Filmstrip Spry Widget - problem positioning images

Hi - fairly new at this all, so possibly I am missing something obvious, I am able to play with the position of the slideshow and the filmstrip but can't seem to change position of the images themselves. Currently they are flush to the top, overlapping the slideshow border & I am looking to centre them.
I also am having some issues on another site I have set up with same widget where the images are not loading until I click om the thumbnail, & then they are not 100% opaque. Odd indeed... help anyone please?!

The problem is with the Spry.Widget.ImageSlideShow.PanAndZoomPlugin
If you leave that out, then all is well
A dirty fix is to add the following to the HEAD section of your document
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />

  • Spry dataset problem. Image dimensions with css

    Hey guys.
    I'm new to spry, and not an experienced web designer with beginner knowledge in programming.
    I am using a spry data set to make a blog kind of interface. I'm using a master/detail layout from the Dreamweaver presets. I am using html, not xhtml and dreamweaver cs4.
    I want to change the dimensions of the images in the detail container. I would like to use the max-width command. I have tried using an id tag on the image detail column and using the width command on it with little luck.
    How can I do this. Using css is a must, because I'll be using InContext Editing so other users can upload images and posts. So they won't have to worry about the dimensions.
    Thanks alot.
    Helgi

    I forgot to mention one other problem
    The layout that I sketched up is the one I am going for. So a tip on how to get the text and the headings to flow around the image like shown in the picture would be greatly appreciated. Is it recommended to use tables inside div tags or spry for that matter?
    Thanks a million.

  • Spry Widget SlideShow Basic (IE8 not showing all images)

    Hi everyone:
    I've read through the past posts, trying to find the solution so I wouldn't have to bother everyone if the solution to my problem was already here.  I couldn't find it, although I did find similar posts about this problem but no out and out solution.
    My problem:
    I have added the Spry Image Slideshow-Basic into an .html page.  The widget works well in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE7!!  It does not work properly in IE8 as IE8 skips every second images...the even numbers.  It does not work on my local computer and it also doesn't work on the server.  I have uploaded all the files to the server and it still doesn't work properly.
    I cannot seem to find the solution and I am reaching out to the great Adobe supporters for help.
    You can see the test web page here:
    http://www.fernweb.com/test/
    There are six images in this group but it only shows numbers 1, 3 and 5.
    Could someone please have a look and give me direction as to where the problem is?
    Thanks so much everyone.

  • Spry widget menu bar as a library item - problems

    I created a spry vertical menu bar and made it a library item.  The original works great, however when I insert the library item into its own div tag on another page, the submenus will not pop out, either in DW or the browser view. The div tag is the correct size and I made the z index high enough. Here is the code of the page that works properly:

    I understand about having the script and  link element that connect my page to the dependent files in the SpryAssets folder in the header and the JavaScript function cal at the bottom on each page. I don't know what else to do - HELP!

    Welcome to the Dreamweaver world!
    Well, having your index.html page at the top/root level is important, as that is the default page by which people will enter your site.
    Having other pages in folders is fine...I do it all the time in order to keep departments or categories of information sorted.
    One characteristic of having pages in folders is that the hierarchy of files in folders (perforce) puts them at different depths in the site.
    This is not inherently a bad thing! Just one to remain aware of. When you look at your site files in the Files Panel, you can see a graphical representation of those different levels.
    But the nature of a library item is that it is identical in all its instances, which is what makes it useful...change it in the library, and it changes site-wide. The down-side of that identity is that when your files are at different depths in the hierarchy, their links back to, say, home (or any other same file) will change depending on the depth. You can see this if you make a link on a page, then drag the page (in the Files Panel) to a different depth...say, into a folder when it started at root level, or vice versa. Check the link, and you will see that it automatically adapted to the new path.
    Library items do not do that; they do not change, so some of your links will be 'wrong' when you refer to pages that have different paths than the ones originally set up in the library item... because of the change in hierarchy.
    All this is, of course, reliant on your creation of the site in the first place, as defining the root folder's location on your computer gives Dreamweaver a starting point for handling (juggling?) all the location-information for your site's files.

  • I'm having problems with the Spry Widgets, Help!

