Film not playing smoothly on quicktime!

Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me as i am out of ideas of how to solve my problem!
I have exported a film it is 2 mins long with the first min being a slide show of photos with tilts and pans. When i first exported it the first minute when played on quicktime were jumping. Not at the same point but at random times. I downsized the photos on photoshop and this helped it but they still are not perfect. The rest of the film was playing fine. I then decided it might help if i export the photos as a separate film and then reimport it. Again this helped but they are still not playing perfectly on quicktime for some reason. Any ideas for what i could do? I have put the res down too much already so i cant down size them anymore.
Now when i play the video on quicktime the last half of the film is jumping in the same way as the photos were. I have tried it on VLC player and it works fine but it has to be played on quicktime for a client so i really need this to work on quicktime. I have tried exporting it as many different formats and reducing the bit rate but still the same thing is happening.
I really need some sort of clue to what is going on and how to solve this problem as i am out of knowledge and ideas!
the info on the  latest export of the film:
QuickTime movie
Size: 153 MB on disk (152,965,033 bytes)
1920 × 1080
H.264, AAC, Timecode
Audio channels: 2
total bit rate: 8,492
Thank you!!!

I am not sure I understand everything you asked me but let me try my best to answer your questions.
Basically I was attempting to point out that different encoding strategies and software applications could affect your workflow in different ways. For instance, your used the term "slideshow" which could either be the sequential display of a single JPEG fr
I am using premiere pro to create the slideshow. I import the jpeg then i add motion via the effects tab by key framing. These jpegs go into the same sequence settings as i listed above and are exported as a .MOV in the H264 Codec bit rate is 8,223 and 25 FPS .
Yeah when I exported the slide show as a film and then reimported it  into the sequence it was a .MOV with the above properties.
I used quick time 10 to play the film. I also have version 7 but i want it to play on the 10 as this is the version my client has.
That is a good idea but i still have the same problem with both films played separately. It is difficult to determine what is causing it as it is unpredictable where it jumps and for how long for.
ame for a specific period on a single track, the interspersed display of such JPEG photos on two different tracks on an alternating basis with or without a 'tweening track to apply transitions between the display of alternating track photos, or the display of such photos in a single track which has been encoded as "video" content containing multiple frames per unit of time.
My sequence settings are as follows:
Editing mode: DSLR, 25FPS, 1080X 1920, Codec: MPEG I FRAME.
The software I am editing on is Premiere Pro CS6.
The photos are JPEGS and the films are .MOV, 1080 x1920 at 25 FPS.
Not a Premier user, so your settings (DSLR and MPEG I FRAME) are somewhat confusing to me.
The JPEGS started out as roughly 3,000 pixels large and 300 dpi. This made the video jump a lot. So i took them into photoshop and reduced the pixel dimensions to the closest possible i could to the 1920x 1080 format my film is to be in. I cant remember what each indiviual JPEG was as they were all different but roughly speaking I set them to around 1500 - 2000 pixels and 72 dpi. This certainly helped the jumping but didn't stop it all together.
The slide show has no text. It is old black and white photographs from  the 1920's . I should also say that when i reduced the distance that the pans and tilts has to travel this helped the jumping. it seems to be where there is movment over the still images the film jumps in quicktime.

