Filtering an array of wave forms

Hi,
I'm new to labview and I'm trying to use butterworth filter on signals i'm acquiring through DAQ device. SO here's the problem: when I connect this array to the filter it doesn't show anything. when I try to use GET WAVEFORM COMPONENT it causes an error that says there is a mismatch of the types . so how can I use a filter for this signal?
regards
erfan

Hi erfan,
there are NO waveforms in your picture.
Why do you even think you can use the GetWaveformComponents function here?
when I connect this array to the filter it doesn't show anything.
What is the error output of the filter function?
Best regards,

  • Multi plot wave form chart

i am acquiring 16 channels simultaniously scan rate of 1000samples/second.  using chart with single channel (array of data format) i can see 10 sec duration. with multiplot view of least 4 channel i used waveform property but this will not getting 10 sec duration of x. this is showing just like a graph.
how to show my multiplot at least channel in one chart with continous updation....?

i am trying to show the 4 channels of with 1000samples/second. even i am using the chart. i can see only 1 secon of data.
if i try with single channel array of data with out using wave form property with  chart i can see 5 minutes of updattion.
how to see multiple plot atleast 4 channel with 5 minutes of duration?

  • Can not see wave form in arrange window  logic 9 Please help

I have been using Logic for 3 months now...mostly just importing old wave files from past protools sessions.  Everything was working fine until I created a new session to record audio.  I record the audio at a nice level...I hit playback...I can hear it fine but I can't see the wave forms.  I can see it in the sample editor.  I've searched around and found the same problem in the past on some forums......they say to trash preferences...  I went to my mac drive...library...preferences  and nothing  I have no files labeled  com.apple.logic.pro  now I'm lost....the funny thing is... when I zoom in horizontal ...the wave form shows but it makes the track way too large.  Any help would be great.  Thanks

    In Logic:  Preferences/Audio
What is the "Recording Delay" parameter set to?
It should be zero, default is zero. If it's set to a positive or negative Logic will often not show the wavforms. If that's it, it's one of the long standing bugs in Logic.

  • How can I measure the hertz in a wave form?

How can I measure the hertz in a wave form?

As an example, this is from BBC Technical Requirements for HD material:
    3.1.1 Stereo line-up tones
All stereo tracks must use EBU 1KHz tone (left ident). All tones must be sinusoidal, free of distortion and phase coherent between channels.
Digital Audio Reference level is defined as 18dB below the maximum coding value (-18dBFS) as per EBU recommended practice R68.
    See also:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/guidelines/dq/pdf/tv/tv_delivery_to_network_programmes_v1.2-2011.pdf
    for full document.
    And for BBC Radio:
Not every Network requires tone. Check the delivery requirements with the commissioning network or click here.
Reference tone, where used, should be at -18dBFS or PPM 4 on A, B and/or M.
If submitting material with reference tone, tone and programme material must be have been monitored and measured through the same technical chain. The level of the tone must be equivalent to 0dBu and no less than 8dB below peak audio level for the programme material.
THE LEVEL OF TONE MUST HAVE A KNOWN RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LEVEL OF THE PROGRAMME MATERIAL AND THIS MUST BE STATED; for example: “Tone at 8dB below peak programme level”.
As a newcomer to digital sound (my background is camera) I confess to being somewhat confused. We are normally told to record at the highest level possible. So for voice podcasts I tend to record at about -6dB below peak for maximum volume, distributeds on MP3 files.
But I can underatand that televison and radio especially for analogue transmission) may have limited headroom, hence the requirement for -18dB peak = 0dBM.
I remember when we first rented out Digital Betacam cameras, some recordists were recording almost everything OVER -18dBM.
I suspect that until we have an all-digital world, these requiremnents will still be in place.
Many thanks to all. It's a ghreat community!

  • Possible to Adjust Selection to Wave Form in EM?

