Final cut pro free online training

Is there an interactive training resource that I can learn online how to use final cut pro application?

The tutorials are interactive.
Short of that... if you google for FCP Tutorials you'll find a boat load. Some free... some not.
Good luck,

I am looking at a hard copy of Final Cut Pro X online that says it is version 10.0.8 I have the latest macbook Pro and I am wondering if that software is compatible with my laptop? Do Hard Copies of Pro X even exist? Is it stupid to try and buy this?

Online where exactly? Post a URL. The application is only legally available for purchase as a direct download from the App Store. Or are you talking about the trial version?

I recently installed older version of Imovie and final cut pro free trial now imovie 11 wont open what do I do?

Do you mean that the old version of iMovie (which version?) worked until you installed the FCP trial?
Note that you can only transfer projects from the latest version of iMovie (10) to FCP 10.1

  • How do I cancel my Final Cut Pro Free Trial?

I downloaded the 30 Day free trial for Final Cut Pro because I needed to work on a video project. However, I was able to figure something else out and realize now that I don't need FCP. Now I would like to end it before it times out and asks me to buy it. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Purcasing USED  Final Cut Pro software online

I found an ad on Cragslist for USED Final Cut Pro 4 software. The seller claims it is a NFR(not for resle) version and has limited upgrades.
Is this a legal transaction? I do not want pirate software.
    Thanks,
    Frank

Not legal NFR is exactly that = Not For Resell
    Hello?
Abiding by Apple's terms, you are allowed to legally transfer over the full version of software once provided all contents of Final Cut Studio are deleted from sellers computer and original disks along with serial number for full version are transferred to buyer. NFR, academic and full version FCS2 disks all look the same it's the serial number that makes the difference!
For attending the FCP T3 course I was given a NFR version of FCS2 by Apple although I have full version licenses already so the NFR is useless to me. I have thought about legally selling my full version but I know I'll want to upgrade later on which can not be done with the NFR version. Then again maybe Apple will give me a new NFR version if/when new version is released...

  • Final cut pro free trail kills my MacBook pro!

I have the late 2008 MacBook Pro will all the requirements this program requires, but it drains my memory down like 2 mb sometimes. Nothing I've read on the Internet has helped so far. Please tell me there is a fix cuz at this point I'm giving up. I add a title or drag and drop anything without delays and the playback is crazy slow. I've imported just one 20 min video from iMovie that is mostly still pics!  PLEASE HELP!!!

With your MacBook Pro, did you get a unit with the dual video processor? A while ago Apple started putting in two different video cards. One was for the mundane everyday stuff and the goal was to save power. On my MBP I have a Nvidia GeForce 9400M, I also have an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT which is much more robust for graphics power. The VRAM on the 9400 was only 256, with the 9600M GT it was 512. The bigger the GPU and the fast the GPU, the faster the MBP especially with FCP.
You can select the faster processor by going to system preferences and choose higher performance. It will require you to log out and log back in to use the different GPU. Also turn your harddrive to never sleep when you do this and you will see some improvement in speed and lag.
Another thing is to set up your projects on a fast external drive. If you try to keep source files and project files on the MBP drive you are begging for slowness.
    Good luck!

  • Final Cut Pro x10.2 training book

Does anyone know if there is an updated training book available for this version of FCP X? I just completed a course at an approved training center, and they provided me with the training book, but I've downloaded the new FCP X 30-day trial, and there are ample differences in the new version, apparently. An updated training book would be very helpful.
    Thanks!
    Michael

Don't sweat the small stuff. It will take you more than 30 days to get good at FCPX so the differences between the last and current revs are not really that big for you.
I confidently recommend Tom's book. Even though it's a bit out of date, the fundamentals he covers have not changed much.

  • Final Cut Pro X for amateurs?

I am an amateur. I have done some basic editing with windows movie maker and similar but recently became a mac owner. I don't want to waste 300 plus dollars on something that I will find frustrating and unusable. So I guess my question is this; How easy is it for an amateur to use? I have just purchased a "GoPro HD Hero 2" and I don't want what I can do to be limited by my editing software but, I also don't want to be pulling my hair out because I wasted $300 plus dollars on something to complex for me to work out. Please help. Do I buy it or not?

Well, you might like and try iMovie first, (should already be installed on your Mac)...
By far not as complex as FCP X, but it has certain similarities...
(some people even call FCP X iMovie on steroids... :-)
I changed over from iMovie to Final Cut Express a few years ago, highly enjoyed
the learning curve and the possibilities it provided...
Recently I changed to Final Cut Pro X, highly enjoyed the challenge to learn something new, after a few days everything was familiar again, and I never looked back...
This software is just absolutely amazing...
In combination with Motion 5, this package is nearly unbelievable...
Even FCP X is fairly sophisticated, and Motion 5 one can call indeed very complex.
I can only highly recommend both of them...
Watch a few of the introduction movies and in no time you’re ready to go...

