Fill HCM Form fields in creation process

Hi,
I created a HCM Form, everything is working fine so far. i can create a form in the portal, the workflow is triggered and all buttons do what they should do.
But i got a request, that the form should come up with some prefilled information.
I implemented the IF_HRASR00GEN_SERVICE~INITIALIZE method and filled some fields with test information. But its not rendered.

I read that i have to call Transaction HRASR_DT to make the Backendservice the default. But this transaction is not available in my system. I also read that this transaction is only available in EHP 4.0 but we do not have this EHP and we do not plan to install it.
Is there a workaround this or do i do something wrong?

In the configuration you can make backend service as providing the default value.
Personnel Management->HR Administrative services->Configuration of forms/processes->Configuration of forms
->Create form scenario
Here in the form fields you can say default value coming from whichbackend service. For defaulting values,
pass the value to the field in the INITIALIZE method, maintain the form scenario at the above mentioned place and
in the form have the correct binding

Filling of form fields changing depending on how PDF is opened, why?

First of all, here is the error message that I am trying to deal with:
"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
Software & PDF details:
Adobe Reader 8. V8.1.1
PDF Producer: Toolkit http://activepdf.com
PDF Version: 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x)
The PDF is set to with:

After investigation I have found that:
If I open the file by double clicking, I am able to fill in the fields and save without any problems.
If the file is opened as a result of a software process trigger (which is what I actually want to achieve), the "Filling of form fields" is changed to "Not Allowed". This then results in the error message described above.
Also, I have another PDF with exactly the same settings as above (PDF version and Producer etc), which successfully generates as a result of the software process trigger. This file that works does not change the "Filling of Form Fields" value.
So, my question is, why would a particular PDF change the "filling of form fields" value depending on how it is opened?

Ok, that is a useful result, telling us a lot.
Some background you need. Reader 8 CANNOT SAVE FILLED IN FILES normally. To be able to save them they must be specially prepared. This is called "Reader enabling". (In your original message, "rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader") To prepare a file Acrobat can be used, or a server product which has had many names but is currently LiveCycle Reader Extensions. If this is not done, the form cannot be saved, whatever its origin.
Now, a file may not be changed/damaged in even the slightest way after this preparation. This will produce the message seen.
So, your test seems to show
- the original file is OK, undamaged
- by the time the file is delivered from the database to the user it has been damaged/changed.
So, you now have a path to pursue through the software.
(To clarify: this only applies if you used Windows Explorer to save the file, NOT any save function in Reader; if you saved in Reader please repeat the test with Windows Explorer).

Setting "Filling of Form Fields" document property to "Not allowed"

I am using Adobe LiveCycle Forms, and I want to set the property "Filling of Form Fields" as "not allowed" in the pdf documents it renders (that property
can be found in the "Document Properties" window of Adobe Reader, under the Security Tab).
Is there any way to set it , in the server (using the EJBClient class that renders the form) or
in the client (via javascript)?.

You should be able to set this on your XDP file from within Designer. Go to File-->Form Properties
and you'll see a PDF security tab there with the same options you have in Reader.

I need to fill in & submit online forms but I keep getting the above message. I realise I can view and fill in the forms in an adobe window, but I need to do this online, and it is a secure website with the form imbedded. Is there any way I can have the "filling of form fields" supported so I can do this, please?

I created a fillable pdf with the 30 day trial and am trying to load onto our Wordpress website. I am receiving this message when I attempt to open the file and test, "This pdf contains fields. The filling of form fields is not supported." Help.

Your PDF is in web space. That means that to access it you have to use a browser. Today many browsers have a built-in PDF reader that is, well, less than adequate.

Creating Worksheets with Fill-In Form Fields

What is the best application for creating worksheets with fill-in form fields? The worksheets will be emailed to my clients for completion. Once completed they need to be able to save them to their computer and/or email them back to me. What application will they have to have in order to fill in and save the PDF?

In short, you will need Acrobat to create the forms. They only need the free Reader to fill them in and save them.

Issue with filling out form fields in Safari?

Has anyone noticed any issues with filling out form fields (specifically text boxes) in Safari 6.0.2 on Mac OS 10.8.2? When I attempt to test forms I've created, there is a delay when typing values into text boxes. Other types of input controls (check boxes, drop down lists, etc.) appear to work fine. As far as I can tell, this only occurs with Safari 6.0.2 in Mac OS 10.8.2. Prior versions of Safari do not have this issue, nor does Firefox in the same OS environment. When I refresh the form, the delay is not as noticeable. I'm searching the WebKit bug reports as well, but nothing seems to point to this issue. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

How to fill out form fields in Adobe Reader

I was set a PDF, from my employer, but am unable to fill out form field, and sign it using Adobe Reader. I have an I Mac, with the latest OS, and a free version of Adobe Reader.

Make sure you have the very latest version of Reader (XI), by going here: Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions
If you still can't fill it in, maybe it doesn't actually have form fields in it. You can then use the commenting tools to add text to the file.

