Filters for calender syncing

Is there a way to selectively sync the calender items from outlook. For example, in outlook I have setup recurring dummy events so that I block off time for myself. Since these are recurring events, it adds to the amount of data iphone has to sync. I'd like have a filter where the iTunes does not sync these dummy events to my phone. I guess it's a long shot, but I thought I try...

In a word, I'm fairly certain the answer is no.
The amount of data involved with this is or should be very insignificant - not worth going to any trouble over.

Outlook 2007 Calender Sync - Recurring Entries

So my iTunes Calender Sync all works pretty much perfectly with all my Apple Devices other than one point;
My past recrurring entries that I have cleared daily stay on the iPhone 4s and the iPad.
These are not shown in Outlook 2007 however and it's one of those small points that bugs the **** out of me.
Any ideas for a simple fix?

OK, have been reading advice and it is most helpful, here is where I am...In options when in Calender there were 2 email address calenders, and 1 Device Default calenders. I deleted the one email that had no calender entries per "Doc ID KB19240" re multple calender entries. The other email address has only the 2 test calender entries I made (on Blackberry) after losing everything in my outlook calender when syncing after Update. The Device Default calender appears to have the 135 entries I lost. Right now the email address is syncing, but the Device Default is not. I am afraid to delete the device default calender despite the fact that the article says that all entries will be transferred to the remaining calender. I looked for help in outlook 2007 to see if it has a way to pick which of the Blackberry calenders it syncs with and have not found that yet. Ahhh as I think about it, maybe I have to delete the remaining email calender account (CICAL) and Outlook will have no option but to sync the Device Default calender. I know it sounds easy to PPL that are used to working with computers and devices, but guys like me are afraid to push the wrong button, DOH! Let me know if you think that is the possible solution. Settings -- Calender -- Sync Option Missing | old appointments "lost"

I have a problem with my iPhone 4. In the past it was possible to adjust the time old appointments are "kept" in the calender. Unfortunately, I had to reset my iPhone and now (iOS 4.3.5) the option "Settings --> Calender --> Sync" in which I can adjust if and when my iPhone drops old appointments seem to be gone.
Does anyone know where Apple moved that option? I really need access to my old appointments.

Hi the same problem happened to me. If your have Icloud on your computer you can sign in and when you click oto your claendar they should still be there. Then plug in your Iphon with the usb cable and go to general, settingins then go into icloud and scroll down to storage and backup and click on that. it should restore what is on your computer.

LOV custom sorting in prompts for calender month

I want to do sorting in prompts in webi for Calender Month in the form (Jan,Feb,Mar....)
Whereas, it comes alphabetically As (Apr,Aug and so on....) i want to know that can we find the solution for the same.
I also want to know if yes can we do it in webi itself or we will have to do it on Information Design Tool?

Hi Foram. I, too, am using HANA as my backend. Here's one way you can sort your data-driven prompts that appear in Web Intelligence:
Open your business layer within the Information Design Tool.
Verify that the column to be displayed in the Webi prompt (e.g., "Month") has been defined in your business layer.
Select the "Parameters and Lists of Values" button.
In the "List of Values" frame, press the down arrow and then select "List of values based on business layer objects".
Give the the list an intuitive name; e.g., "Month LOV".
On the Definition tab, press the "Edit Query..." button.
Drag the column to be displayed in the Webi prompt (e.g, "Month") to the Result Objects frame.
Press the "Sort dialog..." button.
In the Sort dialog box, press the "Insert Sort Object" button.
Select the column to sort on; e.g., "Month" and then press the OK button.
Verify the sort type; e.g., "Ascending".
Press the OK button.
Press the Preview button to confirm the results.
Save and publish the universe to your repository.
Open your Webi report.
Enter into Design mode.
Open the Query Panel.
Select the appropriate query.
In the Query Filters frame, select the prompt (e.g., "Month") and press the "Show prompt properties" button.
In the Prompt Properties dialog box, in the Prompt Properties frame, make sure "Prompt with List of Values" is selected.
Press the OK button.
Press the Close button.
Press the Refresh button.
Confirm that the prompt (e.g., "Month") is sorted properly.

