Filters limitation in Performancepoint Services 2013

Hi Folks,
I am developing a dashboard which is having more no.of filter and each filter is having many no.of values. So, when try to apply all the filters and their values then I am facing an exception "Access is Denied".
Is there any limitation of filters for passing large no.of values?
And how PPS passes the filter values to web parts, using URL or any other way?

Configuration of PerformancePoint Service in SharePoint 2013

Recently I had configured Performancepoint Service in SharePoint Server 2013.
But i had struck while deploying it into SharePoint through the Dashboard Designer.(i.e.,Deploy option has disable in Dashboard Designer).
So,Could any one help me to produce further steps.

Pass Parameter Through REST API into PivotChart in Excel Services 2013

Is it possible to pass a parameter through the REST API into the filter of a PivotChart and return a filtered view of the chart? I've figured it out mechanically, and can pass the parameter in - but the chart doesn't refresh with the new filter.
For the record, I've looked at all of the online documentation on passing parameters and you'll note those all depict passing parameters into a table - not a PivotTable.
Curious if Excel Services 2013 has made any progress in that regard.

Performancepoint service application error

Hi,
I am new to SharePoint 2013, I have configured the PerformancePoint Service Application. When I tried to create the data source from the PerformancePoint Content section. I am getting the following error.
"Cannot connect to the PerformancePoint, contact the administrator"

This might be problem with PerformancePoint service application association.
Go to Central Administration -> Application Management -> Configure Service application associations.
Associate PerformancePoint Service application with your web application.
Hope this will resolve your problem.

PerformancePoint Service Event ID 1

I have already asked this once, And got not one reply.I begging anyone who can help to please shed some light on this..
"An exception occurred while rendering a Web control. The following diagnostic information might help to determine the cause of this problem:
Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Scorecards.BpmException: There was a problem setting the item location URL.
PerformancePoint Services error code 20700."
What I have tried:
Stopped Performance Point Service - Under Central Admin (Manage Service on Server) - must be set on auto start (its running)
Deleted Service application PoerformancePoint Service - Under Central Admin (manage Service Applications)
removed PPS from (parent) -> Site Settings -> Site Collection ADmin ->Site Collection features - PPS (deactive)
removed PPS from (parent) -> Site Settings -> Site Actions -> Manage Site Features - PPS (deactive)
removed PPS from (subsite) -> Site Settings -> Site Collection ADmin ->Site Collection features - PPS (deactive)
removed PPS from (subsite) -> Site Settings -> Site Actions -> Manage Site Features - PPS (deactive)
I've tried everything I could possibly think of to stop these events, and it still occurs, and I can't replicate it...
Is there some way I can generate what "web parts" "templates" "Sites" "ANYTHING" that is using this service so I can stop it?!?!

1) Is there no way to setup and configure SharePoint 2010 without PerformancePoint Services?
It's apparent that these events are due to the fact that PerformacePoint was setup at one point and something failed.. and cause events to be generated... LOTS of events, which could be seen by our Monitoring server..
However my goal was to have the SharePoint 2010 FE server be clean of events, I was hopinh to achieve this by removing the PerformancePoint Service completely from the FE as currently Collective DashBoards, or anything using this service is not being used
in our SharePoint Enviro, so I'd rather not have this service until it comes time that we create and need Collective Dashboards....
But since I'm in literally dire disarray to have a clean event log on this server and my SharePoint skills are very very limited, I contiue to read up on these two services SecureStore and PerformancePoint and I keep getting confused in its complex setup
and requirements..
There are so many Tuts that tell you how to setup A performancePoint Service, PPS App, and link it to a App Proxy.. yada yada, but for instance, in the MS link you provided it stated:

I was finally able to get this to work once I had actaully logged onto the FE server with all the required credentials to do it, but simply running The SharePoint Management Console "AS a different user" wasn't sufficient to work... Even then I was
wondering how to verify that a set service account has required permissions, no no verify permissions cmdlet I could find, so I simply reran the command with the AD account we have setup for PerformancePoint Service, just to make sure I covered every step
in the link you provided me.
While everything completed without issue while setting up the Managed Service Account, Granting it access, starting the PerformancePoint service on the FE server, creating a new PerformancePoint Service Application, and putting it into the default proxy
service application associations, I know I'll prob still get events in the event log... Nothing I have ever done has been able to get me to get this to work... which is why I request any query that could led me to anything that attempting to use this service...

How are the "Key" string values encoded in PerformancePoint services Database ParameterValues table

As you know, performancepoint stores user selections for Filters in "ParameterValues" table in PerformancePoint Service database.
I noticed that UserValues/Key is encoded. Does anyone know what encoding scheme is used ? For example, I see below text in SerializedXml column for one of the records.

