Filters and Export to Excel (BI 7 report in portal)

Hi all
We are seeing some interesting behaviour with the data being exported to excel.
The steps to create the problem are -
- run report
- filter to limit the data,
- "export to excel"
When checking data in excel - the full set of data (that is, prior to the filter being applied) has been transfered.
Could someone please confirm the following -
1. is this expected behaviour ?
2. are there any configuration items that need to be done to export only the filtered data as seen on the current report on the screen ?
3. any other suggestions ?!
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards
Karen

with your product version there are little options you have.
1. Upgrade to the latest SP and patch on XIR2 (SP6, fp6.4) and re-test
2. Upgrade to current product release.
3. figure out what has changed and how in the report and reverse those changes.

  • Reporting and exporting to Excel in SharePoint Online

    Hi
I've developed a SharePoint site to replace a legacy Access database that dealt with consumer complaints and queries. In the Access database I'd developed a feature that allowed users to filter the complaints by a number of criteria and export them to Excel
and I'm trying to do the same in SharePoint.
If it were on-premises SharePoint I'd just create a parameterised SSRS report which would solve all my problems. However being SharePoint online, this is not an option. I'd like the users to be able to select complaints from any date range, for any category
of complaint and for any product supplier (plus a few other criteria). The idea is that they want to be able to then send the filtered data to individual suppliers. Doing this out of the box with views throws up several problems. The main one is that any export
to Excel of a view exports the entire set of data, meaning that users themselves would need to create a new view for every export they wished to perform, which is not practical.
My question is: what is the best way in SharePoint online to export a filtered subset of a list to Excel?
I can use SharePoint designer, but not C# in order to achieve the goal. We also have SharePoint Online Plan 2 if that makes it easier.
    Thanks in advance,
    Duncan

  • How do I get a list of albums by artist and export to Excel etc?

How do I get a list of albums ONLY by artist and export to Excel etc? I do not want the songs as generally know the songs on the album.

You can get it directly out of iTunes by the command Print > Album Listing > List of Albums.
Also, if you are good at Excel, you can paste your iTunes library listing into Excel and use the Excel filtering and sorting capabilities to get whatever view you want.

  • Can I simultaneously save a form as a PDF and export to Excel?

Can I simultaneously save a form as a PDF and export to Excel?

Regardless of your goal yes, it would be separate steps - but let me see if I understand what you want so I can explain better...
I am assuming you want to export the response data to Excel, this is an action from the "File" = "Export Responses" menu item and can export all of the response data to Excel at one time (also has the option of PDF or CSV).  That would be done as one step, exporting to Excel.  If you also wanted a PDF version of the table with all responses you could repeat that and select "PDF" the second time.
If you want PDF's of each individual response (you can "Download Response as PDF" which is a PDF that looks like the original form filled out) then that is also a separate step and has to be done individually for each response you want to download as PDF.

  • Running report with alv grid in background and exporting to excel

    Hi Guys,
I've created a report program that uses the alv grid. When I run the report in foreground, I can easily export it to excel. However, if I run it in background, then display the spooled report and try to export to excel, it does not put it in excel format (seems to go over as one big column rather than individual columns that are defined in the report). Is there a way to run it in background ,export to excel properly and i have to email also in Excel sheet format.?
    Thanks,
    Gopi.

In background u cannot do a download to excel. you can do is create CSV format file
    or
write a report for output with tabs then call that report using
submit yXXXX exporting list to memory
               and return.
      call function 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY'
        tables
          listobject = report_list
        exceptions
          not_found  = 1
          others     = 2.
and send the report_list to email users

  • Show Repeated key values in Reports and Export Into Excel

    Hi Experts,
Currently I am working on the BW3.5 version. Our client requirement to display the repeated key value in web and export same into excel. I have followed the steps in web template which mentioned below to achieve the requirement.
    1) In my web template, add the following line to the Template Properties object tag (the tag at the very top of the web template in HTML mode):<param name="SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS" value=""/>
After the change web template change, Myself execute the report in web, Its fine web. But I export into excel, again the key values are suppressed. So I have followed the steps in query. Then its fine. I mean, I can export into excel with repeated key values.
    2) In my query, in Properties and on the Display tab, unchecked "Hide Repeated Key Values".
But do we have any other option without changing query properties to achieve the requirement.. I am fine with the web template change("SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS"). But I do not want to change the query properties.
Please help me to fix the issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Experts,
I have come across one of the suggestion in the below location. Could you plz help me to implement it.
    http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=118185
    Suggestion:
You can do exactly what you want, but it will take either a button changing the properties of the web item or a javascript function added to the context menu getting the properties of the table item and changing it to "X" or "". These are just two examples, there are other ways to do this. This is the actual code that sets the suppression for the repeated texts. Hope this helps.

  • Error while Exporting to Excel from ALV Report

    Dear Experts,
When I am exporting my report output to an Excel Sheet  directly some of the headers are appearing in Row No 1 and some are displaying in Row No. 2. Hence the corresponding values are also showing in the same manner.
I want to show all the Rows in a single row in row No 1. I am unable to find the solution for this.
But when I am exporting the same report into the MHTML Excel format the Report Headings are showing correctly in a single row and hence the respective values are also showing correctly in a single row. And if I save the same MHTML Excel as normal EXCEL(97-2003) format then also it is showing correctly.
The problem comes only when I as exporting it directly into EXCEL(97-2003) format.
    Plz help.

    Hi,
This is the Technical limitation of ABAP list export to local file.
ALV grid greater than 1023 characters per line will be split into 2 lines.
To prevent a line break occuring when you download the list as a local spreadsheet file, you must reduce the width of the list in ALV. You can do this either by hiding columns or by changing the column widths in the ALV. Take care that the column heading characters also dont exceed 1023 characters. This will work.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Air and export to Excel from jasperserver

    Hello,
I had issues to display PDF's from Adobe Air when using
jasperserver. As soon as I intalled Reader 9.0 it worked fine..Now
I am having an issue with excel and csv and rtf files... When I
click from my air application's and generate a report and export it
to Xls or rtf or csv, opens a new Adobe air instance with a white
blank screen.. Can you please please help me in this..
    Thanks in advance

I am using Adobe Air which displays jasper server reports and
the report generated gives an option to the user to open that
report in different format like excel, rtf, csv formats.. and
jasperserver has it's function to convert it approptaitely in
different formats. It's just in Adobe air it doesn't work.. I
tested my application with google chrome which has a webkit just
like adobe air . So When I want to open the report in excel then it
gives me an option either to open it or save it. But in Adobe Air
it comes as a blank page.. not sure what's happening also as I
dont' get any exception.. so not sure whether Adobe Air recognizes
the other formats besides pdf... as for PDF I had to have adobe
reader 9 installed and then it opens up.. If still I am not able to
explain the scenario please call me at 314-799-3138 (USA). I am
just stuck in this project.. And we have to use Adobe air as our
application has to be desktop oriented.

  • Criticality icons and exporting to Excel

    Hello,
I want the appropriate icons to export as well as the text if I perform an export to Excel from a task dashboard or export to Excel of the table view (list display) of a project.  I am getting mixed results and wonder what piece am I missing?
In our test system - I see icons when I export from task dashboard but not from the table view of a project.
In our dev system - I see icons in both places.
For a test id in our dev system - I do not see icons in either.
Do I need to look at backend security or is there something else?
    Thank you,

  • Matching and Exporting to Excel

I'm having an issue that hopefully someone can help me with - read below for details:
I'm successfully merging five separate data streams (using "Merge Data Streams") with the intent of reviewing all of the matching/duplicate records. I've used the "Deduplicate" processor to do the matching on 1 field - Item Number.
Is there an easy way that I'm missing to organize the matched data and export it to Excel? The "Match Groups" tab only shows the Item Number and Match Group ID, but I would love to be able to see the full set of data organized by the match groups. I'm attaching a photo that shows the issue.
Let me know! Any help is appreciated - thanks.

    Hi,
You can freely configure the Match Groups output. Go into the match processor (Deduplicate), into the Match sub-processor, the Groups tab, and add whichever columns you want to it. An easy alterantive is to add all attributes as identifiers; they will then have default mapped attributes in the output.

  • Crystal Reports XI: formatting and exporting to Excel (VB 6)

    Hi.
I have a VERY simple report that all I want it to do is display the numbers from a table EXACTLY as formatted and be able to export them to Excel, as NUMBER (not STRINGS).
    Example:
My fields may contains the following values in a single column:
    45.02
    0.04454
    215
And I want them to be displayed as entered in the source table.
Initially, to maintain the formatting, I set the field's data type to a STRING.
The problem is that when I then export the data to Excel, all the numerical values are treated as TEXT and we need to "Convert Text to Numbers".
When I changed the field's data type to a DOUBLE, the data in the table is correct, but the report formats all the numbers in one way.  I want to be able to retain the formatting of the field (as-is) but have them exported as numbers, rather than text.
    Can this be done?
    Please advise!
    Thanks.
    AK

I actuallly found my answer elsewhere (http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1235276&page=4).
The Decimal formattion (x=2) for the fields can be set as follows:
    If CurrentFieldValue = Int(CurrentFieldValue) Then 0Else If CurrentFieldValue * 10 = Int(CurrentFieldValue * 10) Then 1
    Else If CurrentFieldValue * 100 = Int(CurrentFieldValue * 100) Then 2
    Else If CurrentFieldValue * 1000 = Int(CurrentFieldValue * 1000) Then 3
    Else If CurrentFieldValue * 10000 = Int(CurrentFieldValue * 10000) Then 4
    Else If CurrentFieldValue * 100000 = Int(CurrentFieldValue * 100000) Then 5
    Else If CurrentFieldValue * 1000000 = Int(CurrentFieldValue * 1000000) Then 6
    ElseDefaultAttribute
    Basically - this works.
    Hope this helps someone else!
    Thanks.

  • Export to excel using deski report

    Hi,
We are using BOXIR2 SP4 version. We have a deski report that generates excel output file and it was working fine until yesterday. Today that report successfully exported excel output file, but I was not able to open excel file and it gives me below error:
Excel found unreadable content in 'abc.xls'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.
Now, if I select Yes, then it opens blank sheet.
I found that today there was a new record in the report for new customer. When I filtered out that customer record it works fine. So I thought may be something wrong with that customer.
After that I filtered out 10 existing customers and then also I was able to open excel sheet with new customer record as well. So, I tried few other things to resolve the issue, if I reduce the length of Customer_name field from 35 to 30 by using SubStr(), it works fine. If I add a new field Customer ID to the left of Customer_name field, it works fine.
This is a strange issue. I have suggested our client the above option that have worked. But if client is not OK with it, I will still have to find the root cause and resolve this issue.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Nikhil
