Filling aggregate with different level of aggregation.....

WE have total 7 aggregates to be activated and filled, 4 belongs to first level ,and three in second level.By mistake we filled  one of the  aggregate at second level, now we want to fill the aggregate which are in the first level....... will there be any inconsistency or problems when aggregate at lower level is filled and activated before the higher level.

Hi,
All of them can be filled individually.Doing so, It does not make any effect on other. Generally we can see fast filling if we do all of them at a time ,because system does the Higher granular aggregates filling first and it use them to fill lower granular aggregates,But it does not mean that we facr inconsistency if we do any one in advance.

  • Nesting of AGO or TODATE functions with differing level arguments is not supported

    I have a column in BMM which calculates the Year-To-Date Sales. This function uses the ToDate function to caculate the YTD.
    I need to develop another formula column which shows the last-year's YTD.
    I develop this formula in BMM by AGO on the YTD column which already uses a ToDate function.
    In BI Answers when selecting this column, results in the below message:
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 22044] Nesting of AGO or TODATE functions with differing level arguments is not supported. (HY000)

    To reply to my own question. It appears I got it working, that is, the error message problem is solved, but I still have questions on how to use these functions.
    To get it to work, I added the primary key D_TIJD.TIJDKEY at the level of the lowest grain in my dimension (level tab).
    What I still wonder is how to make it select the right values. I have the following hierarchy: bookyear - bookperiod - week. A bookperiod contains 4 or 5 weeks (4,4,5 in a quarter), so 12 periods in one year. I defined a measure at period level and another at that level with the ago function, that should return the figures for that same period of the year before. My first question is, whether to go back 12 periods or 52 weeks (which is the lowest grain in my dimension)?
    The second question is how to use a combination of TODATE and AGO so that if I calculate the current period (of which only 2 weeks are passed), I also only want to include the same two weeks for that period one year ago in order to make a correct comparison. How do I do that???

  • Problem in Aggregate with Multiple level of dimension

    Hi,
    I have a BI repository with a snowflake schema. I have also designed the business model with snowflake, It works with drilling and all but I am facing problem when I am
    creating  a logical column aggregating with a higher level of dimentation. Let me illustrate that :
      I have the Following Hierarchy :
    Tournament(id, Name) ---- > Round (id, name, tournament_id) -------> Match (id, Name, RoundId ) |  Match is fact table and other 2 dimension.
      I also created a logical dimension called tournament with 3 levels.
      Now say I want to create a logical column Total Number of Matches , aggregating  to the dimension level of Tournament. The result gives counts a 0 for every tournament. However
      it is working perfectly when the dimension level is Round (which is the immediate next level after fact).
      The Logical request generated (in case of Tournament level) :
       MatchId:[DAggr(Measure1.MATCHID by [ Matches$.TournamentId]  SB Tournament)] as c1 GB.
        There is no such column as TournamentId in Matches$ table. How does the BI server got this ?
       The execution plan  evaluate this:
         cast(NULL as  INTEGER )  as c1 GB [for database 0:0,1]
       Can someone please explain why is this happening, is it because of the snowflake schema, but I guess if BI server can handle a snowflake schema it should work the Aggregate
       properly in multiple levels of dimensions, or it is something I am doing wrong.
       Execution Environment:
         Windows XP ,  OBI 10g on OC4J.  Data source : MS Excel (ODBC 3.5)

    Hi,
    With reference to your question.
    Can any operator perform this task..I don't think any single operator will help you.
    I suggest using an intermediate (staging) table by using a PL SQL procedure with output port to store the values of account number provided the number of accounts are limited. Else use an array variable for account of an employee.
    In short no simple solution because of the bad source design else the pivot/unpivot operator would have helped you.

  • Essbase cubes with different levels of detail - OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 on LINUX