  • HD video storage for Final Cut Pro HD suite

I'm looking at setting up a Final Cut Pro HDCAM online suite, and I need to know what RAID system would be best for video storage. My reseller has told me that SANman systems are much better than Apple Xserve RAIDs, because of the data transfer rates. Can anyone tell me what systems they are running and what data rates are needed?

    Hi,
Apple Xserve RAIDs are great but not cheap. Never heard of SANman, though!
Depends on whether you want a cheeper system to start with or ... HD uncompressed (single stream) needs sustained data rates of 200 MB/s. We have an HD system running OK (Media100HD, not FCP, though, but it shouldn't make a difference) with 4 large ULTRA ATA discs, striped with a cheap controller. The whole storage solution (1600 GB) costs less than $1500. Write back if you need the details.

  • Final Cut Pro Training NY

I was looking into an Apple Certification for FCP6 and there a few authorized centers here in the NYC area and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them in terms of quality? Soho Editors, The Edit Center and the Manhattan Edit Workshop in particular.
    Any info would be helpful.

For training in FCPX there are lots of choices. Here are a few I've found to be good:
    - Izzy Video's 26 part free tutorial  http://www.izzyvideo.com/final-cut-pro-x-tutorial-completed/
    - Steve Martin & Mark Spencer https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL607BE2B2BFE9BE1A
    - Denver Riddle tutorials on Color Grading V http://www.fcp.co/final-cut-pro/tutorials/477-a-free-fifteen-part-course-on-colo r-grading-within-fcpx
There are lots of courses available from Ripple Training, Creative Cow, Larry Jordan, Lynda.com, John Lynn and many others.
Books are another great source. Personal favorite is Tom Wolsky's FINAL CUT PRO X
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Cut-iMovie-Express-Users/dp/0240823664 Tom is our resident guru and always available to provide advise on how to sort out our FCPX problems - an outstanding resource!
These suggestions barely scratch the surface of all that's available online and in print but should get you started and editing quickly.
    Enjoy.

  • Can anyone recommend personal or class training, for Final Cut Pro in NYC?

Can anyone recommend personal or class training, for Final Cut Pro in NYC?

  • How do you get more free effects to use in Final Cut pro x?

I am looking for a safe free place to download more effects that I can use on my videos in Final cut pro x that include effects that aren't just limited to the colors of the video. I also hope that the place will have clear instructions on how to download them onto final cut pro x. If you know of a place like this let me know, thank you!

fcp.co is my go to place for transitions and effects. Most are between $20 and $50 and because they have many effect in each are well worth the money spent. My favorites are Pixel Studios and Lucas, both purchased through FX Factory. Look at the examples and demo videos before you buy.
    Good luck!

  • Onlining p2 footage to dvcpro hd in final cut pro hd

so i'm gearing up to shoot with two cameras: the panasonic hvx900 and the hvx200. trying to figure out a workflow. i want to end up doing two things: using only dvcpro HD masters in the online (which would require transferring the uncompressed P2 files out to tape) and editing the P2 footage, along with the DVCPRO HD footage, at standard def in the timeline. so...
    1) do i have to first transfer the P2 footage to the DVCPRO HD tapes and then do a downres capture from that? or is there a way that i could use the timecode from the P2 footage to make it through to the online using a different source (the DVCPRO HD tape) as a master, which would theoretically have the same timecode as the P2 footage?
    2) can you even do downres ingesting? or does it have to be a capture? if it's not possible, then it seems like it's not even worth it to try to save time through ingesting.

hmm. the issue is that we are doing a doc and it's going to be huge, size wise, so we'd like to offline edit in standard def. so we can't really do the edit and be done thing. but we're trying to determine whether or not it's possible to capture from one format (P2 card files) and online using a copy of that P2 file with the same timecode transferred to a tape. or whether it's better to just transfer it to the tape first and then capture into the session from that. it could save us time if it were possible to ingest the p2 files in full HD for later transferring to the tapes, as well as converting to standard def for the offline editing. so i guess the big question is, assuming we get the right version of final cut, is it possible to do a downres ingest? and does final cut pro hd not do ingesting? thanks.

  • How to Free up Disk Space to export from  Final Cut Pro to QuickTime?

I am using Final Cut Pro on a Mac OX10. When I try to export a Final Cut Pro project to QuickTime I get a message saying that I do not have enough disk space available. How do I free up additional disk space? (I am a little confused because I have already deleted more disk space than I am current trying to use)
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Might try restarting the computer, just to refresh the system's memory... be sure you empty the trash too... the new space won't show up until you do.
