Filtering members in IS

Hello,
We have to implement P&L Planning where the important dimensions are u2013 Company Code, Cost Center & Account.
The req is that we have following relationships defined
1.     Company Code and Account (Many to Many) u2013 coming from ECC
2.     Company Code and Cost Center (One to Many) u2013 coming from ECC
3.     Cost Center and Account (Many to Many) u2013 should be maintained in BPC. We have one IS for this.
Now, in the P&L Input Schedule when user selects a company code and cost center only those accounts should appear in the rows that are assigned to the selected cost center as per the relationship no. 3.
We canu2019t make use of property for Account member look-up, as the 3rd relationship is many to many.
Can you advice how we can implement the filter in Input Schedule based on 3rd relation?
Regards,
Deepti

What about using the SharePoint membership webpart?

I think it is still available in the My Site in 2013 ;)

  • Filtering members - issue

Dear all,<BR>I am Prasanna.<BR>I had creatred few filters on members and created group for those filters then alloted those filters to the groups.<BR>Then created the user then alloted the user to group(not all group).<BR>Now when i check the data in the excel sdd in, it showing the data for all members, its not saying NO ACCESS.<BR>Here the steps i did<BR>1) created filter (using idescendents)<BR>2) created the groups and assigned the members.here applications were selected with filter option and the respective filters<BR>3) Created the users and assigned them to groups.<BR><BR>But i am not getting what will be the issue, that enables to show all members, even though i am allocating few groups.<BR><BR>For user there is no specific access to the application/DB is given.<BR><BR>Please help me!!!!!!

The first thing I would check is that the application/database has none set for it's default access. If it is set to read or higher, it would over rule the filer access. Then I would double check the filter I would create a test user and assign filter access with that filter on the database and check in excel that the filter does what you expect it to. Often, there are mistakes in filters that give a lot more access than expected

  • FR Report security not filtering members

I am building FR reports on 11.1.2.2 against a Planning database connection and as I test an end user account, the entire Entity dimension hierarchy appears for the user when he goes into the Entity point of view selection, even through he's setup to access only a few members. In our previous Hyperion versions, the list of entities would be filtered out for only what the user has access to. Does anyone know why this is the case?

Check this post by CL Cameron's Blog For Essbase Hackers: Fixing Planning's Filters
By default Planning creates the filters as read only, however it gets displayed in planning differently (similar to a metaread filter). So if you want to replicate the Planning behavior then you'll have to re-create the filters.

  • Filtering by member properties

    Hi,
I built a input schedule and i want filtering members by properties. I tried from the member lookup from the Current View, clicking in the dimension. I select the property value, flag the mark "use the filter" and i press "refresh". Well i've the members who fulfil this property. But what should i do if i want show only these members in my input schedule. Because if i've an expansion with "member set" = self or members it ignores the filter and show me the self member or all the members.
    Thanx in advance.

    Jose,
I hope I understand your question correctly.
You may concatenate the filter of the memberset; let me give you an example:
in the memberset you may create a formula like:
    ="type="""&A50&""""
than in cell a50 an enduser can enter an F or H or G (you have to unlock cell a50)
you could also create a nice dropdown box where an enduser can select F/H/G en link that to cell a50.
    Hope this helps,
    Alwin

  • Filtered member roll-up

Hi,We have created a filter based on an Attribute dimension. The attribute dimension has various department manager names as attribute members and is associated to a Dimension called Department. When a user, usually a manager, is assigned to this filter, he/she would be able to see his/her departments at the lowest level. Is there a way to roll up these filtered members so that when the user logs in, what he/she first sees is the rollup number of the filtered departments? Thanks for any helpful advice!htao1

    Hi,
I was thinking about the scenario that you have put forward.
    Clarification 1:
Based on your description i have just put below how your outline looks like:
    Measures
    .... BoxesSold (=PcsOrdered/PcsPerBox)
    ........ PcsPerBox(~)
    ........ PcsOrdered(~)
    Products
    .... A(+)
    .... B(+)
    .... C(+)
    Customers
    .... One(+)
    .... Two(+)
    .... Three(+)
Please verify and correct me if i have got a wrong picture of the outline. Please check the operators too.
    Clarification 2:
    You also say that for
    Customers(one+two+three) --&gt;Product A PcsPerBox is coming to 150 ( is wrong)
    and
Customers(one+two+three) --&gt;Product A PcsOrdered is coming to 75 (is correct assunming each customer had 25 each for PcsOrdered)
Please give your comments on each of the clarification.

  • Exchange 2010 dynamic distribution group - too many entries in results

    Hi
I've inherited some dynamic groups that were created on exchange 2003 [about 50 groups]. When I run the following query I seem to get far too many users returned [looking via ADUC the group should have 2 users]. How can I ensure I get the correct results?
    Get-Recipient -RecipientPReviewFilter (Get-DynamicDistributionGroup -Identity "All Staff IT").LDAPRecipientFilter | Select Name,PrimarySMTPAddress

  • Is conditional prompt possible with SAP BO AO Excel?