You'll probably find they are being passed with commas between the values. The system will only see the first value. You would need to get clever and concatenate values into a single string then get the function to break it apart in a loop.

Using filters in business connectivity services

I am now completely confused by the BCS filter option. I added a Business Data List to a page and connected it to my external content type. Then I have configured 2 filters in SPD:
LocationID = User input (comparison)
AND
Address = wildcard
Default value for both is null and I checked to ignore the Filter if the value is null.
When I search for Address contains "City Name" it correctly returns items with that city in the address but when I search for Location ID equals 12345 it returns all of the items.
How can I fix this?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you get all items when using filters in business connectivity services.
You need to make sure you define filter in external content type correctly.
If you refine the search results in the External Item picker, you can refer to:

PerformancePoint Services is not configured correctly but I'm Site administrator

Hi experts
I recenlty create a business intelligence site and set my active directory user as administrator.
I'm server and database administrator too.
but when I want to create a data source I get this error:
The Data source cannot be used because PerformancePoint Services is not configured correctly
I see some solution in then interent but some of them say that should set unattended user for performance point service.
I'm site administrator and Why I should set unattended user?

You should set the Unattended Execution Account if you don't want to set credentials for data sources.

Access Services 2013 high available on SQL 2012?

Hi,
Does anyone know how we get the randomly created databases from access services 2013 services high available on our SQL 2012 cluster?
For the SharePoint content databases, we use the ‘always on’ functionality of SQL 2012. This functionality is not supported for Access services 2013.

Failover clustering is a perfect solution for high availability.
A last additional question:
Now we using ‘Always On groups’. The 2 instances are located one a different physical location.With that configuration, we have a High available solution and disaster recovery solution.
If we going for a Failover Cluster we have a High Available solution, but we don’t have a disaster recovery solution anymore because everything is located on the same physical location.
We can configure SQL mirroring, but then we have the same behavior like the ‘always On Groups’.-> Not possible to delete db’s from SharePoint and not automatically mirrored when created a new access services 2013 db.
Is there any solution/configuration to accomplish this?

Access Services 2013 issue

Hi,
I have set-up Access Services 2013 and it's working well on a couple of non SSL web app's.
We have another 2 web app's that are configured for SSL and unfortunately Access custom web app's are not working on these.
The access app is created but when I try to browse to it IO get prompted for username and password and then I just get a white page. Can anyone help?
On the SSL sites, I was originally getting a http 404 error page but using the below article I created a new web app with no host header and setup for SSL for routing to the app domain.
ShjarePoint 2013 enterprise, 3 server setup, DB-App-WFE, March 2013 PU installed.

Modifying limits on systemd services

What is the preferred way to modify the limits on a service that runs under systemd?
In my case, I'm running btsync@username as a service, wherein the service will run as the user account, and I'm reaching the open file limit on multiple bittorrent shares when they attempt to sync.
I have tried temporarily changing the limits of the running process:
sudo sh -c "echo -n 'Max open files=8192:16384' > /proc/${pid_of_btsync}/limits"
This results in
sh: line 0: echo: write error: Invalid argument
I have tried adding this to /etc/sysctl.d/99-max-files.conf
fs.file-max = 100000
I have tried adding the following two lines to /etc/security/limits.conf:
* soft nofile 8192
* hard nofile 16384
Regardless of what I do, the proc limits file reflects the following:
Max open files 1024 4096 files
I'm going to guess that this is getting inherited from systemd since it's launching the service.
I don't need a permanent solution, as I only need enough file descriptors to get the initial sync across. Even then, I seem to be having problems implementing ANY solution, and if I ever were to launch a process that used a lot of descriptors, it would be good to know what the best way to go about this is.

PerformancePoint Services Filter in Sharepoint 2013

Hi,
In Sharepoint 2010, I could configure all the performancepoint webparts to use the connection of a performancepoint filter, so I didn't have to create a Dashboard object in Dashboard Designer and link the connections there.
In Sharepoint 2013 I don't see the connections option available in the webparts.
Is it managed somewhere else or was this option removed and now the only way to do it is through dashboard deployment?

According to your post, my understanding is that you could not see the connections option available in the PerformancePoint filter web part.
Did you click the “Edit Web Part” option?
After clicking the “Edit Web Part”, you could see the “Connections “ option on the web part as below.

Reg:PerformancePoint Service feature in SharePoint-2013

I am unable to use the custom site template to create a sub site in team site collection. while creating I am getting the following error. after activating "Performance Point Service feature" the issue is solved but some other site collections
with out activating this feature I can able to create sites using same custom template.Please guide me what is the cause behind on this.

PerformancePoint services are available only if you have installed Enterprise edition of SharePoint. If you have installed Standard or Foundation, then PerformancePoint is not available.
