5.1.4. Help!
I have the same issue... I had to re-install FCP 5.0.4 on my powerbook and now cannot upgrade to FCP 5.1.4-- even after putting in my serial number... I keep getting re-directed to BUY the Studio 2 version. Anyone know of a work around for this?
I can't open any of my Final Cut 5.1.4 projects. And I keep getting an error message each time I try.

  • My final cut pro will not update on my iMac, it will update on my Macbook.

my final cut pro will not update on my iMac, it will update on my Macbook. I have OS X Yosemite on both systems, my macbook has final cut pro x version 10.1.4 and my iMac shows no updates available and is on version  10.1.1. I have tried looking in iTunes for the same update that is installed on my macbook under the same iTunes account, but it doesn't show any updates. I tried deleting from my iMac and it won't delete so I can reinstall it. any suggestions?

You need to be logged into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID in order to see your updates. You speak about iTunes: maybe you meant that just as an expression to refer to your Apple ID, but just in case you didn't: you do NOT use iTunes to download mac software. You use the App Store application, available under the Apple menu.

Final Cut Pro will not update after new os and compressor will not run until the update is done. System shows no updates available

    Sorry for being unclear.
When I am using the update in the App Store App, there will be a list of various applications that have updates to be installed (Final Cut Pro will be in this list).  I will already be logged in with the Apple ID I use for everything (my dev account).  I will be able to update all of the other various applications needing updating except for my Final Cut Pro.  When I click the update button next to the FCP update, it will give me an error saying  "This download is not available for this apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled"
I have not had any applications refunded or cancelled and this has only happened since my update to Yosemite.  FCP was working fine until the upgrade.  Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

  • Final Cut Pro X - software update issues

    Hi,
I’m trying to update my Final Cut Pro X software on my Mac and I keep getting the following error message:
    An error has occurred.
    The operation couldn’t be completed
    (NSURLErrorDomain error – 1102.)(102)
Does anyone know what this means? And, how can I resolve it?  I can’t export my projects out of Final Cut Pro either and keep receiving the error message (error -1); which I think is related to the software needing an update.
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Alicia

that error code in human language means 'no read permission'
Are you logged-in with your Account, you purchased the installed version of FCPX with?
Are you using a purchased version or the trial version?

  • Final Cut Pro X not updating

    Hey guys!
So I have Final Cut Pro 10.0.5 and I just realized I am 3 update behind. It's not showing up in my app store that it needs to be updated, but I know it does.
Is there anyway I can update it without going through the app store?
    Thanks!

    Tom-
If I recall I bought and installation disk called Final Cut Express. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Final Cut Express updated into Final Cut Pro X.

  • Final Cut Pro 5.1 update.

Does anyone know why I am not able to update from 5.0.4 to 5.1.

This updater is only able to update an existing Final Cut Pro 5.1 application. Please make sure the application is located in the Applications folder, and is called "Final Cut Pro".
It is in the app folder and its in final cut pro. I dont know what the **** is going on. Please help

I just saw a user report at MacUser forums that the deadline may have been extended.
I'm not suggesting that anyone put off doing it right now, but if you think you may miss the mailing deadline, a call to Apple Sales in you area might pay off.
    North America:

Just off the phone with the Apple Software Upgrade office in South Bend Indiana and she tells me that due to overwhealming response to their Pro Applications Crossgrade and Upgrade offers to UB versions of Final Cut Studio, Shake, Logic and Logic Express, they have decided to extend the deadline all the way to March 19 2007.

  • Final Cut Pro won't update

My Final Cut Pro X software won't update from 10.0.3 to 10.0.4
Has this occured to anyone else?
How do i solve my problem?

Did the update show as available to you for download when you went to App Store>FCP? Did it download but not install? Check Applications to make sure FCPX is not "hiding" in a folder.

  • Will Final Cut Pro 7 be updated for retina capabilities like X?

I'm getting the retina Macbook Pro and I was wondering if they were going to upgrade FCP7 for retina capability just as they did X. I like 7 a lot better than X. Do you guys know?

I like it.  I use it.  It's still my favorite NLE.
But Apple is done with FCP 7.  There will be no update for it...not even for Retina displays.  It is done.

Russ, Adam, thank you very much!
First, I deleted the flexiolibrary, then the library opened in FCPX, but there were missing projects. Then I launched the latest backup and all worked well.
    Thank you veeery much again!

  • New Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro Updates...

There's new updates for Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro on Software Update.
They seem to have fixed the problem I was having with one of my giant old projects. I used to have to open one of the audio projects before my multitrack project would open, but now it opens just fine. So far so good!

    Hi Collings,
Looks like there are two threads about the recent FCP & STP updates, so I'm posting my findings here, too.
I just found another thing that appears to be fixed in STP 1.0.2:
    Batch normalize is working:
I have a bunch of aif files that I want to normalize. I opened one in the waveform editor, applied process->normalize (level=0dB), then selected File->Save as Applescript--this creates an Applescript droplet. Then I can then grab a whole bunch of audio files and drop them all onto this droplet and they all get normalized correctly. This is a huge timesaver for me. Before this update, using this approach to batch-normalize a set of files seemed to deliver unpredictable results, but I just ran a whole set of files through, and they all played back with a peak level of 0dB (and no clipping).
Here are the other things that I've noticed so far with STP 1.0.2:
    Automation:
-In STP 1.0.1, Automation was not applied correctly on project sample rates that were not supported by the hardware (e.g. play a 96K project on a laptop built-in 48K audio interface and the automation was late by 2X) -- this is fixed!!! YAY!
-STP 1.0.1 did not handle long automation ramps across long periods of silence (it would sometimes cause a glitch at the start of the clip right after the automation ramp--there is even a support article about this)--it seems like they fixed this one, too.
    Sample rate switching:
-I see an option in general preferences to allow me to disable the "Switch hardware sample rate to match document", and with this disabled, I no longer get audible clicks from my audio interface when I switch tabs. Plus, switching tabs seems faster to me.
Realtime effects and automation in audio file projects:
-They've added a warning to inform folks about the need to bounce realtime effects and automation to an action--if you are in an audio file project with realtime effects that have not been bounced to an action and you try to save, you get a warning message.
Has anyone else noticed any other fixes or changes in this update?

  • ITunes and Final Cut Pro 4.5

Everything was fine: OS 10.3.9. G5, Dual Processor. Final Cut Pro 4.5
Updated both iTunes and QuickTime. Trouble! Longer clips wouldn't capture, batch or any method.
So, I go back to QuickTime 6.5.2. That fixes the problem with capturing video clips.
But now, when I try to import my music library CD, I can't. I can do it through iTunes, import into Final Cut, but when I attempt to place it into the Timeline, it shows me 3 tracks...and the red line, as if they were needing to be rendered.
When I play, I get the "beep, beep, beep."
I am bringing them as AIFF files.
    Any help?

You can use QuickTime to convert the CD's audio tracks (AIF, 44.1khz, 16 bit) into AIF, 48khz, 16 bit.
If you want to use iTunes for this, set the correct audio sampling rate (48khz) in iTunes' preferences.

  • HDC-SD9, iMovie 7.1.2, QuickTime 7.5, and Final Cut Pro

After I read the post, I tested it on my Mac. I can safely say that I can import videos from HDC-SD9 using iMovie and Final Cut Pro now.
Update to QuickTime 7.5 and iMovie 7.1.2 to make this camera work with the Mac.
It seems to be working with Final Cut Pro too.
