Fillable forms not fillable on iPad

Why is it that I can't fill out a protected fillable form on my iPad using the Adobe Reader App, but I can fill it out on my computer? Is there any chance that you might fix that issue?

  • Why doesn't the image from my fillable form not appear when I save it as a PDF?

I created a fillable form and when I save it as a PDF and view my image at the top does not appear. How can I fix this?

Never mind. Apparently it was just that image.

  • Why Are Password Protected Forms not Fillable on Reader App

I have made a fillable form on Acrobat X Pro that is protected with password security in order to deny printing or editing (other than filling the form and commenting), however the app will open but will not allow you to fill it. The document's forms are fillable on any other computer. How can this be fixed?
It is reader version 10.4.1 on a Asus Transformer TF300T android Ver 4.1.1

As you have discovered, Adobe Reader for Android does not yet support filling encrypted forms. It is something we are considering for the future, but I cannot give any insight into when we will have that support available.

  • Fillable form not working on most PC's. What do I do?

I created a fillable form on my mac and it looks great. I even added electronic signatures and a submit button that emails the form to an email address for my client. This is the first time I've ever attempted this. I uploaded the form to the server for their website and on my mac it looks and works great. I've checked the form on 2 seperate pc's and the from says "This portfolio is empty". I also checked the properties of the form on those pc's and it says that the form is not fillable. However, on the mac and on another friends computer, it is fillable. I went back into the original form and check all the security that I could find and as for as I can see, everything is set up correctly. But obviously it's not.... PLEASE HELP. This is a time sensetive issue because my client is waiting for this form. The link to the form is:

Thank you for any help you can give.

I made a document in iwork pages and exported it to a PDF. Then I opened it in Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 and turned it into a fillable form. I do not know how it turned into a portfolio. I never intended for it to do that. I don't even now what that is.
After creating the fillable form, I did add a submit button, which I am going to remove anyway, but then I told it to send to an email after the submit button was pressed.

  • Why will my web form submit but my fillable form not submit with the same data in both?

i have developed a form in formscentral. When I trest it as a web form, it submits all the data to my attached fromscentral response form. I copy and paste the same data into tjhe fillable pdf form I generate from the distribute forms option with a submit buttion, and the form will not submit. It gives an "unable to connect to server" error.
When I try an empty form. it will submit. When I delete data from text fields. I will eventually reach a pint where the form will submit.
Is there a file size limit on the fillable pdf for submission to the formscentral response form?

    Hi Mark,
    Sorry for not being clear.
There is a system limit of 10000 characters in a multiline text field. Say you designed a form where a multiline text field has a limit of 20 characters. The following text will submit without error in the HTML form but will fail in the PDF form:
    1234567890
    123456789
In the HTML form there is a total of 20 characters in the field value, 19 digits and a linefeed character representing the newline. In the PDF form there is a total of 21 characters in the field value, 19 digits, a carriage return, and a linefeed.
    Regards,

  • Form not fillable

Hi,  I am reasonably new to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 but am reasonably quick to learn new softwares so when I post on here it is because I simply can't figure out this software.
Here is my situation.  I create a form and add fields so that it can be completed and sent back to me.  However, when I have my assistant try to fill in the form fields using Adobe Standard 8, it won't let her.  I have enabled the Extend Features in Reader but it still won't allow her to use the form.  I have tried saving it on my computer and sending her a copy and I have tried using the distribute form and sending it to her.  Nothing happens.
My situation is, that I need to be able to make fill-in forms to be placed on a website so that people using Adobe Reader or Standard will be able to complete the forms and either:
    1. print the forms out to submit to a third party
    2. save the forms to their computer so they can go back to them later to finish
    3. submit the forms via email
Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I work for a non-profit organization and spent alot of money on this software that I am not fearing won't do what I need it to do.
    Thanks much in advance.

    Hi,
Thank you for responding and I will greatly appreciate your assistance.
I have tried using the LiveCycle, using both the import from word and creating new and allowing LiveCycle to create the form using the word doc as a template. I have tried using Adobe to create the form and discovering the fields also.
I have followed instructions found on the web using the print to pdf option in Word then using the add or edit fields as well as allowing Adobe to discover the fields.
I have posted the form on the site, the link is: https://acrobat.com/#d=lFKX-0SdbU8HZqwHAYMx5Q
I welcome any suggestions or tips that you may be able to give me.
    Thank you,

  • Fillable forms not working all the time

I have many PDF forms that work for some people and not for others. I have tried different browsers and different machines some with Adobe reader some with professional. When users hit the submit button sometimes the forms go to the correct email and other times nothing happens. I have also enabled extended features for reader. I can't seem to find any logical explanation. Any suggestions?

You mention browsers... Many browsers nowadays use their own PDF plugin, even if Acrobat or Reader are installed, and unfortunately many of these plugins are sub-par, especially when it comes to scripts and form fields. You need to make sure that the files are always opened using Adobe software, not any of these built-in PDF viewers.

  • Fillable forms not working with iOS6

Created a PDF form in LiveCycle. Opened the form in Acrobat 9.0, extended the features to Reader. The form has drop down boxes, radio buttons, and comment boxes. This form worked in Adobe Reader for my iPad until I updated to iOS 6. What can I do?  I really need this.

