Filtering messages on N70

hey is there a way i can filter messages into defferent folders on an N70?

Hey Souza,
Sorry to tell you I never found a solution. Withjout doubt the N70 was the worst phone I ever had. I was stuck with for 2 years on a network provider conract too.
Problems as stated with mms, constant reboots during calls or sending an sms, etc.
Personally I thinl the we were all Guinea pigs with the early N models.
Luckily my contact ran out last month and now using N95 8GB. Not a problem so far
SO maybe the answer to your question is yes, they have fixed the problem, it's called the N95.
Sorry the news isn't better.

    good day!
    i need help...
does anyone know what to do to enable the function of IM (instant messaging)for N70?
when i try to to open it, it ask me to define a server,
it is asking to fill up the following:
    1. server name:
    2. access point:
    3. web address:
    4. user id:
    5. password:
i do not know what to provide on 1 to 3.
can any one help me about this matter?
    thank you!
    looking forward for your response
    respectfully yours,
    mark palma

The IM application in the N70 connects only to IM services implementing the, so called, Wireless Village IM specification by OMA (Open Mobile Alliance).
The only service I know that supports it is http://www.yamigo.com
However, your network operator could also be running a compatible service, so call them and ask for the settings (or check their web site).
The IM app cannot be used to connect directly to MSN, Yahoo!, AOL or ICQ (as they have their own IM protocols/mechanisms, and are not using Wireless Village IM). If you want to connect to those IM services, you need to find some other IM app to install on your phone (Agile Messenger, IM+, etc.).

  • Multimedia messaging for N70

I just need a simple guideline about the specifications on sending multimedia messages via MMS on the Nokia N70.
For example the type of image file and size that can be sent along with the type of sound file and the size. I can get the picture onto the message but not the sound file (so what's the criteria for sound files). Thank you in advance.

MP3 and AMR files are supported for audio, jpg and gif files are supported for pictures. Some other format may be supported.
The main limitation of MMS is size. Most networks have a size limit of 300kb's in total (some networks only allow 100kb's) so you can only send short sound clips, very short video clips and the picture may need to be scaled down.

  • New BBM 5 And Filtering Messages

Hm... prior to upgrading BBM to 5.0.0.33 on my Bold running 4.6.0.297 (2nd Edition), I could go into the messages application and filter messages using shortcuts for saved searches, such as ALT-G for Gmail, or ALT-O for Outbox, ALT-P for Phone Records, etc. Now, after installing the new BBM last night, the shortcuts no longer work. When I press ALT-G, for example, nothing happens. This is true for both preset search shortcuts and ones that I created myself.
I just did a little digging, and it seems that filtering doesn't work at all, whether accessed via shortcuts or via the search function. Dang.Is anyone else experiencing this? I used the shortcuts often to help maintain my message application.
    Ian

I just tried it and it's working fine for me. If you go into Search, hit the menu button, can you go into Recall. Are all the shortcuts still listed? Have you tried performing a hard reset? If not, just remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace it. After the device reboots try the shortcuts again

  • Filtered messages automatically marked as read - imap gmail

A problem has presented itself recently, and I cannot think of any change I have made to cause it.
I use Thunderbird with IMAP and Virgin which uses Gmail.
I have filters to redirect incoming mail.
The mail is being marked as read when it is filtered, even though I have not seen it.
Also junk mail is not downloaded until I open the spam box.

UPDATE: In addition to all mail being marked as "unread" in yahoo.com, most messages older than a few days old are also deleted. They still appear in Mail, but I need to read them in yahoo.com as well. In addition, Mail does not contain the folders from yahoo.com, so all messages appear in Mail as one big "unread" mess in my inbox. Again, these issues are not a problem with the iPhone app. Thank you!

  • Move messages from N70 to E65

    hi all,
i just bought Nokia E65 and i am trying to move the messages from my old phone (N70) to E65.
BTW, i stored the messages at the MMC in the N70, and i also created folders in the "my Folder", so is it possible to just move the "Mail" folder from my N70 MMC to the new memory card for the E65, and if so, where this folder will be moved, becuse i tried to move it to the same old folder "system" but i want able to see the messages in the E65.