Is there a quick way to adjust the time slection (not clip) to the ends of a wave form?  I work with long audio files that contain multiple short bits of audio.  I usually end up "saving my selection as" for the individual wave forms to create new smaller files.  But even using AutoMark, ai frequently get a bit more silence before or after the audio that I want.  It would be helpful if I could drag to select the audio, and automatically have the ends of the highlighted time selection snap to the beginning and end of the audio.  It seems like it should be simple, but I couldn't find it in the help function or on a search of the forum.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

<If you are talking about Edit View, then the little yellow triangles/handles at the top and bottom of each end of the selection can be dragged, altering the selection accordingly. Zoom in for more accuracy>
    Steve,
Thanks for the reply.  That's is my current method.  But it requires me to manipulate each selection manually.  I'm looking for a way to automate that to save time.  I do it hundreds of times per project.  Mainly I use the auto-mark function combined with the Marker List window.  But I also find myself having to select/copy/paste/combine bits of audio to create the 2-5 second blurbs I need, and when that happens it would save time if I could just click a single button and have the little yellow triangles move automatically to the start and end of an audio blob.
Is there a way to do that that you know of?  It would seem to me that since several features in AA can automatically detect signal thresholds (i.e. the Auto-Mark feature almost does exactly what I want...it just doesn't actually select the audio), this would be a no-brainer.  That's what makes me think I just am not finding something obvious.
    Thanks!
    Ryan

  • I am having trouble with the handle bars for music fade in and fade out.  It doesn't work.  I also cannot see wave forms for music.   Cannot select - it is grey.  On a deadline and really having problems.

I am trying to finish a video and I want to fade the music in and out.  I have read every tutorial I can get and the help info in iMovie.  Nothing helsp.   I cannot get it to fade by just sliding the handle bars.   Other times, the music mutes completely when I try to add a fade.   I try to view wave forms for music and it does not allow me to select .   it remains grey.   I am getting frustrated.  I had no problem with 11 version.   I now have 10.0.2 version.   Can anyone help?   my computer is latest Mac Book Pro 2013

    This is described in:
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov3b5ded23e
A tip though - if you have a transition at the start or end of a clip it often obscures the fade handle.  Trick is to temporarly move the transition (or delete it), move the fade handle then replace the transition.

  • Control 4 axis by one wave form

    Hi
Now I try to control 4 axis stepper motor using one sinusoidai wave form.
At first I could program for one axis attached with this mail.
I try to develop this program for 4 axis, but I am stacking to do.
So would you give me a sugestion how to do.
    Please let me know.

You know this process would be a lot easier if you just gave us a complete picture of what you are trying to do and the problems you are having. Do you have any code written?
    Mike...
finally i have five stepper motors for cartesian robot 5 degrees of freedom x,y,z,Pitch and Yaw. robot will paint several bodies using prependicuar angle of nozzle on object surface with offset 30 cm. the main task of YAW and PITCH is to maitain the prependicular angle.
i have to insert 3D file of object as i have 5 products and select between them using Front panel.
can we use .VI file synchronized with 3D Motion control(X,Y,Z) to control YAW and PITCH?
what's the esaiest method to accomplish my task??
    special thanks for your attention.

  • Can't see wave form after recording...

After I record audio, the wave form (view) goes flat line like I recorded silence. It still plays the audio, but I cant see it to edit it.
How do I see it again?

In all likelihood you have the recording delay setting,  set to something other than zero......
    no waveform

  • View audio wave form in A1 and A2 etc in the timeline instead of the Viewer

It's likely this is an amateur question buuut -
Is there anyway to get the audio wave form to show in the Audio layers in the timeline. The only way I've seen to adjust and play with audio is when I double click on one of the tracks and then the audio tab in the viewer will open. I want to be able to see waveform in the timeline and then add or remove markers and adjust from the timeline -
There's got to be some way to adjust audio and play and stop so that you can watch the video and hear audio changes as you tweak it at the same time.