    Hi all,
    I have BSO and ASO cubes which contain broadly the same information, but with the ASO cube at much higher detail. For simplicity sake, they only have 1 dimension, and 1 fact. The dimension a date and is structured like:
    Gen2 = year
    Gen3 = year & quarter
    Gen4 = year & month
    Gen5 = year, month & day
    Only the ASO cube has Gen5. the BSO cube only has the information to Gen4 level.
    I've imported them both into the RPD and dragged the ASO cube across into the BMM. and then taken the fact column from the BSO cube and dropped it onto the BMM, selected its new source ( the BSO cube ) and set the
    Content tab and set the logical level as Gen4.
    I then dragged the key items from the BSO date hierachy onto the date dimension in the BMM.
    I purposely had a slightly different date hierachy and data content in the 2 cubes so I could tell where it was getting the data from.
    If I select the year only...it gets the value from the BSO, and if I drill down to quarter and month it also gets the dates from the BSO cube.
    If I select the data fact, it will switch to the ASO cube and retrieve the value from there.
    Same applies if I select just the year - data comes in from the ASO cube.
    So my question is this, how do I get it to select the data facts from the less detailed cube when the details is not required and only switch to the ASO cube when the extra detail is needed?
    Thanks in advance for any assistance

    Anyone have any thoughts on this?
    Data fact with 2 sources, where source 1 & 2 have differing levels of detail, it always seems to take the data from the more detailed source

  • Problems working with different types of aggregation in two facts table

    Hello every Body!! Greetings from Brazil..
    At fisrt I'd like to say that I've tried to find some thead with the same problem, but I've foud no answere. That is why I'm typing this new post.
    Here we go ...
    I've a Fact table with one metric and two degenerate dimensions..
    For exemple:
    Invoice_number
    Puschase_Date
    Purchase_Value$
    When I model it at Business Model Mapping, I used the Aggregation's type below:
    Invoice_number - None
    Puschase_Date - None
    Purchase_Value - Sum
    So far it works fine at Answeres area.. Since I use only values from this Fact..
    But... if I try to join values from two different Facts Table (both of them sharing the same Dimensions) and the Second Fact has an aggregated value, it does'nt work... I get 'null' as values (metrics) of the second Fact Table...
    I think that it is caused because I'm working whith different types of aggregation, but I don't know the solution.
    By the wat, the second Fact I've told has only one metric, aggregated whith 'SUM'.
    Is there a solution? Any hint?
    Tks.
    Vettore

    int x = (int)(7 + 3.0 / 4.0 * 2); //the variable will do the math bracket first. then the va type will still be an int because int was never changed.
    Following the standard order of operations, 3.0/4.0 will result in a double, then 2 will be converted to a double before being multiplied to the result, then 7 is converted to a double before being added to the result, and then the (int) cast will force a conversion
    back to an int.
    Console.WriteLine((1 + 1) / 2 * 3); // 1 + 1 will be done first then 1 / 2 then * by 3
    Correct.
    I THINK THATS ALL WRONG ^ =/ like the comments
    Why?

  • Report on hierarchy with different levels for key figures

    Within 1 BEx query report, is there a way to report on a hierarchy where one key figure is at level 6 and another key figure at level 5? Level 6 being the lowest leaf node. That is the key figure at the level 5 wouldn't have data at level 6 aggregated or summed up to level 5. Doesn't seem possible because how would the data be modeled in the IC but has this ever been done?

    This could be easily done at the query level. If you are using 7.x query designer drag the key fig you want at level 1 (top) first. Then drag the key figure you want at level 2 and drop on the level 1 key fig. Now drag and drop level 3 key fig on level 2 key fig. This way you can create a sort of hierarchy for key fig, but the lower level key figures would not be aggregated to the upper level key figures.
    If you use 3.x query designer, you have to use level up and level down options after right clicking on the key figure. Place all your key fig (all levels) in the columns. now right click on the level 2 key fig and choose level down option. right click on the level 3 key figure and choose level down twice.

  • DB Copy (MSSQL) between two SAP systems with different level and Components

    Hi,
    we have a SAP system release mysap 2004 SR1 and for "the upgrade project  to SAP ECC 6.0 " we installed a new mysap 2004 in a new hardware (sap03) where we have also solution manager running. The new installed Mysap 2004 SR1 is alos running fine in the new hardware.
    Now we would like to do DB copy from the old system (sap02) to the the new system sap03 and then we will do the upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0.
    After I compared the two systems I have following questions:
    1) there are 4 Software Components which are not in the new system (sap03). This are:
    PI
    FIN_BLERP
    BP_INSTRASS
    Is this necesary for the DB copy or we do not need this to be able to do the DB copy?
    2) The Software Components Level is not the same. Should we have the same level to do the DB Copy?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    HanseAtik

    Hi Juan, hi Clas,
    just to be clear and to not stuck on the the way:
    The systems are as follow:
    1) the source system:
                         - Windows Server 2003,
                         - MSSQL Server 2005 with 32 bit.
                         - Mysap 2004 SR1
    2) Target system:
                       - Windows Server 2003
                       - MSSQL Server 2005, with 64 bit.
                       - Mysap 2004 SR1 (with less Support package level and no PI, FIN_Basis, BP_BLERP and BP_INTASS coponents)
    I hope this will work. could you post the link the DB Copy guide we are talking about?
    By this way we will be sure that we are talking about the same DB Copy. Otherwise any mistake in this step will cost more work and time.
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards

  • Filling JButton with different texture?

