Filling up the displayed forms

I am having problems with the forms. I try to print my answers into the form, but I can't. I have to print  the blank form and then to fill it up manually. What am I doing wrong?

If you're referring to an Adobe application you should say so, and include other information, such as the Platform you're working on, system specs, what you've tried to do to figure out your problem. Providing too much information is better than not providing enough.
Also, you may want to post in the forum dedicated to that application. Return to the link closer to the top of the page that says "Adobe Forums" and look for the forum that focuses on the application you're referring to.
This forum is specifically dedicated to commentary and questions about how these forums themselves work. Questions about applications ARE NOT answered here.
Thanks.

I have been creating forms in InDesign and pulling into Acrobat XI Pro to do form fields. My client would like to fill in the PDF form using Reader, save under a different name locally on their device, and redistribute. The problem I have is that, sometimes, they want to redistribute the form as Read Only. I know how to flatten the form on a mobile device, but uncertain how they can do that with a PC or Mac using Adobe Reader. I looked at FormsCentral thinking there might be a solution going that route, but don't believe there is. Any advice?

FormsCentral won't help with flattening a form. You could set up the form in Acrobat so that the fields are set to read-only, using JavaScript. Not quite the same as flattening but it's the best Reader can do.
Note that when Reader is used to e-sign a document, it gets flattened, but this won't be possible if you need to Reader-enable the form and under certain other conditions.

  • Open pdf says "please fill out the following form" when I attempt to apply redactions, I get an error message.  How do I "turn off" the form portion of the document?  I assume that is the problem since I have not had this issue with any of the other files

I am attempting to redact a large pdf file.  When I open the file, it has a bar across the top with the message "please fill out the following form".  I can mark redactions, but when I attempt to apply them I get a message saying, "In order to proceed Digital Signatures must be removed and the document must be fully authorized.  Do you want to make these changes and continue?"   I click "ok".  Then I get a message saying, "an internal error occurred."  How do I get around this problem?

You cannot redact a signed document. This is because one of the things signatures guarantee is access to the OLDER document (i.e. there will be an unredacted copy in there).
In general you cannot remove signatures, but sometimes you can. Look under the Signatures tab (right click on left vertical bar if there isn't one) to see if it is removable.

  • How do I create a fill-in-the-blank forms

How do I create a fill-in-the-blank forms in Pages 5

Pages does not do it like Word, best you can do is tab over a space and leave that space for the user to type into.
Perhaps putting a small label under to indicate what is required.
A fill in the blanks form made in Pages however really defeats the point.
Who out there has Pages, particularly whatever incompatible version you are using?
Pages has trouble opening Pages files thanks to Apple.
Use standard file formats either pdf (created in Pages, turned into a form in Acrobat Pro or their website) or Word .docx.

  • Opening a list item pdf attachment from the display form in a new window

I have a list setup in which attachments are enabled.
Users attach pdf's to list items.
When they go into the display form for a list item and click on a pdf attachment in the "Attachments" area at the bottom of the form, it opens in the same browser window.
I would like to amend this so it opens in a new window.  Has anyone found a fix for this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

I am using Adobe Reader X on a laptop with Windows Vista OS and Adobe Reader XI on an older laptop with Windows XP OS.  While filling out the same form on each computer, I have found that I can save info on the older laptop, but not on the newer one.  This is a big problem.  I must be able to save on the newer computer.  Do I need to buy a new computer with a more up-to-date OS?  Please help.

Adobe Reader X can only save reader-enabled forms. Adobe Reader XI can save all forms.

  • XI Pro, fill in the blank form

Using XI Pro, I know the "fill in the blank" form can be emailed and completed.  Can the form be embeded on our website and still maintain the "fill in" ability?

Sort of. It depends whether the visitor uses Adobe technology to view your site. Increasingly people use browsers like Chrome or FireFox, the latest Mac Safari which ignore Adobe technology in favour of their own. No problem except that these typically don't do forms, or worse seem to do forms but leave things broken.
It's hard to recommend PDF forms for a general web audience.

  • Created a 20 page fill-in the blank form with livecycle 8.0 and now page 20 needs updated.