    Hi,
Does the other Mac User account also have it set up as a Start Up item ?
There is sort of "Known Issue" regarding some internet able apps and  Sleep.
When the computer is  Woken then the apps can start up faster than the Computer can re-establish a network.
This can also happen if it is a Start Up item on computer Launch.
I am not sure though this is what you are describing.
You seem to be saying your Quit the App at night bit allow the computer to Sleep rather than doing a Shut Down.
The Wake process seems to restart the app as far as I can tell  from what you are saying.

  • Filtered messages

    Hi,
I'm trying to define a simple scenario u2013 item to item in B1 to B1.
Now, when I add a new Item to the sender System, I can't see it in the Receiver System.
And also if I try to modify an Item  In the sender System, The Item with the same code is not updated in the receiver system.
I'm looking in the iApp Explorer, in the B1 Event Monitor, and every time I make changes I the Items in the sender system u2013
Two rows are added to the "filtered" table.
How can I know why it is filtered?
In the admin Console, in the Monitoring -> message log I click on display/refresh, and I get "No matched message found"
I haven't define any filter in the Event Sender.
I used the existing default Item
    Thanks,
    Chana

    Hi Trinidad,
The lines you see in the iApp -> Monitor -> Event Monitor correspond to the object with number "4" and the same Code as the one you have created in B1? YES
Is there something in the iApp -> Monitor -> Technical Error page? NO
Did you changed something after the automatic files where created for the BizPackage and BizStep? Please make a test with a BizPackage where you don't change anything in any automatic generated file.
No, I haven't change anything after automatic files were created.
To be sure about this I did it again, and got the same result.
    Thanks,

  • Filtering Message based on attachment extension

    Hi All,
I have task to develop a java based email client (POP3, IMAP and SMTP based) which only allows email with attachment with certain extension to be downloaded by clients. I develop it with javamail API.
So far my implementation for IMAP is to retrieve all unread/new messages and then check its attachments. All Messages that do not have attachment with intended file extension are discarded and my email client will only present those with intended file extension attachment.
Is there a more efficient way of doing this? can we, for example query the IMAP server by using certain search term so that we only retrieve messages with intended file extension? How about POP3?
    Thank you

Very little information is retrieved from the IMAP server to get the
information you need. You can use the search method to reduce
the set of messages you need to consider, and you can use the
fetch method to optimize the fetching of the information needed
to decide whether to display the message. Note that the message
content won't be fetched until you display it.
You can turn on session debugging to see the IMAP protocol
    commands being used.
POP3 is completely different. With POP3 you'll need to download
the entire message content to get the information you need to decide
    whether to display the message.

  • Transferring messages from N70

    Hi all,
I have recently downloaded Nokia PC Suite and want to copy all the messages from my phone to my laptop. PC Suite however keeps failing. I would like to copy them so I can open them on my computer, rather than have to transfer them back onto my phone to read.
Can anyone suggest the best way to do this?
    Cheers

If you have Vista then install PC suite on a XP machine and try to copy. PC suite gives problem with Vista

  • Filtered (rules) messages and mail ...

    Hi ~
My screen name "never-mac?" comes from the fact that - as a 25+ year PC user - I said "I'll never get a MAC!!" Never say never!! I bought a MACBOOK for home (to avoid the VISTA experience,) and requested an iMAC for my new work computer.
All that being said, here's my "filtered" mail problem:
On my PC, I used Eudora for my email client; and, filtered messages would automatically forward to the selected mailbox. BUT ... when that happened, the appropriate mailbox would "open" on the status bar. Then, I could look at the message, and determine - immediately - whether or not to read it right away.
On my iMAC and/or MACBOOK, filtered messages are automatically forwarded and I hear a sound that I received mail. BUT, I have no clue which mailbox - of many, especially at work - has the "new" mail in it .... without searching every mailbox.
So, my specific question is .... Is there any way to tell Mail to highlight and/or open the mailbox that just received the filtered message?
Any advice that anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated!! I LOVE my new MAC's; but, "it takes a while to teach an old dog new tricks."
    Thanks!!!

    Hi “never-mac?”
Not sure what your problem really is. Unless you’re telling your rules to mark the messages as read, you should be able to easily identify which mailboxes have unread messages in them because they show the number of unread messages to the right of the mailbox name.
Also, you could set up a Smart Mailbox that shows all your unread messages, no matter where they are...

