no affect on displaying the keypad.
The expected result should be the numeric keypad so that I can enter my keycode. As previously mention, these actions to answer a call do work more than 90% of time.
Additionally, pressing the Home button or the power button also has no affect while the phone is still ringing.
Only after the ringing has stopped do I regain control of the phone.
Note: This is not a new problem with iOS: 4.3 (8F190), rather, this did begin with the last iOS version.

failed usually 50% of time. I've since reactivated my old Nokia N95 until
we see what the next gen iPhone holds for us. My iPhone 4 was nothing
but trouble.
Despite this problem (which occurs rarely) and a few other idiosyncrasies, I can't agree with your statement. Since upgrading from the Android platform, the iPhone 4 is (by far) the very best phone I have ever owned!
It is hard to feel sorry for all those Android 'suckers' out there still complaining and hating their service providers for not releasing the latest aOS fixes. Complaining about bugs that will likely never get fixed...that is unless they upgrade to new Android hardware. Android... NEVER AGAIN!
BTW, I am no fanboy... I am just pleased with the iPhone user experience!

Bug Report : with iOS 5.1 when a call failed and we choose call again, the screen of iPhone4s becomes black (until touch Apple button)

I have this bug when my call don't reach my receiver. iPhone offers choice to left the call or retry it. If I retry it, the screen is black but the call continues and I can talk with my receiver. I must click on Apple button to deblock the black screen and after i can close the call. This bug appears since the upgrade to iOS 5.1.

There is no Apple button.
There is a home button, power button, mute switch and volume up/down buttons.
Which of those are you actually pressing?

Bug report with proposed solution for mounting external drives for ftp access

Hello Guys,   I registered to inform you about something I would classify as a bug. I realized this when I used an external drive with my WD My Cloud and trying to access the drive via ftp. It simply was not visible on the ftp, but was accessible as samba share. I digged a bit in the scripts and found this:  /etc/init.d/mountDataVolume.sh   [...]

The problem: find -type d will not find symlinks and external drives are represented by a symlink from /shares to /var/media/EXTERNALDRIVE I propose adding the following code at the end of init_mounts()   for D in `find /shares/ -maxdepth 1 -mindepth 1 -type l -not -name ".*"`; do

done That will look for symlinks in /shares and call add_mount() for each symlink to bind mount it to SHARE_BIND_MNT. I think this is not intended aka a bug because I found this comment for add_mount(): # - If <share_name> is a symlink to an external volume, then create the bind mount

Navigate the page from the local directory and the page works.

Results, the album doesn't work, only text in page.

Apple Bug Reporter won't let me sign in

Don't know where else to post this. When I try to sign into the Apple Bug Reporter with my correct email address and password, it redirects to the same login page with no error message.

If you are using Safari to try and login to the bug reporter ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click Details. Type Apple in the search field then remove all results.
Now empty the Safari cache. Press Command + Option + E
Quit and relaunch Safari and try logging in.

CrashReporter - how to get SL Server to send crash reports to Apple?

When applications run by users on client machines crash, the system typically offers to send crash reports to Apple. I'd like the same thing for my SL Server where I have slapd crashing periodically - does anyone know how to achieve this?

There's no option to automatically upload such reports.
As mentioned in this technote on the issue:
In addition, if the program that crashed is running as a logged in GUI user, CrashReporter will present the user with a dialog asking them whether they want to submit a bug report to Apple
Since daemon processes such as slapd aren't likely to run as the GUI user, CrashReporter won't offer to upload them.
If you want to submit them manually you can do so by filing a bug report at http://bugreport.apple.com/

Bug report: Time stamp misalignment in recent list

Bug report: With the new compact design, go to recent pivot, tap on a conversation, press back button to go back to recent, notice the time stamps to the right of the list have moved even more right, with text being cut off the screen.
Using Lumia 1020 with Cyan and 8.1.1 DP.

I figured this would be the best place to post it so that an Apple representative might see it.
Actually it's not as likely to be seen here since there are so many posts for any Apple rep to have to scan. The best way to report an issue to Apple is through the feedback pages or, if you're a member of Apple's developer program, through the bug reporter.

Bug Report: Probable Cause of Stuttering in iTunes v7.0.2.16 -- Crossfade

Has anyone ever tried to send a bug report into Apple? I've looked all over and can't find anything that would let me send in a bug report.
I think I have tracked down one of the issues with stuttering in iTunes v7.0.2.16 Its in the crossfading in the play back options. If I disable crossfading, gone is the stuttering and cpu hogging at the start of a track. The length of the stuttering, how far it goes into the next track, is the length of the crossfade. Also, has anybody else noticed that with the stuttering comes a maxing out of the CPU? While typing this my computer will go unresponsive when iTunes starts a new track and stutters and I can watch the CPU Usage History spike during the attempted crossfade.
I hope that Apple finds this and it is a help in fixing the issue as I really do like iTunes. And if anyone knows how to send this on to Apple as a proper bug report, just post a comment letting me know and I will do it.
And lastly, any comments showing the reproduction of this evidence would probably be helpful to Apple in resolving this issue.

I've double and triple checked all of the bullet points in your troublshooter document, and all is in good order.
I found that my Direct X was out of date, and got excited when I upgraded it and started playing tunes. For about 5 or six tracks, there was not any skipping during the crossfade, but alas, the problem is still there, and still garbles the tunes at the very end and release of the crossfade.
Not ALL tunes, just a certain intermitant few.
FYI, this bug was never an issue until v7.0 was released. Crossfading in previous versions was not a problem, until now. So there must have been something that has changed, from the previous to this release, and my assumption is the gapless playback. Just a guess, as it is new.
Any other thoughts as to the cause? And beter yet... the solution?
I sincerely would like to keep using iTunes as my default music player...

Bug report iMovie '11 Title, Picture, Transitions Location Duration bug

In iMovie '11 version 9.0.1 (1095) there is a very annoying bug if you use Norwegian or Dutch. I presume in other languages as well, but in English I can't repeat the bug.
Set System Preferences > Language & Text to Nederlands or something else (not English).
In iMovie, add a Title, try to change Duration in the inspector to something between 10 and 59 seconds. The clip will change to 9:58 seconds.
I don't know how to do bug reports, so there you go. My parents and parents in law (south of 70) would love to see this fixed. I am very proud they even use this stuff, I don't see them relearn their patiently acquired skills in English.

In iMovie, if you click iMovie/Provide Feedback, you can send your comments and bug report to Apple.
This is a user to user forum, so they may or may not see it here. I would not count on it.
I think it is great that your parents are making movies.
