Fillable pdf on iPad

I am unable to use a fillable pdf on my iPad

I emailed the pdf to myself. When I downloaded the form it gave me the option to open the form in the adobe reader app so that is what I did. Sounds like it is the java script issue. I will check with the agency that developed the firm to see if they did it in java script unless you know of a way to check that.

FormsCentral Fillable PDF on iPad

If I create a fillable PDF and distribute it through FormsCentral, will people be able to fill out the PDF and submit on an iPad like they would on a computer? We cannot use web based forms because most of our sales people that are in the field do not have data or internet service (the connectivity in those areas are horrible). Therefore, I need them to be able to open the PDF on their iPad, fill it out, save it, and submit it when they are able to connect to a data or internet service.

If they have the latest version of the Adobe Reader mobile app on their ipad then they can fill out the form and submit to FormsCentral. Make sure they have the latest version - we just released this functionality.

The scenario is that when we do a job as opposed to our regular contract work, at a large nationwide retailer, their accounts people want the shop's stamp, as proof of the work being done.
Currently the 'paper' service report is just stamped. For the regular contract work, whoever signs the service report just uses their finger to sign the report, on the iPad.
On a PC the shop could just set up an electronic signature as their 'shop stamp', but the iPad is another story.
I am having a vision of ink stamps all over the iPad screen. LoL
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Unlike the desktop version of Adobe Reader, Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support stamp annotations yet.
If you'd like, you can submit the Feature Request form. The Product Management team will take your request into consideration for a future release of Adobe Reader for iOS.

I would like to create a fillable pdf for my employees that are using the ipad

I need to have my employees turn in forms/reports on a daily basis so I would like to create these forms where they could enter the input but are not able to alter the form (Adobe calls this a "fillable pdf")on the ipad and then be able to email it to me. Any ideas on a good app

PDF Reader Pro Edition says that it can handle PDF forms and allows emailing of documents:

I haven't tried it myself but it's gotten good ratings. You would create the forms on your computer using Adobe Acrobat Pro.

PDFpen pro can be used on the Mac to generate fillable forms. It is much less expensive than Acrobat.
For IOS, I would check out
PDF Expert by Readdle
DocuSign Ink
I know the allow you to sign your name on PDF forms.
I would think they can extend that to fillable forms.

If you want to edit the pdf form then you need to purchase the subscription to Adobe Acrobat DC.

Adobe FormsCentral has reached end of life and is no longer supported.

Multi-platform compatibility issue with my fillable pdf

Hey guys/gals -
Here is the run down: I created a fillable PDF for use with my clients to collect data prior to meetings because the original fillable word document that my firm provided was running into issues - especially with mac users. The auxiliary goal that I had for a fillable PDF - in addition to cross platform compatibility - was for my busy clients to be able to complete the form on their iphones/ipads on the go. Unfortunately, I have been receiving emails from clients saying that the document wont save or saying that the completed document is attached and it is returned completely blank and I was hoping for some expert help. I've attached my document below and would really appreciate your thoughts/wisdom on how I can fix it.
To summarize:
Problems
Clients complaining that they can't save the document
Mac Preview destroys the document
Client's say the document is fully completed but when I open the attachment it is blank
Goals
Create a fillable form that works on mac & pc in addition to mobile devices
Cannot use form central or like online services due to data sensitivity

I'll repeat the recommendation to not use Preview. As the form author, you can't prevent it unless you add some JavaScript that activates the fields if it's used in a PDF viewer that provides sufficient support.
If you receive a form that was filled-in and saved with Preview, it may appear blank but actually contain form data. You can open the form in Acrobat and export the form data to FDF/XFDF and import it into a blank form, which you can then save.
For users who cannot save, you should Reader-enable the form in Acrobat or tell your users to use Reader 11. In Acrobat 11 you Reader-enable by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

Trying to converting fillable word documents to fillable pdf-when opening in Reader, no longer fillable

I am converting fillable word documents (set up as tables with protection activated) into fillable pdf forms using LiveCycle but am having problems once I try to open them in Adobe Reader 9.2. I am unable to save the pdf as dynamic (the only option is static). They are no longer fillable and show "You are viewing this document in PDF/A mode". Any advise...what am I doing wrong?

I check my settings and I don't ask a PDF/A files. It's a PDF standard.

I inherited this form from someone who is no longer with the company. I need to be able to change the values but can't figure out how. I'm new to LiveCycle so any help is greatly appreciated.

When you click on the field, right click to properties. If the tab isn't there then go to the top toolbar, click on Window and it should appear in the list there. Once you click on it in the Window menu it will appear as a tab on your properties box.

I guess you are referring to "Tool Tip" you can update those in "Accessibility" Pallet...in designer you would access this by Shift+F6.

You're in luck. Create the first field and then right-click it (in Form Edit mode) and select Create Multiple Copies. You'll be able to specify how many copies of the fields to generate, and at what intervals. The nice thing is that although the properties of the new fields will be identical to the source one, they'll each have a unique name, so you'll get an instant "table" of fields.

Fillable pdf's returned by clients are readable only one line at a time

We have been emailing fillable pdf questionnaires to our customers for them to complete and return via email. When some of them have come
back, they are only viewable one line at a time, we need to highlight the fillable field that the customer completed so we can view their answer.
Does anyone know why this occurs and why it would be isolated to a few cases? Thanks!

Creating a Fillable PDF with Acrobat Pro 9

Hey there, i've got a problem when trying to create a fillable PDF Document.
I simple want to get a calculation done.
I got Checkboxes and i need a calculation like this:
For example:
If there is a "x" in the field named checkbox1, then it should go forward and check what number is in the Field named "Hours1"
if its higher than 2, it should put a 0,25 in the field, if higher than 4, put a 0,5 in the field, if higher than 6, put a 0,75 in the field and if higher than 8, put a 1 in the field and if nothing is written in hours1, leave it blank
Like:
If checkbox1 > 0 then if hours1 > 2 then 0,25 else if hours1 > 4 then 0,5 else if > 6 then 0,75 else if > 8 then 1 else ""
i used this calculation on excel but now we wanted to send a fillable pdf via email, but the recievers of the email always mix up the calculation, so i wanted to have it already in the pdf and calculating by it own.
i found basic things like field1 + field2 but i just saw that i need javascript to get what i need.
but well, i dont have any idea of JS.
maybe u can give me some links where i can learn it or something else.

"Automatic Form Recognition" looks for blank areas next to text and assumes the format.
You probably will need to place each individual form and write each script.
You can find articles at Planet PDF and Acrobat Users Community and there a number of books on how to create and program forms.
