Fillable Forms Return

I created a fillable survey form which I want to post on my web site. I used Adobe Designer to do it. I added the "sumbit by email" button and put in the email address they should be returned to (mailto:[email protected]) but it doesn't work. If I test the form by filling it in and trying to email it, it asks me to either save or print the form, but not submit it. Am I missing something? Only thing I could find in help is that the user will have to save the form and then email it to the address I listed. This doesn't make sense if you have a return via email button you should just be able to click that. ???

Can you post your form so we can have a look?

  • How to enable users to sign and return fillable forms

    Hi,
         I have completed a fillable form with a signature box (this is a registration form) to send to users. I have had responses that say (depending on extended rights) that the form can be completed and saved but not signed or signed and completed but not saved.
    is there any way to have the form completed, signed and returned.
    Apologies if I am missing something really obvious.
    thanks
    (should mention that i was going to use the convert to Echosign function but some of the fields have javascript which is not sopported after the conversion).

    hi George,
         thanks for the quick reply - i had sent two version to a "test mule" one reader extended one not, this is where the problem outlined above took effect. one would save once completed but would not sign and the other would sign and complete but not save.
    it seemed to be one or the other but never completed, signed, saved and returned.

  • I need a fillable form that I can send to my clients and have them fill out and return via e-mail

    I need a fillable form that I can send to my clients, have them fill it out and return via e-mail

    Hi,
    You can save your form as a submission-enabled PDF form, send the PDF form to your clients and ask them not to submit the data using the submit button in the form but send you the PDF form after they fill it out. "Save Submission-Enabled PDF" button can be found in the Distribute tab of the form.
    Thanks,

  • Is there a way to save a fillable form (in Reader) as a static (uneditiable) image and send it for signature without the recipient being able to revise the fields at all?

    Is there a way to save a fillable form (in Reader) as a static (uneditiable) image and send it for signature without the recipient being able to revise the fields at all? I have designed a number of fillable forms and sent them to our clients as Reader extended pdfs to be filled out and sent back. Now, certain clients want to be able to fill in the fields and save the doc as a pdf that can't be tampered with so that they can send it to their own people for signature to be returned to them hand-signed and scanned via email.
    Since the forms have been secured, and my cleints are only using the free Acrobat Reader, how can they save the filled in form as a static pdf to send on for signature? They do not want to have to print, scan and email. Is there an app, plug-in, simple solution to this?
    Thank you,
    Rumor

    The signature WILL work! I've just looked into it more, thank you so much for pointing me in that direction.
    I get it now, it locks the form fields in place after my coworker fills them in and signs it (as the very last step).
    I wish I would have asked on here a full day ago. Would have saved a lot of headache and Googling.
    Thanks again.

  • Fillable forms in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

    I am using Acrobat XI Pro to create a fillable form from one of my word documents. I have a field with 7 drop down boxes. Within the drop down, there a 4 choices and each choice has a numerical value.
    i.e. One drop down box is: Safety and the 4 choices are:
    Critical event = 20
    Documented near-miss = 15
    Risk = 10
    No safety issue = 0
    I want the user to choose one and then have the numerical value autopopulate
    There are 7 of these drop downs that will have a grand total.
    Is there a way to do this in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

    I looked up a javascript but I don't think I did it correctly.
    I have a very basic calculation:
    Safety: Dropdown list containing:
         Critical = 20
         Documented near-miss = 15
         Risk = 10
         No safety issue = 0
    Next to the dropdown I have a text field text box where the user can enter the numerical value (0, 10, 15, 20)
    Then I have a Total Score text field text box where I used the "Calculate" tab, "Value is the sum", "Simplified field notation": then I picked the 7 fields
    This returns the total of the entries in the 7 boxes
    Just seems like there should be a simpler way.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 - Form Return as pdf instead of xml?

    Hi Bill,

  • Acrobat Standard XI - Sending fillable forms to people who only have Reader?

    Hi there,
    I really hope someone can help me, as I am quite frustrated. I have thought about buying Acrobat for a while but my most recent need is what really encouraged me to buy it --
    I want to create an interactive, fillable form for our customers to fill out and resubmit. Although I can create the document with the form fields fine, my co-workers who only have Adobe Reader either can't fill it out, or can't save it once it's filled out, and have been returning them to me blank.
    Is there an extra step I need to take to ensure that people who can only VIEW pdf's (such as people with Adobe Reader) can interact with the form and send it back to me filled out? Not all of our customers are going to have shelled out $300 for Acrobat. If this is something that I can't accomplish with Acrobat Standard, then I essentially wasted $300, which is a pretty sizable amount of money. I will not be spending an additional $200 for Acrobat Pro and I will feel kinda duped by Adobe, to be honest.
    Please help.

    Try67, I appreciate the response.
    However, when I go to Save As Other, my only options are "Text" and "Word or Excel Online."
    Is it true that I can't save it as a Reader Extended PDF in Standard, and that I have to upgrade to Pro? Seems kind of ridiculous to have to spend an extra $200 for this simple tiny capability.
    Any other insight you have would be very, very, very much appreciated.

