Film Guide??? Adobe or mac?

With all the applications that are for mac it almost seems as if there is nothing that we don't have! I don't have very much knowledge of all the applications from adobe so you can imagine my confusion when I couldn't truly edit my videos in imovie and in adobe premiere pro CS3 it seems hard just to recognize anything there with other CS3 programs! To put it short I need help with my video editing! How can I slow it down or speed it up? That is the basics I would like to know! From there I may find my way! So is it possible to do so in imovie? Adobe premiere? Where can I find this illusive application that should be found in all programs? Or am I just missing the most important thing in the most obvious of place?

You might want to ask this in the iMovie or the Final Cut forums:

  • How to install adobe in mac book pro

i need help installing adobe on mac book pro

Adobe is a company. They make lots of software products. Which one(s) did you want to install? Adobe Reader? Adobe Acrobat? Adobe Flash Player? Adobe Creative Suite?
The general outline is to go to the Adob website, pay for the software if it is pay software, download the software, and run the installer.

It would also help to know what version of the Mac OS you are running on your MacBook. You can find this information by going to the Apple menu and selecting About this Mac. Under the big OS X it will say version 10.x.x.

  • Adobe Reader Mac 9 can't save filled-in forms?

It appears that Adobe Reader Mac version 9.0.0 can no longer save filled-in forms. Using Reader Mac 8, I could save my last year's IRS Form 1040 PDF with all the fields filled in. Now, when I open the 2007 IRS 1040 PDF downloaded from their website today, I get a message:
"This document enables Reader capabilities that are no longer enabled in this Reader version."
I get the same message when I open my 1040 PDF that I saved with fields filled in earlier this year with Reader Mac 8. That PDF still contains my filled-in values, but I can't save any changes.
Has Adobe disabled saving filled-in forms in Reader Mac 9? If so, was it by accident or on purpose? If on purpose, why?

  • Canoscan 35mm film guide

I found a user on a forum somewhere who needed a 35mm negative film guide for his Canoscan 9000F.  I'm in the same boat but the after marcket one is for Lab and manufacturing use and as such are about $100.00.
One respondent said they don't use the film guides any more because Viuscan doesn't require them.
I have a demo version of Viuscan which looks like the full up version except its useless because you can't save the scans as it states it imprints a water mark on the scan output.  Plus,  the only way I can see how to scan the film is to place the strip on the glass, shut the scanner lid, choose what looks like the Viuscan options for scanning film using the advanced options (only in the full up version) settings and hit "Preview" or "Scan".  In all cases I could try, Viewscan simply makes a picture of the strip of film and thats it.  No seperating of one image on the strip  from the next or anything.
I would rather spend the money on Viuscan then the film guide as long as the software does what I need to do.
    Any help?

I have both.  My problem was I did not have the 35mm film guide and had heard you didn't need it if you use Viuscan.  After experimenting with both software, It turns out you can scan with both without the film guide.  The problem is you have to align the film manually which requires a bit of trial and error.
The Viuscan software lets you preview before you scan enabling you to see alignment errors so you can reposition the film and preview again.
In either case it is much easier to use the film guide which I was able to optain.  So the problem resolved itself.
The Viuscan software has more settimgs bot it doesn't seem to automaticlly set other required options when you adjust one.  So you have to play around with it more to get things right .  The user guide and other documentation doesn't help much and the support is via email and is a bit shoudy.  Most of the other options I haven't needed so far.
The Canon software works fine but I find it a bit anoiying that you cant save the raw file as jpeg without changing something else in the image too.  Plus the dust correction, which I thought was done automatically in the hardware,  doesn't seem to do anything., at least for the 35mm film.  And I can't find anywhere in the software that allows you to turn it on. I need this.
    Thanks for your response.

  • Adobe Muse, mac

  • When I edited a PDF in Adobe Pro (MAC) all of my text changes got jumbled up and un-readable.