Calender sync creates duplicate entries!!

Everytime an update comes out out for either iphone or itunes, my calender sync creates duplicate entries. One of them is being duplicated for atleast 7 times.
Please guide me to resolve this issue and if there is a feedback for developers, they should try to resolve this issue in future updates.

I never hear this, but try this.
If you have all the correct data in outlook, my suggestion is wipe the device (all the data is erased) and synch the device again.
To wipe the device go to menu, options, security options, general options, press menu, and wipe handheld.

OneDrive for Business sync app when using Office 2010

My clients use Office 2010. They all have SharePoint Workspace installed as well, thought, they don't use it.
As part of new SharePoint 2013 on-premise roll-out, I have to find a method to silently install OneDrive for Business into clients machines, without disruption to the use of Office 2010. They will use OneDrive for business to sync their team sites libraries
and their personal site library.
So far, I have no success.
What I tried:
-Standalone OneDrive Pro client exe Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR_.exe
It seems there is no way to run it silently anyway. Is there?
basically, this package still connects to the internet to download modules and it prompts user for some interaction while installing. I NEED IT SILENT.
-Building OCT package out of Office 2013 installation media. I selected to only install Groove(OneDrive) and leave existing Office product intact. Then I run it from setup.exe /adminfile //location/onlygroove.MSP
It provisions SkyDrive Pro client (note the name, I used Office 2013 without SP1 media)
Problems with that:
1.After installing Office 2013 SP1, client name is still SkyDrive Pro 2013, but sync folder actually changed, some other user interface places are also updated
2.After silent run, Office 2010 experience problems: Outlook 2010 crushes on start 3 times, then it attempts to run repair, Repair will fix outlook, but it also sets SharePoint workspace as a default client for sync. Running Office 2013 repair will break
Outlook again. The solution is to uninstall SharePoint workspace, then run Office 2013 repair, then Office 2010 repair again - this way I have SkyDrive Pro as a sync app and Outlook 2010 working.
As you see, I have problems with having seamless silent OneDrive for Business sync app installation. Even asking clients to install it manually would be too hard for them. Annoying thing is that if you click the exe file to run, it takes about 2 minutes
before user sees anything happening on a screen. I can see users getting confused if they actually initiated a process of not!
What am I missing ?
Any other way to provision it in bulk to my users? Any help appreciated.

I think we're all waiting on Microsoft to (quickly) address this. Its unacceptable.
It is seriously unacceptable, and I am having the same problems. Even running tests locally and I am a domain admin, I come across admin permission errors. I have tried amending the config file and creating a new one (onedrive_download.xml), creating a new
folder as a temp test and running the OneDrive for Business pack (extracted). These are the errors I get (on my own admin PC).

Yes, I was referring to the iTunes ID not needing to be the same as the ID used for iCloud. In order to set up an Apple ID your children will need to have a valid email address that can be verified by Apple. Apple requires this so they have a way of contacting the owner if there is a problem with the account, such as when you may need to reset the password on the account. When you set up the ID, Apple will send a verification email to this email account and you will need to click on the verificating link in the email to complete the process. If they don't currently have an email account you can just set one up with gmail or another free email hosting service. They don't have to use the account but you will need it to set up the ID.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that security was non-existant or horrible, just it is online, so no absolutes.
iCloud is really not useful, IMO, for collaborating as only you or your AppleID enabled devices can access the files.
I have multiple online storage accounts with the common free services, but my most used is www.box.net. Many document apps will readily support it, and even if one does not, you can use the box.net app itself to access files, then open them in the app usually. And you can share your online folders, with reasonable controls on access to keep control of who can see (and upload or download) what.
A lot of people I know use dropbox as well, but they are usually using paid accounts (often their company sets one up for them to use to exchange files with clients) and I don't know how much better is the security on a paid dropbox account versus a free one. I suspect the free ones are on a par with box.net.
You could also use add security by using some sort of PGP or other encryption tools to encrypt files put up on the shared folder(s). You'd exchange public keys with your colleagues so they could decrypt those files once they download them. That may be overkill for many peoples needs though.
Another option, if you have an online hosting account, is to get one that offers SFTP access and use that for sharing files (the downside of that is having to distribute the password to colleagues, so you could loose control of it if one of them is careless or thoughtless with it). It seems more and more document-type apps for iOS are supporting generic FTP and SFTP as well as the popular free online storage solutions.

