Filters for Virtual Office

Hello we are trying to get Virtual Office to work and are having many
different issues, but one that has cropped up now is filtering. We have a
url called http://vo.domainname.com/vo and we can get the VO office to work
fine when we are inside of the company, however from the outside we receive
the following error message, URL could not be retrieved, time out 110, once
we drop filters however it instantly works.(So this leads Me to believe
filtering is to blame) Another error I have is vo.domainname.com:443, so I
will assume I need two filters for 443 one inbound and one outbound, but if
someone could confrim this, and give a description of the filters I would
be very grateful.

Hello Cat;
I wanted to make sure I had the second filter correct as well before I
went out to my customers site,
On the first one you have Packet type TCP 1024-65535 dest port 443
on the second one you have the same thing,
Packet type TCP source port 1024-65535 dest port 443
shouldn't that be turned around for outbound communication to occur? I
will also let you know about the ack bit being checked or not

  • Add font for virtualized Office 2013

    Hi,
I need to add a font for Office 2013.
Usually, a font should be added to Windows\Fonts. I believe it should work for virtual Apps too?
Can we do it on package level?
    Thanks.
--- When you hit a wrong note its the next note that makes it good or bad. --- Miles Davis

Generally you can add fonts to app-v packages.
Tim Mangan did some research on the pulishing performance of that and also documents some background information: http://www.tmurgent.com/appv/index.php/resources/research/293-deploymentperformance
However: As the Office 2013 App-V package can't be modified with the Sequencer, you'd have to find other methods. One would be to copy/install the Font inside the virtual package using a DeploymentConfig, or you install the Font locally - maybe also using
    the DeploymentConfig.

  • Virtual Office full context login

Hi, When I go to the URL for Virtual Office it immediately comes up with
a 'Novell Security Services' box and asks for the following details:
    Realm
    Username
    Password
The realm has the tree name in it. If I type in the FULL context to a
valid user then it takes me to the front page of Virtual Office to allow
    me to login to it.
Does anybody know why this is happening or know how to stop it. What I
want is for the URL to be typed in and for Virtual Office logon page to
immediately display but this other box displays first. This would mean
that the user has to type two usersnames in.
I am running NW6.5 SP4a with the Novell Client 4.91 SP3 for Windows XP
    SP2.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Where can I get fix for TID3456911 (Virtual Office password issue)

We currently experience the problem described in Document ID 3456911
(Novell Virtual Office - "your password has expired" popup) located on the
    novell knowledgebase
    (http://www.novell.com/support/search...200%2032504829).
As described in the resolution section, a "fix is available by request".
Does anyone knows how to request such fix to the development team?
    Thanks

    Hello,
The problem that I had with VO was that when you would log in as the
admin, it would say that you needed to change the password. I didn't want
to change the admin password. I just restarted Apache and Tomcat and the
    problem went away.
When I researched the problem I found that password policies in iManager
PasswordsPolicies over ride any password policies set in Console1.
If you upgraded to NetWare 6.5 from an earlier version and used Universal
Password (Usually to sync eDir and Mac Passwords) , you may need to to
delete the policies and recreate them.
I found that there wasn't an expire Policy for my admin user and once I
restarted the server it no longer said that the password was expired and
    let the admin login.
    Hope this helps,
    Warren

  • Skype for Professor virtual office hours

We have just been informed that our illuminate contract will no longer be funded next year starting in Jan 2013. I was wondering if there are any educational grants that I can apply for that would allow us to test the feasibility of using Skype as a replacement for Illuminate Office hours, in our distance education courses.
If not a grant, any suggestions on how we could handle 12-15 students in a skype conference as a virtual office hour, or as part of a real time content delivery agent

  • App-V 5.0: Adding Visio 2013 and Project 2013 to a previously deployed virtual Office 2013

    Good morning.
I can successfully deploy Office 2013 via PowerShell and App-V v5.0 without difficulty.  I've read the document at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2915745/en-us and followed all instructions successfully.
My question is this:  If Office 2013 without Visio 2013 or Project 2013 is virtually deployed, how can those components be added later?
For instance, we may have 100 users that acquire a virtualized Office 2013 without Project or Visio.  We then may have 25 users that require a virtualized Office and Visio without Project and, perhaps, another 15 that require Office and Project without
    Visio.
Currently, when I attempt a second virtual deployment of one of these components, it removes Office 2013 making it inaccessible.
How can Project and/or Visio be deployed to an already existing virtually deployed Office 2013?
    Thanks very much.