    Hi All,
    This may be a silly question, but is there a way to change the filling of a jbutton besides changing the color or loading it with an image? What I'm trying to do is, have the filling-texture change when the button color changes. For example:
    Button 1 : Color red, filling-texture type 1
    Button 1 : Color green, filling-texture type 2
    Button 1 : Color yellow, filling-texture type 3
    ...etc...
    Thanks!

    try this, it is simple but it can give you some ideas.
    MyButton jbm = new MyButton(" My Button");
    jbm.setBounds(10,10,100,36);
    jbm.setBackground(Color.orange);
    getContentPane().add(jbm);
    MyButton jb1 = new MyButton(" My Button");
    jb1.setBounds(151,10,100,36);
    jb1.setBackground(Color.pink);
    getContentPane().add(jb1);
    public class MyButton extends JButton
    public MyButton(String s)
         super(s);
         setMargin(new Insets(0,0,0,0));
    public void paint(Graphics g)
         super.paint(g);
         if (getBackground() == Color.pink)
              g.setColor(Color.darkGray);
              g.drawRect(3,3,getWidth()-7,getHeight()-7);
              g.drawRect(5,5,getWidth()-11,getHeight()-11);
              g.drawRect(7,7,getWidth()-15,getHeight()-15);
         if (getBackground() == Color.orange)
              g.setColor(Color.darkGray);
              g.drawRect(3,3,getWidth()-7,getHeight()-7);
              g.drawRect(4,4,getWidth()-9,getHeight()-9);

  • Measuring signals with different levels using common AI in Fieldpoint

    Hi!,
    I am trying to configure a Fieldpoint system to measure the following (its for a DC motor test station):
    Motor Voltage: 0-240 VDC
    Motor Current: 0-50 ADC
    Generator Voltage and Current: same as for motor
    Options which come to my mind are:
    1) Convert the voltages into 0-10 VDC and use FP-AI-110
    and simultaneously convert currents into 4-20mA and use FP-AI-111.
    2) Convert both voltages and current into 4-20mA and use only FP-AI-111
    My questions:
    1) Which is a smarter config?
    2) Would there be any issues of isolation that I need to consider?
    Note:
    A) There are other measurements like thermocouple and counter and I will be using the signal specific modules for those.
    B
    ) It is important that total system hardware cost be kept to the minimum.
    Platform is Fieldpoint using FP-1601
    OS is Win200
    Coding is in NI-PDS-6.1
    Thanks and best regards,

    Hello Gurdas,
    You could use the FP-AI-110 to measure both your voltage and current signals. However, you will need to create an attenuation circuit so that you can measure your signal in the 0-10VDC range as you have described. You can also use a current shunt resistor to measure the current by running the current through this resistor and then measure the voltage across it. You will most likely need a resistor near 0.01Ohms that can handle up to 50A. (50^2*0.01)= 25W. That is a big resistor.
    It would still be best to convert both to voltages since the modules measure voltage. Even the FP-AI-111 uses current shunts and measures a voltage.
    Another thing to know about taking motor measurements is Flyback voltages generated from the coils. These v
    oltages can reach several thousand volts and could damage your hardware. Check to make sure that you motor or motor drive has circuitry to limit flyback voltages. Zener diodes are commonly used to limit flyback voltages.

  • Two Fact tables with Different set of Dimension Tables

    Here is my scenario:
    I got two fact tables: X and Y (actually, they are the same tables, but with different level of data)
    and four dimension tables: A, B, C, D
    X joins relationship to all dimensions (A, B, C, D).
    Y joins relationship to only A, B, C, but no D.
    When I select dimension A, B and C together with fact tables X and Y in BI Answer, result is displayed and compared.
    However, if I select dimension D together with fact tables X and Y, only data from fact table X is displayed. There is no result displayed for fact table Y. I know that this is because fact table Y does not join to dimension D.
    If the above relationship unchanged, how can I display both X and Y's result in BI Answer when dimension D is selected?

