some unknown source is sending me sms spam ,i blocked it (the IOS block feature) but it is still sending me sms. does block feature work in iphone ?
and no ,sms block is NOT a carrier feature .maybe it is in the US , but not in other countries.

i already contacted them ,other people in my area did the same. the matter is : the carrier does share a cut of these adds so they don't want you to block it. and without some long procedure i will never be able to block that add. and even if i cancel it another add will begin in days. i have some experience with this.
my cell phone is very powerful and it is setting just next to me , the phone should simply block it. i can't see any technical difficulty in that .android does it it is very very simple. google block email spam (also email has filters) why can't a phone filter sms as well ? simple question.
sms should be filtered by keyword as well : e.g. if the word "discount" was mentioned from unknown number just transfer that sms to trash. very very simple. i can't see why people make seem like very difficult.
security ? no problem permission system is already in place ,similar to camera and GPS permission systems.

  • Phone and SMS Spam

I am getting unwanted Phone calls and SMS messages from Spammers on my iPhone. Can I set up my iPhone in such a way Calls and SMS messages from any one not in my contacts list, will not be responded to or sent to voice mail, indicating to the Spammer that this number is not active?

  • Problems with SMS spam - is there a spam blocker?

I'm getting a lot of SMS spam, I don't want to change my number because of the impossibility of getting a new number to all my work contacts, is there an app to filter SMS messages as for Android?

Thanks for the responses.  I'm in the UK not the US so, unfortunately, can't follow US specific advice - I wish spam SMSs were illegal over here!  The spam I'm getting is people trying to sell me insurance and legal services for dodgy 'claims' etc.  I'm very careful about what I check on web sites, but obviously not careful enough.  It's like being under siege.  I'll check with my provider to see if they can do anything.

  • Mail filters and Spam

    Hi,
I am using the following version with SpamAssassin (SA):
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-3.04 (built Jul 15 2005)
I configured SA so that it inserts a specific string into the subject line saying "SPAM detected". I want to use Mail Filter through the web mail interface such that anybody should be able to dump the messages with "SPAM detected" in the subject line into Trash. However, this does not work as I expected. And all messages with "SPAM detected" in the subject line still end up in Inbox. On the other hand, if I send an email with those specific words in the subject line from outside to my email account on that server, it goes into Trash as per Mail Filter.
So, my understanding is that Mail filters get executed before SA call-out. First of all, is that assumption correct?
Secondly, how can I archive such a configuration in which a user can specify its own filters using web mail interface and they get executed after SA check?
Thirdyly, one of my users wanted to be able to define some sort of whitelists based on actual email address or domain names. She did not want her incoming emails coming from a white listed account or domain to go through SA check. And is there any way of specifying such a white list by herself easily? Or what do you suggest?
    Thanks,
    Rami

  • Message Filters - Gmail Spam arriving in message inbox despite filters being applied on BB

    Hi
I have just bought an 8520 and most things are going well apart from message filters.  I have a number of email addresses logged as Spam in my Gmail account., and some of them are clearly not arriving in my BB message inbox which is good.
However some email addresses are arriving on my BB device message inbox.
I have set up the appropriate filters on the BB when messages are getting through, but some addresses still seem to be getting through.
I think I may well have missed a step when setting these up, and any guidance would be appreciated.

    Hello guv999,

  • Multiple filters for Spam?

    Hi,
I would like to set up the spam filtering to delete all mails above a certain score and deliver any with a lower score but highlight as suspected spam.
My thinking behind this is that it allows me to filter out those mails which are definately spam (i.e. score of 10+) but still deliver messages that might be spam but with a re-written subject (i.e. score of 4 to 10).
    Is this possible?
Powerbook G4, Powermac G5, Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Had this handy...
This is pretty simple but involves editing the /etc/amavisd.conf file by hand via the Terminal application (and a text editor - NOT Word). The following uses the Pico editor which contains on-screen help. Commands in Terminal are shown in bold text. The "sudo" command prefix executes the command as the 'root' user and may need the admin password.
First decide the scores required for the TAG and the KILL. E.g., tag at a score of 2 and kill at a score of 5. Adjust as required.
Open Terminal application on the server. Stop mail server, make a backup of existing file and then edit it...
    sudo serveradmin stop mail
    sudo cp /etc/amavisd.conf /etc/amavisd.conf.bak
    sudo pico /etc/amavisd.conf
You are now editing the amavisd.conf file. To find the line we need to edit, enter "control-W" then the search string "satag2level". The following 2 lines are the ones which can be edited...
    $satag2_leveldeflt = 3.0; # some comment stuff here
    $sakill_leveldeflt = $satag2_leveldeflt; # some comment stuff here
For a tag at score 2 and kill at score 5, these two need to be changed to following...
    $satag2_leveldeflt = 2.0; # some comment stuff here
    $sakill_leveldeflt = 5.0; # some comment stuff here
Use the cursor to move, delete and insert the new text. Note the ";" after the score levels. If you make a mistake and want to start again just Exit (control-X) and respond "N" (no) when asked to save.
When happy all is OK, Exit, and confirm the save with "Y" (yes). Confirm the file name with 'return'. Restart mail services...
    sudo serveradmin start mail
Send a test mail and check your mail.log to ensure everything is OK. If not, you can either stop mail services and either re-edit or go back to backup file and re-edit that...
    sudo serveradmin stop mail
    sudo cp /etc/amavisd.conf.bak /etc/amavisd.conf
    sudo pico /etc/amavisd.conf
When all is working, have a look at the Server Admin-> Mail-> Filters screen. You will see that it now shows that Junk Mail is set to be 'Delivered', with a Tagged subject line. This is OK and is to be expected. The score on this screen is for the Tag, the killed mail (at higher score) will be sent to the default spam-quarantine location: /var/virusmails.
Note that Killed mail will get a default REJECT notice so the sender will be informed. This usually results in harmless bounces in your outgoing mail queue from MAILER_DAEMON.
    That's it!

  • Filtering sms problems

I recently installed OVI suite, but in the messaging section how do I get it to filter my sms by contact? I pressed the button in the corner and it just shows all my sms in one group, as in one long conversation. I am also unable to decipher from whom the messages are from, no name or number is shown.

Hi, you might have this problem because your contacts (being related to received messages) are having names filled in only into "First" name field of those specific Contacts.
Try out this: Go to Contacts view and modify one of the contacts (which you have received messages in Messages view) by entering data also in to the Last name field. Then go to the Messages view and see whether it made any difference.
To my understanding there is a fix coming along to this in near future.

  • PDF Spam cannot be filtered by IronPort?

Recently, my company received many pdf spams although we have IronPort C100. Any solution for filtering PDF Spams?

Did you check the headers to insure that they came from IronPort?
I've run into several customer installs that had port 25 open to other mail and OWA servers that were either no longer or never published MX records that spammers found over time and it creates a backdoor for spam entry.
Double check the Received line in the headers to verify it came through the IronPort and forward all false negatives to [email protected]

  • Mail spam filters and phishing

Yesterday's UK Sunday Times gave an email address to which sufferers were advised to forward bank phishing emails - it is, presumably, a bank sponsored site which allows them to try and trace and/or stem this ever increasing tide of spam.
Most of these bank phishing emails are caught by me ISP before I even get them, but several do make it into my spam folder or in-tray. If the latter, I mark them as spam manually.
If I were to forward the emails that do reach me (after being manually marked or automatically filtered as spam) to the suggested address, would that affect the "learning" process of my Apple Mail spam filter?
I can't think how it could and I'm keen to help the banks reduce this tiresome avalanche of rubbish (which seems to be increasing) but I don't want to confuse my filtering process.
    Thanks.

  • Exchange server 2013 content filter rejecting all incoming messages as spam.

    Hello All,
Today out of the blue our Exchange server 2013 install started rejecting any inbound message as spam. It first started with only one user not being able to receive any mail because of this anomaly and
then after 12 or so hours all users were getting their mail rejected.
I currently had the threshold set to 5 on external messages only. Internal is disabled.
I have tried setting the threshold to 8 and 9, and rebooted the server after restarting
all services just to make sure everything reset. Even dished out a IISRESET just in case. Whatever I tried still does not work.
The install is a stand alone server facing the outside world (no edge server) living
in a 2 domain controller environment with a share point farm thrown in (ESXI5.5 environment)
Everything works just fine and dandy if I disable the content filter all together. Not seeing anything in the application logs out of the ordinary. Everything was working great and the same settings I used on this server worked well for a totally different
    server that runs just fine.
    Any ideas?

This is what it is set at now. Completely disabled. It worked fine for quite some time filtering out spam pretty nicely then one day everyone's mail was being rejected as spam by the content filtering agent. I know of someone else who also had this
issue except their box was running 2008R2 with EX2007. They too disabled the content filter as it was giving them too many problems with mail being rejected.

  • "My Contacts Only" not working With SMS

    Hi, there.
I would like to know if the "My Contacts Only" block in [Settings > Notification Center > Message] works only with iMessages or if it includes SMS also.
I'm from Brazil and here we get a lot of spam messages via SMS.
Even though I got this setting turned on, I still get a sound alert every time a SMS spam message hits my inbox.
And blocking the caller is no good, since the messages always come from different numbers.
I have an iPhone 4 under iOS 7.0.6.
    Thanks in advance.