As a part of MDOP, you'll also have access to UE-V which will provide a mechanism of moving user preferences across the same applications from difference packages.
It will require planning, configuration and deployment, but will ensure you don't face the same issue in the future.

  • Add-In for Virtualized Outlook 2013

I have downloaded the App-V 5 SP2 version of Office 2013 by following the instructions on the Microsoft site
http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn481351.aspx?ocid=wc-bl-sprblog and the applications are loading successfully. But when I tried to add Enterprise Vault using a connection
group, the add-in does not load when Outlook 2013 is opened. I can see the App-V connection group folder as well as the EV client folder, but the add-in is not available in Outlook.
I followed the instructions on the following sites for updating Add-Ins in virtualized office 2013, but still the add-in is not available in Outlook 2013.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2013/07/25/app-v-on-that-failed-office-add-in.aspx
    http://www.the-d-spot.org/wordpress/2014/01/14/app-v-5-error-publish-connection-groups/
A separate App-V 5 SP2 package of Enterprise Vault was linked to the Office 2010 SP2 package using a connection group and it loads successfully.
Any idea what could be blocking the add-in from loading when Outlook 2013 is opened?

  • Need a hint for home office / 871 does not support port-security - FPM ?

    Hi,
i want to realize the following setup:
    - Central Site 871 with Internet Connection and static IP
    - Home office 871 with Internet Connection and static IP. On that home office router, there should be 2 Vlans: 1 for the office work and one for the user's private PC. All Traffic from the "office" Vlan is being put into a VPN to the central site. All Traffic on the other interface is being natted and goes straight to the internet.
To minimize security issues, i tried to configure port-security, so that the user cannot connect with his private PC to the office LAN ports and vice versa. Unfortunately, port-security seems not to be supported on the 871 (advanced ip services image).
Now i looked for an alternative...and came over to FPM (flexible packet matching).
If i understood right, you can classify packets for example by their source MAC address and if this field matches a specific value (the mac of the work pc), packets can be dropped by a policy.
Of course i cannot avoid that the user connects the work pc together with his private pc (this is then related to the OS Security to keep out viruses, worms, trojans, etc). But i could/want to restrict the internet access with the work pc through "normal" Internet access - the users should not be able to do that (must use the company's proxy).
    I did the follwing config:
    class-map type access-control match-any c2
    match start l2-start offset 48 size 6 regex "0xabcd1234fedc"
match field ETHER source-mac regex "abcd1234fedc"
    policy-map type access-control p2
    class c2
    drop
    interface Vlan1
    ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0
    ip nat inside
    ip virtual-reassembly
    service-policy type access-control input p2
    service-policy type access-control output p2
As this feature is quite new, i'm not familiar with it's syntax.
I also tried to use "string" instead of regexp, but i'm still able to connect the office pc to the private Lan and i am able to access the "Internet" (currently it's only setup in a lab).
As i understood so far, the offset is the value in bits, and size is in bytes. is that correct?
Has anyone yet some experience with FPM or maybe any hint for me how to realize the requested setup with the 871 routers?
    bets regards,
    Andy

For the FPM feature to work you will need PHDF files for the protocols you want to scan for to be loaded on your routers. The files can be downloaded from cisco's website. In your case you will have to download ether.phdf file.

  • Clustering Virtual Office and Netstorage Services in a DMZ

    Gudday Guys,
We are relative novices with implementing Virtual Office and Netstorage
but we currently have it set up to front end our student storage system.
As the system will support 40,000 students, we are looking to move from a
single server implementation to a cluster with it running on at least two
servers to share the load. In addition, in order for students to access
their files from home, we intend deploying the cluster into the DMZ and
using SSL to connect from outside.
Before we set this up, I have a few questions. Firstly, can we set the
cluster up in its own tree so that its replication etc can be confined in
the DMZ or are we forced to set it up in our existing tree which is where
the users and storage reside? We could then pass the authentication
traffic through the conduits to our replica servers. If we can do this,
    are there any special tricks/tips?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bill G.