    I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 and Have installed it twice, to no avail.  When I try to insert any of the spry widgets, I get the HTML code for the widget but none of the javascript or css code and I cannot figure out why.  Also, The Spryassets folder never get created.  Is there anyone that help me figure out what I might be doing wrong.  If all you got is "Spry is no good, use Javascript", then don't bother responding.  All other useful suggestions are greatly appreaciated,

  • Spry Sliding Panel Widget problem

    I have tried to use the Spry Widget Sliding Panel code from
    the Adobe tutorial and I keep getting an error message. The message
    is that "Spry" is undefined in line 26. Please help! I have been
    trying to figure this out for 2 days. Is there any code I have to
    change in the .css file or in the .js file that comes with the Spry
    Widget Sliding Panel download.
    I am just getting familiar with the on-line community and I
    have posted this to two other fora -- so please forgive the
    repetition. I am also new to Spry and am eager to learn how to use
    it. I hope it is not too advanced for my level.
    Attached, please find the code.

    /* ~~ These are the columns for the layout. ~~
    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

    I got preview in any browser OK, like I wanted but clicking on tabs not working and they not switching content per each tab. I maked tabindexes: 0, 10, 20,30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and nothing works.
    Where is problem?

    But the tabs do work and the content does show!
    Clicking the first two tabs causes the content to fly over to the right, outside of the content panel, exactly as the style rules tell it to.
    Clicking the other 7 tabs causes the content to show aligned to the left within the content panel, again as per the style rules.
    The total height of the tabs is 882 px including the bottom margins.
    The height of the content panels varies with the content, in case of the first two tabs there is no content contained within the content panel thus the height is zero; of the remaining content panels the height is about 1.5x the height of one line.
    In other words there are no surprises except for the fact that it would have been better not to have used the SpryTabbedPanels widget for this.
    Of course I am supposing that you have changed the personality of the TabbedPanel widget on purpose.
    If this is not the case then a good start will be
    to get rid of the modified SpryTabbedPanels.css and re-instate the original.
    to get rid of the all of the apDiv's including those inside the content panel.
    to reduce the overall height of the tabs to a manageable height by reducing the height of the images.

    Assuming these are the images you're trying to display:
    .TabbedPanelsTabHover {
              background-image: url(../../SUPEROLDU/images/menubaractive.png);
              background-repeat: repeat-x;
              color: #FFF;

              background-repeat: repeat-x;
              color: #FFF;
              height: 30px;
              width: 116px;
    You have 2 root paths in your URL code. I think this is how your file structure looks like on your local computer. However, on a remote server, ../ by itself means you're pointing to the root folder of your website. Your URL linkage should be corrected based on the relativity and your background will work without a problem.

  • Can someone help with insertion of Flash actionscript 3.0 swf into Dreamweaver spry widget panel?

    Working on a thesis project due soon... Created flash actionscript 3.0  swf for home page, text plus image, previews beautifully in Flash  Publish, stored in my root folder, previews great when I open it in the  root folder, dragged and dropped it into my dreamweaver code page,  within a spry widget framework, size is perfect. and upon view in design  or browsers or browser lab, I just get a nice empty white box.  In  design view, I see the F symbol and when I click play in properties, I  get a message that says "Unable to find the plug in that handles this  media type.  Dreamweaver looks in both the "config/Plugins folder and  the plug in folder for each o your installed browsers".  I have Flash  Professional CS 5.  Reinstalled it just in case that was the issue with  the plug in and didn't resolve the problem.  Dreamweaver version is  CS5.  Using a template with spry widget panels. Before I inserted the  swf, the preview in browsers and browser lab was fine on the spry widget  and background.  PC is windows, 32 bit, with ms office suite 2010  upgrade on it.  Appreciate any advice.

    my first trace on the hz position and vt position outputs but the trace for "scroll positions" and "new scroll positions" is not outputting.
    i recieve this output when i click the 'next' and 'back' buttons within the menu9.SWF.
    [Event type="iwannaresetscrolling" bubbles=true cancelable=false eventPhase=2]
    does this seem right?
    import fl.events.ScrollEvent;
    aSp.setSize(600, 350);
    function scrollListener(event:ScrollEvent):void {
    trace("horizontalScPosition: " + aSp.horizontalScrollPosition +
           ", verticalScrollPosition = " + aSp.verticalScrollPosition);
    aSp.addEventListener(ScrollEvent.SCROLL, scrollListener);
    function completeListener(event:Event):void {
    trace(event.target.source + " has completed loading.");
    // Add listener.
    aSp.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeListener);
    aSp.addEventListener("main swf", scrollResetListener);
    function scrollResetListener(event:Event):void {
         trace("Scroll positions", aSp.horizontalScrollPosition,aSp.verticalScrollPosition)
         aSp.horizontalScrollPosition = aSp.verticalScrollPosition = 0;
         trace("New scroll positions", aSp.horizontalScrollPosition,aSp.verticalScrollPosition)
    aSp.source = "menu9.swf";

  • Spry Widget Issues - Deactivating after a while

    Hi there,
    I'm using Spry Widgets in DW CS3 and have been experiencing
    the following strange issue.
    When I insert a widget everything functions fine, the widget
    is outline in blue, the little blue title appears when I roll over
    it and the eye appears (for the Collapsible or the Accordion for
    example) and allows me to close or open it with DW.
    All in all, everything works sweet... I can edit it fine in
    the Properties box etc.
    And then after a while the widget just stops working. What I
    mean is that there is no blue outline when rolling over it, there
    is no Properties panel, there is no "eye", but the object is still
    there, just not functioning.
    I have obviously gone over the code as best I can. I've
    created a new page within the same site and inserteda widget and
    compared the code from one page to another and cannot find anything
    off kilter.
    Note that the CSS still woks fine, it just seems to lose its
    Javascript capabilites (...)
    This has happened with several different widgets in different
    sites on different machines...
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Here is a screenshot of a site I'm building atm. Please bear
    in mind that I am not a coder and am building exclusively using
    Design Mode.

    >
    -When I first inserted the Tabbed Panels widget, it
    functioned fine...
    -Now, something has happened and the widget is not editable
    (other than going into the code) and the Panels are just displayed
    one below the other.
    -The widget functions normally when the page is previewed in
    a browser, but I have lost my Design Mode editing capabilites.
    -Now if I were to enter a new widget, it would start off
    straight away in "non-editable" mode
    -This has happened every time I have tried to use widgets.
    Starts off fine and then loses editibility and/or functionality.
    It's obviously something that I'm doing that is "breaking"
    the widget, but any help would greatly appreciated.

  • Twitter TL widgets problems

    Hi,
    After working around a lot with this subject, I'm still pretty puzzled with Embedding Twitter TimeLine Widget into a DPS article.
    With current version of the widget, Twitter forces you to specify wich domain(s) are going to use the widget, then generates the HTML-JS code for it. As long as I have seen and read in this forum, local embedding is no longer possible, I made my way through generate an HTML document with the embed code into it, upload to the server which domain is allowed to display the widget, and got to the point where I can see the online web page containing the widget with no problems.
    Then, if I use that URL in the Web Content in Folio Overlays, when it comes to Preview the Folio in the iPad, an error message pops up saying something about the Assets not found for the Overlay. If I try to use the same Web Content frame with any other URL works perfectly, only with that URL containing the HTML document with Twitter provided code embedded into it.
    I am aware about this article: http://blogs.adobe.com/jlockman/2012/05/26/using-twitter-feeds-in-adobe-dps/  but the code used there is not so far the one provided by your Twitter's profile.
    Anybody out there with same trouble?
    Thanks
    Ignacio

    OK Ignacio, this is how far I've got (with some help). I have logged in to a Twitter account, and created a 'user tweets' widget, then pasted the widget code into a blank HTML document, and I have uploaded this HTML file to a web site.
    The HTML code looks like this (I've blanked out the twitter name with xxxxxx here):
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <a class="twitter-timeline" data-dnt=true href="https://twitter.com/xxxxxxxxx" data-widget-id="256053399068491776">Tweets by @xxxxxxxx
    <script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id =id;js.src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(docu ment,"script","twitter-wjs");</script>
    </body>
    </html>
    By pointing to the URL of this HTML file in Safari or Chrome on my iPad, I see exactly what I should: the user's tweets in a single scrolling column with a 'Tweet to...' field at the bottom.
    But if I put this URL in a Web Content frame on an InDesign page, DPS refuses to preview it in either the desktop Content Viewer or on my iPad, producing the error message 'The assets for one or more overlays could not be located. Verify the assets used are available on disk, then update the article.'
    If I try to upload the article to a folio in the cloud, I get a Content Generation Error with the same error message as above.
    As an alternative, I have deleted the Web Content frame and instead called up Object > Insert HTML and put the following code in the dialog (I have blanked out my precise URL here):
    <iframe src="http://www.xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.html" width="440" height="840" frameborder="0" scrolling="no">
    I click OK, wait a few seconds for the frame to draw and place a low-res preview image of the widget, then position it on the InDesign page. With the frame selected, I open the Folio Overlays panel and ensure Autoplay and Allow User Interaction are ticked in the Web Content options.
    When I preview this page in the desktop Content Viewer... success! The widget works! Brilliant!
    Unfortunately, when I preview this page to my iPad... failure! The widget appears for a split second (probably just the low-res preview from InDesign) before fading out to a blank frame with just the underlined (i.e. linked) words 'Tweets by @xxxxxxxx' at the top. If I touch this text, the Twitter account's full-size home page opens in the in-app browser, which is not what I want either. The same is true if I upload the page to a folio in the cloud and download it to my iPad.
    Curiously, if I go back to the InDesign page, select the frame and untick Autoplay in the Web Content options (Folio Overlays panel), previewing the page to my iPad *appears* to work in that it shows the widget. However, it's not the widget I'm seeing but the same flat preview image that's visible on the InDesign page. When I touch it, the widget preview vanishes, to be replaced by a blank frame with the 'Tweets by @xxxxxx' link at the top.
    I've tried launching the widget in the DPS in-app browser from a button link on the page, as opposed to opening the widget in a frame on the InDesign page, and I get exactly the same results.
    I'm so very close but can't persuade DPS to handle the widget properly. Still experimenting...

  • Spry Widget Wont Load JS to Browser?!?

    I have a Spry slide show widget on my website. I have it linked to the root folder and also in a folder for orginazaion reasons. When the page loads I get a lot of JS errors. If I open the file offline it works fine but when uploaded to the server it wont load the JS. I have checked all the links and they are okay. I can even follow the links and they open up the script. Dreamweaver added the JS files so im asuming that the JS codes are correct. The 2 links are http://tylerdickersondesign.com/classic/classic.html & http://tylerdickersondesign.com/classic.html. This is so frustrating!

These inline styles are only used to make the logo placeholder show up in browsers for demonstration purposes. </p>
              <p>To remove the inline styles, make sure your CSS Styles panel is set to Current. Select the image, and in the Properties pane of the CSS Styles panel, right click and delete the display and background properties. (Of course, you can always go directly into the code and delete the inline styles from the image or placeholder there.)</p>

  • CSS - Spry Menu Problem

    Hello everyone!
    I am having a tricky question, I need your help with!
    I want to insert a spry menu into my webpage. I want the colors of the menu and sub menu to change when I hover over them depending on how many sub menus exist.
    All in all I have at most two submenus.
    That means, I need to assign three colors. One for the menu without submenu, one for the menu with one submenu, and a third for the menu with 3 submenus.
    So far it is working with two colors.
    Who could help me?
    Heartly regards!
    This is what I got:

    As is the case with any styling, all you need is an identifyer to apply style rules to it.
    Hence, if you want to change the colour of a main menu item housing two sub-menu items, simply add a class name as in

  • Dw cs5.5 + Phonegap + spry dataset xml and images links broken

    Hi all,
    I'm building an app using DW CS5.5 and Phonegap.
    This is what I've done:
    created pages using the starter template (local)
    I created a php page that run a query on a mysql database and output an xml file
    I created a spry dataset using the php (see 2) file as data file
    It works locally and on-line on my website.
    But if I package an app using the android sdk from dw CS5.5 I have problems: all images are all broken. It seems that the link to image is not correct.
    In fact, all images are not using absolute path (http://www.mysite.com/images/...) but are set this way: /images/....
    So, my question is: have I to specify all images sources using absolute paths to make it work when packaged?
    TIA for any reply
    tony

    Hi Gramps,
    I just solved the problem with image paths (I made all src paths absolute).
    There is only one problem left: I opened another discussion: http://goo.gl/ysNDH
    But here the link you (correctly) need to trobleshoot the problem): http://www.camar.it/newsxml
    It should work on desktop browsers but it fails when I pack the app for android and install it on an android smartphone: I get "error loading page" when clicking on any details link (the button label is: DETTAGLI) on the news page.

  • Spry Validations not working javascript:Spry.Widget.Form.destroyAll() in popup

    iam using spry to validate controls in a popup.in that
    validations are working fine but the problem is when we click
    cancel button also thse validations are firing...
    i am using
    javascript:Spry.Widget.Form.destroyAll() to destroy
    validations...but it is not working.
    when we click on cancel button how to destroy the validations
    as well as hide the popup...
    can anyone help me...

    Thanks! (While I'm REALLY not comfortable with code yet (working on it :-) I atleast understood that it was a PHP issue (yay).
    Studied the code in the examples in the book. And added:
    <pre>
    <?php if ($_POST) {print_r($_POST);} ?>
    </pre>
    It worked.  (I'm local testing, with no connection to a database yet. Just trying to get the basic pages to work first.)
    Hopefully the more I work on all of this, the more I'll begin to "get it"! And I'm almost up to the Chapter on PHP. So, I'm hoping to will become clearer as I read on.
    Thanks for the help in pointing me in the right direction!!!