Thanks for the clarifications.
If you are changing both dimensions and the resolution reference in Photoshop, then it sounds like you are doing everything correctly here. However, am not sure about your use of the term "key framing." Are you referring to the use of "key" frames to initiate/modify motion effects or the use of "key frames" to insert additional I-frames to improve the rendering of motion effects? The use of an excessive number of I-frames can change the allocation of data between intra- and inter-frames if the target data rate is left unchanged—sort of a "rob Peter to pay Paul" situation. E.g., if too much data is "borrowed" from the "difference" frames, then the motion transitions may cause playback to become jerky in the same way that "dropped frames" during playback would. In this case, you may wish to try an increase in the target data rate for the file to see if it provides a smoother rendering during photo "slideshow" playback. (Am assuming here that your MPEG-4 AVC exports are a minimum Main Profile @ Level 3.1 allowing data rates up to 14 Mbps in which case I would likely try a target setting of about 10 Mbps for testing.)
That is a good idea but i still have the same problem with both films played separately. It is difficult to determine what is causing it as it is unpredictable where it jumps and for how long for.
Suggestion was to test whether the problem was caused by sourced content encoding or the process of "merging" the different types of content. Recommend you reprocess the photos in Photoshop at 72 dpi reference (if not already doing so) to appropriate resolutions and then reprocess the results in Premier to see what happens.
You mentioned VFR- is there a setting i should be aware of for this- can you explain this to me in a bit more depth what is that? I thought the FR is set to 25 and it sticks to 25 unless i select another frame rate?
you mentioned at the end of your reply that it could be data rates or frame rate issues- what would you suggest to solve this problem?
Not familiar with settings available in Premier. Was referring to the use of VFR strategy to eliminate duplicate frames. I.e., if you were exporting photos as stationary "slideshows" rather than using motion effects like Ken Burns, then the elimination of duplicate frames might reduce the data rate requirements associated with "slideshow" exports in "video" compression formats. QT is programmed to skip frames if it is unable to keep up with data throughput—which is most frequently the primary source of jerky playback.

Video portion of Nightwish DVD not playing correctly on Quicktime.  It is not a smooth playback. A little jerky. Is there an easy slution to the problem?

I worded my question incorrectly. It isn't a DVD I'm having the problem with, it' s a Nightwish concert download form iTunes I am having the video portion of the video that plays not smoothy. Like it is moothing it short little segments, not a steady flow!

  • Music not playing smoothly in iTunes

I recently updated my iTunes to the latest version and ever since then my music has been jerking and not playing smoothly. I've checked my computer's performance while iTunes and other applications have been open and all seems normal. I've run the setup file again and chosen "Repair", but nothing has changed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    This version of iTunes 12.1:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
seems to address the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer).  The "for older video cards" does not seem to fully define the scope of systems for which this alternative works better.

  • Keynote 6.0 Video not playing (export to Quicktime)

I have a presentation with a few embeded videos.  No matter what I do, they videos will not play when exporting the presentation to Quicktime.  The same presentation in Keynote '09, export to Quicktime works without issue.  Has anyone had similar issues?

Here's what I found ... I had to install Quicktime 7 and use iwork 09' (using them in mavericks) ... Using those two and opening projects in those two, works the way it should be.
There's an issue with the NEW Quicktime ... Even if you open and older .mov, it still won't let you control your keynote prsentation.
If you want to control your keynote presentation ( like the way it was), then search Quicktime 7 and use iwork 09'.
Here's what I don't understand ... Being able to convert any keynote presentation to a .mov is a major deal for videos. When they release the new stuff, doesn't anybody actually look at it first? ... Ya' know, to see if it actually works before releasing it? I get that a few things can slip by, but c'mon, major funtions ???
ALSO ........ When exporting the new keynote ( version 6). You can't export to a .mov ... It says quicktime, but it saves to a mv4.
I can see adding value, but stop taking away value !!!!!!!!!

  • HD clips not playing smoothly in viewer

    Hi all,
I'm having some issues where all the HD clips I captured (using a blackmagic DeckLink HD card) are playing a little blurry, and won't let me play at higher than 1x speed without the audio getting choppy.
The clips play very smoothly in QuickTime player, even at higher than 2x speeds so I feel like it must be a problem with FCP's configuration. Also, my colleague is editing the same clips on a similar but older machine (with less RAM, VRAM and a slower processor) and it works fine. The only difference I can see is he has the blackmagic card on his computer and i don't, but if that was the problem I don't know why it would play so well in QT player.
    Please help!

On both machines the clips are being stored on internal ATA drives. I thought it was drive speed at first as well... I originally had the clips on a FW800 drive and transferred them to the external hoping it would help, since my colleague's clips were on his internal and were playing fine.
Unfortunately there's been no improvement. I would also expect it to play poorly in QT player as well as FCP if it was just drive speed.

