Filter option in Report Painter GRR1

Dear Experts,
I have created a report using the the T code: GRR1. The layout is as follows
Expenditure
Department A
Department B
Department C
Department D
Department E
Power & Fuel
Other expenses
Each department having 20 cost centers. I have created the report and assigned in 1SIP report group.
I am able to get the results in the report S_ALR_87013611.
I am able to see the department wise costs in that report.
My Requirement is:
I am expecting a filter in the departments mean to say I want to select few cost centers in the department A after executing the report.
I am expecting a filter in the column heading.
Is it possible. Please guide me.

Report Painter GRR1, no returning values

Hello,
I'm creating a report using report painter (GRR1). I need to do a Balance report, so i've been creating set's for GL account ranges. For example:
Set 1: from: 2781174000 until: 2781176999
Set2: from: 4300000000 until: 4399999999
I'm building my report using that set's in lines.. explode them and 'Til here everything is ok.
But when i execute my report, is only shown the lines (set's) that cointains amounts on the accounts. Set's that DO NOT have any amount (the amount is zero) don't appear in the report.
My question is.. is it possible to display that "empty" lines in report?

Sorry for bother you one more time.. as you said.. neverending story..
I'm using as characteristic gl account. Now i need to use gl account on selection screen too.
So for that I created a variable of set. In selection screen that field is available to set with gl accounts, but when I execute the report, is displayed all accounts. It doesn't respect the selection i've made by account.
For example in selection screen:
Account from: 1200000 account to: 12999999
I execute report and is displayed all set accounts and not only accounts in range 12000000...12999999.
How can I do that selection correctly?

Create New-GL Profit Center P/L by Report Painter (GRR1)

Dear CO gurus
I'd like to create P/L by Profit center level (New-GL, not EC-PCA).
As a solution, I'd like to use CO report painter (GRR1), instead of new-gl's drill down report painter FGI3.
I could create library by referrencing to FAGLFLEXT.
But when I goes to GRR1, it is difficult to create report.
So, if anybody tells me the detail step or reference side, please let me know.

Process in GRR1 remains same whether you choose 8A library or ora New GL Library
Fgi3 is for drildown reports and GRR1 is for normal reports
What problemproblem are you facing in grr1?? The process is same as for other reports

In report painter when we go to "maintain selection options", the
"exclude from selection" is greyed out.

In Report painter how to enable the option to check the set/hierarchy node option in general data selection. it always displayes in disabled mode.

in change mode(GRR2)it wont allow to edit 'set/hierarchy node', only allows for variable.

Is it possible to have selection to choose either all GL account or GL account with balance in the report painter? something related to supress zeros or not suppress zeros. Please advice.

To suppress zero rows follow the steps below:
1. Go to t-code GRR2
2. Select and Double click the report in the library
3. Go to Formatting menu and choose Report Layout Sub-menu
4. Go to the Rows tab
5. Choose hide zero rows
6. Save
To suppress zero columns:
1. Go to t-code GRR2
2. Select and Double click the report in the library
3. Go to Formatting menu and choose Report Layout Sub-menu
4. Go to the Columns tab
5. Tick the suppress zero columns
6. Save

Report Painter GRR1 table CCSS cost centers actual/bud by period wise

Hi,
I have developed Cost Center Actual/Budget Report by period for 12 months (Jan to Dec in columns) in each columan I have hardcoded period e.g. for Jan (01) Feb (02) till Dec (12-12) for one of coulmns given as variable From Period to To Period as vairbale to choose user in selection criteria (1PERIV-1PERIB). while executivng the report system is givng results for whole (12)periods in the output, even my selection criteria from period 1 to 3.
Please advise any body how can I restrict by period wise.. e.g. if I select from period 1-3 it should show for only 3perios.

I have done below steps to my CC Report to show by period wise(individual columns Jan, Feb, so..on) cost center report:
Step 1: used Library 1VK, Table CCSS in GRR1.
Step 2: Created 12 individuals columns starting from Jan to Dec..
Step 3: Created 12 formula variables(internal Variables) for 12 periods..(becoz if I hardcoded system is deriving all the
             periods)..
           a) created Internal value Variable ZVAR(defaualt 01),ZAR1(default 02),ZAR2 (default 03)...this is for to create fomula
               variables.
           b) for period 1(jan) formula variable "IF '&ZVAR'>= 1 THEN 1 ELSE 017" internal variable table:CCSS,field:PERBL
           c) for period 2(feb) IF '&ZVA1'>= 2 THEN 2 ELSE 017 like wise created 12 variables for 12 periods
Step 4: above the formula variables I have selected check box as variable but not coming on selection screen, I need in
            selection screen from period to period for this I have created one more hide column and given period vairable "1PERIK"
           now its coming on the selection screen but values are not populating based on by selection criteria..
Note: If I slect 1-4 periods it should show for only Jan,Feb, Mar & April and individually..
Please sugget above my formula is correct or not!! appreciate your valuable suggesion!

SAP Report Painter - GRR1

Can you help me on below issue?
I developed one CO-CCA report (TC: GGR1)
Data is OK but now I am facing issues in format.
Format Group              0                   0
Lead Column              Jan                 Feb
Sale                          10,000           90,000
GP                               4,000           30,000
GP Margin %              40.00             33.33
The requirement of this report is to view values in scaling of 000 (Thousand)
While executing this report user is using column format scaling in 000 and decimal 0
Implication on report
Amount values are OK (Sales and GP)
but Calulated GP margis is almost showing ZERO due to 000 scaling format option.
I am looking for solution where I can format only selected special rows with decimal 2 format and scaling 1 format
Please assist and advice.

