Finacial statement report Comparison with Previous year in report painter

Hi Experts,
I am new to report Painter.I developed financial statement report in report painter with following data:
Table: FAGLFLEXT
Rows:GL Account Hierarchy(defined Manually)
General data selection: Ledger
Column 1: CCode,record type,version,period,fiscalyear
Column 2: Ccode,record type,version,period,fiscalyear
I tried various variables for fiscal year in both columns but in general data selection two fiscal year fields appeared and in output it is showing values according to only one fiscal year field in general data selection hence it is displaying values only in first columns and empty values in second column.
I hardcoded fiscal year values in both columns but still fiscal year field is appearing in general data selection and value input to that fiscal year results in displaying values in first column and empty values in second column in output.Please let me know where i went wrong.

period 01,02 2006 with period 01,02 2005-->for next period
period 01,02,03 2006 with period 01,02,03 2005 -->
after that...etc...
Note:
-i am having time char fiscal year/period
-now we are in period 02
-to get this year period i am using the variable,
"Cumulated to Last fiscal Year/Period" to restrict. so, this will give period 01 of this year.
- is there any standard variable to get last years period
- else, how to achieve this?

u can try with the Variable: Cumulated up to Current Fiscal Year Period 0FYTCFP.
i have not tried.its just an idea.
from sap help:This variable denotes an interval from period 1 of the current fiscal year to the current fiscal year period.

RKF1:
Quantity
0FISCPER restricted by 0FYTCFP / 0FYTLFP
RKF2:
Quantity
0FISCPER restricted by 0FYTCFP/0FYTLFP with offset '-1'.
and use respective text variables to view Fiscal year/period value accordingly in RKFs.

Monthlwise Income Statement with Previous Year Comparison

Hi
Good day to all.
The requirement is to create a Monthwise Income Statement for the Current Year with the Previous Year Comparative figures (and Average for Previous Year and Current Year thrown in).
We have designed this report using Report Painter using the Library 8A2 based on GLPCT Table.
We have been able to get the Monthwise figures for the current year.
Could somebody elaborate on how to achieve the following:
1. How to get the Previous Year Figures in the same report.
2. How to get the Average for the Current Period depending upon the Periods upto/for which the user chooses to run the Report? For example, the user must be enabled to run report for a range of Periods (for example Period 5 to Period 8) and the Report should average the totals using a denominator of 4).
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Compare month sales with previous year same month sales

hi all.
we need to compare given month of this year with same month of last year. we need to compare sales quantity and value.
the query is on 0RT_C40 multiprovider. We have tried all options using 0Calmon, calday, fiscal year... but whenever we specify offset, we are not getting data. there is valid data for previous year.
plz let us know what else to do? check with 0RT_C40.

Are you selecting the time period in a selection in columns or rows, or are you selecting the time period in the Filter or Free Characteristic area.
When you make the initial selection of say Period 11.2007 in the Free Characteristic area, and then within a selection but on an offset to derive 11.2006, the fact that you have made your selection of 11.2007 in the Free Char area will restrict the entire query results to this time period.
Both your picks on time should be in selections in the Columns or the Rows.

How to define the Previous Year Up to Date in BI 7?

Dear Expert,
I have got a BI 7 report requirement which needs to restricted a key figure with Previous Year Up to date.
I have found a time variable as Current Year Up to Date but not able to find the one for Previous Year Up to Date.
Is it possible that I can use it as below to restrict the Key Figure:
ZMP_CTYD (Current Year To Date) -1 (current year to date with the off set set to -1)?
If this is not a right way, could you let me know what is the correct way to restrict the Key Figure for Previous Year Up to Date?
Further information about the requirement:
I need to get the difference between current year up to date and previous year up to date for a key figure.
For example, to get the difference between the amout related to the preiod between Jan 1, 2008 and May 22, 2008 and the amount related to the period between Jan 1, 2007 and May 22, 2007.