  • Certain .AVI files will not play audio using QuickTime 7.5

I have recently updated my QuickTime to QuickTime Pro 7.5. I attempted to play videos in my library and noticed that certain videos will not play the audio, but video is fine. I did not have problems with playing the videos with audio before the update.
I tried to do some research and many have suggested to install PERIAN 1.1. I have done this, but still no result. I have deleted a lot of important videos, because I assumed that they are no longer usable. I decided to keep most of them and figure out a solution. No luck so far.
Please help! Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I'm not really sure what to look for in QT's Movie Inspector, but here's what it says:
Format: Apple OpenDML JPEG, 320 x 240, Millions
    FPS: 14.99
    Playing FPS: (Available while playing.)
    Data Size: 11.96 MB
    Data Rate: 2112.38 kbits/s
    Current Time: 0:00:00:13.94
    Duration: 0:00:00:47.50
    Normal Size: 320 x 240 pixels
    Current Size: 320 x 240 pixels (Actual)
If Pro update were not suited for Intel Mac's, should I uninstall the update? If so, how do I do this? Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks again for the reply!

  • Converted C100 files not playing smoothly

My C100 files are jumpy and many times pixelate in Prelude. They play fine in Quicktime. Is there some way to change the default player in Prelude. When I choose this option In preferences, it only allows for Adobe Player. OR does anyone know of the best settings for converting C100 files?

Thanks for posting this question. Firstly I want to confirm with you, does 'C100' refer to Canon EOS C100? Does this issue happen when you connect your camero directly with computer? What is your computer OS (Macintosh or Windows)? Do you use Prelude CC version? Thanks.

  • BMW Short Films not playing on updated QT

I was wondering if anyone knows of a plug-in/codec that will allow the BMW short films to be played on the current version of QT. They used to play before I upgraded to QT 7.
    14" 1.42GHZ iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

In the QuickTime Player, look at the Quicktime Preferences, on the Advanced tab.
Make sure that the checkbox for "[ X ] Enable Flash" is checked. This allows QuickTime to play Flash tracks in QuickTime movies, which allows the controllers to play in the BMW films. For some strange reason, in QT-7, this is disabled by default. Quit QuickTime Player and relaunch the movie.
While you're at it, go to the MIME settings described elsewhere in this thread and disable QuickTime playback of Flash media. This prohibits QuickTime from trying to play Flash video, and allows Flash animations to play in the Flash player. The checkbox affects only QuickTime's ability to handle flash tracks in QuickTime movies, and that should be enabled. The MIME setting controls whether QuickTime should play Flash outside of a QuickTime movie, and that should be disabled because QuickTime does not support modern Flash.

  • Why does my Outputed Rendered Movie not play smoothly?(w/ After Effects CS3)

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo with 3 gigs of RAM so my exported movie(HD) should playback with no problem, but this is not the case.  Everytime after I render and export my finished project(with After Effects CS3), when I then open it up to play it in Windows Media/Quicktime etc. the movie is not smooth and looks like it's still in the process of rendering. I can't figure this out. If anyone could answer this question I would really appreciate it.  Thanks alot

  • HD Flash Video does not play smoothly on brand new Mac Mini

I just bought a new Apple Mac Mini (2.5GHz model with discrete 256Mb AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics card, OS X 10.7.3). One thing I bought it for was watching HD video on the BBC iPlayer site here in the UK, but I found that it won't play it smoothly. It drops frames, particularly noticable as the camera pans. I'm using Safari and the current 11.1 Flash Player, but I've tried the latest release candidate too (11,2,202,221). The videos are 720p 50Hz, H.264 encoded, 3.2 Mbps, and use 80% - 100% CPU, so it seems to me that I don't have hardware acceleration. Enabling or disabling hardware accleration doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'd like to test it with other HD H.264 Flash videos, but I can't find any. Can anyone point me to some?

Not all video will have full hardware acceleration (stage video) enabled.  Can you try the following link?
    http://youtu.be/SHZFsJKlsuA?hd=1
I just gave this a try with Chrome on my Macbook Pro (15", mid 2010) and Flash used between 8% - 25% cpu, the average being somewhere below 15%.