  • Message filters vs Content Filters

    Differences:
    1. Message filters occur earlier in the email pipeline than content filters. Message filters before the email goes into the workqueue. The content filters occur inside the workqueue.
    2. Message filters are currently only administered from the command line. Content filters can be administered from both the CLI and the GUI interface, however, the GUI interface is the recommended mehtod.
    3. Content filters have an inbound and an outbound set of content filters, depending upon the direction of the message. That is, whether it's a relayed email (outgoing content filters) or inbound mail(inbound content filters). Message filters on the other hand, are autmoatically applied to both inbound and outgoing traffic, unless you lock it down to a specific listener. If you only have one listener, you may need to differentiate your flow of traffic by sendergroups or something else.
    4. Message filters and content filters can pretty much have the same conditions and actions. However, message filters allow for if-else conditions, so they are more robust.
    5. You can use message and content filters in unison. For example, use a message filter to insert a custom header that you content filter can key off of. However, this does not work the other way around. You cannot insert a custom header in the content filter and have the message filter key off of that info. Due to the way the email pipeline is set up, message filters come first, then content filters.
    6. Easy of use: content filters are a bit more intuitive and user-friendly. message filters are more advanced, so it has a bigger learning curve.
    7. Content filters used with customized incoming or outgoing mail policies allow you to splinter messages. Splintering messages allow you to split messages up by recipients. Message filters don't allow splintering and are applied to the entire message.

Actually, I just did a test on this and your point is half correct.
It's not the content filter that does the splintering, it's either the incoming or outgoing mail policy that does the splintering.
For example, if you only have one Default outgoing policy and an outgoing content filter that drops the mail if the destination is @yahoo.com.
If you sent in a test email with two recipients: [email protected] and [email protected]
Then the entire message would get dropped since there was only one Default outgoing policy.
However, you can allow for splintering if you had additional custom policies.
    For example,
    1. gmail-recipients
    2. yahoo-recipients
    3. Default policy
In that case, your test email would split into two separate emails and then you could have the content filters apply to each separately.
You are correct that message filters apply to the entire message and does not allow for message splintering.
However, content filtering, message splintering is only applicable if you have additional custom policy, either inbound or outgoing.
So, in additional to the requirement of mutliple recipients, you also need multiple policies, otherwise, have multiple recipients and only one Default policy will affect the entire message also.
Thanks for the attention to detail.
You've missed one of the biggest differences...
Message filters act on a _message_. Content filters act on a message/recipient pair.
If a message is only going to a single person then there's not any difference, but if a message is addresses to multiple people then the message filter will take the same action for all recipients, whilst the content filter will split ("splinter") the one message into multiple messages, with one (or possibly more) recipients each, and then act on each individually.

  • Empty syslog message when filtering with ESM

    Hello,
I am attempting to out syslog messages using ESM. I found a tcl script in an older post and modified it slightly:
    if { [string length $::orig_msg] == 0 } {
        return ""
    }set msgs [list {LINK-3-UPDOWN} {PROTO-5-UPDOWN}]set fac_sev_mnem "${::facility}-${::severity}-${::mnemonic}"foreach msg $msgs {
        if { $msg == $fac_sev_mnem } {
        return ""
    }return $::orig_msg
    I'm testing this using a catalyst 3750 running 12.2.44SE5.
It's working except, when it matches a message instead of dropping it completely it sends a blank message to syslog, buffer, etc. It seems like a very simple script, I'm not sure where to go from here.
    Thanks in advance!
    Ed

I think I see what you're seeing, but I don't think it's the filtered messages that generate the newlines.  I think you're seeing all non-filtered messages followed by an extra newline.  For example:
Sep 28 21:46:04: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet0/23, changed state to upSep 28 21:46:17: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet0/23, changed state to downSep 28 21:46:22: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet0/23, changed state to upSep 28 21:48:15: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by cse on vty3 (172.18.123.93)Sep 28 21:48:25: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by cse on vty3 (172.18.123.93)
If so, then this is bug CSCsu74220, which is not yet fixed on the Cat3K line.