Created a pdf with acrobat 8.0 and used livecycle 8.0 to create a fill in the form document.  Now that I am at page 20, the lines i put in for a description for people who still use a typewriter should have been taken out for this document.  Is there any way to replace this page with a revised pdf page.  When I open the document in aapro and select document the insert page is not highlighted.  I know I have deleted and inserted pages before, but not one that went into livecycle.  Can it be done or do I have to start all over again?

Since this PDF is based on a LiveCycle Designer template individual pages cannot be removed.  Can you not just go back into Designer and remove the page you don't want anymore and add in a new one?

  • Horrible Glitches Fill Up the Display at Startup

I just bought this iMac a month ago and everything is running perfectly except sometimes there is a terrible glitch filling up the screen when I start the computer (it is not happening everytime but from my experience 1 out of 10 times) or sometimes when I click an app like Finder, the entire screen other than Finder window will be glitched. It is possible to clear out the gliches by moving the window around like an erase brush. It is not hurting my system or display permanently, but it is very annoying and given this is a brand new iMac, it gives me chills every single time.
I am not sure if this is a software or hardware problem, or whether this is a common Mac issue and if I should seek for repair service or replacement of the unit.
I have a sample of the glitch saved in a screenshot, it can be found here: http://7wondersnow.googlepages.com/Picture8copy.jpg
Please let me know if anyone has encountered a similar problem and if there is any possible solution to this issue.

Make sure you have no more than 12 files or icons or anything else on your desktop. The display seems to be able to cope with this many and the problem disappears. Apple know about it. There are many threads about it here as well.

  • How can I Fill up the applet form from VB code?

    Hi,
I urgently required help in this issue.
Please check the below URL :
    http://java.sun.com/applets/jdk/1.4/demo/applets/ArcTest/example1.html
this is the sample i found on the java example page.
What I want to do is?
I want to opened that page in IE from VB. I did it by below code.
    Public WithEvents IE As SHDocVw.InternetExplorer
    Public WithEvents HtmDoc As HTMLDocument
    Private Sub CreateIE()
    Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
    IE.Visible = 1
    End Sub
Private Sub IE_DocumentComplete(ByVal pDisp As Object, URL As Variant)
    Set HtmDoc = IE.document
    End Sub
    Private Sub Navigate(URL)
    IE.Navigate URL
    End Sub
    Private Sub Command1_Click()
    CreateIE
    Navigate "http://java.sun.com/applets/jdk/1.4/demo/applets/ArcTest/example1.html"
    Call SetDocument
    End Sub
    Private Sub SetDocument()
    Set HtmDoc = IE.document
    For i = 0 To HtmDoc.getElementsByTagName("a").length
    List1.AddItem HtmDoc.All(i)
    Next i
    End Sub
I just want to set the value of that two text box and then I want to click on that button.
Is there any way that i can do it by getting the java applet content or by some another way?

I'm certain that VB forums exist. I'm fairly certain that Microsoft would support them, so that's where I would look.
But I would bet a fair amount of money that they'll tell you "That's a Java problem, ask on a Java forum". Let me just say that you can interface with an applet via Javascript (I haven't done it myself but you could look it up). Then your problem becomes how to execute Javascript from your VB code. That's probably askable on the VB forum.

  • Pop up message "Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form..."

I'm using InDesign CS2 to add some functionality to a pdf. Mostly buttons that I've used to create links to pages inside the document.
When I open the exported pdf I get the unwanted message above, with a little pink icon in upper left hand corner of Acrobat 9.
Any way to get rid of this?
When I save the document with the functionality turned off, it's not there. So obviously there is something amiss when the functionality is added back in. But I really have no idea.

If you're only adding buttons with links, there is no reason to add any of the extra functionality for Reader users.
Just create the links and make sure that you choose to include links when exporting from ID.

    Hi,
This error was due to Not supported platforms of ADS (Adobe Document services)
It was not supported on itanium64 bit processors.
Please check where the ADS is supported in service.sap.com/pam
You can use the ADS in the Non-Supported Server by linking it to Supported Platform Server using the SM59 link. This will make the ADS files to work.
Please refer the ADS Config Doc for details.
Hope you also solve this problem.