Hi,
YTD and CTD are different. One is all the way till year end and the other one is through current period. One way of doing this is to define your restricted KF definition. You can use the existing Variable that you already have and insert / restrict posting period from 'time dimension" 1 - 16, in most cases there are 16 period, or 1 to "latest period" depending on what you have. The key here is your " POSTING PERIOD" restriction

Reporting with Time Variance (previous year vs current year)

Good day all.
I would like to ask for advice and help in terms of best way to make this report work:
Let's say I need to show the % variance between the Total Operating Costs per Gross sqft over different times periods (Previous year to Current Year). The trick is that data must be compared to the same data in the previous year, i.e. if we are in June of current fiscal year, the comparison must be between Oct-June of current fiscal year to Oct-June of previous fiscal year, not the full previous year. The report formula itself would be:
([TCO Exp/GSF PY] - [TCO Exp/GSF CY]) / [TCO Exp/GSF PY] * 100
My guess, I could define a static variable Current Year which developers would have to be changed every year. And then create logical columns: TCO Exp PY (where year=Current Year-1)...while writing this, I realized I'm wrong and there must be a more efficient way to do this. UPD: I've also thought about time-series function AGO, but I'm currently testing it, and I'm not happy with its performance...

Hi Wildmight,
The current value will be the value you will select from the table like you normally would do. These would be values per month if I am correct. Next to the column with the current value, you create an additional column with the AGO function in it.
Now you will have the current value and next to it the value of the required period ago. You won't need any static variables.
Let me give you an example for the last three months.
Period CY PY
jan-08 50 30
dec-07 40 20
nov-07 45 25
In this case the value 20 corresponds to the period dec-06.

Crystal report formulas to view revenue for current & Previous Year

We have a requirement to create a formula in crystal reports to display the current month revenue and previous month revenue along with few dimensions and also current fiscal year revenue and previous year.
For ex on SAp ecc table CE11000.

Here's the structure of table i have fields like Currency type,Document Number,Fiscal year , Company code,country, Countrygrp,Document type, Sales quantity & Revenue.
My requirement is to display Revenue for current Fiscal Year and Previous Fiscal year and aswell as Current Month And previous month in the same report.
Is there any functions to create a formula to display data on above mentioned logic.

You need to look into periodic reports. Here is the best one to provide the copmarision between two period -
S_ALR_87099932.
Go into the report & select the costing runs taken in two diffrent periods. You will get all the required results of prices for two periods/costing runs.

Time Dimension _ Report on Current month and previous year.TOTAL

My Time dimension is as under .
July2013, Aug2013 ,......Jan2014,,,. June2014 = 2014.TOTAL
My requirement is to report based on context view along with previous period total (.TOTAL) values.
For example : If i am using CV as : 2013.JUL my report should show 2013.JUL & 2013.TOTAL
If i am using CV as : 2014.JUN my report should show 2014.JUN & 2013.TOTAL
Can anyone provide some direction to build the above scenario

Hi,
do you have the property YEAR in your time dimension filled out? If so, you could use EPMDIMENSIONOVERRIDE function together with an Excel cell.
Let me build an example:
Assuming your report has two columns, one for the current month and one for the total year. I would split this into two, one report per month, i.e. column. The first report will show the current period, the second the total. Somewhere in the header of your sheet use:
EPMDimensionOverride("001";"TIME";EPMMemberProperty(;EPMContextMember(;"TIME");"YEAR")&".TOTAL")
001 is the default ID of the second report.

In report painter GRR3 1VK Actual Value picked up from previous year

Dear Experts,
In report painter GRR3 > 1VK
1. Column of Actual Quantity to take in Basic Key Figure from Statistical Quantity
2. The value is 4 (Actual) and Version is 0
I found that the Actual value appeared are actually taken from the previous fiscal year. I have checked the line items and their document posting date it shown as last fiscal year.
In this case, where should I amend to have the report pick up only actual value of this fiscal year? or Is there any value to maintain for GRR3 to pickup the current fiscal year actual posting?

hi..
Goto GRR3 > click on Lib 1VK it will show you all the report in 1VK library > select your report & double click on it
It will display the report format. Then go to Edit at the top. you will find General data selection.click on it you will find available characteristics. Then goto GRR2 for making any change/selection for Fiscal year char
If your report is a standard one you can not change. then copy the report from GRR1 and make the changes.
You can also see the char in GR23 by selecting 1VK lib.

How to populate the data or details of only the present year and the previous year with respect to the given RATNG?