    Hi folks,
Is conditional prompt possible i.e the "prompt" should appear only when the measure is used in the report?
Is this kind of feature possible with SAP BO AO on HANA?
    Regards,
    Krishna Tangudu

    Could you clarify?
    Do you mean conditional formatting?
If against HANA, I am not sure as the SAP help doesn't specifically mention it:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/AMS14/en/14SP7_aaoffice_user_en.pdf
See page 141 - Source: SAP help
    SAP HANA data sources
With SAP HANA data sources, you can use the following Analysis functions to analyze your data:
    ● Inserting a crosstab with SAP HANA data
You can also insert more than one data source in a workbook.
    ● Saving/Opening a workbook to/from the business intelligence platform server
    ● Undo/Redo
    ● Defining style sets for crosstabs
    ● Swapping axes
    ● Analyzing data with the design panel

  • Calculated measure with condition on 2 date dimensions

    Hi,
I built a cube which has 2 different time dimensions, let's say Time1 and Time2 (which both have 2 levels : Year and month), and a measure we'll call measure1.
I would like to define a new measure as a calculated member, that would sum the values of measure1 only where Time1 <= Time2.
Should I write it in SQL, the query would be :
    SELECT Sum(measure1)
    FROM table
    WHERE Time1 <= Time2
Seems to me that it would be an easy thing to do, but as a beginner with MDX I can't find anything that seems to work consistently.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

When you expect to filter time like Time1 <= Time2,  you can do it in MDX if it is from the same dimension and same attribute using the range operator ":".
But when it is different dimension you can achieve the same by filtering members from the dimensions.  Select all members from dimension1 and dimension2 that you want to analyse, no need of creating new measure.
Theoretically speaking member x1 from dimenion1 is not same as member y1 from dimension2 and you cannot filter x1 on the basis of the y1.
Since I don't know exactly what is your scenario is, alternate approach is as below. It is a sample query, where I am expecting goods to be delivered the same day it is shipped.
    with member [measures].[ship date] as Int([Ship Date].[Date].currentmember.Member_Key)
    member [measures].[delivery date] as Int([Delivery Date].[Date].currentmember.Member_Key)
    member [measures].[late shipping] as iif([measures].[delivery date]>[measures].[ship date],[Measures].[Sales Amount],0)
    select {[Measures].[Sales Amount],[measures].[late shipping],[measures].[ship date],[measures].[delivery date]} on 0,
    non empty{[Delivery Date].[Date].[Date]*[Ship Date].[Date].[Date]} on 1
    from (
    select ([Delivery Date].[Date].&[20030713],[Ship Date].[Date].&[20030708]) on 0
    from [Step-by-Step])

  • G&A Planning input schedule

    Hi Gurus,
I know that I am posting a simple but I need the solution from your end.
I have requirement to prepare the Input schedule for G&A Planning.
    - Row Axis - Account with GL codes
    - Column Axis - Time Dimension
Requirement - Here user wants to get only those cost center having connection with the relevant GL Accounts only
Example : Cost Center 123 is being used in GL Accounts Professional serv, BPO Services and Travel. when the user planning for G&A he/she needs to plan for that particular accounts only.
How can I achieve this task.
Your comments will he really helpful.
    Thanks,
    Satish

    Hello,
One possible way to do this is to add a property in cost center that can hold the value of the relevant GL account.  When you create the input schedule you place CostCenter dimension in page axis and select dimension members by filtering on the GL property.  Assuming each cost center maps to only one GL account you should be able to use this method.
Using this method you can limit the scope of what shows by the filler value. The only limitation to this is that as of now you can only filter by actual property values so changing the context will not change the filtered members.

  • Generating docs of specific methods only

    Folks i have two questions
    1. I have a project in which the directory structure is as follows
    src/mpi
    src/mpjdev
    src/runtime
    src/mpjbuf
Now i want to generate the javadocs of src/mpi only. How can we do it? What if i want that i want to exlude some files from the src/mpi package. Please provide some snippets
    2. Now after generating the "selected" javadocs of src/mpi, i want to go one step further. There are many methods in the class of which i donot want the javadocs to be generated. Same applies for many fields. What can i do in the source files so that the javadocs of only those methods should get generated which i want and not of all the methods and fields....
    Can any one help?

First off, I want to mention that the [Javadoc Tool Homepage|http://java.sun.com/j2se/javadoc/] is a very good place to read up on Javadoc features and configuration.