  • Sign +  in Fillable Forms

    Hi
    I am trying to fill one of the fillable forms (pdf)online. However for some fileds the space provided is not enough. Such as for a date, when I type 2008 I see a + sign as I type 8, so when I print the form I see 200+ instead of 2008, as if there isn't enough space for the character 8, or so I think. How can I fix this? Thanks

    How can a user, with the free Adobe Acrobat reader, fill in and return a form, electronically, with the content of all fields kept intact?
    As the user, with Adobe Reader 9.0.0 (and the "AcroForm.api" Plug-In, Version "9.0.0 6/12/2008"), I can not find any way to fill out and return the form PDFs I receive from my employer (for annual peer reviews) or from other organizations for online registration (trailnet.org, for long distance bicycle rides).
    I get the "You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records." message, when I open the file, and the "This document does not allow changes to be saved. Any changes you have made will not be included in the document when it is mailed. Do you want to continue?" message when I do "File -> Attach to Email...". In IE, "File -> Send -> Page By E-mail..." does not display an error message, but like all other options, it sends a blank form, cleared of all data.
    Here's an example form I can't seem to fill out and send electronically:
    http://www.trailnet.org/documents/08-10-bfc-century_register.pdf
    It seems like I must be missing something obvious, because otherwise the functionality would be much less useful than we thought.
    Thank you for any advice or suggestions you may be able to offer!

  • Trying to transmit fillable forms as attachments

    Using Acrobat Pro XI crwating fillable forms saved as other allowing receiver of form sent as attachment to fill in, save with data and return as attachment. Seems saving feature is stripped when sent as attachment.

    Hi;
    Are you using the FormsCentral desktop application included with Acrobat Pro XI to create the PDF form?  If you are, what "Saving" feature are you referring to?  Just saving changes to the PDF when someone is filling it out?
    One note about sending out a FormsCentral PDF as an email attachment is that you want to alert your users that they need to use the Free Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to fill out the PDF, other viewers will break the PDF which may be what you are seeing.
    Thanks,

  • Fillable form appears blank when completed

  • Emailing a completed form without it saying "Form Returned"

    Using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.06) to create fillable, savable and emailable forms, with an email button.
    When using the users default email program the subject line comes up: Form Returned: xxxx.pdf.
    In the email body it states Form Returned:  xxx.pdf . The attached file is the filled out form.  Please open it to review the data.
    When users see the words "Form Returned" they think the email failed to work.
    Can this wording be changed so that it is less confusing?

  • Detect if fillable form is open in Acrobat (as opposed to Reader or web browser)

    I have a fillable form that is Reader Extended (so it can be saved from Adobe Reader). After a user fills in the form, he clicks a submit button that sends a data stream to a servlet. The servlet embeds this data as XML in another version of the form, converts the form to be PDF/A compliant, and returns the new PDF/A form with embedded data. That all works fine when the fillable form was open in either Reader or a web browser. But if the user has the fillable form open in Acrobat when he clicks the submit button, the embedded data is stripped out of the PDF/A form that's returned by the servlet.
    It's not a problem if the user fills in the data while the form is open in Acrobat, as long as he closes the form and opens it in Reader or a web browser before clicking the submit button.
    Is there a way to detect if the fillable form is open in Acrobat (perhaps in the preSubmit event?) so I can display a message warning the user to save and close the form, and then open it in Reader or a web browser before clicking the submit button?

    I added the following code to my submit button, but it gives me the same appType and host.name values for IE and Acrobat, so I can't tell them apart:
    var
    viewerType = xfa.host.appType;
    var
    viewerName = xfa.host.name;xfa.host.messageBox("Viewer is "
    + viewerType);xfa.host.messageBox("Host is "
    + viewerName);
    viewerType is Exchange-Pro
    viewerName is Acrobat

  • Reader-enabled fillable form is corrupted on Mac

    I created a Reader-enabled (extended) fillable form that can work fine if filled out in and saved in Reader. But some users are opening and filling out the form in their browser. When it is returned  to me, it is unopenable. If the form is forwarded to an android phone, the file opens fine. If the form is then forwarded back to my e-mail I can open it. What is happening? What can I do to prevent the corrupted form?

    You are going to have to find out what apps are being used on the Mac and android phones to fill-in the form. Unfortunately most users just click on the PDF and use what ever opens the PDF and might not even  know what app is being used.

  • Fillable form fields for an Employee Performance Review ?

    So i've designed our Employee Perfomance Review in InDesign, exported the PDF and created form fields in Acrobat 9. The goal is to have a PDF that contains fillable form fields for our yearly reviews that can be filled out, saved, and re-opened and edited again in Adobe Reader. They will need to be edited by several people from different computers.
    The problem i'm running into is this: Each employee will have at least two supervisors contributing to their reviews. So, this form needs to be able to be edited by one person and saved, then forwarded to the next person who would in turn add their comments. The second reviewer would then save their information, send it back to the first reviewer, who would finalize the document, save it digitally and print it out so we would have a hard copy.
    The main goal is to have a document that can be passed back and forth and remain editable.
    I can use the Distribute Form option in Acrobat, but this information needs to be accessable by the completer of the form and HR only, and not myself. Using Distribute form would require HR to purchase a version of Acrobat to distribute the forms and access the information...either that or they would have to use my computer to distribute the form and recieve responses.This still doesn't solve my main problem. From everything I have seen, the distributed forms can only be submitted, and not saved or passed around.
    If the PDF is sent out as an attachment, it can be filled out and printed to PDF to save it digitally, but it can't be edited again in Reader.
    I'm looking for a way to utilize Acrobat for this, and not resort to using Word or some other program. The reason we upgraded to Acrobat 9 in the first place was because we thought it would make this process work. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    aaardvrk

    Thanks. It looks like we're covered under 15.12.3(b) since this document will only be distributed to about 10 supervisors. I interpret this to mean that we can use this document as many times as we like as long as the total number of Users (supervisors) doesn't exceed 500.
    "For any unique Extended Documnent, you may either (a)... ; or (b) Deploy such Extended Document to no more than five hundred (500) unique recipients without limits on the number of times you may extract information from such Extended Document returned to you filled-in by such Recipients."
    Thanks again.
