Final Cut Pro 3 upgrade from ebay

I just received an ebay purchased box of FC3 upgrade. It loaded up fine but I can not get past the registration. I key in the numbers provided and I can't send it on.
Have I been ripped off? Is there a way around this?
The box had all of the manuals, tutorial, the cute little keyboard labels. It did not have any instructions on how to do the upgrade in paper form.
What do I do with this?

The serial numbers are always in sets of 3 letters then 3 numbers... so zero's look like Oh's and one's can look like L's.. so be careful there...

Make sure you are using the same Apple ID and password you used to originally purchase Final Cut X.
If you are running Lion v10.7 as your profile suggests, installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) will reinstall the App Store for you which may help.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed and try to update the software.

Command to Export project as Final Cut Pro XML from jsx script

Can somebody get me the command to export the project as final cut pro xml from jsx script.
I was using the extension builder script earlier for cs6 panel development, so we were using pjct.exportFinalCutProXML("pathname");
Now I am working for panel in Premiere CC so working on HTML 5 panel and qe dom scripting(.jsx).
In some jsx examples i got there is script to export sequence as final cut pro xml but cannot get the code for project export.
project.activeSequence.exportAsFinalCutProXML(entire_out_path);
Also please let me know if there are any kind of reference available about all the functions and properties in the pe dom scripting for premiere pro cc.
I am using premiere pro cc 7.1, windows 7, Eclipse Kepler.

When you reimport the exported project XML to FCP, do you get the full project or just the single bin/sequence? If you get the full project then it sounds like you need Premiere help, not FCP help ... have you tried asking on the Adobe forums? If you only get the single bin/sequence then it seems you might have inadvertently selected those prior to creating the project export. Try making sure that your FCP Browser window is active and that you have not selected anything within that window prior to using the File > Export > XML command. If that still causes issue then you might try using an earlier FCP XML version.

You can drag your images to the timeline, select all, ctrl-d and set the duration to 3 frames by typing 3 and enter.
Or you can use Quicktime 7 to "open image sequence", select the desired duration, export your animation to quicktime and import that into FCP X for further editing.

Upgrade Path to Final Cut Pro X from Final Cut Studio 3.0 (FCP 7)

Hello List,
We have 36 educational licenses of complete Final Cut Studio 3.0 (Final Cut Pro 7 with its components) since Apple have gone to the new version, can we upgrade this software from FCP 7 to FCP X? for our collage? or there is NO update path and we need to purchase FCP X a fresh? will FCP 7 work with Lion OS 10.7.X? lastly is there any educational discount for FCP X?

I just want to be absolutely sure that I qualify for the upgrade. I purchased Final Cut Studio 5 on my old power pc (not intel) using 10.4.11. I believe the discs are universal but my question is this. I'd like to buy a new power mac and just the FCS upgrade. Will I qualify even though my FCP version is from the power pc/10.4.6 days? In other words, can I install from scratch on a new power mac just the upgrade disks or do I need the original FCS 5 disks for complete installation?

Help. What format is best to export to for Final Cut Pro editing from PPCS5?

Ok. So I really have no experience with Final Cut. After reading online for an hour about what formats to use, I was still left with no clear answer and confused. Here's my issue: I have 1080i 60i .tod files from my JVC ready to be batch exported from CS5 Encoder, I need a format that will be read and able to be edited on Final Cut Pro without issue.
Could someone with Final Cut experience please chime in:

Are you using Premiere on the same Mac that FCP is on? If so, your best format choice is QuickTime and codec choice would be ProRes422. If, however, you're on a different Mac or on a PC instead, I'd suggest QuickTime with the freely available, cross-platform Avid codecs. You'd probably want to use DNxHD, in that case.
The Avid codecs are great because, well, they're free, but more importantly, they're available for both decoding AND encoding on Mac and PC. ProRes, on the other hand, only has an encoding component for Mac, and it has to have FCP installed on it.

Hello,
After lots of problems with Pinnacle Studio 10 (windoooooows.....) I finally chose to change for final cut pro HD on Mac OS 10.3.9
So far so good, I did lots of tutorials to learn but there is one very remarkable thing I really miss. Maybe there is just a thing in my configuration to fix...
Is it possible to view a part of a movie without randering it after every simple change? It must be technically possible because studio does it for years now, even with overlays.
Because I just upgraded my ibook with lots of RAM just to try out final cut for the moment, everything runs fine but rendering does take a few minutes/hours.... Well it is ok just to try out maybe I would get a macbook pro if final cut would assure me.
I feel like cutting blind!
Studio renders right before exporting, this may take a few hours but I would do this during night...
As I said, maybe its all my fault and I just have to change some configurations....

Make sure your RT settings (upper left menu in the timeline) is set to UNLIMITED RT. This means that the render settings will be adjusted to play back at the best resolution they can without rendering. You might get a green render bar or orange render bar. If you get a red render bar, that means that you have a filter or two that isn't RT and requires a render, or you have too many layers to allow for RT playback.
If you simply drop a raw clip into the timeline and have to render, that means something is wrong. Your clip settings and sequence settings don't match. You need to choose an Easy Setup that matches your footage, then create a new sequence.