One of the support people provided this response a few weeks ago:
In most cases, the problem is that you are filling an XFA form. We don't support XFA (or LiveCycle Designer) forms in the mobile Adobe Reader, but in some cases users were able to fill on the device. Because we don't actually support filling it doesn't work correctly and viewers other than the mobile Reader cannot see the data. In our next release, we've disabled filling for XFA forms to avoid this confusion.

  • Why the "sent back" button, that I have setup in my form, not working on iPad??

I have developed a form with Acrobat 9 Standard and I want to monitor the answer with tracker.
everything working on desktop windows application but if I try to fill in a form on iPad, the button "sent report" doesn't work.
Reader App can share the filled form by email but, in this case, "tracker" is not able to identify the sender.
    with button doesn't work??
    thanks
    Ciao

Sounds like you should restore your iPad.  For one thing, that will bring it up to current iOS rev (6.1.2).  For another, that should clean out any junk and further make sure the two numbers you're referring to agree.
By the way, a viola is a musical instrument in the violin family.  The word you're looking for is voila

  • Forms not submitting from iPads

Been using forms for almost 12 months but since the 18th June the forms are no longer submitting.  As this has to do with student assessment we are a little pushed for a solution
    iOS 6
    Safari
this happens on site and off site with various versions of safari

It's is over our wireless network, we have set the iPads to use Private Browsing last year after we had an issue with form data being cashed on the iPads, off site on my own iPad on a home network I had the same problem.  This has worked for almost 12 months now, on the 18th this month we started to see a delay in forms submitting, staff were hitting the submit button several times and I notices multiple submissions across all 4 forms we use, then on the 20th the forms stopped submitting. We have gone back to using normal browsing and will just clear down any cashe regularly.
IPads are all running iOS 6
I have tried creating a new form from the form templates, no customisation and the same happend I was unable to submit.
I have tested this on Chrome on the same iPads, and used the incognito browsing, and had no problem at all, form submitted fine, so I don't think it is the forms

  • Fillable Form will not print from Adobe Reader on iPad or iPhone - Works on a PC

I created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro.  I saved it giving it full Adobe Reader capabilities.  I emailed it to myself and a friend so that we could open it up on our iPad and iPhone using Adobe Reader, fill in the information and then print the document.   When we send to print, it only prints the form, but not anything we entered.     When I opened the document in Adobe Reader on my Dell PC, it worked fine and I could print the document including everything that I entered.    What could the glitch be with iPad and iPhone.  We are running the latest IOS6 version with Adobe Reader  installed.  Why won't this work?

It should work with the update to Reader 10.4. "Enhaned compatibility with AirPrint means improved printing of completed forms as well as documents with comments."
I don't have AirPrint on my printer to test. Is your printer AirPrint compatible?
I can get it to work with Printer Pro which I'm running on my iPad.

  • Is there a way to make fillable forms iPad aware?

I'm creating fillable forms, in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, for medical professionals who are having their patients fill them out on iPads using the PDF Expert app. Is there a way to make the forms iPad aware?
For example, when you enter an event in your iPad or iPhone calander there's that wheel where you can choose the date. I want that wheel to show up when patients are filling out a date on their forms.
I know that you can alter the PDF form to extend to Reader so is there a way to do something similar with PDF Expert? Or is that not a possiblity yet?

There are a number of apps for the iPad/iPhone/eReaders/tablets that can process Acrobat forms but not LiveCycle Desiger forms. Adobe has Adobe Reader X for mobile.
There are links for develpers on that page.
Have you tried contacting the PDF Expert developers?

  • Fillable form created with Acrobat Pro and sent to iPad by email.

I Create a Fillable form in Acrobat Pro and emailed it to an iPad. I loaded the PDF into Acrobat Reader for iOS. The file is opened, all fields filled and then it is emailed. So far so good.  I then exit reader iOS. Later when I come back in and open the file the fields are still filled. If I do this same process on a windows PC Acrobat reader functions exactly the same but will not save the data in the form when the application is exited. This is exactly what I want. How do I get Reader iOS to perform in this manner? It is imperative that the fields in this form be empty every time I open it on the iPad.
    THanks

If I open your Form with Reader XI, modify it, then close it, I am prompted to Save.  If I select “Don’t Save”, then, of course, the modification is not saved.  If I select “Save”, the modification is saved.  So it does not appear that any logic has been embedded into the form that clears the modifications prior to Save.  Its possible that older versions of Reader do not permit Save, however, a user using the current version of Reader: Reader XI would need to be trained to select the “Don’t Save” button for your workflow to be valid.
With the Mobile Reader, save is implicit.  So there is no prompt to Save on close.  The modifications are saved automatically.
If you want to start with a reset form each time it is opened, there are a couple alternatives:
Users can duplicate the unfilled form and work with the duplicate each time, thereby leaving the original in its unfilled state.
You can embed some instructions into the form that clear its contents on form open.  Note that with this option, the prior content (pre-clear) will still be in the file even though it is not presented to the user.  This would be a problem if multiple users were using the same device and the form content were sensitive.
I’ve sent you a version of your form with option 2. implemented that you can try.

  • Open fillable form on iPad from Website

I have a form on my schools website- http://s3.amazonaws.com/scschoolfiles/480/application_form.pdf -that will not open on an iPad, or in any web browser. I can download and open the form, but the teachers at the school would like their students to fill this out on their iPads. All of the iPads have the latest version of Adobe Reader, but the only thing I am able to get on the devices is the "Please wait....." message.

Ok, Thank You. I was thinking that might be the issue but wasn't positive.
Is there a way to create a fillable form that will not become a XFA file?
