Fill in forms with iPhone iPad Reader?

I tried to fill in a form using Reader for iPad and iPhone, but the fields were not visible and I could not input text or mark radio buttons or check boxes. I know the form works on a PC or Mac. Isn't this possible on a mobile device?

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

Chrome uses its own (incompatible) PDF viewer.
Download the PDF to your local disk, then fill it from there with Adobe Reader. Or use a browser that uses the Adobe PDF plugin.

I can not open an IRS fill-in form with x-1

I can not open an IRS fill=in form with x=1 I have no problem an another computer running an older version of reader. I am running windows 7 on a relatively new computer, and it also opened forms with the older version.

What exactly means "can not"?

I have created a PDF form in Acrobat 8.1.0 Pro and enabled the "Filling of form fields" feature.

I can open this form in Adobe Reader, fill fields, save, load / repeat process as many times as I want with no problems.
What we would like to be able to do is "pre-fill" some of the form fields using an in-house application with some data and save. At a later time, users would need to add additional information.
If I open one of these pre-filled forms with Adobe Reader, it immediately gives an error message and closes the file:
"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
Other programs such as "Foxit" and "AmiUni PDFSuite" don't seem to care that the file was pre-filled.
Is this because Adobe Reader actually checks some sort of CRC or signature which was created at the time the initial PDF form was created by Adobe Pro - and if the signature is no longer valid Adobe Reader won't go any further?

What would be the options to get around this problem? Is there a way to accomplish this with Adobe Pro? We need to be able to pre-fill some fields in the form from our application, then have the user complete filling the form manually.

Enabling usage rights in reader grants specific rights for a given document - form fill in, saving, signing, etc. Reader checks if something else has been done to the document beyond the scope of the rights granted and apparently the program you are using to add the form data is triggering this test for some reason. There is a digital signature which isused to check this, plus an analysis of what has changed in incremental save sections.
What you are trying to do should work in principal. If the developer of the application is available, have them look at what else is being changed besides the addition of form data. They should be able to fix the problem.
If the pre-fill data is the same for each user, you can definitely run the pre-fill and then enable usage in reader.

Filling in forms with adobe reader in firefox on ubuntu64

I am trying to fill in pdf forms with adobe reader 8.12 in firefox 3.03 and ubuntu64 8.04.
The forms display in firefox and I can check boxes, but when I try to select a text box I am unable to type. I can enter text by right clicking on the box and pasting. I also cannot use tab to move between boxes.
If I save a pdf to disk and open it with adobe reader then I can enter text and cycle through boxes with tab.
Sometimes I am unable to load pdfs in firefox that I have viewed before. When I click on the link a blank page is displayed. I can open them if I set firefox to open them externally with acroread rather than in the browser window.

It's completely up to the IRS to create a form where the information fits in the field. There is nothing you can do with Reader since it is simply what it is called, a reader.
For you to change the document properties would require using the full version of Acrobat.

Using iPad2 to fill PDF forms with calculating cells

I currently have the PDF Expert app. installed. I have created a PDF form with calculating cells and cells with multiple selections using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. It works on my PC on 2 different PDF reader apps, however when I load it in PDF Expert on the iPad it does not calculate and the multiple selections aren't there. It also does not keep the formatting of the cell. I set the cells up as currency, however it does not show as currency once loaded in the PDF Expert app on the iPad. Is there an app out there for the iPad that will allow PDF form fill in and will also show the cell formatting and calculations? Or is this a limitation caused by iOS? I have also tried Adobe's reader app for the iPad and it doesn't show it on there as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'd be amazed if you could. I wouldn't think it possible to even open a PDF, much less edit one.

PDF Fill-in forms with Digital Signatures - LDAP, Roaming ID's

Hello, my organization is trying to be more "Green" by taking regular PDF documents that use to be printed, filled in by hand, signed and then routed... To a PDF fill-in form that contains a Digital Signature Block. I can easily and successfully create PDF fill-in forms, where Im running into an issue is with the Digital Signatures.
I can easily create a Digital Signature that is stored on my local computer and sign documents then forward them via email on to the recipient. However, what we would like and have been failing and making happen is to set up a signing server where the signer can fill out the PDF form and then sign the document by pulling their digital signature from a Directory Server, in our case LDAP or Active Directory.
From the information that I have found on the web I know this can be done without use of expensive third party applications. Thanks for the reference to the digsig user guide. I've reviewed this documentation and the majority of it I had already tried however one TIP that is in this document that I hadn't seen before points to setting up a FDF file to import AD secure to easily import the ID's
More specifically, I have configured LDAP and the Security settings in Adobe Pro and when attempting to connect to our LDAP server is when I run into the issue. I am not able to connect. Is there any additional information that you know of that can shed some light on LDAP configuration with Adobe PDF forms for digital id's?

Filling PDF Form with XML data file

I need help.
I created a form with LiveCycle Designer. I filled it and generated a XML data files. Now, I would like to fill the same blank PDF form with this XML data file.
I know that I can do it with Adobe 8.0 but I must do it in an C# / .NET application that I have to create.
(Forms I'm creating are not for me, I create the forms. Client uses them form but he don't have Adobe Acrobat 8.0, so he can't realise the automatic PDF filling with Adobe Acrobat 8.0)
So I am looking for help with ".NET" "COM" or other library to help me to do it. If someone has other idea just give it.

Thank's for your reply. I used XPAAJ and it works very well but my company his develloping software with C# langage.
I tried to convert XPPAJ to C#, I did it with the Java Langage Conversion Assistant but "Adobe Library" included in jar files cannot be translated to C#/.NET library. So, I can't use it.
I found some C#/.NET API on the NET but they are very expensive and my company don't want to pay. They want me to create my own solution with library given by Adobe when you buy Adobe 8. So I am looking for this library.
Is there an Adobe LiveCycle Designer SDK to help me.

Outlook 2007 sync with iPhone & iPad: All events on device one day behind !

I stumbled over this recently when I started with my brand new iPad. Date/Time/Region/Timezone settings on desktop computer (win7) and iPhone and iPad are identical. Sync with Google calendar and 3rd party products on iPhone / iPad / Outlook works perfect.
Can maybe anyone shed some light on this ? iPhone calendar used to sync fine, not sure when the problem started (maybe with OS 3.1.2 ?)

It would be nice if the iPhone let you create smart albums on the fly, but it's pretty much a dumb client for iPhoto. So, you'll have to do more work in iPhoto setting up what you want to see on the iPhone.
My method--I have smart albums (eg, Rated pix from Hawaii, Rated pix from Christmas 2009) and sync those. I also sync all Rated Pix as a big album, but that's not that usable. So mine's not a very efficient method---I wind up creating lots of albums and sorting out which ones I want synced.
A workable approach for you might be to create multiple smart albums, perhaps based on date--eg, "checked photos from Jan-June 2010". Create one of those every six months and you've got some basic, easy to maintain organization.
I would actually like to see both iPhoto and iTunes have a feature--"sync my rules to the iPhone and reapply them to the big bucket of music/photos files that I've moved to the iPhone". But I doubt Apple would ever do it. But you can Send Feedback from the Help menu in iPhoto, if you like.

How to fill out form fields in Adobe Reader

I was set a PDF, from my employer, but am unable to fill out form field, and sign it using Adobe Reader. I have an I Mac, with the latest OS, and a free version of Adobe Reader.

Make sure you have the very latest version of Reader (XI), by going here: Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions
If you still can't fill it in, maybe it doesn't actually have form fields in it. You can then use the commenting tools to add text to the file.

Need to create .MP4 that works with iPhone/iPad

I'm under the gun here and running into a wall and would appreciate anyone's help:
I'm currently creating video content that's being hosted on an HTML5-based site. Because of this, we have specific requirements about what we can/cannot use for formats.
The most acceptable format is an MP4 wrapper with H.264 encoding and AAC audio.
However, the files that are currently deployed won't play on iPhones or iPads (iOS).
The HTML5 standards guide states that: "Mobile phones like Apple’s iPhone and Google Android phones support H.264 video (baseline profile) and AAC audio (“low complexity” profile) in an MP4 container."
I don't know what a "baseline profile" with "low complexity" audio is.
When I look in Compressor, there are settings for iPhone and iPad, but this makes an .m4v file.
Is the only way to support web video on iPhone/iPad with an .m4v file?
If it can support .mp4, what program/settings should I use to ensure playback?

Filling out form with pre-determined values

I am new to LiveCycle. I want to set up a form where if a person hits a button or check box, it fills in the form with predetermined variables. I want to there to be several different buttons/check boxes which if selected fill out the form with the predetermined values. These values would be different, depending on the check box/button selected. Is this possible?
Just to help understand a little more, I am designing a medical prescription form.
If the practitioner selects 'Option A' I want it to automatically fill out the required fields in the rest of the form with the predetermined values (set by me).
Similarily if the practitioner selected 'Option B', it fills out the form with another set of predetermined values.

After looking at your form, I understand what you were going for. You want several fields prepopulate values when you select either Option A, Option B... and so on. Here is the script I use for the different fields, I would also suggest adding the same script to the initialized event so you can save the state of the form after it has been changed.

Contacts sync with iPhone, iPad & MacBook Pro but not calendar won't

OK, so on my iPhone and iPad I have software V 6.1.3, my MacBook Pro 10.8.3. I can get contacts to sync with all 3 but the calendar nothing wants to sync.

OK, I made a change to calendar on MacBook Pro and it syncd with iPad & the iPhone. I deleted it on the iPad and it syncd with the MacBook but not the phone. So apparently the problem is between the iPhone & the iPad.

Mac not syncing with iPhone/iPad

Can someone help me? My Mac is acting up. Over the past 3 days, I have not been able to get my Mac to sync with my iphone or ipad like I have in the past. When I open up my calendar on Mac, it says it cant be refreshed and won't let me do a thing until I force it to quit. I input things on my reminders and notes on my Mac but it won't show up on my other 2 devices. But if I put stuff on my iphone/ipad it will show up on my Mac!? I've tried updating, shutting down, connecting with a USB. I don't know what else to do. I really don't want to have to delete all my stuff because its a lot! Help please!
