    Hi @pkjbadala ,
I see that you are getting a filter failed message, when you try to print. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer..
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.
    Try and print a document.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a great day!

  • Filter Failed Message after HP software update

My old HP deskjet 932C printer now gets a "filter failed" message since the HP software update. I can't print documents. Any suggestions?

Go to System Preferences, Printers and Scanners.  Select your printer that's not working and delete it (hit minus sign).  Restart your computer.  Go back to Printers and Scanners and add printer.  I had same problem this morning with HP 932C and this solved the problem for me.

  • Password fail message from iCloud

I Am submitting this question for my cousin, who is receiving a Password Fail message on her iPad, iPhone and MacBook.  Just recently she changed her password to her Apple ID because of a possible security attack with her printer.  Since then she has been receiving Password Fail Messages from iCloud.  Since iCloud uses Apple ID as a login mechanism, she  is unable to initiate a question to this forum.
she attempted to reset her password but when she did, she received a Security question, which she answered but she received a failure notification that her answer was incorrect.  I recommended she try again and she received the same fail notification and now she is locked out And still receiving password Fail notifications.
IIs there anything this forum can recommend to remove the Fail alerts?

  • 'Filter' failed message when trying to print

I have a MacBook Pro 15-inch, mid 2009 running OS 10.9.5 and an Epson Artisan 730 with a wireless connection.
Today, when trying to print, I get a message that says, "Stopped - 'Filter' failed."
I have never seen this message before.  It was printing just fine a couple of days ago.
I noticed there was an Epson software update available in the App Store, so I downloaded that.  Didn't help.
I tried restarting the computer.  Didn't help.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?  It just sort of came out of nowhere.

Mystery solved! By going to the referenced link, I found this:
If you’re using a Wi-Fi network and there are multiple Wi-Fi networks available, your Mac and the printer might be on different networks. Open the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar, then try choosing a different network.
I got a new router that has two network branches. The printer (Artisan 870) is on the low-speed branch (because who cares how long something takes to print?). Rebooting usually brings up the MacBook Pro on the same branch for some reason, but I had manually switched it to the high speed branch to watch some streaming video. Manually switching it back cured the problem. This thoroughly explains why I was getting this error message intermittently.

Strangely, saving the same files under "Image" (jpeg) print correctly.
Surprisely, a given file put on an other MacBook (11"), same OS prints wthout problem. Thanks for help.

  • CcBPM: can we resend the failed message from PI to R/3

    Hi All,
I have  a scenario where I need to process 4 separate files in a fixed sequenec in R/3. (File-1 first, then File-2, File-3 and then File-4). These files will come to PI at same time.
I understand CCBPM may be the only way to do it elegantly. (please advise if otherwise)
    My questions on CCBPM approach:
    1. If out of the 4 files, The first file fails to update data in R/3 (due to missing config), can I make the ccBPM to stop and not process other files.
    2. So approach in point 1 above means, ccBPM will have to wait for an acknowledgement from SAP or run some RFC command to check if data has actually been posted...am I right?
    3. Now, If the user manually corrects the config in R/3, can I re-run this interface from PI(read ccBPM) to start the processing of 1st file( which failed previously).
    4. If it succeeds to post data in SAP, then will ccBPM ensure that all other files are sent for processing as they all need to go in a sequence.
    5. Is this message re-running possible from SXI_MONITOR or for ccBPM failed messages there is something else. ( aplogies for this basic question - I am new to ccBPM approach )
    Appreciate your help on same.
    Many thanks
    SK

    Hi SK,
plz find all required informations at [SAP Help: Integraton Processes (ccBPM)|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/3c/831620a4f1044dba38b370f77835cc/frameset.htm]
And, yes, you are new to BPM, but obvisiously experienced in IT at all and additional familiar with SAP applications. Look forward to run your first BP, it is a very welcome satisfaction to see the checkered flag. Only the best drivers are going to see it

