Fill-In Forms Not Filled In

A customer has to complete and print multiple fill-in forms from a government agency. She had no problems doing so for years with Adobe 6. The agency "updated" their forms such that a later version of Acrobat is required. On my advice, she bought Acrobat Pro 9. Now when she opens the fillable forms that have pre-entered information, the blanks are empty. In my absence, another tech installed FoxIt Reader on her computer. When FoxIt opens the same PDFs, they are properly populated.
There is obviously a problem with this installation of Pro, but I don't know where to look or what to look for. Suggestions?

we have the same or similar problem.  Forms we distributed for email responses come back looking empty, unless we click on fields - then we see the data; but we cannot print them, or save the data.
Foxit Reader shows the data perfectly.
This is with Acobat 9.10 (full and reader both).

    Hi,
you can find documentation for Designer under this website
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/documentation.html#task=4,5&module=2
In Designer you can use the JavaScript API of Acrobat.
So the Devnet for Acrobat is also a good source.

  • Which tool will permit me to programmatically fill PDF Forms?

    Hello,
I am a developer looking to add functionality to a C++ application.
I would like to pre-populate some data fields in a PDF and then dispplay the results to my Clients.
I have managed to get AcroAXDocShim to pop a modeless dialog box with the original PDF image.
Now, if I want to move on to actually filling the form (not designing or making Forms), which tool is available?
I would like to be able to distribute the solution to my Clients as part of my application.
    Thanks,

    Hello Leonard,
    Thanks for getting back.
I have a small Windows application. I plan to sell about twenty copies next year.
My end Users would have Adobe Reader installed. Not Adobe Acrobat.
I don't want to paint myself into a corner though, so if Acrobat is required (is there an Acrobat 'Light"?) for form filling, I need to factor that in as well. I will need to explain the the Users that Acrobat is required much the same as Windows is required, to run the application. And they will need to pay.... Of course I can make it an optional feature, so if they buy Adobe Acrobat, the forms will be pre-filled, otherwise the forms will be displayed empty....
I have seen some information on the web regarding iTextSharp, which may be something I need to investigate.
However, I have no issue with paying for the proper tool if something is available. I just have no idea of what is available on the menu.
As I mentioned earlier, I am not authoring PDFs or Forms. And my Users will not be authoring either. It is simply a matter of filling in the Government forms.
I am able to open the PDFs using the AXDocShim. It was pretty straight forward.
Now, it would be nice to take the next step, and automatically move the data from the database to pre-fill the form before displaying the PDFs to the Users.
Looking for any advice or guidance.
    Thank you again,

In order to fill in a form, the person that created it would have needed to add fillable form fields. Just because it looks like a form, doesn't mean it has those fields.
If it does not have them, you cannot fill it out with Reader.

  • With new updates from Acrobat Read my computer freezes and I can not fill in forms anymore, how do I fix these problems?

After updating Acrobat Reader my computer now freezes when I try to fill in forms using Acrobat Reader, this never happen before! Now the only way to unfreeze my computer is to turn it off and restart it, which is not how a computer is suppose to be turned off as nothing responses to get it unfrozen(ESC., Contol-Alt-Delete)! The I shows up as if I am able to fill in forms, but after trying to fill in the form numerous times various ways, it always ends up freezing my computer up! I HATE THE NEW UPDATES! Why can't I speak with a live human, through Adobe? I would not want to buy anything from any company which would not allow me support by talking to a live human over the phone, as typing messages can be misunderstood! Their is no point to have Acrobat Reader any more if it does not allow me to fill in forms! I could use the reader that came with the computer! It is sad that for myself filling forms using Acrobat Reader was nice since there are times I am unable to write anything due to tremors, unfortunately I am not alone in this type of medical problem and we the disabled the majority of us are on Social Security! Everyone know that Social Security does not give their recipients enough money to live off of! It is sad when a person is ill they lose more than their livelihood, so called friends abandon you too! So how can I fix the freezing problems and is there any Adobe that I can fill in forms which will not cost me money and or another company that may offer this free of charge?

