Filter on LR5 only?

Could we please have a filter to limit the stuff shown to just LR5 please. I realise people with older versions have problems, but I don't want to read them.

Library filter issue (LR5)

Hello,
I recently upgraded to LR5 and began experiencing serious problems with library filters. The keyword filter stops showing pictures when some keywords are selected. It often makes the LR freeze for several minutes and then it won't show any photos any more. Same story with LR5.2RC. No such problem with LR4.4, though...

There are 35.000 images in the library. Most of the keywords work fine, but the last ones on the list make the LR crash. Lightroom runs on a 64-bit PC under Win7.

Library Filter in LR5

I am using the library filter in Lightroom 5. I have flagged some photos and want to use the filter to find these photos.
The filter is including both the flags and the star rating. I only want to search the flags and don't know how to stop the filter from using the star rating at the same time.

Click on the highest selected star to turn it off, i.e. if the search is looking for 3 stars (or higher/lower than), click on the third star to turn off that particular search.

How to apply saturation filter between keyframes only?

I have a bunch of old home videos that look bleached, I mean flat colours. It's the camera that causes this (it's a cheap camera). So I found a filter in Premiere that I can use to adjust saturation:
* Fast Color Corrector
Now I can only apply this filter to the entire clip. However, some parts of the clip need different settings than others, so I tried to use key frames but that's not going to fly with this filter. It makes sense because it's called "Fast Color Corrector". However, I haven't found a filter that allows me to adjust saturation for individual parts of the clip between key frames.
Where should I look?

If the other two suggestions do not help you, rather than apply between Keyframes, you can also cut the Clip (Razor Tool) and apply where needed. If you need the "ramping" effect of the Fast Color Corrector, then just add a Cross-Dissolve. This works for other non-Keyframable Effects in many cases.

[Edit] You might want to Alt-click the Video to unlink it from your Audio, when using the Razor Tool. No sense in cutting your Audio too - in a very few instances, this can cause little "pops" in the Audio.

Plugin Filter, x64 - Debug only

Hello All,
I have a plugin filter which works fine with Win32 debug/release and x64 Release. But when I build a x64 Debug, the filter never shows up in the Photoshop CS* Filter Menu options.
What am I missing, Your advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I found the problem. It was a stack overflow at the beginning of the application which was happenning in the debug build's only. The Win Debugger helped me track these issues.

How can I create a fIlter to delete only "junk" from the server?

One of my E-mail accounts is that of a major client. I handle their customer service online. Normally our protocol is to always leave all messages on the server, so for that one Thunderbird account, I have it set to never delete messages on the server.
But the account recently started getting a lot of junk messages. Thunderbird is doing a remarkable job at marking those and placing them in the junk folder for that account. I would like to create a filter that could remove them from the server, preferably those more than "x" days old so I could monitor the activity to be sure that no important message are removed.
I did notice that in "Filters" I can create a custom filter from a header of my choice, but can't seem to create what I want which is:
- after mail is marked as Junk by Thunderbird to delete those messages from the server if they are older than "X" days (my choice of "X").
- not delete any other messages from the server for that account

I believe that did it! Thank you. I am running those changes on a secondary E-Mail address for the same job and server and it appears to be working properly.

How can I search or filter to see only videos?

I've returned from an extended trip and have downloaded all of my media into Aperture and iPhoto by extension.
Is there a way in which I can search or filter to locate all my videos so I can move them to a single location (other than looking for an icon on each image)?

Create a smart album (File > New > Smart Album) and in the smart settings panel click "Add rule"
Add a rule "File type is: video"
Or click the looking glass in the searchfield in the Browser and add a rule "File type is: video" there.

Scheduling a filter to run only once a day

I am trying to build a filter running once every day, so far i am using "scheduledSystemEvent" which executes the filter every 5 mins.
I tried doing this via "CustomScheduleEvnet" also but did not have any luck with it.

The quick and dirty way I've done this before is with a java filter hooked into "checkScheduledEvents" (emphasis on "quick and dirty"). Example below:

Move email from Inbox to Local Folder using Message Filter moves header only, not contents.

I created a Message Filter to move email from Inbox to a Local Folder based on Date. The email headers were moved, but not the contents. Since I'm using IMAP, all the emails were deleted from the server.
I searched for similar problems and I followed one suggestion to "repair" one of the target Local Folders, but that made things worse. Now the header information (Subject, From, Date (now set to the date the transfer was done, not the email received date) is all blank.
The Local Folder properties indicate the email is contained in
mailbox:///C:/Users/Ted/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/c65xcqqf.default/Mail/Local Folders/Archives.sbd/2010
I can see the messages from other Local Folders here, but the ones "moved" are empty.
Should this location be changed?
Is there some way to recover the email contents?

Can't apply Graduated Filter and Radial Filter in LR5 (photo becomes grey box)

I am using the Lightroom 5, every functions are working fine, except the Graduated Filter and Radial Filter casuing me a problem.
When I click on the Graduated Filter / Radial Filter button, and trying to apply the filter (i.e. draw the eclipse) on my photo, my photo in the central pane immediately turns grey, as per below screenshot.
I have to click the Library Module and then click Develop Module in order to get back the photo showing in the central pane, but the same problem appears if I tried to use the Graduated and Radial Filters.
Anybody knows the root cause and solution ? Please kindly help. Thank you !

The easiest thing should be to simply apply the preset to an image, then choose to Update with Current Settings and make sure Graduated Filter is unchecked. Move through all of your presets like this.
I don't know how many suspect presets you have to go through, but you can also manually edit them with a simple text editor to remove the Graduated filter. If you right-click on the preset, you can show in Explorer/Finder. Open the file in Notepad/TextEdit and simply remove the GradientBasedCorrections section (this has many sub-fields, most of which start with "Local"). Save the file and move on to the next.

[Mobile] Filter to Show only FULL Albums in Your Music

Upon first seeing the new updated I had assumed that the saved songs will show individually saved tracks, and the saved albums would show full saved albums. So I right away imported my starred list into "songs," and all my album playlists into "albums." Much to my dismay, ALL of my saved tracks showed up in the albums area, making it nearly impossible to actually find the albums I had saved as full albums.
Please enable a sort function to show only full albums in the albums tab. If that doesn't become possible, it kind of makes the entire overhaul of the saving experience pretty useless.

I totally agree that this needs to be addressed. I posted this below the other day only to see others have the same issues.
This is proberbly something spotify will have to address but I was wondering if anyone knows a way to only show FULL (Complete) albums in the album section. This is the only thing I have found that isnt quite right with spotify. It should keep individual songs in the song section and entire albums in the album section. At the moment my albums section shows up with singles from albums and partial albums which makes it very mesy. I know you can make folders and drag the albums into playlist but I think this is something that should automatically happen with the albums section because it makes more sence.

Filter Plugin: Access only to non-blank pixels in layer.

There is a document 500x900 with a transparent background. In the document there is a layer with a filled circle. In a filter I want to get data exclusively filled region, and not an area the size of a document.

First off, don't confuse "alpha" with "transparency" they are different.
If I create a RGB document with one layer and call the Dissolve example I get the following bits of information in the FilterRecord:

See DoFilter, the loop on the planes, and DissolveRectangle, the changing of the data on each plane, in the Dissolve.cpp example file.
Now flatten the document and create an alpha channel and select all channels via the channels panel. Selecing just the alpha channel or any one channel will have different results.