  • Print Jobs not clearing "Deleting - Printed" message from Print Queue

The jobs print fine but the message Deleting - Printed doesn't clear from the print queue.
The two printers having the issue are HP Color LaserJet 3550s using the External HP JetDirect en3700 (J7942A-61033).
Our Print Server is an HP BL25P running MS Server 2003 Enterprise Edition / SP2.  This issue started about two weeks ago only on these printers.  I downloaded the newest drive (dated 2007 version 61.63.461.41).
I have deleted and recreated the printers on the Print server and installed the new driver.  Still having the same issue.  To clear the Print Queue we have to restart the Print Spooler Service on the Print Server.- this causes the "Deleting - Printed" jobs to print again which could be days / weeks after they were originally printed.
We don't want to keep having to restart the Print Spooler.
Any one having a similar issue and know off a fix.   I have tried everything I have so far found on the Web.
    Thank you.
    Mike

Hello @shumaung , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing print speed issues.  I would like to help!

  • CM6040 MFP - LOW TONER MESSAGE FROM PRINTER TO COMPUTER WITHOUT ERROR CODE OR COLOR

The printer is sending "low toner/ink" message to whomever prints.  The printer shows no error code on the display and prints fine.  The message the printer sends to the computer does not indicate what color is low.  We all operate on Windows 7 which we just upgraded to a few weeks ago.  Like I said, the printer continues to print fine and does not display an error code on the display but continues to send this annoying message everytime one prints.  Any ideas on what is causing this message?

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/
    I hope this helps.

  • Printer keeps giving 'filter failed' message.

I removed and added it a couple of times from the 'printers and scanners' section but no solution. The printer I have is the Samsung SPP-2020B. On the Samsung website I can not find any updates for the printer.
    Please help me!

    Thanks sig!
I'm not that great with computers but when I download the driver and instal it, it must work right?
First I downloaded the drivers and installed it, than my problem wasn't solved so I restarted mij computer. Stil no result.
Than I removed the printer from the scanner and printers list and reinstalled the software and addited it again. Still no result, ore at least the same error.
Do I have to do anything more than removing it from te list if I want to uninstal a printer?

  • How do you stop a message filter vacation message from responding repeatedly to a failure message?

I set up a message filter for a vacation message while I was away. The problem is, every time I get a junk message (like from LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), it sends the vacation message, then gets a failure message, and then responds to the failure message. This keeps happening until I can get into my settings and shut off the filter. Sometime I come back to over 200 failure messages because it just keeps sending the auto response over and over.
Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

the support article [[Vacation Response|here]] says use the setting provided by your service provider on their web site for a reason.
To answer your specific question, you will need to check the from email is not one of those junk email addresses (perhaps an address book could be created for them and the filter check it accordingly. You filter will also need to check the message is not a delivery failure notification and in truth will still bury someone is vacation responses because it sends them one every time they email you.

  • After mavericks update, HP print error message = 'filter' failed.

Since I updated my MacBook Pro to OSX 10.9, I can no longer print on my HP Deskjet 1220C.  I get an error message that says "filter failed".  This printer is about 10 years old, but it's a goodie. It worked fine when I was using OSX lion. My roommate is still using OSX lion, and can print on the 1220C just fine.
I tried reinstalling the drivers found at < http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US >, but got the same error message when I tried to print.
Is there a raster filter file I could copy from the old operating system to solve this issue?  Any suggestions?

    Mr. McGruzoo,
I went to PCHelpStation, an online company that will remotely fix computer problems.   Last week, that got the printer to work.  Then two days ago, I realized that the “generic” printer driver only prints in black.   Yesterday and today. the company spent hours and finally that company gave up.   After seeking all kinds of work-arounds, nothing will change.   Now, I am in a email war with Hewlett Packard.   My 1220c printer is excellent.    I do not want to buy another and I believe that HP should support every computer.   The fact that HP has excellent long lasting products is all the more reason for that company to continue to support the 1220c printer.   In one the emails, the VP of HP offered me a coupon for 20 dollars off paper and toner and a printer recommendation to buy a new one.    I am not taking the coupon nor buying a new printer. I want a DRIVER for my printer!
Thank you for responding to my post.   Maybe all of us can band together and badger HP until a driver is provided.
    Sincerely,
    Rosalind Johnson