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • Setting "Filling of Form Fields" document property to "Not allowed"

I am using Adobe LiveCycle Forms, and I want to set the property "Filling of Form Fields" as "not allowed" in the pdf documents it renders (that property
can be found in the "Document Properties" window of Adobe Reader, under the Security Tab).
Is there any way to set it , in the server (using the EJBClient class that renders the form) or
    in the client (via javascript)?.
    Thanks

You should be able to set this on your XDP file from within Designer. Go to File-->Form Properties
and you'll see a PDF security tab there with the same options you have in Reader.

  • The filling of form fields is not supported

I created a fillable pdf with the 30 day trial and am trying to load onto our Wordpress website. I am receiving this message when I attempt to open the file and test, "This pdf contains fields. The filling of form fields is not supported." Help.

Your PDF is in web space. That means that to access it you have to use a browser. Today many browsers have a built-in PDF reader that is, well, less than adequate.
    Some resources that may help.

I have a acrobat reader, can I import text delimited data format to a PDF Form so that it can auto fill into forms that was created? If not, what about FDF and XML data

Yes, you can do all of that via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Import Data, if you have Acrobat.
If you only have the free Reader then you can still do it, but it requires a script.

While testing my purchase form, everything seems to work with Paypal. However, when I select 'cancel and go back to filled out form' it goes back to a blank form. So, if customer wants to make a change, he must fill out the entire form again. Is there a known issue or am I doing something wrong? I don't know how to attach the form to this post, otherwise i would have

    Hi;
Yes, it is a known issue and unfortunately the feature and it is not working.  It will change very soon but not for the better, for now the wording will simply say return to the form until we've fixed returning to the filled out form.

  • This PDF document contains forms. The filling of forms is not supported.

I get this message when I attempt to open a password protected document. "This PDF document contains forms. The filling of forms is not supported." It won't even let me enter the password.  What do I do?

    Hi stephenh20710301,
Could you please let me know if you are using the latest version of Reader i.e 11.0.10
Ask the PDF creator or if you are the creator, open the PDF in Acrobat XI (latest version) and choose "File> Save as Other> Reader Extended PDF> Enable more Tools"
Let me know if this helps.

  • I filled out my own form saved it and sent through email, when I opened it what I filled out was not there, why would this be

I filled out my own form saved it and sent through email, when I opened it what I filled out was not there, why would this be?

What software did you use to fill-in the form (Preview, perhaps) and what software did you use to open it after you emailed it?

  • Form Captcha Issues - Error message when not filled vs. traditional "Please fill in the following:"

Just discovered an issue regarding a form using a CAPTCHA.
When I formerly submitted other forms on sites with CAPTCHA's in the forms I created, when one did not fill out the form, a pop-up window would appear allerting the customer to "Fill in the form field" that were required, including an allert to "Enter Word Verification in box below."
I have created a new form for a new site and seem to be encountering a different issue. When the form is not filled out and the user clicks "Submit" a new page loads with a red error message saying: "ERROR: An error occurred. Image verification failed. If you believe this is incorrect, please contact your system administrator or go back and re-submit the form."
How can I correct this to simply have the same required field pop-up window appear like was happening with former developed forms?? Not sure why this form is doing this when all prior forms with CAPTHCA included were just fine. Haven't done anything different to the form that I hadn't to others in the past....Please Help!! Thanks.

    Thank you for posting.
Please provide us the page URL where you have placed the form and we'll further investigate this issue. You can also contact support directly by creating a ticket or via chat.

I was filling a form online, then I got to where I had to upload a Microsoft document but when I clicked on upload document I only had the option of uploading photos and videos, but not Microsoft doc. Please help.... How do I upload Microsoft doc  and other related office documents?

    tis true
I know, I always do that but I was in a rush to get somewhere and I was relying on my thousand dollar Mac to do some kind of recovery or something. I know Microsoft always keeps temporary files (I think Mac does too, part of me asking here in this forum was for someone to tell me where I can find those files) and when you go to open Office Works then it gives you the option of opening the last recent documents, saved or not saved.
I usually copy paste into my emial just in case something goes wrong with the created document but I just didn't have the time to login and do all that My loss, you live and you learn, BUT still if ANYONE got any info on this, PLEASE DO CHIME IN *keeping the hope alive*