    Thanks for all your replies.
    Actually, I've tried the solutions you guys mentioned. Generally speaking, the result should be displayed. However, my scenario is a little bit tricky.
    table Y's figures are not the aggregation of table X for D dimension. Instead, table Y's figures include not only D dimension total, but also others (others do not mean A, B, C dimension). For example, table Y stores all food's figure, while table X stores only drink's figure. D dimension is only about drink's detail. In my scenario, other foods' figure is not provided.
    So, even if I set D dimension to all/total for table X, table X's result is still not the same as table Y.
    Indeed, table Y does not have a column key to join to D dimension's key. So, if I select D dimension and table Y's measures at the same time in BI Answer, result returns no data. Hence, I can't compare table X and table Y's results with selection of D dimension.
    Is there any solution to solve this problem?

  • Macro - multiply numbers at two different levels

    Hi Folks,
    I am trying to write a macro which takes KF at a detailed level and multiplies it with another key figure at a different level of aggregation. Any ideas in this direction will help.
    A - B
    KF 1 = 10 %
    A - C
    Kf 1 = 20%
    A
    KF 2 = 100
    I want to write  a macro that gives following result
    A - B
    KF3 = 10 ( 10% * 100)
    A - C
    KF3 = 20 ( 20% * 100)

    Hi,
    I had a similar requirement of running a macro at 5 level and use a data at 3 level as one of the inputs.
    what i did was i wrote a Z function module which called /sapapo/msdp_data_read and retrieved the value at 3 level.
    Thus i was able to extract a 3 level value and use it to run a macro at 5 level.
    Please let me know if this helps.

  • Wny does ACR 7.3 open a .JPG with different dimensions than PS 13.0.1 x64?

    I have a .jpg file that opens in Photoshop 13.0.1 x64 as an image with dimensions of 5588 x 4627 pixels. If I set Photoshop to open it in ACR 7.3 it opens with dimensions 4453 x 4418 with the image looking squished horizontally and cropped at the top.
    I captured the image on a Nikon D600. I developed the NEF with DxO Optics Pro 8.1.1 and output a TIFF. I opened the TIFF in Photoshop (without using ACR) and did my editing including  some transformation to create mirrored wrap for a canvas. There are versions saved as PSDs. I resized the image for output and used PS to create a JPG. That JPG causes the strange (to me) behavior when Photoshop tries to open the file.
    I used the same PSD to create multiple JPGs with differing levels of quality (varyiing from 9MB to 27MB). Photoshop exhibits the same behavior on all of them.
    If I process the JPG thruough ACR, the resultant image retains the bad dimensions and distortions.
    The Adobe "chat" preresentative said this was expected behavior in a 2+ hour chat. He/she said that they were able to replicate the different dimensions on their end with their images.
    Does anyone know if this is normal behavior? If so, why?
    Has anyone experienced something similar?
    Thanks,
    Joe
    I am running this on Win7 x64 Home Premium with 8 GB RAM. I also have LR 4.3 installed on the computer and previously used it to process the same NEF file.

    I sent the JPG to a service for a print on canvas. They reported that the image was not the proper size and shape when they opened it in Photoshop. Unfortunately I have not been able to get them to tell me what pixel size it was, just rough inches (!?!?!). So I started trying things in Photoshop and came up with this strange behavior that might explain the problem at the service.

  • Aggregate works different by filling with pc or manually activate

    Hello Expert,
    In one of the cube, which was updated by 2 delta and 1 full IP, an aggregate works different.
    The first time the aggregate was manually activated, query ran well with reading it.
    After a successfully pc ran, which contains 2 delta and 1 full IP, the query with same parameter caused a jump because of exceed the time limit.
    To check the aggregate, it was successfully updated by the new IP.
    After deactivate and re-activate the agg, the query works fine again.
    Do you know why this happen?
    Thanks

    Hello Ajeet,
    I checked the aggregate. It contains one master data will is in change run object list.
    However, this info object has not changed any thing since it was initialized.
    And the roll up for the aggregate is a successor of attribute change run.
    To make the things clear, the full upload to infocube was deleted daily by overlapping request before to fill it.
    I ran RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR which contains log:
    No Change Run active

    Hierarchies to be activated:

    What did this log stand for (I mean: Aggregates Will Be Adjusted by:Reconstruction) ? I have manually activated the aggregate today.
