  • Final Cut Pro X Not Exporting

I am a brand new mac user, and I only upgraded for the use of editing with the software Fincal Cut Pro. The program does everything it's supposed to whilst I edit, but I'm done edititng now and I can't get the file to export. I click on the "share" button and then the "export media" button, the computer loads for half a second, and then it does nothing. Nothing. What do I need to do to get my file to export?
I have Final Cut Pro 10.0.3 and am using the operating system Mavericks 10.9

Kristin - sound like you're doing everything correctly.  I nmoticed you're somehow on the latest OS but using a very old version of FCPX.  I kinda wonder if that might affect your results.  Typically people who are running Mavericks would be on a more recent release of FCPX (I think?)
Do you have compressor?  Do you see an option to "Send to Compressor"?  I know it is possible to do a trial of FCPX so perhaps it might be possible to trail Compressor.  If so, try sending your project to Compressor and select a setting and destination for your project and see if that works.
Sometimes when you try something and report back, others who are very experienced will jump in with solutions.

  • Final Cut Pro X is exporting video with horizontal lines?

I filmed a show with 2 different cameras (one is a canon vixia, the other is a canon dos 7D, i realize the quality is different for them) and I used the multi cam editor to match h up the clips and audio file to switch back and forth. I think i created proxy media to use for the multi cam clip. Whenever i export my movie, the movie plays with horizontal lines, and whenever there is faster motion, the person gets blurred. What is making final cut pro x export like this? How do I fix this? I've tried exporting with Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy), and H.264, but all video files have the lines going through it and the motion is a bit blurry. Please help me!!

There are quite a few Vixia models from Canon; which is yours?
Without looking at the image, it's not certain, but your description sounds like interlaced footage displayed on a computer. The 7D only shoots progressive, so it's possible your other cam was set to record interlaced. If your first clip placed on the timeline was an interlaced clip, FCP would automatically set the project to interlaced.
In a addition to your model #, what would be useful is to select one of the Vixia clips in the browser and then to take a screen shot of the top  part of the Info pane.

  • Final Cut Pro X: cancelled exporting process, file still on computer, but where?

    HI!
I was exporting a project  from Final Cut Pro X, but I cancelled to process. I had chosen to save the file to external storage. My computer was processing the file to my computer and now after canceling  there is file with size over 30 gigabytes  on my computer but I don't have any idea where it is?
I was exporting the project using compressor settings -not the best one choice, but the only thing I want now is to find the missing file and delete it.
Share monitor gives me message: 3x Source file /var/folders/b4/y9pp857j2dx5mq4yp6nw3gqm0000gn/T/259EE137-52C2-47CD-AA69-DFAEB7 37E3B7.export-seq-id not found
Thanks a lot of your help!
           Christer

    Hi,
I didn't change the file name in the Save dialogue box and yes -I have certainly searched with spotlight and used all kind of methods to find the file.
And there hasn't ever been any problems when canceling the process before this time.
But I know much more after diagnostics in Apple repair service in Apple Authorized Service Provider (or what ever is the right term...). Like I wrote before, it's possible there are failures on hard drive and if the file has somehow got to the damaged place on hard drive, it's may be impossible to find the file without professional help. That's maybe not
very common issue, but still possible. It will take week or more before I get their answer.
I just hope I would have Final Cut on my iPhone....

  • Final cut pro problem when exporting with quicktime movie

    Hello!
I must have som help beacuse my musicmovie must be finsihed untill today. I have a movie their i had used filters like colour correction and interlace. When i export with USING QUICKTIME CONVERSION and have
    keyfram 10
    bitrate 6000
    faster encode
    size 1920x1080 HD 16:9
its not a problem the movie works fine all the way.
But when i export with QUICKTIME MOVIE it dosent work. Some clips are frozen and some are beeing misscoloured. None of them have interlace. Its the same clips that dosent work everytime i had export with QM. I have tried to replace these clips but the same thing is happening. I dont understand why i cant use quicktime movie but it works with quicktime conversion.
If you have an e-mail i can send you just the part where this happening.
    Please help me!
    Thanks Gabriel

I am also expriencing the same error. Tried every solution listed so far:
    1. Switch off background rendering. Trash render files. Don't render. Export.
    2. copying the project within Final Cut Pro into another project
    3. remove the following folder: Library > Application Support > ProApps > MIO > RADPlugins > XDCAMFormat.RADPlug
Nothing worked. I try to export to Vimeo, YouTube, and master. All error right at 9%
    What's going on?

  • Final cut pro x - error exporting "QuickTime Error: -50"

I am trying to export a video and getting an error saying: the share operation master file has failed. QuickTime Error: -50
can someone help me with it please?

One potentially easy fix, right click on Final Cut Pro dot app and Get Info. Check the Prevent App Nap box.

  • Final Cut "Pro" and Crappy Export

Okay, I tried my first export from this alledged "professional" application to see whether problems I'm experiencing are issues with real-time rendering (or lack thereof) or truly how the final movie will be, and it turned out awful.  There are areas where the video simply stalls (while the audio keeps going), inconsistent framerate, dropped frames, still having "stereo" audio playing as mono, and I find myself wondering why $300 was charged for such garbage.  The settings I used are 1920x1080 | 29.97 fps | 5.1 (L R C LFE Ls Rs) | 48 kHz | QuickTime movie.  The program is horribly slow (nearly constant beach balling), doesn't render per user specifications, and I now don't have much faith in its ability to export a movie properly. Are people really using this application for making quality movies, or is there something else (better) I should be using instead...?  Or is it my machine?  I'm using a MacBook "Pro"...maybe I should get an iMac?  Will the movie play differently from YouTube than from my harddrive?

Thanks, I wanted to know if it's my setup or if the types of issues I'm having are common.
    Computer:  MacBook Pro 15", OS X 10.9.2 (13C1021)
Processor:  2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory:  8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics:  AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256 MB
Storage:  344.34 GB free out of 499.25 GB
I don't know why the forum shows me as OS X Mavericks (10.9.1) because my system is actually 10.9.2.
My FCPX project is currently 11.42 GB with 16314 frames at 1920x1080, 29.97 fps, 5.1 Surround 48kHz.  There are many connected clips and some intense Motion animations, but none of that should affect the performance of a final exported movie in QuickTime Player.
    Problems I'm experiencing include:
    - Nearly constant "beach balling" (severe application lag, with the only running applications being Mail, Safari, and Final Cut Pro)
    - Dropped video frames and dropped audio during every playback (and suprisingly also in the exported movie)
    - Clips configured as "Stereo" audio playing instead as left-channel mono (and when switching to "Dual Mono" their sound is only in the right-channel, and "Reverse Stereo" having no effect - audio still only left-channel)
    - Unstable audio (clips that played fine as stereo audio yesterday have a channel missing today - with no changes to their settings)
    - Intermittent playhead movement during playback (very spotty and delayed movement)
After spending 6 months on 9 minutes of video (I'm meticulous, and every frame includes some sort of video or audio effect...and the application's awful performance REALLY slows me down), I'm understandably frustrated with such unacceptable performance from an alledged "professional" application.

  • Final Cut Pro does not export

I'm having problems exporting with Final Cut Pro. When I go to the share menu, export movie simply does nothing, and if I try to export directly to vimeo or apple devices, it gives me this error: com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1. I checked in Applications and I have compressor, and if I open it, it works just fine. Already disabled the app nap in both final cut and compressor and it solved nothing.

You don't need to render before export.
    Rendering is for playback.
If your project plays OK from the storyline, you can safely turn off rendering in preferences.

  • Final Cut Pro Batch List Exporting

I tried to export a batch list from Final Cut Pro and import it into Excel, and it worked fine, except all the information in the Comment 1 colum isn't there. What could be the problem?

  • Final Cut Pro- Video stops exporting at 33% in H.264 format to a USB.

I have made a video using Final Cut Pro which is 51 minutes in length. Some of the clips were filmed using iPhones, whereas some of the clips were filmed using a Sony phone. The clips have all been placed together using Final Cut Pro and effects+music have been added. When I try to export the video to a USB in the format of H.264, it reaches 33% then just disappears from the background processes box. I have repeatedly tried to export the video to different places to see if the USB was the issue, but it keeps stopping at 33%. I looked at a forum which said some people had an issue whereby they found a clip which was dodgy and had to be deleted for the video to successfully export. I tried to delete the correct video clip to see if that worked, and the export then reached 37% but then stopped. The issue could be that the clips filmed on the Sony phone have to be deleted in order for the video to successfully export, however I would rather not delete all of the clips as they are an important part of the video. Also, the video must be able to play on a TV so I have some USBs which are 16GB as the video is 8.9GB. But is H.264 the correct format? Please help!

That depends on the television set (s). There is no universal standard. Definitely check the TV manual (s).

  • Can I open Final Cut Pro X Archives, Events or Projects in iMovie?

I did  a trial version of FInal Cut Pro X for a month and imported some events, did some archiving and a couple of projects. I don't think I'll end up buying FCP X - at least not for now as Imovie seems to cover my needs. Is there a way for me to move these archives, events and/or projects to iMovie?

If you imported your media with transcoding or copy options, then you can recover those files from the Final Cut Events > EventName > Original Media folder (as long as they are not aliases to the originals.)  If you archived originals on Import you can retreive your media from the archive (looks like a film "can") by right-clicking and selecting Show Package Contents (you should see basically the same layout as is on your memory card in your camera.) Just go in and drag them out, then trash the archive. Other than that, the data saved in the Final Cut Projects folder is pretty useless for any other app.

  • Final cut pro fails to download from app store

Final cut pro X fails partway through downloading from app store. When I try to re initialize it immediately fails. Reboot creates the same result. I have 350gb available on this drive. It appears to consistently fail at around 2.2gb of download.

    Solution is:
    1) Close App Store.
    2) Open terminal and run: open $TMPDIR../C/
    3) Delete folder: "com.apple.appstore."
    4) If FCP file exists in the applications folder - delete that too.
    5) Launch App Store
    6) Restart downloads.
This worked for me and others as well.

  • Final Cut Pro 4:  Problems exporting video using QuickTime conversion

just recently updated my Mac to version 10.4.11 -
Ever since, Final Cut Pro won't let me Export my video using QuickTime Conversion.
Its starts exporting, then freezes at 79%. A general error message pops up.
I know its not a space issue, because I have 20GB left and the video i'm exporting is only 2 GB.
I installed all the software updates.
Can anyone help? Do I need a new version of Final Cut?

    1) this is the final cut express forum not the pro.
    2) 10.4.6 is not the latest, try updating to 10.4.11
    3) after any system update you must run disk utility to repair permissions or errors that may not have been addressed during the upgrade process.
    4) have you tried exporting as a reference movie then playing it in qtpro, if ok then export.
    5) what are you trying to export too?
