Filter by keyfigure

Hi,
I have one report which need filter by keyfigure, for example amount =0. I tried the condition report, however when it doesn't looks good when navigation. For example, it looks ok for year /period, however if I took out the period, it doesn't give me any result. Any other idea?

Hi Victor,
You can achive this by activating the Virtual Time Hierarchy under the Reporting Relevant Settings
SPRO->IMG->Business Information Warehouse->General Settings>Reporting Relevant Settings>General Reporting Settings>Set F4 Help and Hierarchies for Time Characteristics>Virtual Time Hierarchies-->Activate the required info object
you will see
1. Date
2. Cal Year/Month
3. Calendar Month
4. Fiscal Year/Period
Select one info object according to your need
Eg : you have your report with 0FISCPER then Select Fiscal Year/Period and activate a hierarchy.
Now go to your Report and make the Characteristic as of Hierarchy.
This will give you report in Hierarchy Structre.Even if there is no data in Info Cube.

Can we filter the Key figure ( by not using Bex Conditions)

Hello Friends,
I have a requirement in which I am passing the result of one query "A" to another query "B" ( using replacement path). Also there is a requirement to filter the keyfigure of the query "A"
Problems I face:
1) If I use Conditions, it does'nt filter the actual rows from the info cube, but just the query result
2) Hence when I pass the query result of "A" to query "B", it sends more records which I dont need.
Question:
Hence is it possible to filter the keyfigure values at the database level?

I've had a similar problem in the past, not specifically for a replacement path but because the number of rows returned by the query was too great to use conditions. In the end what I did was create a characteristic char version of the key figure that was loaded from the same source as the key figure. You then effectively have a key figure that can be filtered in the same way as a normal characteristic.

No Drill Down for a keyfigure in the Planning Book

Hi experts
We have 5 key figures in planning book.One among five key figures is Supply information , the data will be in the level of Material and Plant level.
We have 5 Characteristics such as product, Prod Grp, Plant, Region and Customer.
I want to restrict the Supply Information Key figure not to drill down when user drill downs at Customer and Region Level.
How to achieve the above functionality using Macro?

Sorry for being late reply.
As per your suggestion i created macro and it was working fine when i drill down but when i select keyfigure selection(magnifying glass) and filter some keyfigures in Interactive demand planning system is not showing blank screen without any keyfigures.
When i remove this macro from Level Change, then i can able to use Keyfigure selection.
What is this inconsistency?
My GUI is 720 and Patch 4.
any suggestion?

Filtering Keyfigures

Hello friends
I wanted to know how can we apply filtering on Keyfigures.
For e.g. I have a current situation where I have to display the budget for a project. The Project is placed in rows and the Budget Keyfigure is placed in Column. Now, I want to filter the Keyfigure on the Current Year variable i.e. I want the Keyfigure to show only the budget for the current year. How can I do this?

Hi Rishi,
You can do that by creating a selection in the KF structure (Right click > new selection) Here choose the KF and the Year char and then right click and restrict with the reqd variable.

Change content keyfigure time reference?

Hi experts,
I`m using BW 3.5...
the key figure "Available Entitlement of a Personnel Time Quota" - 0ENTITLE - has the time characteristics Calender year / month, Calender year, Calender Month and Quarter in the update rules. The time characteristic Calender day is also available but without the flag in column "automatic time conversion" -> how I get this flag, to filter this keyfigure in a query on calender day?

mapping of calender day --> Source Field = Source Chars "Calender Day"...
I cant change in "change source" source chars to calender month -> I can only select calender day.
The flag ist not set in column "automatic time conversion" --> how I get this flag and how I get for time characteristic calender day in column "source fields" the charercteristic calender month. Is it right that I must change source fields of calender day to calender month?
The final question is: How can I report the key figure 0entitle in a query on calender day...at the moment I only can report per month and not to actual day....

Question about WEBAPI URL commands

In Visual Composer I'm making a drilldown from table 1 (output from BW query 1) to table 2 (output BW query 2, but same filters as query 1). In my first table I have many keyfigures, in my 2nd table I just want to display that keyfigure with more detail based on the selection from query 1.
Since I can't filter on keyfigure level in VC itself I need one WEBAPI (url command) to do one additional filtering since I don't want to show all keyfigures in query 2 / table 2. I have been testing this first with supplying the WEBAPI string with the fixed (hardcoded) values and this works fine. It looks as follows :
'FILTER_IOBJNM=44RHE9MINFGXEBEXOI7S7UKE6;FILTER_VALUE=44VSUXQJNO2MG4CLOAF5M503I
The first string is the name of my keyfigure structure in my query, the 2nd string is the technical name of the keyfigure on which I want to restrict. Like it said, supplying the command url values hardcoded words so I thought i was finished...
Now I wanted to pass the right selected value from table 1 via the VC in the FILTER_VALUE field.
It looks as follows now :
'FILTER_IOBJNM=44RHE9MINFGXEBEXOI7S7UKE6;FILTER_VALUE=@KF_key'
But this doesn't seem to work although @KF_key contains the right value. KF_KEY should give the right technical keyfigure name.
Am I using the right syntax in the FILTER_VALUE part ? I have seen some topics on this forum where people also use the & symbol in some parts but I don't get it up and running

Calculated Key Figures: There are used for Calculations we get a new keyfigure populated based on Calculations and we can do it in Query Change mode (Local N Global) Local doesn't have technical Name Global will have technical name.

Workbook filters removed after query chnage

Hi,
i have some filters set on workbook level. (say for example of comp_code 100). This filter is not in the query.
The problem is, when i change the query(say add a new char in the row), i need to chekc the option "return to global definition on refresh" inorder to get the new char in the row in WB. This removes the filter i had on comp_code 100 in WB.
Is there a way, to refersh the workbook with out removing the filter on comp_code?

Hi,
You open a query in BEx Analyzer
->You will find Chart,Filter and Information buttons
->Just Click "Filter" button
->This will show you the Filter item
->Select the Filter Values through this Filter item for any Characteristic and save the Workbook.
Now add a Key Figure in the Query through QD.Now Open the same workbook in Analyzer,observe that the filter values are still shown in the Filter item since you didn't refresh yet.Now right click and Refresh.Now Observer that the "KeyFigure" is filtered to the value which was already there in the workbook and newly added Keyfigure won't be visible in the Analysis gird.Filter for a Characteristic still shown.
Remove the filter for KeyFigure.Now the Analysis item will show the newly added keyfigure along with the filters of Characteristic in the Filter item which means that the newly added Keyfigure is available in the report and the Filter values still preserved.

Uni on Bex-Query: filter on Structure - Without Keyfigures as column: error

I have a 'Without Key Figure structure' as a column called Version in which (amoung others) the values 'Actual' and 'Last Year' .
Thus
Version
- Actual
- Last Year
Now i want to create a filter in my universe which pre-selects Actual.
When I use the tool for that this is my standard definition of the filter:
<FILTER KEY="@Select(Version\Version)">
<CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
<CONSTANT VALUE="Actual"/>
</CONDITION>
</FILTER>
However it results in error: 'A database error occured. The database error text is: (CS) "Error on BindCol". (WIS 10901)'
Meaning(i guess) that somehow i'm not getting the correct selection-command to the database,
When i use the version-dimension itself in the reports as part of the query filter it works fine and LOV displays both versions for selection.
We are using XI3.1 fp3.1; BW 701-sp5 on oracle 11
I've look through the forum, but couldnt find an answer.
If there is point me into that direction and i'll close this one
Any other information on how filters etc should be specified in an Universe on a BW query is also greatly appreciated.
I already have found some info but any information is welcome.

In your sales analysis report you have customer,material,sales qty,value for an year..You want to show current month sales one more column.You will create a restritcted key figure based on the current month and show it in the report.You will end up with a report
customer,material,sales qty,value,Current Month Qty,Current Month value.
Filters
The above report you want to show only the current month sales.You will create a filter where the 0CALMONTH = current Month with customer,material,sales qtym,value for the current month only.

Hi M.V,
Free chars are those chars that you can use to drill down your query as per your requirement at run time, i.e. once you have executed the query you can make your filter or drill down options more flexible by using the free chars.
Filter Area : Filter area is that area where you can specify the Variable's required for input, you can also restrict some charcteristic values directly as well.
For e.g -> for ur query requirement is to take date as input from user, so u will create a variable based on the calday info-object and place it in filter area.
Directly restricting characte.
Restricting country to 'India', now u will get the data onnly where the country is india.
Any restriction that u specify in filter area will globally effect your query. i.e. u will see only that data ouput which meets the specified restrictions
1ROWCOUNT : you get field 1rowcount when u create any DSO. By default system adds this field that contains value 1 for each row.

BPS - How to filter a BPS layout based on keyfigure value.

Hi Gurus,
I am in a requirement to display a BPS layout based on a keyfigure value. Basically filter based on a keyfigure value. I don't want to display any records which contains a value of '0' in a particular keyfigure. Is this possible in BPS.

thanks guys for your response.
The macro is not going to help me because the number of records from the database fetch is going to be more than 15000 and the valid records are only around 100. And since BPS cannot display more than 9999 records this would be a problem. This is my assumption. Let me try this out and see how BPS responses.
I tried using the exit function to delete the records from buffer with the condition if the keyfigure is 0 but the other keyfigures values are affect due to this. Meaning BPS keeps track of the changed records and changes the other keyfigure value to 0.
e.g. I have 2 keyfigure, A and B. A is the keyfigure where I check the value for 0 and B is the keyfigure with a non-zero value say $10. And in the exit before processing I have 10 records out of which 2 records are having value 0 for the A keyfigure and 8 records are having value as 1 for the A KeyFigure. And B keyfigure is having $10 for all the records. Based on the condition I delete off the 2 records from memory. SEM keeps track of this change and when you press on the save button in planning layout, the value for the B keyfigure are changed from $10 to $ -10 and saved to the database, I don't want this change in value to B keyfigure happening. So any other work arounds....

Let me explain you .
Filters:
Filters represent the conditions that message types and BAPIs have to satisfy so that they can be distributed by ALE outbound processing.
Restricted Key Figure:
If You have defined a restricted key figure for reuse.
You can now use this restricted key figure in all queries based on this InfoProvider by moving the key figure into the rows or columns of the query using Drag&Drop.
The restricted key figure is not an actual element in this query, but a placeholder referenced to the restricted key figure in the InfoProvider.

How to use one Filter Pane to multiple Dataproviders

Hi Experts.
i have checked the threads on this but i did not get correct solution.
we have issue in using single Filter pane web item in WAD for three different dataproviders ( three dataproviders have same free charecteristics and variable) charecteristics in row and keyfigures are different.

when we use the single filter pane, filter conditions are working for only first dataprovider (since data binding is to dataprovider 1. in affterted dataproviders i selected dataprovider 2 and 3, but filter pane is not active for other two dataproviders in tabs.

OR Condition in Filter area of a query.

Hi All,
I have a scenario, where i need to implement a condition where I need to put combination or AND and OR condition.
Its something like:
Employment status shd be 'Active' OR
Term date Shd be in cureent year AND
line of Business = '99' or '97'.
I was planning to put these conditions in Filter area of a query, but since there is no option for OR condition. Hw shd I go about implementing this.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Pooja,
Multiple characteristics with value restriction corresponds to AND conditions and not OR Conditions.
Alternatively can create Formula on keyfigures which specifies all the conditions. Formula supports all logical ,mathematical,boolean operations.