How to apply filters for union all report in OBIEE 11g

Hi All
Can we apply saved filters to union reports in obiee 11g?
I am able to apply saved filters for normal reports but not for union reports.
The catalog pane is blank, when i click on result columns or each criteria.
The only option i see is to manually create the filters for each criteria, dont i have any choice to use a saved filter for union report?
Is this a bug or something i am unaware. Please guide me

Filter is created based on subject area.we can't use save filter in any other subject areas.
now we can use new filter for union reports.

How to create a text variable for Calender Yr/Month depending on the prompt for calendar year

Please assist on this issue:
i have created a Bex report that has an offset for 12 months from the current calender month, i tried to use text variables to replace the calender months but i just learned now text variables from Bex dont work in BO, so I would like to create a prompt in BO to enter Calendar Year and then based on the input(Calender Year) the Webi report must display a 12 months for that Year.
Please also indicate where exactly i have to click in order to get that "Helpful icon " when the my issues have been resolved, because i searched it and havent seen it anywhere on the communications

In BO I recieve my all months for existing data and when i create a prompt for Calender Year the months in the report still has those text varibale for exampl if i enter 2011 on the prompt the text remains for the year that was already there wen i created my text variable... so its not dynamic.....
So if i have text variables in Bex it will display like this in Webi in which it wont change if i put in 2011 as input for the prompt...

Current date as deafult for Calender Day and user entry

There is a select option for Calender Day for a BW query.
This Calender Day should have a default as Current Date and User entry is also possible.
I have used a Customer exit and written the following code under i_step = 1
data: v_currdt like sy-datum.
clear: v_currdt, vfl_range.
         if i_step = 1.
          vfl_range-sign = 'I'.
          vfl_range-opt = 'EQ'.
          v_currdt = sy-datum.
          vfl_range-low = v_currdt.
          append vfl_range to e_t_range.
         endif.
Please inform if this code is incorrect, because I am not able to see the date at all.

Significance of sync key for a Sync Bo

Hi,
What is meant by the sync Key in MI Client application. How is it used to identify a particular sync BO instance.
Is it the same as that of the key field selected in the syncbo mapping.
If the syncbo has multiple key fields what would be the sync key in the application

For modifying one syncbo instance ,
in the meRepMeta.xml file corresponding to that SyncBo , allowModify="true".This must be satisfied.
For modifying one syncbo instance , u can do it like described below..
Here u must need the sync key of the header .u have to find out this sync key using one of the standard methods(first entry of a row is sync key of that sync bo instance).
Then to modify the header instance .
1) u can use the standard method modifyRowInDB . here the input parameters are SyncBo name , Sync Key , Value and index of the Column. But the limitation of this method is ,if u have more than one field to modify , then u have to use this method inside the loop. In this method , we are explicitely calling the commit() method . So during looping if one of the modification fails for particular sync bo instance , then we have to manually do the rollback for the previous transactions.
we can change the method like this..

Ur understanding is correct. Data is organized in the form of header and item.
One Header instance can have 0 , one or more item instances.
I dont know , how exactly that link is maintained in bw HEADER and ITEM instance. Because i could see only this SYNC_KEY field in the instances.
I think it might be handled by the SmartSync Framework itself.

For creating ITEM tables for GETDETAIL , we have to DEFINE one structure , which contain the fields from all tables.
This structure is including as a TABLE parameter of ur GETDETAIL Wrapper. And u will be filling values in these fields that are present in ur STRUCTURE which is included as a TABLE param .
While Creating SncBOs using SyncBO Builder , u are mapping ur required fields. Only these fields are visible in the client device. Depending upon the
ugage (i meant whether CREATE Wrapper , MODIFY , DELETE ) , u can create , modify and Delete these instances.
Refer these links also .. I have already given some sample codes in these forums.... refer these .. In the generated code itself , some null pointer exceptions are not handled.
In this sample code , that is handled..