Please provide some snippetsWell, basically javadoc supports explicitly specifying source files that should be documented. E.g. if there a three source filessrc/mpi/A.java
    src/mpi/B.java
src/mpi/C.javaand you only want to document A and B you could invoke javadoc from the command line the following wayjavadoc -d doc/api src/mpi/A.java src/mpi/B.java(with -d doc/api specifying the destination of the generated documentation files). Of course, this approach is quite unwieldly as the number of files in a project grows. Fortunately, there are many build tools that provide a more convenient way to specify "filesets". E.g. ANT's Javadoc task supports an inclusion/exclusion mechanism for source files:<target name="javadoc-sample>
      <javadoc destdir="doc/api">
        <fileset dir="src" defaultexcludes="yes">
          <include name="mpi/**/*.java"/>
          <exclude name="**/C.java"/>
        </fileset>
      </javadoc>
</target>For more information on ANT see [http://ant.apache.org/].

For information on these options see [http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/tooldocs/windows/javadoc.html#javadocoptions]. If you need to filter members on some other criteria (e.g. never display methods whose name starts with "test" regardless of visibility), then you will have to use some other tool. yWorks' yDoc, for example, is a commercial Javadoc extension that allows users to exclude members from documentation by adding a special Javadoc tag to the corresponding documentation comment but also allows for sophisticated custom filtering.

  • Filtering cost center members in HFR point of view

Is it possible to setup a Hyperion Financial Report to filter members of a Cost Center dimension so that users only see in the POV member selection the members they have been provisioned access to? I have a cost center dimension of over 1000 cost centers, yet the POV does not filter out only the members applicable to my end user's provisioned access. For example, my Finance manager sees the entire cost center hierarchy, yet I only want him to see his few cost centers. Any suggestions?

It can be done with an essbase connection but you have to update the filters created to change from read to metaread or duplicate the read row and make it metaread, not a nice process but it can be achieved.
I still don't understand why metaread has not been implemented with planning filters.
    Cheers

  • Excluding Members in Security Filters

I need to give read access to all members of a dimension (Scenario) except for a certain roll-up (Statistics Scenarios) in that dimension.
How do I write that? Is the following correct?
    @Remove(@Relative(Scenario,0), @Relative("Statistics Scenarios",0))
    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, I don't have access to use this functionality as I only write the requirement with the Essbase syntax and then, pass this to the IT team who creates the filter.^^^I don't envy you one little bit.
Also, the "verify" function will only confirm this is correct syntax but not really confirm it meets our requirement...^^^If it syntax checks, it's almost a dead cert that it works.

  • WMI filtering / GPO for non domain members

    Hi all,
Our customer make use of a Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS. We use some thin clients and win7 workstations to connect with it inside our domain.
We had a policy for automatic screen lock and secure with password, but they doesnt want to use it anymore for the users who's working internally. So i disabled this policy.
What they want is a policy for all homeworkers or users connecting from an internet cafe or something. So if they are not connecting from a specific subnet or domain, the screens have to lock automatically after a few minutes.
Does anyone know how i can do this? Do i have to create a WMI filter for computers which are not domain members or do i have to do this for a specific subnet?
    Thanks!
    Kind regards, Raymond

I thought I should clarify this based on your question:
You say you want filtering based on "non-domain users".  Are you saying you have users connecting in that are not using AD accounts?  How are you doing this?  Are they using local accounts on the server?
How are you allowing non-domain accounts to connect? Where are the accounts defined?
Maybe you really are asking qabout domain users connecting from the WAN and not from the LAN.  Is that what you are trying to ask?
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Filtering large number of members

    Hi:
I have a dimension (D1) which has a large number of members, currently 40K and I expect it to grow.
I have another dimension (D2), has about 1400 members which is also a property of D1 and this is an authorization object. Each user has access to a either 2 or 3 members. When the users login and open any schedule, they are restricted to only the authorized members.
In my Evdre, I need the users to enter data by D1 and so I filter D1 based on which D2 member is selected. This works fine, however, it takes a very long time to expand on open the schedule.
Any idea how the filtering takes place? Where does this filtering take place - server or client?
Is there any options to improve the performance?
    Thanks,
    Subramania

    Hi Subramania,
While getting data from data base, bpc dosenot filter at the database level. It will retrive all the member's from the back end and will filter at the client side using excel funtionality.
As of my knowledge, for now, bpc doesnt support filtering at data base level.
Hope some one else can help in How to improve performance?

  • Filtering groups, grabbing group members and removing duplicates

I need to notify users by mail, about a maintenance
I have several groups names with similar names (GRP_APP1, GRP_APP2 and GRP_APP3)
I need to extract a list of mail addresses form theses grups members, remove duplicates and send mail to then
The logic will be sometinh like that:
    1) List all grupos with similar naming scheme
    2) List all mail addresses of people that are members of the group
    3) Remove duplicated information, because one user can be member of more than one group
    4) Optionally send mail to the users

    Okay, so what's your question?