  • My HP LaserJet CP1025nw won't print, "Filter failed" error

Whenever I print something, it acts like it's about to then a system notification just says "printing stopped." There is a "Filter failed" error at http://localhost:631/printers/HP-LaserJet-CP1025nw. I have hplip installed, and have reinstalled it a few times. Two things I've tried from searching the web. I cleared the pacman cache and still the same issue. I tried installing foo2zjs  from the AUR, but it would not compile (did not pass the validity check). It prints fine on Linux Mint. I'm out of ideas and don't know where else to go. Any suggestions?

That page's troubleshooting for the "Filter failed" message worked out. I consulted the Wiki before but never found that exact page. I guess I didn't use the best search criteria. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • Epson xp-202 will not print "Filter failed"

I am moving from SuSE to Arch - installed couple of days ago.  My epsonxp202 was working (well) under SuSE with 'drivers' downloaded late November.  The download now gives *different 'drivers', offering .rpm, .deb, dource (.src.rpm).
Cups finds printer (wirelessly) no probs, but attempting to print gives "Filter failed" message.  Log shows it to be the epson_inkjet_printer_filter supplied which gives the error :
[Job 15] PID 1469 (/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-201202w/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter) stopped with status 102 (No such file or directory)
    file command gives this output
/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-201202w/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.8, not stripped
    And ldd gives
/usr/bin/ldd: line 116: /opt/epson-inkjet-printer-201202w/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter: No such file or directory
I have tried removing the compiled files and replacing with those extracted from rpm - no deal
Removed those and extracted everything from .deb, ran the preinst script, untarred the files and ran the postinst.
As an old (SysV) unix freak I am baffled.  After moving to the .deb version I got a complaint about /usr/share/cups/drivers/pscript5.dll not found - so I obtained this Win crap and stuck it there.  Back to same old problem.
Other forums suggest that this printer is fine with this set of 'driver' files.
N.B.  I *did* try copying over everything that the SuSE version appeared to be using without luck.
Has *anybody* an idea on how to make this printer function under Arch?  Xsane found and used the scanner side without any downloads or other inteervention.

    Fixed.
Thank you Misery.  As I am juust starting out with Arch I was unaware of PKGBUILD/makepkg system.  You have *greatly* enhanced my Arch experience.
I am, however, still puzzled as to why I got the 'file not found' message from ldd.  I checked dependencies with objdump and installed the one (old)libjpeg it wanted, but ldd still refused to run giving me 'file not found'!

  • [SOLVED] Network printing stops with 'Filter failed'

I have a problem with printing over the network. What I want to do is printing from my wireless connected laptop with the usb-printer (HP PSC 1315 aio) that is connected to my computer (that functions as the cups-server). On the laptop, I added the printer with the address ipp://192.168.1.33:631/printers/hp_psc_1310_series. After printing a (test)page, the progress stops with ‘Stopped “Filter failed”’. The print task is send to the computer because I see it there, but I think on the computer is going something wrong.
    - Printing from the computer is no problem!
    - It isn’t the firewall, because I stopped iptables.
    - I deinstalled cups, deleted all configuration files, installed cups and added the printer; no success.
    - Avahi is active; I restarted it already (the wiki says that can help, but no success).
    - I tried it with another laptop, but with the same result.
    - I have the printer marked as ‘shared’ and the server as ‘Share printers connected to this system’.
Does someone know anything else to try to get it working?
Last edited by Hannus (2013-11-26 18:33:13)

This afternoon I tried printing over the network again, and it worked! I have no idea why it is functioning now, maybe there was an update of CUPS or another package that made it work. I did the same as last time, but now the printer was simply reacting as he should.
    I'm happy with this!