Hi All,
I have created a form with 5 blocks (namely ENQACMHDR, ENQACMDTL, ENQACEHDR, ENQACEDTL, ENQACSPEC), where i have 8 push buttons (namely ENTER_QUERY, EXEC_QUERY, CLEAR, FIRST, NEXT, PREVIOUS, LAST & EXIT).
This form is created just for viewing purpose only. So after I execute, all the blocks have been blocked against insert & update.
I query on 2 fields that is 'ENQNO' and 'RATNG' (Both the fields belong to the block ENQACMDTL).
When I click on 'EXEC_QUERY' directly, all the data of all the years populates.
But the user wanted the data to be populated from only the present year and the previous year.
So , on 'WHERE Clause' of the property_palette of 'ENQACMDTL' block , I put in the following condition:
SUBSTR(ENQACMDTL.ENQNO, 1,4)=TO_CHAR( ADD_MONTHS(SYSDATE,-12) , 'YYYY') OR SUBSTR(ENQACMDTL.ENQNO, 1,4)=TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'YYYY')

Now the data of only the present year and the previous year is being populated. Its ok with the field of 'ENQNO'.
The problem is when i query on field 'RATNG' . 'RATNG' is a Text_item with Number of Items displayed=5. (5 rows)
The following are 2 columns of a Table (Name=ENQACMDTL) in Database.

The first 4 numbers of 'ENQNO' denotes the year. There are more than a lakhs of records.
So when i query on the field 'RATNG',
Example:For RATNG=500KC2;
I click on ENTER_QUERY, On the field of 'RATNG' , i put in the value 500KC2 and click on EXEC_QUERY; Details with respect to 500KC2 is displayed as well as all the other unwanted RATNG like 750KC6, 1000KC2 (which belongs to the ENQNO of the present year and the previous year) also gets displayed.
I want details of only RATNG (500KC2) to be displayed, but only of the present year and the previous year, that is 2013900054, 2012520109 (ENQNO).
Other than 500KC2 RATNG, no other RATNG must be displayed.
The RATNG=500KC2 is also present for ENQNO=2011540036 , 2006900072. But I dont want these to be displayed.
I want only the data or details of the present year and the previous year to be displayed or populated with respect to the given RATNG.
Can You Help me or tell me what do i do for this?

On key-exeqry you have to program. Delete all other trigger codings for checking your condition.
It dint work on key-exeqry.
I tried key-exeqry on form trigger, block (enqacmdtl) and also on field(:enqacmdtl.enqno) , but none of them worked.
It did not display the message.
I have a 'PUSH-BUTTON:EXEC_QUERY.
For EXEC_QUERY, Trigger : WHEN_BUTTON_PRESSED;
I added the following code:
if to_number(substr(:enqacmdtl.enqno,1,4))<to_number(to_char(add_months(sysdate,-12),'YYYY')) then
     message('The Rating is not present for the present year and the previous year');message(' ',no_acknowledge);
     raise form_trigger_failure;
else

It is working fine and the message is being displayed.
But again I have a new problem and that is;
On the field :enqacmdtl.enqno, when i enter the '2013%' and press 'EXEC_QUERY', it works fine.
but when i enter '2006%' and press 'EXEC_QUERY', it shows the following error
FRM-50016: Legal characters are 0-9 - +E. It does not display the message also.
but when i enter the complete number, '2006580002', then it works fine , that is it displays the message (The Rating is not present for the present year and the previous year).
The problem is because of '%', only when i put in the restricted data (which does not satisfy where condition).
How do i solve this?

This reprot gives you the calender year dates but we are actually for for fiscal year date and period.
Example
asset acquired on 05/01/2009 calender year
our fiscal year will be 02/01/2010. ( April to March).
we need to generate reports that shows second dates ( fiscal year 02/01/2010) and your mentioned report shows only caldender year( 05/01/09). advice if know any report

Date Picker with Previous and Next Year Options

Hi All,
I am implementing a date picker in my application which is tied to an attribute of type PA0001-BEGDA. Date Picker as such works fine but navigating to previous year and Next year options are not available. User has to go month by month to different years if they have to navigate.
Is this the normal behavior of the Date Picker or am I missing something else to get the previous and Next year icons in the Date Picker.

hmm..I tried using the select options and it did give the same date picker with the previous and Next navigation icons...The only problem with the select options is that its a single field which has the range and can accept multiple values too...
I tried to figure out how the date picker that we use in the custom application and the one in Select Options differ but no luck...Does this ring any bell?