Merging Documents - Fill in Form Fields Issue

I have a customer that is using Acrobat Professional 11.0
Here are the details - can she do this using the merge documents together function rather than having to do the documents separately?
When using the merge documents together function, form fields that are left to be filled in (date and time is when example), do not stay as fields once the PDF is created - they are now be populated with a number/letter combination (example: 28T)
This does not occur when the documents are converted to PDF's separately.
This functionality worked fine with the merge documents together feature in Acrobat Professional 10. What changed from one iteration of the software to the next?
What is the fix for this?

HCM Forms - Field Group

We have to use field groups in 'Process Form scenario for generic serives'. Where do we create these field groups and where do we assign the fields to these groups.

For "generic" services, in the Design Time workbench, you will see two steps for your config. Oddly enough, they seem a bit backwards.
First, you will see the "field groups and operations" step....this is the second/last one listed below your generic service. There, you will define a field group (any ole name you like) and then assign WHAT operation in your generic service that this group of fields should be used to perform.
Second, you will go "map" your "form" fields to the generic service fields and field group you defined. This pretty much tells the generic service "hey, take these fields here and use them for that operation". The reason for grouping them in field groups is that you might want to group several different fields to call the same operation with different values.
Keep in mind, EACH of your backend services has it's own config of fields groups/operations/fields and are independent of each other. Althought I think it's bad practive, if you wanted to use the same field group names in different backend services, it wouldn't hurt anything....they don't "see" each others relevant datasets.
Now, this is the point that most everyone gets REAL confused with. The "field groups" you define in your User Event config have NOTHING to do with the field groups in your backend services. They do NOT have to match names and honestly, it doesn't even matter if they do. It is just another way to group a bunch of fields together to say "hey, THIS group of fields is what I am talking about".

2 cascading multiple dropdown list boxes that fill a form field in Infopath

I have a request to do this:
first field is a cascading list box is type of work (can select more than 1 type of work)( separate list)
then based on the choices above the
second cascading list box has the various people's names from the first list box (can select more than 1 person)(separate List )
then I need to from the second list box have a form field hold the various email addresses of all the people selected in the second list box.
how would I do a multiple tier cascade in Infopath form?

those are good examples, but here is the thing the first two dropdowns can be more than 1 selection, could be 50 items selected.
and selection 2 dropdown doesnt lookup into selection 1. but they do have a related column.

Preserve form-fields through multiple processing passes

is it possible to have a a rtf template filled with data in multiple passes?
I want to create a rtf working copy for the user in a first pass through the publisher and then fill the remaining fields in a second pass.

Well, I've found a dirty something in the meantime:
In the original rtf template I'd put a declaration like <<?variable_name?>>
In the xml input data I'd set the element content to the variable name itself like this:
<variable_name>?variable_name?</variable_name>.
Now, BIP generates a rtf with <?variable_name?> during the first pass.
The xml input data for the second pass will have the actual data in it and so that's going in during the second pass.
While this is not what we actually need (we want all declarations in the rtf untouched if the variables are not in the datasets), it'll do until somebody has a better idea.

Why are my filled-out Form Fields partially printing?

Using Acrobat Pro 9, I converted a MS Word medical questionaire into a fillable form. I've tested and printed it on Windows and Mac without any issues in the past. However, recently there's been an issue where Adobe Reader allows all of the fields to be filled, but when printed, only the upper 1/3 of the page actually prints the answers in the fields -and the rest needs to be filled in by hand. Others have had issues with having all of the fields print except for the checkboxes.
It still prints perfectly for me, so I'm having a hard time troubleshooting. I wasn't sure if this could be an issue with recent updates, or whether it's a problem with Acrobat Pro or Reader.
I last modified the file on 11/2/09, if that helps. Link to the file.

I was testing my local file (all fields were visible/printable), which I thought was the same one on the server. Must've gotten mixed up.

[solved] ADF BC - Automatically fill in form fields

Hi all,
I think i just need pointing in the right direction. I am using ADF 11g BC.
Here is the case in EMP/DEPT terms. I click a row on the DEPT table, and click add employee button. A popup launches with a form. I want to have the DEPTNO and DEPTNAME filled in already based on the row that was clicked on. I currently am using createWithParameters when the button is pressed and am able to send in the deptname and deptno as parameters, i am just unsure of how to actually fill in those 2 fields of the form.
Any pointers/suggestions?

I had that problem too recently. It seems the parameters table is disabled wrongly. I worked around that be manually editing the XML via the Source tab. Here's an example of a "Create with parameters" action with two parameters:

Hello, I am running with this operating system: Microsoft windows XP Professional version 2002 service pack 3
Just downloaded the newest version of Adobe reader
Using an updated version of Firefox.
There is an online form that I must fill out in adobe reader online... I could download it, but then I would have to FAX or mail it in, as apposed to directly sending it to the organization it is from via a "SUBMIT" button at the end of the form... I do not have a printer.

Do you use the Firefox PDF viewer, or the Adobe PDF plugin? The Firefox PDF viewer is incompatible with many modern PDF features.