    > access to the DAs in the other tree. Any Thoughts?
you need to open up more ports. The client uses a "high" port as the source
port and 427 as the destination port when talking SLP. The DA will respond
to the client's source port. The source port from the server will be 427 but
the destination port will not be. You will need to open ports from the
client to allow high ports. 1024 to <whatever> is the normal range.
<whatever> supposedly never goes over 1500 or so.
NETSTAT -A will show you what its using.

  • RSR_OLAP_BADI for virtual characteristics not getting triggered!!!

I am facing a strange problem and am a little pressed for time to solve the same. Any help/guidance related to this will be highly appreciated.
I am working on BI 7.0. I have two implementations of the BADI RSR_OLAP_BADI for virtual characteristics,
    (1) say A, that we implemented as a proof of concept with filter as multiprovider M1
    (2) say B, that in implemented with filter as multiprovider M2
Both were working fine and I was able to put breakpoints inside the code and debug whenever required. I had used it till last week and everything was fine.
Today, I had to change implementation B due to a new requirement. So a new characteristic was added to M2 and the code in B was extended at appropriate places to fill this new virtual characteristic also. However, even though the change was successfully activated and the BADI looked fine, it was not triggered when the query was executed. I checked with another query on M2 which was the query for which the implementation was initially made. For that also the BADI is not getting triggered. I put break points in the define, initialize and compute methods but none are hit during the query execution!
I further ran the queries on M1, which shud have called the implementation A. Then also the BADI is not getting triggered. Please note that implementation A, multiprovider M1 or the queries on it were not changed at all.
I really need to fix this issue at the earliest. What am I missing? Why are the BADIs not getting triggered eventhough the implementations are active, the BADIs are error free and the filters are correctly defined?
Are there any global settings that can turn off all BADIs?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Sarath

Further, when I created a fresh BADI implementation in a different system (a sandbox system), the BADI is working fine.
But in the Development system the BADIs are still not getting triggered. I made the exact same implementation as the one which worked in the different system.
Another point - when I see the Technical Information tab of queries from RSRT, or RSRT2  they have Virtual Characteristics/Key Figures "NO" in the development system.
For the queries in the prototype system in which the BADI is working this field in "Y".
Any idea how this is decided and how it can be changed to Y from NO?
One more strange thing is that there are other active implementation of this BADI used by other teams here and none of them are getting triggered. They are all active and were all working fine till the last few days!
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sarath

  • Vista, IE7 and Virtual Office (VO) or Remote Manager

A Windows Vista laptop (Vista Business Edition) is trying to browse to the Virtual Office web page published by their Novell SBS 6.5 server using IE7. Nothing appears in the browser. If I look at the source for the page, there is a bit of code showing, referencing a Java script. I get the same result when I try to use the Netware Remote Manager web page at http://servername:8008 or https://servername:8009. It is the same if I use the server's IP address instead of a resolvable name. The browser windows says "Connecting" and the status line shows "Waiting for 10.170.170.5"
I loaded up Firefox, and after allowing a Certificate Exception, I am able to browse to the server's Virtual Office page from the same computer.
I have installed the Certificate from the server into the Trusted Publishers container, I have set both the http://servername and https://servername into the trusted sites list.
What else do I need to do in Vista to get the web page to work?

The answer is to turn off TLS 1.0 in the Advanced Internet Options
    page.

  • Virtual Office Future Clarification

    I am confused.
I thought Novell was dropping virtual office in OES2 but the NetWare OES2
    (AKA SP7) still has it?
    Can someone clarify:
    1. The current future of Virtual office.
    2. What is Novell replacing it with?
Just to be clear in my opinion Teaming plus Conferencing is not a suitable
replacement. There are two reasons for this:
    1. It is a separate product we have to buy. Virtual office came with the OS.
    2. It is way more than we need. We use Virtual Office as a Single Sign On
portal to allow employee access to internal resources, i.e. GroupWise and
Net Storage. We never used any of the team stuff in VO.
If Novell's only replacement is Teaming plus Conferencing does anyone know
of a third party product that we could use in place of VO that would be a
    SSO portal to internal resources?
    Thanks for your help,