Its clear to me that you have understood my requirement and reached near to solution.
Option 1 Change formula by adding 000 - I tried but it will not meet my requirement.
Option 2 Hard Code the scaling option in form defination itself (GRR2) - I checked GRR2 but could able to find option for hard code, can you please assist on this?
Additionally I noticed when I selected row like "GP MARGIN %" and right clicked then I get option NUMBER FORMAT when click this option I get window box option NUMBER FORMAT with sub heading "GP MARGIN %" as FACTOR and Decial Scalling - I selected this scalling but i think it is not getting applied. Possible reason due to column number format leading the settings.

GRR1 report painter how to explode at GL account level ?

I am preparing a balance sheet using report painter GRR1. in the characteristic i assigned the group account number and set as explode. however when i see the report it is exploded at group account number only asterisk level i set is 01. do you guys have any idea how to explode at GL account level? do i need to define asterisk level upto 03 ? if yes how to create asterisk level ?

For each head like Trade Receivables, Trade Parables, etc, Did you explicitly maintain the GL acct. range by selecting 'Account Number' as Characteristics in that line?

Report painter select options

How can i have a select option in report painter similar to normal report program.

r u asking about screen painter se51,if so there we dont have any option like select option.
there we need to drag and drop 2 input boxs and one text box for 'to' in between those two input boxes and in program we need to maintain all the coding as one low and one high value that's it.

In report painter report, line item level drilldown report requirment

Dear All,
I created one report in GRR1, when I execute the report i am not getting line item wise drilldown option. For example one cost center no of line itemwise posting ( g/ls wise)posting is there. By double clicking on that specific line item we will go that ledger and see the data available in that ledger.In standard reports that option available but my own reports I unable to go drilldown at ledger level cost reports.
Please sugget anyone, where I am doing mistake in report creation level.

General Hierachy in Report Painter

All,
Is it posible to use my own hierachy create in transaction MCK1 in Report Painter ( GRR1 / GRR2 )?
If yes, how can I do it?

with MCK1 you create hierarchies for MM areas. These hierarchies cannot be used within Report Painter.

Report painter-want to hide period columns dynamically if the period is not closed

Hi All,
I have made report with 12 columns like JAN, FEB till DEC in report painter (GRR1)
Requirement is that if say, currently only period no.4(APR) is closed and we are in period no.5( MAY) or system date is in MAY, then the report should not show the data for the current period no.5(MAY), eventhough data is there. Or else it should show data for JAN to APR (closed periods)
For this I defined 12 different period formula variables in GS11, based on system paramters like
S008 Year (from Local System Date)
S002 Month (from Local System Date)
S003 Day of Month (from Local System Date)
S012 Current Period in Current Year (per CO Fiscal Yea
But the issue is that eventhough the variable is defined as formula variables, still the default values are given by system and default value only getting passed to the report and thus data is displayed for the unclosed period.
But SAP help says that formula variables are without default values unlike the value type variable.
Any help in this will be highly appreciated.

No Program generated after creation of new report via Report Painter

Hello,
I have created a new report after copying an existing report from report painter GRR1. The new report has also been assigned to a new Report Group relevant to the same library.
There is no Syntax error. The only change has been to the Title of the report.
However when I am trying to execute the report nothing happens. ABAP found that no program has been generated by SAP for this mew rpeort. We confirmed this by searching with my user ID in table TRDIR.
However there is no trace of it.
We have tried to execute the report from GRR3 & GR53 (report group). The report & report group is having the same attributes as the old one.
Unless the report is in executable stage we are not able to go to the Selection screen & finally from the Technical Information to the program name.
Please could you let me know what can be the possible cause for this & how can we resolve the same.

@JoeSchmoe115: Thanks for your suggestion. Using a web service or WCF service would still mean dealing with potential timeouts for very large reports (granted you can adjust those timeouts).
I think an approach using a console app could work, but rather than having the web app spawn it, an alternative would be to do the following: (1) have the web app insert report generation requests (including all necessary report parameters) into
a database table, and (2) have a console app, periodically invoked by Windows Task Scheduler, which reads that database table and then uses the SSRS API as you describe to generate the report, save the byte stream to a file, and finally send
the e-mail notification to the user.

What you've described will work but saving report generation requests in separate table may not be necessary. I don't have much experience with web services but can they just spawn C# console app with needed parameters and exit without waiting for console
app to complete?
The positive side of using database to store report generation requests is that you would have complete log of all requests. Your console app can then update database with completion status.

Transaction code for Report painter

Hi Experts,
I have created reports using Report Painter (GRR1).
I want to create Transaction code (TCODE) for reports which was done using Report painter.
Could you please help me how to do this.

You can follow following steps :
1) goto SE93 -> ENter a name for tcode
2)Define the Transaction Code as a Parameter Transaction
3)in the default values for selection-screen block enter the Transaction as 'START_REPORT' .
4)Check skip initial screen , inherit GUI attribute
5)In the default values ->name of screen field, use F4 help to select D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE
6) Against this field ,in the value column Enter 'RW' .
7) again in next row of name of screen field select D_SREPOVARI-REPORT
8) as in step 6 ,enter the name of your report Group to which you haev assigned your Report.
Save and test the TCode.
This should resolve your problem.