    SEQUENCE--> SHOW AUDIO WAVEFORMS

  • No wave form showing in regions

I recently have the problem that when I record my guitar signal thru my audio interface (tc near or Guitar Rig 3) the wave form of the recording doesn't show in the region.
When I open the sample editor I can see the waveform.
As soon as i change the level of the signal in the sample editor (make it higher OR lower) boom, the wave form shows in the region. Does anybody have a clue?

    Thanx for the replay!
to set the recording delay to 0 did the trick, even though I have no idea how it ended up on a value of 677!!
I've set it previously to the proper value which I figured out learning from the fantastic videos by MacProVideo.com.
The proper procedure is shown in video Nr. 18 from "Logic's Latency toolbox".
You can find the particular video also on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQUngLB5mWg
I can really recommend the Logic series from MacProVideo.com

  • I have generated two square wave forms using NI-9221. These two Square waveforms are suppose to be 90 degrees electrical from one another.

I have two square wave forms from an encoder wheel. I can not seem to generate or calculate the phase of the waveforms. I have tried to extract the data but it is not accurate? I can not use a true false statement with the extracted data either. I have to have the one waveform 90 degrees electrical from the other waveform. Any Suggestions?

Fist thank you both for responding so quickly. I am using a half encoder wheel and the waveforms are certainly show the phases correctly.  The operator of this program will not have access to the graph only the data and measurements collected. The reason I am trying to get the phase is because that is going to be a major factor in if the board passes or fails. I extracted the phases from the waveforms but it’s not accurate at all. I think I may try to trigger when to measure the wave and when to stop measuring. Is that Possible?

  • OS X - Audio Wave Form Disappears

    OS X 10.10.2
    Premiere v. 2014.2
In every project I start I notice that the audio wave form that displays in the timeline, after Premiere conforms the audio, disappears depending on where I have the scroll bar in the timeline. This only happens when I create a multicam clip with two or more cams. I can also pin-point when it happens. If I scroll to the end of the timeline that I placed the clip in as soon as the end of the clip enters the current timeline field of view the wave forms will disappear. I took a video to show exactly what happens.
I understand that I am going to have to submit a bug report, but I want to know if 1) anyone else is experiencing this or can reproduce it and 2) if there is a way to fix it. Right now the only workaround for me is to Render and Replace the audio for every multicam clip I make. When I do that the wave forms seems to display correctly, but I would rather not have to do that every time I use a multicam clip.
I figure if others experience this and we all submit a bug report the odds of it getting fixed will increase.

I'm going to bump this. Is anyone else even experiencing this or able to reproduce it?

  • Importing audio in Flash CC - No sound or wave forms

So I am having an issue when I try to import audio to the library. In the library the file name shows but when I click on it it shows no wave form. No audio will play when testing or on timeline. File works perfectly fine in CS6. I can copy it from the library in CS6 and paste it into CC's library and it works fine. Any ideas?

Just curious, do you have Quicktime installed and is it updated?
Are you on a 32bit or 64bit OS?
Only reason I ask is CS6 is 32bit and CC is 64bit.

  • Can I get the audio wave form to show in the Timeline?

Can I get the audio wave form to show in the Timeline?
    Thanks / Christer

    Yes Christer.
At the bottom left corner , under the audio timelines you will see a tiny black triangle.
Click it and from the contextual menu that appears select "Show Audio Waveforms".

  • Audio wave form not showing up properly in Viewer (FCP 7 running Lion)

For some reason when I bring in my audio timeline into the Viewer to see the wave form it does not show up accurately.  I used to be able to pull it up and fairly easily see each location we hit the clapper.  Now the clapper spike does not show up until I zoom almost all the way in on the wave form.  That's a TOTAL PAIN since you only see a few frames at a time.  Not good when you've got a couple of hours of audio on that time line with 30 or 40 clapper locations to find.  It's funny, it shows an actual flat spot until you ZOOM WAY IN on it, then you see the spike.  This seemed to start happening shortly after installing Lion.  I am not for sure that's what is happening, but has just never happened before.