When I edited a PDF in Adobe Pro (MAC) all of my text changes got jumbled up and unreadable.  I lost hours of work.
The first strange thing that I noticed was that some of the letters were showing up twice so I deleted extra letters and re-saved my work as I went along.
When I closed the document and opened it up again, ALL of the text was either missing, jumbled, or turned to symbols.
My software is updated.  My version is 11.0.10.  I work on a MAC computer.
Can anyone help me please?  I'm on a deadline and this has caused some real stress.
    Thank you.

As PDF is not a word processing file format any word processing like "editing" is not support by PDF (the file format - technology - See ISO 32000-1:2008).
Fortunately Acrobat provides robust touchup capability but "touchup" is far from word processor "editing".

  • Need Adobe Premiere Mac post from summer 2000

    Hi,
I know this must sound crazy, but I need to find a needle in a haystack -- in the summer of 2000 I posted on the Adobe Premiere Mac forums - it was a method of remapping the keyboard in Premiere 5.1c.  I'm pretty sure my screen name was "Graham Jones" -- I had over 600 posts.  It's possible it was "GrahamAJones" but I don't think so.
Does anyone know how I can retrieve a copy of that post and/or thread?  I'm hoping someone saved the archive.
If it helps in searching, it talked about modifying the "keyboard.txt" file.
It's a long story, but I need evidence of that post for my green card application, and I am stumped without it.
    Thanks,
    Graham Jones.

slight chance, I suppose, I don't know how far back their archives go:

  • Adobe for Mac

Yes, but of course different versions of products support different versions of OSX. You need to be a lot more specific. What product do you plan on using? What version of OSX?

  • If you format in Guid for Intel Macs, Apple partition for PPC Macs for Boot drives, then why do my PPC Hard drives Boot in my 2007 Mac Pro, what gives?

I recently purchased a 2007 Mac Pro for a song, swapped the CPU's for octo chipsets and proceeded to wait for new Hdd's in the mail. I was told the Hard drives in my old G5 would not be bootable unless they're in Guid format. Disc Utility confirmed to use the specific maps as well and yet all of my 2006 PPC Power Mac G5 Hard drives boot in my MP without a hitch, although a few none universal apps do not work. So what am I missing, does it really matter which Apple partion map to choose from or is this a fluke?...

all of my 2006 PPC Power Mac G5 Hard drives boot in my MP without a hitch
Yes, and what version of Mac OS  are they booting?
    >> They will boot the OS that is on them, but not a later one.

  • Fill in form created in Adobe 8 (Mac) and then trying to send out from PC with adobe 9 pro

I created a form using adobe acrobrat 8 pro on a mac (everything works and we have used in the past).  I need to send it out from a PC which has adobe acrobat pro 9.  I can open the form, view it and use the distribute feature (via email option).  Then I send it out and when we test the completed form coming back to the email on the PC (using a submit button option), it opens the PDF file, you can view the filled in data on the PDF however the dialog box that normally opens asking if you want to download or import the data does not appear, not even the form tracker dialog box appears - nothing happens.  You can't seem to do anything with the data from the form.  You can only view it. We need to be able to collect it in one file, and then export to a CSV.
Is there some compability issue between forms created between two platforms, and two different versions?
Am I missing a step on a PC.  I am not very familiar with a PC's and it doesn't seem to be as drag and drop oriented as a mac.
Do  I need to rebuild the form on the PC using adobe acrobat pro 9?

Please post this in the Acrobat support area, you'll get a better answer!

  • Adobe abandons Mac users with PS Elements 4?

Adobe announced a new version of Photoshop Elements (4.0), but it won't be available for Mac users.
What other programs do people here use with iPhoto to edit their photos?

    Barbara,
Yes, it's me. I posted this before that information came out.
It still seems very odd, though. Why the Big Secret? Will it work with some unannounced product? That's my best guess at the moment.
Well I probably won't upgrade in any case--just not enough difference from PSE 3.0.
Now this product sounds interesting (you'll need to install Macromedia's Flash player 8.0 to view the video demo), depending on price of course:
