Filmstrip view

I know that in the file room you can view photo files using the Windows Filmstrip option and actually see the picture without actually opening the file. A very handy tool it is!
However, I am not able to do this with the Adobe pdf files - it only shows the logo. I am currently running Adobe Acrobat 6.0 standard. I understand you can do this with the Bridge, but it would require me purchasing another product in order to accomplish this.
I have also been told that there is an add-in that will do this.
Can you point me in the right direction?

Is this in Bridge ?

  • Filmstrip View in the Browser

I understand that there are three views in the Browser: Grid, List, and Filmstrip. The filmstrip view is only available when the Browser is set to "Split View". I know how to cycle through the views (press V) and they all work fine. My question is, where is the "Filmstrip view" icon that is shown in the Aperture 3 User's Manual on p 187 in Chapter 5? The manual says that this icon is only available in when the main view is set to split view layout. If I do this, all of those icons disappear. Am I missing something here?
    Thanks!

I finally figured this out. In order to see the view grid, filmstrip and list buttons while in the "Split View" view, one needs to go to View>Browser>Show Sort & Filter Controls or use Shift-Command-F to toggle these buttons. I knew it was something simple, but it did take me awhile to find the right command. Just thought I'd post this in the hopes of helping someone else.

  • Is there anyway to have a PSE type filmstrip view of all open images in PhotoshopCS4?

PSE 7 has a scrolling filmstrip view of all open images at the bottom of the workspace, making it very easy to see and select all open images. Is there anyway to have this feature in Photoshop CS 4?

Not really, but you can experiment with the drop-down menu in the top bar.

  • Clip appearance not displaying in event browser in filmstrip view

Some of the clips in the event browser don't display a visual in the filmstrip view until I skim over it.  Any clue?

Here is a solution to the problem:
In the Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder,
    enter   /Users/Your user name//Movies/iMovie Library.imovielibrary/Name of Event/
(Name of Event is exactly as it appears in the Event Browser)
    Select Go
This takes you to the folder in iMovie Library for that event, and you will see the contents of that folder as several folders and perhaps a file.  One of the folders is Original Media.  Open that folder and you will see individual files of the individual clips contained in that Event.   Delete the file of choice in the usual OS X way. iI will then appear in the Trash folder.  Empty the trash and it is gone.
This solution was suggested by Shirt Pocket Support, which provides technical help for the backup app SuperDUper.  I am indebted to them.

  • Filmstrip view of photos - images

Does anyone know how to display a filmstrip view of photos or images in a SAP GUI similar to the standard XP functionality ?
    I foresee a few options / assumptions:
    Storage
    1) Photos on SAP Server disk
    2) Photos on Network server
    3) Photos on ArchiveLink server
    Display
    1) Standard Dynpro GUI
    2) WebDynpro
Can a filmstrip be shown using Standard Dynpro?
Is WebDynpro flexible enough to do such a task?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Olivier

    Hi Olivier,
As far as I know, from the Standard SAP GUI Functionality there is no such Filmstrip Functionality. As per the Filmstrip behavior, each time the user presses any button, an user action is triggered. But this in Standard Dynpro    can only be captured in PAI Event.
Also, in the SAP Control Framework, there are no controls which will meet your requirement. But there are some events which you can use to come up with a feature of Tabstrip Control. The events are like Single Mouse Click, Double Mouse Click, and etc. Based on the type of controls like Tree or Simple List you can create a Filmstrip control. You can use these features to come up with your own development.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Samantak.

  • Flecks on thumbnails in Filmstrip views

My Bridge display is messed up in my main computer, in both Horizontal and Vertical filmstrip view. Some thumbnails display correctly. Others don't appear at all. Others have rows of flecks all over them.
This is only true in filmstrip view - all thumbnails display correctly in Thumbnails view, without flecks; and all files open in PS CS3 correctly. But I use filmstrip view a lot, and I'd like to get it back.
    So far I've tried:
    - purging the cache
    - manually deleting the cache from C:\Documents and Settings\Mary\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS3\Cache\data...
    - rebuilding the cache
    - resetting my Bridge prefs by opening Bridge with Ctrl, Shift and Alt held down and selecting the 'reset all' option
    - changing the quality of the thumbnails display and the size of the cache
    - resetting my Photoshop prefs, just in case.
Nothing has worked. Is this a known problem?
I have an identical PS CS3/Bridge installation in my laptop. The display there is fine. Maybe I could cure the problem in the desktop by copying Bridge files from my laptop. But which files?
    Thanks
    Mary

    Curt
Problem solved - thanks a lot!
The 'flecks' were rows of small light-coloured wedges running horizontally across landscape files, or vertically up and down portrait files, as if they had been rasped - or 'scrambled', a word I found in an Adobe technote after getting your post.
I do have 128 MB of VRAM in my 4-year-old computer, but I also have lots of image files. I never had the problem before this month - maybe adding a few hundred more files finally overloaded the card's capacity?
    Best wishes
    Mary

  • How to view scroll bar in filmstrip view in aperture 3.2.2?

I have aperture 3.2.2 and normally work in filmstrip mode.  In the documentation I notice a scroll bar underneath the filmstrip, allowing you to scroll quickly through the images.  When I open aperture I see no such scroll bar.  Underneath the filmstrip I have keyword controls, but no scroll bar.  I have a couple of arrows that allow me to move one image to left or right, but no scroll bar.  Is there a simple way to be able to have the scroll bar be visible?  Thanks, Ric

Ok, It now has suddenly appeared.  I switched between the viewing modes several times, and now the scroll bar is appearing.  It took a long time (and many switches) for this to work, but now it works fine.

  • Why is slide showing up blank in preview and publish, but not filmstrip view?

    Hello,
I was having the problem I described in another post where data that was masked flips back to the unmasked value- however, this time I couldn't figure out any solution.
So, I tried copying the background image, putting it in an image editor, then pasting it back into Captivate and adding my highlight boxes (Captivate 3). It worked in Preview mode for a good hour, then I published and that particular slide showed up with white (no bkgrd. image) but you could still see the highlight box and mouse movement.
I shut down captivate then restart in preview mode and the same thing happened- worked until I published then that particular slide had problems again.
Any ideas? I'd appreciate them much. I feel like I've had every problem in the world with Captivate in the last month!
    Dee

Absolutely confused... I did not suspect that my suggestion would lead to such inexpected behaviour.
I'll have to think more about it, which is difficult since I can't reproduce your problem.
Your idea to move the files from within Elements tells us something.
Maybe examining the log file could give some hints about the failures of Elements in the process.

  • List View in the event browser stopped working.

Recently I was using Final Cut pro X when it crashed, when I re-opened the application I  found that List View in my event browser no longer displayed any content, filmstrip view appears to work but I had gotten quite fond of list view.
Is there a way to get it running again? I've already tried Restarting, shutting down and booting up again, taking out my external hard disk before opening FCPX then putting it back in again..

We have the same FCP X issue. Filmstrip view works, switch to List view and it shows nothing. We even tried closing in List view, then reopening, it reopens in Filmstrip. We have rebooted as well, with no effect. Anyone find a work around?

  • Nothing in list view of the browser

    Hi all
I'm liking the new FCPX a lot but there seems to be a bug (perhaps only on my version). When I switch from filmstrip view to list view in an event, there is nothing in the list and then when I try and switch back to filmstrip nothing happens. Eventually it just crashes.
I'm thinking that I may have to delete the plist preference file but I can't find it. Am I right to do this if there is one or shall I just re-download the app.
By the way, this was happening on vers 10.0.0 and the new upgrade.
Looking forward to rectifying this with your help.

Aperture's metadata handling in the 1.x days skipped or missed some things (e.g. lens info). So images imported in the 1.x days may not have all the details. For these images, if you've upgraded to Aperture 2, running this may get you more EXIF info on the photo.
For images that have been imported in the last 6 months, its not going to do anything at all.
The one exception is if you somehow add GPS info to the RAW files themselves (with a tagging application) after they've already been imported. I think Ian Wood has a couple applications that will do this. Anyway, if you run this command after adding GPS info to a RAW file, I think Aperture will pick it up (I haven't managed yet to successfully add GPS info to a shot tho').

  • Clips not showing up in list view

MacBook Pro 10.7.1 Lion - Whenever I click on list view my clips don't show up. When I click back on filmstrip view final cut x crashes. This doesn't happen on my MacPro Desktop.

Have you tried trashing your preferences?
Faults like this can sometimes be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and quite safe).
With Pref Manager, you can backup the Prefs first, then if trashing makes no difference, you can restore all your settings.
If you trash them and don't restore them, you will need to go over your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then you can ditch the bad prefs and restore from your (Digital Rebellion) backup.
It's worth a try otherwise, there is some conflict.
I suggest you create a new user account on the problem machine and see whether FCP X works OK from there.
What codec is the problem clip?

  • LightRoom 2: Enlarge thumbnail size in filmstrip?

I'm running on a 30" monitor which is really great for workflow efficiency. BUT... the thumbnail images in the filmstrip are just too small and I'd like to be able to enlarge the thumbnail size.
In Grid View, its easy to do this for grid view but does not help with the filmstrip view.

I'm using LR5, but I've been using Lightroom since LR2.  Earlier today, I suddenly found that the images in the filmstrip had shrunk and I couldn't figure out why.  I tried right-clicking on everything and looked through a bunch of preferences and view options without success.  I finally decided to enlist the help of Google.  This is the first search result that I checked and the answer was right there!  Dragging the top of the film strip has never occured to me, but now it seems so obvious!  This is my fourth version of Lightroom and I never realized I could do that!

  • Was using flags in the split view applying flags to images regardless of selection.  Flag would appear under cursor.  Suddenly they now are only visible when and in the large window.  How do I get this capability back.  It is very useful.

I have been using flags conveniently when using the split view flagfs would appear under the cursor in the filmstrip view.  Now they only are visible when a single image is selected and not in the film strip.  This very convenient feature has suddenly and unexplanedly been lost.  How do I get it back?

How are your metadata settings? For me the flags are still showing. Perhaps you have disabled the flags for the Browser view. Edit your Metadata Presets for the Browser:
Enable "Show Metadata" for the Browser and Viewer, and then click "Edit" and eanble the flag for all Metadata views.
For the Browser you need to edit the "Grid View" settings, expanded and Basic:
