Filter value to be added to filter group

Hi all,
in bd64 for one of the model we are having filter group.In that filter group we are maintaing some values.Now i want to add some new values to that filter group.But it is not allowing to add and it is showing in display mode .
Kindly let me know how to add new values to filter group.
pl let me know in which table these data will be stored and also is there any Function module is there to maintaint it .

I am having some doubt related to CRM Badi's there are two types of BADI's one is Muliple use badi and other in Filter dependent BADI.
    Incase of filter dependent BADI. when we are creating implentation for filter BADI how to pass this filter value to that new implentation.i.e. if we are going to see the importing parameters for Each method of that Filter Dependent BADI.   the 1st importing parameter for each method is FILTER VALUE for each method in Filter Dependent BADI.
      So my question is that how to map this filer value while creating new implentation for Filter Dependent BADI ?
     It will Automatically get this importing filter value or we have to do any coding for this ????

this Badi defination is filter dependent.

If this is the case. Then what is the use of filter in that if it is automaticaaly getting mapped i.e. How the filter will restrict the use for Badi ??
          I am not getting it ??????
Because for every simple badi when we are going to creat the implenation it will work fine without any restrictions by getting all importing values automatically.
And incase of filter depednt Badi also its going in same way it will get its filter value automatically so both the cases are same for Filter dependent badi and simple badi.
Then what is the use of Filter value ????

Select filter value..not opening..query hanging

Hi,
I have a queary and it is executing fine. After executing it is displaying data fine. I have company code and two more characterstics in free characterstics section. After executing the report i am doing right click at company code in the excel sheet and selecting the option 'select filter value'. It is then opening the small screen 'selection for company code' but it is not displaying the values. It's keep on running and after some time it is hanging (not responding).
In the company code object hardly there are 60 values. Can anyone tell me why this is taking long time and result in hanging for just 60 values?
This company code object is Authorisation relevant checked in the 'Business Explorer' tab. There is a variable used for this comopany code in the query design and this variable is processed by authorisation. But i dont think this is the reason for the issue. If this is the reason could you please tell me how it effects? Please suggest me the solution.

In the business explorer tab for which one you are asking to change the settings?
Is it for   'query def. filter value selection'
                          OR
             'query execution filter value selection'?
The current status is:
Query Def. filter value selection is 'values in Master data table'                 &
Query Execution filter value selection is 'only posted values for navigation'.
This is not cube but this is ODS. For ODS where do we set DB specfic settings?

I found out that if my info-object A has a input-ready variable in a query,after the query running,in the selection screen,my info-object A's F4 value is follow the setting of "Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn",as the setting of "Query Def. Filter Value Selection" I tried every diff setting, it won't effect my query anyway.
so:
1.what's the exact difference between "Query Def. Filter Value Selection" and "Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn" in info-object's "Business explorer" tab?
2.how they effect query's presentation?
I searched forum,didn't find the answer what I want.

I will try to explain it again.
Query Def. Filter Value Selection : Let say the value is set to "Only Values in Infoprovider"
Lets take an example infoobject - 0MATERIAL (Material)
Total material records in material Master = 1000 (master Data table /BI0/PMATERIAL)
You create a query on top of an Infoprovider using Material.
Total unique materials in Infoprovider= 500.
Now when you are in design mode in Query Designer, and you try to restrict Material by few materials (for e.g. 1, 2, and 3), for this you right click on material and select Restrict, the pop-up opens with list of materials, this list is all those 500 materials which are in the infoprovider, because the setting is "Only Values in Infoprovider". Which means then when you are trying to restrict a characterstic in query definition the list of values displayed for restricition is derived from Infoprovider.
Query Execution Filter Value Selection - I think you already know what it is , its the read mode for F4 help selection.

Application adding '\' to the group filter

Hi,
We have two groups created in Oracle Internet Directory server.here are the details
cn=user_group_1,cn=organisation,cn=groups,dc=oracle,dc=com
cn=user_group_2,cn=organisation,cn=groups,dc=oracle,dc=com
we are using the below configurations from our portal to pull the users from the above two groups,but we couldn't do that.
Group Path = cn=organisation,cn=groups,dc=oracle,dc=com
Group scope = SUB_TREE
Group Filter = (cn=user_*)
I am getting an error with above configurations and error message saying that "Please make sure Group path is correct".But the Group path is correct.Our LDAP admin said that my portal itself adding '\' to the group filter.
Below is the request comes to LDAP server.
ldapsearch -h ldap_server_name -p 636 -U 1 -b "cn=organisation,cn=groups,dc=oracle,dc=com" "(&(objectclass=groupofuniquenames)(cn=user\_*))"
Please let us know how can i remove this '\' at portal level (or) how can i handle at LDAP server level.

It seems that it is not allowing _ .
Whenever some special characters comes then it add \ in front of it.
It happens in OIM but that is Java so we can handle.

Getting a "Displaying only the newest results below. To view all results, narrow your query by adding a filter" message in error

I have a list with almost 10000 items. I have a view that should be returning 8 items. For me, the Farm Admin, I see the full set of expected values. The message "Displaying only the newest results below. To view all results, narrow your query by
adding a filter" shows for other users. This makes no sense -
there ARE filters on this view. I'd rather not increase the throttle limit.

Check that the list is not scoped by an audience; but, I'm afraid that either way admin, (e.g. non Farm admin or site collection admin)
I'd recommend exporting to excel, create two new spreadsheets and then import as custom lists.

These are the Steps to Implement Data Filtering in ALE.
Filter Objects: These are the Fields based on which you define The Conditon.
For eg: Matnr, Mtart...
1. Create a Filter Object (If it is not available for ur Requirement)
   Tcode: BD59
   New Entries:
   ALE Filter Object type : MBRSH (Industry Sector)
   Segment type : E1MARAM
   Segment field : MBRSH
   Save.
2. Link the ALE Filter Object type to the Table field in DDIC
    Tcode: BD95
    New Enries:
    ALE Filter Object type : MBRSH (Industry Sector)
    Table Name : MARA
    Table field : MBRSH
    Save
3. Creating Data filtering using this Filter Object type
    Tcode: BD64.
    Expand ur Model view.
    Under the Message Type MATMAS
    Double click on No Data filter / Data filter Active.
    Create a Filter Group.
    It will list out all the Filter Objects of the Message type:
    (you should find the New filter Object type)
   Double Click on the Filter Object type MBRSH .
   Assign the Filter values
   Save.

TableView Filter doesnu00B4t work for added columns

In my model I have a column type SPRAS with a language key, but I want to render the language text so in the iterator I added a new column (hiding the one with the lang key), and I fill this new column with the following code:
DATA: lang_txt TYPE string.
DATA: lang_key LIKE sy-langu.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs> LIKE model->client.
ASSIGN p_row_data_ref->* TO <fs>.
lang_key = <fs>-spras.
SELECT SINGLE sptxt FROM t002t INTO lang_txt
       WHERE spras = sy-langu
       AND   sprsl = lang_key.
p_replacement_bee = cl_htmlb_textview=>factory(
       id = p_cell_id
       text = lang_txt ).
It works good, but the problem comes because filtering doesn´t work with this column.
Adding a new column to the model would be a solution but I don´t like it very much, it´d be better to solve this problem here in a class associated with the view/rendering od the data instead of changing the model.

You can't use a column for filtering which isn't acutally present in your table. With an iterator you only control/change the rendering of your tableview, but the table data stays the same. (Unless you change the data, which would make the iterator useless?) You can not filter values that are not present in your table.
So, if you want to filter an iterator-changed column, make sure the column contains data to sort/filter, and also provide a way for the user to be able to use the filter (as it doesn't make much sense to enter a filter value when the displayed data does not correspond to the table data.
Have a look at this thread, it describes how you can add a dropdown to your filter:

Now if you alter this dropdown generating code to use your descriptive text (that you use in your iterator for display in column) as dropdown display values, then you should have a working filter for your tableview.

Filter value selection in Queries takes a long time

Hello BW gurus....
I have a problem here. When a user tries to run a consolidated query it takes a long time. what are some of the performance tuning that can be done. My other issue is that once the query is run and the user tries to change the filter values say hes trying to restrict Cons group it takes like 30 min for the options to come up or even more than that and eventually fails. Is there any thing which i can do to improve the performance of these filter value selection option. we are on portal EP 6.0. I know this has nothing to do with interface but the crux of the problem is in the back end.

The Only Posted Values in Navigation generates a query that must examine most to your cube to find all filter options that correspond to your query. If the cube is large and you don't have much in the way of other restrictions, this can take a while. The benefit of this option is that the user is only presented with filter options that are in the domain they are interested in.
If you switch to either of the other options, the filter options are quickly deteremined by examing either the dimension or master table. The downside is that those filter options may not be in the data the your query would exclude, e.g.
Lets say you have a query on Bus Area and Cost Center.
- Master Data for Cost Centers = 0001 - 9999
- Cost Centers in your data are 0001 - 2999
- Only Cost Centers 1000 - 1099 in Bus Area 10.
If you have an input variable to select only Bus Area = 10 and run the query, then want to filter on Cost Center:
- with Only Values in Navigation, the user would only see Cost Centers 1000 - 1099 in the filter selection list.
- with Only Values in InfoProvider, the user would see Cost Centers 1000 - 2999.
- with Only Values in Master Data, user would see 0001 - 9999.
This may or may not be acceptable. If a user chooses Cost Center 2000, the query would copme back with No Available Data since ther are not transaction with Bus Area = 10 and Cost Center 2000.
Now lets say you are using CALMONTH, chances are the user would understand that if they select a November of 2006 while in August, they wouldn't get any data. They might understand what Cost Centers to expect back in Bus Area 10, but they may not be as familiar with all the values for all Characteristics.
Like everything else, there are pros + cons.

Select Filter Value

This is an on-going performance issue that I am bogged down with. The best idea would definitely get 10 points and all the other great ideas will be well rewarded for sure! Please help...
The reports on our system run very slow (15 minutes on the average) though our cube has just about 10 million records. What bothers the user the most is that even when they go for "select filter value" on any of the "free characteristics", it takes 10 lazy minutes for the selection screen to show up. We have indices created on the master data and the SAP indices on the Cube dimensions are supposed to be good enough for faster query/selection screen retreival especially when the number of records are just 10 million. RSRV test came out to be fine on DB and cube indices. Any great ideas to improve the time it takes to bring up the selection screen?
Regarding the general query performance, we already have query cache and several aggregates in place. We use BEx, so how effective are the reporting agents on top of these? Please provide some knowledgeable comments to improve the general query performace as well.

The Select Filter Value time almost certainly has to do with the F4 options you have set for those InfoObjects. You can change this for the the InfoObject, or change the setting just for the cube using the Structure Specifc Settings.
Depending on the setting, using F4 for an InfoObject may simply read the Master Data, or it actually interrogates the the master data and the cube to see what values exist, or actually looks to see what values would be available given all the other query criteria. So as you can imagine, the response time of the options can vary a lot.
As far as query performance in general, try searching this forum, you'll find lots of threads. Also try SDN's Performance Tuning Knowledge Center.
I'm assuming you regularly compress the cube(s). Have you verified the aggregates are being used most of the time and confirmed the the value of the aggregate by comparing explain plans.
A lot of issues may relate back to the data model you are using. You can look at adding secondary indices on some of the dimension tables of you have some large dimensions that get receive full table scans because the BW system built index does not relate well to the query restrictions that are actually used.

Multiple combination of filter values - Please help

We have a query with three filters. One for Sold-To (with optional entry) and another for Ship-To (with optional entry). The thrid filter condition is based on cal month/year.
Now, the user wants the following way ( and they don't want to use the single values or ranges from the filter options)
First filter condition - Sold -To (ABCD) and Ship To (EFGH)
Second filter condition - Sold -To (JKLM) and Ship To (NOPQ)
Third...
Fourt....
Fifth......
upto 10 filter conditions..
With the common Cal month/year filter.
How can we achieve this? Advance Thanks.

What you have to do is create a structure
In you first selection you take the SOLD TO and restrict to the value ABC then you take the SHIP TO and restrict the DEF then take the KF required.
In your next selection you do the same but with SOLD TO value GHI and SHIP TO value JKL and same KF and so on for the following selections.
The cal month year can be added too either through variable (in that case the selected period will applies to the whole query) or by restricting its value just like SOLD TO and SHIP TO.
You can not make multiple selection through variable unless you re run your query and change the value of those varaibles.
Another way is to display all possible combinations of SOLD TO and SHIP TO but I'd rather go for the first solution with the structure ... that will work fine

How remove the values which are entered in filter attributes of VO

Hi,
On top of one VO we are performing search using bind variables.
To refine the search we have added filterable="true".
Now when we perform seach and then we have filtered using one column we got result and we proceeded.
When we come to this screen again when i perform search with the bindvariable and click on search then the previously applied filter is also getting applied
becuase the value in that filter is still there.
So How can i remove the value which is entered in filter attribute of the VO programatically.
Please help me.

Passing Dynamic Filter values to Web template in VC

Iam working with a Web Template (which is created using WAD) in Visual Composer Model
I have an input screen ( Variables Form )in VC Iview which has Fiscal Year, Quarter, week and other input fields which need to be entered by a user.
This variables are passed to a couple of queires. Also i have a requirement to pass the same vvariable values to Web template also ( WAD)
I have created a HTML iview in VC Dashboard.and in URL i gave the below URL which is working fine

How to access sort direction and filter value of columns? Can I catch the 'filtered' or 'sorted' event?

We have some columns being added to a table. We have set the sortProperty and the filterProperty on each of our columns.
This allows us to both filter and sort.
We want to be able to access the columns filter value and sort value after the fact. Can we access the table and then the columns and then a columns properties to find these two items? How can I access the sort direction and filter value of columns?
We would also like to store the filter value and the sort direction, and re-apply them to the grid if they have been set in the past. How can we dynamically set the filter value and sort direction of a column?
Can I catch or view the 'filtered' or 'sorted' event? We would like to look at the event that occurs when someone sorts or filters a column. Where can I see this event or where can i tie into it, without overwriting the base function?

Just wanted to share how I implemented this:
Attach a sort event handler to table - statusReportTable.attachSort(SortEventHandler);
In this event handler, grab the sort order and sorted column name then set cookies with this info

Restrict filter values that are shown in the selection screen

Hi Experts
1) Is it possible to restrict the filter values that are shown in the selection screen in BEx web? When a user are asked to enter a material number and uses the selection button in BEx web, he should only see material numbers for one specific plant. How is this done?
2) Is it possible to remove the selection button for å characteristic filter in the selection screen in BEx web? The selection button I am talking about is the button to the right of where you enter the filter value (two white papers on top of each other). If there is no solution for question 1 we have to go for question 2 solution.
We are using BI 04s, SP 09.

Hi Erik,
It seems that you would like the user to see value for 1 single plant. If the Plant Value is fixed then you can use this value in the Query and hardcode it.> in the query go to the Plant Chrac and keep a constant value of the Plant.
How ever if you need this value to be dynamic then use a variable for customer exit and populate this value using ABAP.
